El Dorado Seaside Palms: Nice resort - bad experience!

I've been to Riviera Maya 9 times now - and 8 of those trips have been fantastic in every way. This place is over-rated, over-priced, and underwhelming. Nice rooms, but constant noise from late night bars and music spoiled the natural beach front. And the food is average at best. I don't go to Mexico to eat burgers and fries - the local cuisine can be/is fantastic. Just in very short supply at El Dorado Suites. To really ruin for us though - I bought a hat in the gift shop, for $60 [... read more] - already money enough - and you can imagine my reaction when my CC statement comes in the following month with a $600 charge! Yes, folks - you are reading correctly! Impossible to reach the resort, the gift shop, etc. TripCentral themselves did not offer help with this problem. I am still fighting to get this fraud corrected. We also had the trip interrupted by a family emergency - certainly nobody's fault - and in using TripCentral to book tickets to the US, we were charged commission over and above the published price! Even in an emergency! TripCentral were also no help in the unused flight from Westjet. They got paid, so case closed, I guess. A very unsavory experience overall. Don't go to Dorado Suites - and don't expect any support beyond booking a trip and taking your CC info from Trip Central.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Trip

I've been there twice before, I booked the junior suite, which I am familiar with, on arrival they claimed to have upgraded us for free, no it was not an upgrade, it was a downgrade, so honestly I was ripped off

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: My vacation in Mexico

The hotel was very nice, clean and staff very friendly. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning staff did a good job. The grounds were looked after very well. The pools were kept clean but getting lounge chairs was difficult unless you went down to the pools before 8:00am. My one main complaint was that the food in the buffet was not very hot.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great resort!

The Hideaway at Royalton was an amazing resort! The food was delicious and staff members were very professional and friendly. The resort was always very clean and our room service was excellent. The nightly entertainment exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed the fact that there was a “party” pool and another “quiet” pool if you wanted to relax. The beach was also lovely and we were always able to get beach chairs. We only found it difficult to find beach towels somedays, as there was a sp [... read more]ecific staff member walking around with a bag of towels, but sometimes could not be found. Fantastic resort, highly recommend!

Riu Flamingos: Super Clean Resort!

Everywhere you look there was staff mopping floors, wiping tables, and cleaning off counters! Our rooms were cleaned spotless every day as well. Great service too! We had requested a minibar refill and they came up within 10 minutes! Super quick and friendly service!

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Great resort

The hotel was really nice. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. My only complaint is that they should have more staff that speak English and advertise their activities better. Also not much entertainment at night as advertised. The room was very clean. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room. Overall it was a very lovely and enjoyable resort and would return there.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Good resort and the price was right.

Have stayed in this hotel about 8 times, the last time was in 2020 where we had a three week stay booked but, as per advisory had to go home after two due to covid. The hotel is in a lovely location, the hotel itself is quite old and is starting to show its wear it generally needs some TLC. There are six different buildings in this complex most with their own pools and sits right on the beach. Every person on staff was very efficient and personable. Italian, Mexican,Thai, Chinese and a restaurant that services mostly meat. They were all great. The rooms were a good size and were cleaned daily by the housekeeping staff. Lots to do in and around this hotel, the evening theatre shows were really well done. We will be going back again

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Decent hotel

It’s a decent hotel but nothing special. The food was just ok, restaurant food was not good at all. Beach was very rocky and impossible to swim but pools were nice. The grounds are well maintained but rooms are very dated and some things in the room were not working well like closet door wouldn’t open. Service was good if you tip. Overall decent resort but I’m not sure it’s worth the price

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: A lush animal filled property

One of the nicest places to stay, STAFF amazing PROPERTY beautiful and lush FOOD outstanding, plentiful and a great variety LOCATION best in the area, minutes to one of the most amazing parks you will ever visit

Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Family fun

The food was excellent. The LaPergola restaurant was fast service and a great option was a la carte breakfast. Dinner a la carte restaurants were fantastic. Rooms comfortably large, beds weren't totally comfy but OK. All staff very friendly. Pools very clean and perfect temp. Soft sand and beautiful gold shimmery. I would recommend to anyone.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing Resort

The hotel was really nice. The grounds well kept with staff continuously cleaning. The food was wonderful. The entertainment was really good. I enjoyed the spa for a massage and I attended the yoga classes every morning, the instructor was amazing

Princess Mundo Imperial: Lovely Resort

Beautiful Resort, massive area and beautiful areas such as public areas, Rooms are a bit outdated and lack of a mini fridge but spacious, Food was okay but very lacking with options when booking with sun wing and only one all you buffet in the morning. Over all a great resort for adults but not really for kids

Palacio Mundo Imperial: Beautiful Place with great staff

Great place that allows you to use 2 other resorts in the area with a shuttle service. Many food options. Was very impressed with the cleanliness of all the resorts. Can’t wait to go again in the future

