The resort is beautiful. Well maintained and clean. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food at the buffet was good but the restaurant was very busy and there was not enough staff to keep up. The "A la carte" meals were a little disappointing. The pool areas were very nice and the tram service was great. But I have to say that the resort not being on the beach or even within walking distance from the ocean was a huge downfall for me. I will never retu[... read more]rn to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Average at best!
This resort was very nice and clean and the food was delicious, as for the service, it was very disappointing. We had a large group of people and more than half of our 50plus group had problems with there rooms and/or service. And no one seemed to care about any of our issues, they just told us to go to a different lobby to get help. It's way too big and too busy to properly accodate all the guests.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Average resort
The grounds were very nicely kept. Huge resort you needed to take shuttles to get to and from tulum to coba. They were not very reliable.we usually had to wait 45 min.
The food was pretty good. The service at the buffet was excellent
. At the a la cartes it was very slow. We had 9:30 reservations and they were not busy at that time. It would take 30 min before they would come over to take a drink order. They were more concerned with clearing the other tables.
At the bars there was only [... read more]1 bar tender working, so lines were always long.
We had a relaxing and overall good week. We stayed at the Bahia in Jamaica twice and this Bahia doesn't come close to the quality of the Jamaican one

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great place to marry
I got married at this resort. They set it up very nicely and on time. Great place to stay. Do note, they will not rush to get things done. Took a while to get my room on the first day. Also cleaning times for the room is never consistent. 9:30am one day, 5:00pm the next.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort - showing its age
This has been my third time visiting this resort and it still amazes me how beautiful it is. The resort has now grown to 7 in total. They have put in so much work into the new sections (Fantasia, Turquoise) that they are not putting any efforts into the original resort (Punta Cana).
We were there from March 31 to April 7th for a wedding. In total there were 18 people and there seem to be an issue with all of the rooms. Being there for a wedding we would think that all of the rooms would[... read more] be together but instead were scattered all over the resort.
For our room a special email request was sent to help us celebrate our honeymoon and my birthday and nothing was done to acknowledge the celebration. Our fridge in our room did not work properly at all and once it was documented it was fixed right away. Unfortunately for my brother his fridge also did not work and it took 5 days to get his fixed.
In previous years if you were a returning guess you received a different color bracelet and you had the option of eating breakfast at the Santa Fe restaurant instead of going up to the lobby to go to the main Buffet. They are no longer doing this and had to go to the main lobby everyday. One night during the week they have a carribean night in the main court yard. In order to participate in this you have to pay an extra $15.00 per person. We were not happy with this and turned around and went back to the lobby.
The resort is starting to show its age and things were constantly breaking. we weren't able to use the whirlpool tub as the stopper wouldn't work. Wall fixture beside the bed was broken in half and did not work.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Family Resort
The resort had beautiful grounds and staff were very welcoming upon arrival. We travelled with 3 year old and 8 month old and were very pleased at the amenities offered for our family.
Beach: We spent a lot of time at the waterpark and the beach. The water was a little rocky but didn't hinder our experience at all and learned easily where to situate to avoid rocks and wade in sandy bottom. Lots of shade on the beach too.
Rooms: Rooms were clean and housekeeping was pleasant. A little[... read more] wear and tear but nothing that we couldn't overlook. The only compliant is the carpet in hallways has seen better days and probably should go. We had a great balcony and location was perfect in the 18000 section.
Food: The food at the buffet was ok. We always found a few good things to eat but did become repetitive at times. We always found variety that suited everyone in the party. We tried 3 of the specialty restaurants...Italian, Teppanyaki, French. We had much better meals at these restaurants and would highly recommend any of them.
Drinks: Not all bars were properly stocked but was always able to get a drink. They had lots of options and found no issue.
Entertainment: As we had young kids we didn't see much of nighttime entertainment. We did the limbo night and beach party through the kids club and they were fun. We tried doing beach Olympics. The staff were good with kids but seemed a bit disorganized. Lots of waiting to decide what to do next.
We would recommend this to other families with young kids.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fun place!
Great hotel, terrific staff, loved the food, drinks and the service.
The grounds area amazing, the al a cartes were incredible especially the Brazilian place Tortuga.
We will definitely be back!
The grounds of this hotel is 5 star. The grounds are immaculate. The rooms are a great size. If your not getting an ocean view ask for building 57 facing the pool with a balcony we were in 57122. Even numbers face pool. This is a new building facing the new quiet pool. It's close to everything the buffet the a la cartes and lobby and la Romana le gourmet. A la carte a can only be booked by the Bahia app which I recommend to install. The only restaurant that must be done by the staff is d[... read more]on Pablo gourmet restaurant. In your check in envelope is your keys luggage baggage a slip so bellman bring your bags to your room and a mso. What is a missing is the Dress code for the a cartes are shirts with sleeves belted shorts or pants with closed toe shoes. Don Pablo and le gourmet you must wear pants. How to set up free Wifi. The hours of the restaurants especially the buffets. These are most important if you arrive after 6 pm. Check in will be done on the bus in. So ask your Butler or bell man or front desk when you get there. Note reservation number or reservsa number is different than confirmation number. If you are lucky they might give you both before your trip so you can book your a la carte a before you arrive two or three days before.
