Melia Costa Rey: Pullman - Nice smallish resort - very easy to navigate.

This is a relatively new resort and the rooms are very nice and spacious as are the balconies. From what I could see, there is not a bad room to be had and the condo buildings are only 3 floors so very easy to navigate. The grounds are still a little premature, but were in good shape...in a couple of years, it will be amazingly beautiful with mature plants/trees. Again, I will mention the resort is smallish with around 200 rooms, so you get to know that staff pretty quickly. Buffet was good and a la carte meals were really good. The only drawback I would mention is that room housekeeping lacked a bit - 2 days great, 2 days looked like our room hadn't even been swept, much less washed and then good again. Free bikes available and they're in great shape, lots of beach and poolside activities. All in all, no complaints.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Love Cuba!

Check in was easy and we got an ocean view room as per our request. The room was dated and the door looked like it had been forced open more than once😟. The patio doors opened with difficulty and the lock didn't always work. The resort itself is kept clean and the staff are amazing. It's small and not once did we feel any sense of overcrowding. Very interesting to watch as well. There are sand flies and I received a number of bites but they weren't a problem. Loved the towel art! The food wasn't bad for Cuba and I'm fussy! Having a healthcare background, I assess the food hygiene continually. Overall I have to say that the guests are the biggest offenders! Gross!!! Would definitely recommend this resort and would love to return there soon😊

Melia Jardines del Rey: GREAT BEACH ....FUN ENTERTAINMENT

This was our second visit to Melia Jardines Del Ray. Beach is fantastic, animation team was great, and we loved the bands and the night that the dancers interacted with guests. Shows were the same old thing... There needs to be a HUGE improvement of the food and cleanliness of the public areas. The food at many times was cold , and overcooked or undercooked. Ran out of a lot of items quickly and not replenished, so do not show up too late. Hotel Playa Coco: Just what the doctor ordered

My husband and I just returned from a week in paradise. The beaches were pristine, the food was amazing,(lots of variations at different places so there is no way you'd go hungry, even the pickiest of eaters) and mother nature whole heartedly was on our side! You can be as busy as you want at this resort or as lazy as you want, never waited in line for drinks or chairs etc.. Perfect for all ages and all levels of mobility. simply awesome time at melia cayo coco.....everything went smoothly from amanda booking for us to our limo back home....the cuban people are the most hospitable and welcoming people i have ever met...........

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful Beach

This resort was not one of my favourites. Compared to other Cuban resorts, the entertainment team was not as involved, there were too many line ups for food, it was hard to get into the a la carte restaurants and my friend had bed bugs in her room. The beach was beautiful which was the highlight of the resort. I will not return to this resort.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Fantastic vacation

The hotel has a lot of great things going for it: wonderful staff, lovely grounds, good food, a gorgeous beach and that turquoise ocean... Yes, it's an older property and in need of a lot of fixes and painting. Our room was clean and nicely cared for during our stay. The bathroom was desperately in need of an overhaul - it was very dark, the toilet ran continuously and the sink plug wouldn't stay up so we had to remove it all together. The food was generally good - anything made-to-order was the best, and there were lots of options. Drinks were good too, except the wine. What really made our vacation were the people. We became friends with the animation staff and some of the servers and bartenders - they're all wonderful people and really made the vacation a great one. If you're not an overly picky person, and if you view the room as just a place to sleep and store your things as we do, you'll like this place. Take the time to talk to and get to know the staff as those friendships will be what you take with you when you leave.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Updating is coming! Resort is great!

Over all the resort is great. This was our second visit to Tryp Cayo Coco. The people who work there can't do enough for you. The grounds are constantly kept upand there is always someone working on something. They are in the midst of preparing to redo 190 rooms beginning in May. The rooms are tired and need to be upgraded which is great to see them do. There is an issue with mosquitos and a stench around the stale water that runs through the resort is likely the issue. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: great resort

We really enjoyed the resort ...they had lots to do and the area was clean...food good for Cuba pool clean rooms clean especially if you leave little gifts for housekeeping. Recommend getting out to Lennies for a lobster meal ....short cab ride I would reccomend this resort..with or without kids.......need lots of Peso's lol

Hotel Mojito: Happy..Happy

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Exemplary Service

11 day stay with 8 people. The service was phenomenal; service staff tried to accommodate at every opportunity. Pros: beach was great, lots of chairs with staff to assist, bar on beach, wait staff, pizza bar, low tide you could walk to next Memories resort, majority of food was very good. Entertainment was good, daytime activities were low key, you could participate if you wished but were not harassed to do so, which we appreciated. Night shows were a good variety of resort staff and professio [... read more]nals troops. Beach towels were in rooms upon check in and safes were electronic and included. Cons: BUGS! Some of our 8 were eaten alive while others may have received a few bites.Buffet food not always hot (but good quality), to alleviate cold food you could get fresh cooked meat, fish pasta and stir-fry that were very hot and fresh. Ourselves and one other couple did not have hot water (lukewarm) but in resort's defence they tried to fix problem and offered to change our rooms which we declined. Friends all had hot water with good water pressure; we lived with warm water so we wouldn't have to pack up belongings again. Pool was little cool but manageable; near end of stay the walls were getting a bit green with sludge. Overall our stay was a pleasure with some of the best staff we've encountered in our travels. TIPS: Bring your bug spray.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fantastic family vacation