Krystal Grand Cancun: Good value

The hotel is in a great location in tge hotel zone. It's on a little bay that seems more private than the rest of the hotel zone. Hotel is nice. Looks grander than it is. Our room overlooked the street but because you're on a point you still get an ocean view. Rooms are basic but clean. Staff is attentive to any issues you have. Elevators are slow. Only 3 out of 4 worked. The layout downstairs is a bit confusing and bot made for handicapped people. Buffet is good but very small for the size  [... read more]of the hotel and not enough meat being grilled for dinner. Not 1 fish filet all week. Italian restaurant was just ok. The grill was excellent. We didn't like the set up of the restaurant booking. You can only book for that day. At first they said at 9 am but everything was gone by then. Then we were told 6 am and were able to get a reservation. The timeshare sales do get on your nerves after a while. Beech is lovely. Not enough lounge chairs for the size of hotel. Louis on the beach is quick with the drinks and the food Isabel at the buffet is a sweetie. I'd say we enjoyed our stay and it was good value for the money

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice Resort, but not if you want to relax!

I travelled with my Wife in Feb 2023 to this resort. It was our 2nd time coming here. 1st time was shortly after it opened in 2018 with 2 other couples. This resort had a lot of Pro's The Food at the ala carte's we tried was very good. Japanese, Italian, Route 66 , Steakhouse (was just OK, I ordered the Rib Eye, and it was basically a salty piece of flank steak, with lots of fat) Food at Buffet was good, but they always seemed to be short on staples. Fries, pineapple, Bacon (If you love  [... read more]Bacon, this place is not for you. it was WAY undercooked, and was always empty) Grounds were nice and clean, Rooms were cleaned early, and often. Lots of towels available (No towel cards, bonus) Staff were all AMAZING. Anything you wanted, they would make it happen. We had Privilege service, and Lily was our Butler. she was fantastic 4 large pools that were always clean, with lots of chairs to sit anywhere Few con's It's not a large resort, Beach space is at a Premium, and the spots that are there, are all crammed in. Swimming in Ocean was not great. Lots of seaweed (i know not the resorts fault) and a lot of Rocks/Coral in the ocean in front of this resort NO QUIET PLACES. this was our only real one complaint. As a cpl in their 50's we do enjoy some quiet, relaxing times to read our books, or nap if we wanted. That could almost never happen. There was an Adult only pool, but there was always loud pounding music, or there were inconsiderate people that were playing their own music on Bluetooth speakers. Hey guys, no one wants to hear your crappy music, get earphones!! There was a nice pool on the Privilege side, but that was also full of screaming kids. Not sure why parents don't take their kids to the giant kid pool where they could splash and scream all they want. It was not enough to ruin our vacation, but it was a bit of an annoyance overall.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Good family resort!

Pros: -clean and great service -buffet food was very good -lots to do for kids Cons: -night noise. rooms in tower 1 are subject to a lot of noise at night from people partying in the main floor bars and midway snack bar (open all night) as it has indoor atrium setupMgmt did nothing to correct the noise or sorting. -a la carte restaurants are near impossible to book. They have a telephone reservation system that you have to use the day of to book. Unless you want to spend your vacation  [... read more]on the phone, it’s hard to get through to book. We were able to book one à la carte and when we went, the restaurant was pretty empty. Thus making me believe they want to funnel everyone to the buffet instead (less overhead costs).

Krystal Puerto Vallarta: Nice resort

The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were clean. The buffets were adequate but the Italian restaurant was amazing and the French restaurant was phenomenal. The Asian restaurant was not worth going to. My biggest complaint about the food is that it was never hot, everything was barely warm. The staff was friendly but didn’t really give you any information about the resort. We learned more from the other guests. They did not have much for entertainment. We were in bed early every night  [... read more]as there was nothing to do after dinner. This resort is in a good area, close to shopping and only a short bus ride to the Malacon. If you are looking for a truly Mexican family friendly resort and aren’t looking to party late into the evening then this is a resort for you. For the price this is good resort.

Krystal Puerto Vallarta: A solid 3.5-4 star

Rooms and common areas very clean and mostly well groomed grounds. Ala carte restaurants fantastic. Staff wonderful. Would have liked to see coffee pots and supplies in room. Entertainment totally lacking. I think employees should monitor people staking out chairs for the whole day without spending any time at all in the chairs/ lounges - very difficult to find a place to sit and lounge. Well kept resort, clean and tidy. Would like to mention Annabelle a hostess at the buffet, very friendly with a smile all the time. She made us feel welcome like we were at home. Only negative point the cost of golf had jumped over 100% since we were last there, the only change to course was the aprons and greens are better. I guess somebody has to pay for the new additions to the club house
