The hotel is ok. No more. If you encounter problems, the guest service is the worst. They will give you the run around. The food is ok. The service at the restaurant hotel is poor. We will not return to that hotel.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Majestic Mirage All Suites Resort

We have been to Dominican Republic at least 6-7 times and this was by far the best resort we’ve been to! Beautiful and clean grounds and rooms, friendly and fun staff everywhere and excellent food!! We would go back here for sure!!

Occidental Caribe: NOT FOR US...

I have been to several resorts in Cuba, DR, Mexico, Barbados etc. I anticipated the food would be mediocre and the rooms out of date but I was going for the lovely beaches of Punta Cana. Unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment for us. The beach is beautiful but the WAVES were so rough it was not good at all for kids and parents. We could not be more that arms reach away from him the entire time he was in the water because of the strong waves and undertow. This beach actually scar [... read more]ed me twice and I was so stressed when he was in the water that we barely went to the beach. The beach is why we go, not for the pool. The food wasnt great if you have kids. The pizza place was only open on weekends and if your not there when it opens your waiting in line. The buffet was ok. Always something but not much buffet options for the kids besides Fries. If you speak Spanish you are going to be okay but not speaking Spanish we were challenged. Majority of staff don't speak English, the resort seems to cater more to the locals that come for weekends - this is when things go so busy there were lines everywhere. The rooms were very outdated but that is not a problem for us. What WAS a problem was that our SAFE was broken and we spent a few hours in the room waiting to get it fixed. The AC is also barely working so it was quite warm, the fan and AC were not able to be changed to colder temps. Also our ceiling was peeling and our friends we met there had a leak in their ceiling. The pools were nice but the adult pool was the only pool that had any activities. We couldn't go to that pool because we had our son but we would have loved to participate in the activities. The kids pool area was very cute, lots of fun but it is more geared to younger kids under 6 yrs. My son is 8 and he wanted a pool that he could swim and jump and play so we used the other pool kids were allowed in but it was very quiet with nothing going on. We later found out there were some kids activities but we missed most of them. I would suggest if you go because of the price be prepared to get what you pay for. If you dont like to swim in the ocean and dont mind outdated rooms and Cuba like food options this is good for you. The grounds were beautiful and beach was super close to the hotel. If you enjoy the beach and swimming you might want to book on the side of Punta Cana more closer to the Caribbean Sea - like Barcelo etc. We also did 2 excursions that were fantastic - Monkeyland and the Caribbean Pirates at Sea. We had a great time and our 8 year old loved both. If you do go find Nelson in the dining room and Anna from the Kids club. Both were fantastic! Below I rated the BEACH/POOL low because of the beach but the pool was nice just lots of cups at the bottom of it - my son recovered most of them each morning.

It's have been one week since we get back from Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Resort . The resort is very clean , beautifully laid out and the staff are amazing people , especially our butler Francisco who took care of us from the moment we arrived , to the moment we left . Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Beautiful resort!

The staff were very friendly, rooms super spacious and I loved the deep bathtub in the room and jacuzzi on the balcony. Food was excellent in the restaurants as well as the 2 buffets. Beach was lovely, pools were clean and lots of staff to keep bringing those spectacular cocktails. We love the signature drink 'The Majestic', it was like drinking a creamsicle.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Majestic colonial

Heather Felice suggested this resort and we are so glad she did. We stayed in the upgraded adults only section and it was amazing. Food Was fabulous and resort was the cleanest we have ever been to. Had a butler who arranged anything we needed. Only remotely negative thing is there are some rocks out in the water but Not enough to stop us from visiting again. We are beach people and it was an amazing beach!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Pretty amazing resort

This resort was amazing! The service was beyond amazing. Only thing that we didn't like as much was how the beach was set up, there was not enough areas with full sunlight and depending on where you picked a spot it was still far from the beach. But overall I would stay at the resort again.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Tropical Resort with Amazing Views.

The resort was in a lush, tropical setting with such beautiful views from so many vantage points. The room was one of the largest I've stayed in with a huge balcony with an amazing ocean view, sitting area, comfortable king bed and large spacious bathroom, with both a tub and shower. The elevated heated spacious pool sported a swim up bar, one of a kind views, lots of seating in both the sun and shade, and ongoing fun-filled activities. At the buffet restaurant you were always treated wonderfully by the staff, and the food was very good. I always found much to choose from, using pork, beef, chicken, fish, mussels, potatoes etc. in many different ways. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetable dishes. There was a made to order pasta bar. A large selection of hot and cold desserts, my favourites being the hot rice pudding and fresh ice-creams. The specialty restaurants were a nice way to try some different new foods. My favourite was the French restaurant, but all were worth trying. The bar tenders were all friendly and enjoyed making any sort of beverage. Really enjoyed the frozen Margaritas, Banana Mamas, Coco Locos, etc. The lobby bar had an all day tea and coffee station. The nightly entertainment was good, They was always a musician / singer or sax player to start the evening and get the dancing going. The specialty shows like the Stars (impersonators), Caribbean Party, and Circus sported talented dancers and performers. And as always, like by the pool in the afternoons, the entertainment staff were there engaging with us, dancing with us and for us, getting us participating, having fun, making the experience extra special. Such high energy and pride in their jobs. The resort was so very clean. Constantly sweeping / washing / painting/ repairing. Even though it is a fairly compact resort, with it being built on a hillside there are many stairs, which in the 37 with humidex weather I found taxing at times. The staircases to our 3rd floor unit, as well as many of the outdoor ramps/ stairs were not all well lit at night, so had to be quite careful not to mis-step. I'm so very glad I went and saw this beautiful resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great Resort!