Ok so let's start off by saying there are two things you can expect in Cuba. 1 the food is fairly bland, and the rooms are ok. 2 the people are AMAZING, the service is great and the resort is fantastic. If you are going there for the food, you have picked the wrong destination. But the rest of your vacation will be great. It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect. Pretty good since it would take much longer even at home to have that done. The people on the grounds were so amazing to my young daughters. Always handing them a flower, or making a bird out of palm leaves to give to them, or even getting down a coconut and carving it up for them. The beach was spectacular and we snorkeled ever day right off the beach. We saw tons of different fish, sting rays and hermit crabs. There is also a catamaran (hobie cat) which for 20 cucs they will take you out to a reef that is unreal. There is plenty of activity around the pool if that is your speed, or you can go to the upper pool for a little quieter suntanning. The 24 hour bar is really great and the coffee is spectacular, we already miss it. Do not hesitate to go to this resort, but taper your expectations on the food. The place is very clean and no one on our trip got the least bit sick.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing Resort

The beaches are amazing and at this resort they were working on picking up sea weed by 6:15 am every morning. Very clean resort. Dated but they are working on it!! No shortage of food. You will always find something you like even if you are a picky eater. The staff work hard to put on evening entertainment. THE BEST entertainment was Alex in the Azul Restaurant. As the evening show finishes Alex will perform in the window for all to see. He was our highlight of the evening.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great place

Very nice place, friendly staff and good entertainment with lots of activities and outings available, snorkling, places to visit, tours, fishing etc. Good place to relax and wind down.................

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Truly a 5 Star

This is an absolute gem of a resort. Everything from the staff, the rooms, the grounds is top notch. Food quality is excellent and there is quite the variety. Will definitely be returning in the near future hopefully.

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful resort!

The Pullman Cayo Coco Resort was a very clean, spacious resort. It was a newer resort with an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean, The Buffet was well organized and the food was better than I expected. The A La Csrt restaurants was very good. Especially the Asian:) The people at the resort were very friendly and accommodating..

Hotel Mojito: Great Getaway!

This resort is on a beautiful beach at Cayo Coco. Place is very clean - staff are exceptional - from front desk to housekeeping to groundskeepers to food service staff. This is a safe and family friendly spot. We met numerous people who had been there several times over the past few years - which says a lot for the calibre of care given to their guests. The venue itself is a little "tired" and could use some upgrades/renovation but overall good value for money. Thanks to Trip Central which was a great way to book this - they covered all the details for us and we had no issues with flights or check in at the Mojito.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Best dock!

if you are a seafood lover the food at this resort will impress you. Very fresh and tons of variety. There is a dock which is to die for. Mature resort which we enjoyed. Beach was wonderful, overall great.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Love this place!!!

This place is amazing, people are awesome!!! All you have to do is go with open mind that you are in Cuba. Lovely grounds, lots of activities if you want to join in.I would go back in a second!! All in all was a great place to stay!!

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Sercotel Club Cayo Guillermo

We had the pleasure of visiting this resort from Feb. 7 - 17. This was strictly an R&R vacation for us and truly, we didn't do a whole lot but spent most of our time at the hotel soaking in all it had to offer. Our arrival and check in was very quick and we decided to upgrade to the Adults Only section at that time. We were driven to our little cabin in a golf cart and within a very short time, we were settled in and began our vacation. We were right on the beach and the view from our patio was spectacular. We were steps to the amazing beach and there were plenty of chairs and no chair saving which was very nice to see. The beach ! Wow it is amazing. You can walk a great distance - to the marina or to the other resorts in the area. Unfortunately, the palapalas didn't provide much shade so we spent most of our time at the pool area. The sun was in full force everyday and we couldn't have wished for or asked for better weather. There was a beach bar in the area which was a very nice touch for those who spent the day here. The pool area was a great spot to sit & read and enjoy the coolness of the water. Since it was adults only, there were no children which we really enjoyed. Of course, people did try to use the Jacuzzi and pool but were redirected quickly. It is a problem in that security does not patrol the area for people who are not part of the upgrade so it was up to guests to report them. The signage is not clear and they need to put out signs with the different coloured bands to make it clearer. Signs should be posted in visible areas - less writing and more colourful to catch the eye. A few people just didn't get it and argued with security - you don't pay you don't play - simple as that. The food. Oh my! We always have lower expectations for meals in Cuba but we have never had better. The meals were extremely delicious and there wasn't anything that was bland or awful. They served up turkey, beef, pork and fish dishes. No mystery meats here. The chef really needs to be commended in his cuisine. Everything was well prepared and well cooked. We definitely put on a few pounds at this resort. Of course, we had a few little hiccups along the way but staff took care of our issues and were resolved quickly. The staff from the bartenders to the front desk were wonderful, kind & always a ready smile. The one slight that we noticed at the adult section was the manager. I think the managers name was Ramon (not entirely sure) and he was there with his wife - from Spain I believe. We only saw them during mealtime and noticed he was never around in-between. He didn't seem to be interested in the guests - not a smile, not a hello...nothing. He was actually quite intimidating and people wondered who they were. We found that very strange as most managers take the time to chat with guests and take an interest in them. Not this one. We (and others) were very disturbed that they had fresh meals specially prepared for them. This lead many of us to wonder why the regular food from the buffet wasn't good enough for them but served to the guests. Very strange. The complete opposite from staff at the main lobby area - Eddwin (? manager at the main lobby) always stopped us & asked if everything was ok...what a difference between the two. All in all, we cannot find fault in this resort. Our vacation was wonderful and we couldn't have been happier with all it had to offer. We would return and will definitely recommend it to our friends. The staff at the main lobby front desk as well as the adults only desk area were extremely helpful and made us feel so welcome - if there was anything we needed they were on it without hesitation. That also applies to the wait staff - our glasses never were empty and dirty plates didn't sit for long on our table.