Overall the hotel was great. Loved the layout, lazy river, pools, restaurants etc. What thr hotel can improve on is the cleanliness in the pools, as 2 family members got ear infections and another a UTI from the pools. Also, i find that the rooms are only satisfactory cleaned and the cleaning staff need to be more attentive to that. The drinks were satisfactory, a lot of premixed drinks that weren't fresh, food was great overall abundance of selection at the buffets, only got to eat at the Itali [... read more]an restaurant during the stay which was pretty good. The beach was very choppy and a lot of seaweed but if you walk a little bit you can find areas to swim, not ideal for small children. Overall the resort was great!!!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great value for $

Solid 4 star hotel. Restaurants were delicious especially steakhouse and Italian and so were dishes at 2 snack bars. Pizza Pup also yummy. Standard room dated but clean, lots of hot water and everything worked. Staff very hard working with much thanks to Felicia who booked all our dinners. Beach was windy with rocks so bring water shoes. No fish to see. Biggest complaint bars should have cocktail and drink menu. Overall very enjoyable vacation.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: MEDIOCRE AT BEST

Property 7/10 Decent grounds and nice clean pools. Rooms 7/10 Very clean. GREAT AC Food 3/10 Small poor buffet. Bad food but didn't get sick. Just bad. Service 4/10 Not great. Especially bad at buffet. Drinks 2/10 Cheap rum only cheap booze. Poor mixes. Very bad.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Baha’i Principle Grand Punta Cana

We choose this resort and wasn’t disappointed. It met our expectations from the we arrived to the day we departures. We have already recommended this resort to our relatives and friends. We will definitely stay at this location for our next vacation.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: not so grand

Food was OK but some of the restaurants were disappointing Cockroaches our room . The public toilets were not cleaned and some were flooded. Beaches had a lot of seaweed OVERALL 3 *

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Amazing Vacation

We stayed at the resort from November 11th to 22nd. It was our second time at the resort, the first time being 20 years ago. So there have been many positive changes. First and foremost the entertainment is amazing, it was 20 years ago and still is today. The gardens are beautiful the beaches are kept clean. They have a lifeguard on duty at the beach which you don't see very often and while we were there he had to go out and rescue someone. The buffets are well stocked and fresh. Though it ca [... read more]n be a bit repetitive at times, all the food was amazingly well presented. The specialty restaurants were the best but you can only book 3 dinners. If you like to sitting at the beach you need to get up before 8:00 and find your lounge chair, if not you're out of luck as it's a very busy resort. There are umbrellas on the beach which is a must for me. If you like long walks on the beach you won't be disappointed. The only thing we found is our suite was a bit dated and that the air conditioning just didn't feel right. It looked like the same room I'd been in 20 years ago. The grounds and beach is spectacularly clean. There's environmental policy is outstanding no single use products on the resort. We definitely would return.

Occidental Caribe: Did not disappoint!!

We stayed at this resort a few years ago and we’re eager to return!! Well, the service has not changed and is great all around.. the food was great and there was always a variety so there is no way someone could go hungry!! The grounds are beautiful and the beach is absolutely incredible. There is always a breeze and sufficient shade if one needs it.. the only disappointment that we experienced along with other is that the rooms are in need of some upgrading.. they are old and rundown but the [... read more] cleaning services help make them look welcoming!! Would not hesitate to return!! But if you are miss “fancy pants”,I wouldn’t recommend it as you would be sure to find fault in everything!! Lol.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Decent time

We enjoyed our time, hotel was showing some age but that didn’t bother us too much. Food was hit and miss. The grounds, pools and beach were nice. Most staff were friendly and helpful. The butler service was nice , we didn’t use it that much. We used go majestic for our hotel transfer and that was smooth, no issues. The Mexican restaurant was a disappointment and don’t recommend that one, the rest were good.

Ocean El Faro: Awesome resort

This resort deserves a 5 plus rating. We have been to a lot of resorts in Dominican Mexico Cuba Jamaica but we keep coming back here at ocean el faro it is our 4th time and won’t be our last. Grounds are well lit and clean. The lazy river is so much fun and exciting and all the pools are beautiful and well maintained. The beach is a bit rocky but still good. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: A great time

The resort (while aging) is well kept and maintained. The staff are great and our ‘butler’ was able to handle so many little details for us. Food at the buffet is ‘par for the course’ but both the lobster and steak were incredible. Overall a great place to vacation and an amazing value for the money.