Upgrade to option plus on return you get to buy ok your seats ahead of time first on a plane seperate line for booking at airport. Most important access to privekedge lounge. It's 54 each well worth it. Your at the airport 3.5 hours before flight. Book your movies in advance on cineb app. You are permitted 3 shows total. The movies are date specific if you set them up for your departure it wouldn't be available on your return. You watch it on your cell or lap top that you downloaded it to.
The bar is all premium names of brands you have heard of before. Bacardi gordens crown riyal baileys Chivas etc. The only additional charges are some single malt scotch cognac and bottles of wine.
The gourmet restaurants is fine dining leave your diet at the door. The grill is for people that love meat have a early seating for this as the meat sometimes is kept warm and gets overcooked for late bookings. Stay away from fish house. The Asian is great ask for jose he will take care of you. Make use of your Butler they put scents in your room. Get you special pillows with or without scents help you with packing and unpacking etc. Two dollars goes a long way. The restaurants are limited to wine and shots for coffee or after-dinner drinks.
Lobby bar is fully stocked.
Enjoy your stay. We will return
5 stars.
It's is great for a relaxing holiday it starts at 8 am and gets really quiet at 11pm unless you go to la Romana side.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: DISSAPOINTING RESORT.BAD MANAGEMENT
After being at this hotel 5 times now and my traveling companion 3 ,I can say this was the first time I have been very disappointed. in the room mostly. the first room we were given was not the cleaniness,i had grown to expect from this resort, .we only had one electrical plug and that was in the bathroom. one side of the double bed had an extension cord coming from behind the headboard to plug in a charger .that was all except the tv in Spanish.
behind the headboards WERE A MASS of electri[... read more]cal wires with no mar connectors on the end. since this is where the extension cord was coming out off it. we assumed they were live. we went to desk to complain and ask for another room said we couldn't get moved till next day. I asked for an upgrade to a vip room which was what we requested ,even if I had to pay more and we were not even taken seriously. the room we were given was a downgrade not upgrade .there were Robes and Towels in the first room. when we asked for them back for the second room we were told that they were for VIP only. After returning to this resort many times .I expected better service than this. They gave us Silver bracelets instead of green BIG DEAL. they didn't mean anything except advertising for the resort that we were returning clients .after two days of our vacation being ruined trying to get what we requested. we realized they were catering to the first timers. hoping they would come back. not us after many times we were there .very disappointing vacation..we have recommended this resort to many friends since I started going there 10 years ago. but will not recommend it again to anyone..............

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Wouldn't go back.....
This resort is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate. The rooms, restaurants and washroom facilities are super clean! The rooms are stunning and the view incredible. There were more than enough beach towels and beach chairs available at all times. With this being said our experience was less than memorable for a 5 star resort. My Mom is a second time cancer survivor and we live an ordinary life. She is on pension and I survive on one income. We do not struggle but going on a vac[... read more]ation for us means rolling our pennies and dipping into our savings accounts. When my Mom survived colon cancer we decided to go to a 5 star resort and were treated like royalty. The service was over the top and we were hoping to do it again someday. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and was recently given a clean bill of health so we decided to go to Jamaica....someplace we had both always wanted to visit but could never afford. We decided you only live once! Our flight was delayed 5 hours so once we arrived at the airport we got on the bus for a one hour ride. The staff was waiting for the 3 busloads of tourists with clipboards in hand. We were given a 2 minute orientation with no information about the resort, we were asked to fill out the information sheet and then provided with room keys. There were bell hops and butlers everywhere but none left to assist my 72 year old Mother and myself with our luggage. I asked my Mom not to touch her luggage but being stubborn she grabbed it and wound up falling over the ramp landing on her back. There was no staff there to assist. I helped her up and we made our way through the Luxury Lobby. Her bruises and injuries were substantial but she did not want to make a spectacle as she is a proud woman. A staff member finally grabbed her suitcase and guided us to our room. As it was late we went to get a bite to eat. Returning to our room we unpacked and got in our pj's to discover the air conditioner did not work. We called and two repairmen were sent to fix it. I asked if they wanted a shot of rum. They agreed and said it would be fixed soon. They said it was fixed then I gave them a bottle of rum instead of a drink being so grateful. Turns out they lied. There was still no air. We called and another repairman was sent who removed the motor explaining that we would have to change rooms. The nite manager showed up and we had to pack everything and get changed. My Mother was exhausted as it was now midnite. We were in the airport at 6 am that morning. We finally got settled in a room with one bed not two as we originally had. The nite manager said we could switch in the morning. When they called we decided the bed was more than big enough and had already lost a day and didnt feel like packing again. The next day we went to the beach on the luxury side which was more like a wading pool. We had to get our own drinks as there were no servers available to us. We tried to reserve a la carte restaurants but were told to go online. When we did we could not get anymore reservations. We ate in two a la cartes on the luxury side which were okay and tried to get more but were told there was nothing that could be done. We had to eat at the buffet every nite. Not my idea of 5 star. The service was okay and a few of our waiters and waitresses were over the top but for the most part it was mediocre. The hostesses were amazing specifically Janele. We then got lured into the time share presentation with the representative roping us in indicating it was a tenth anniversary celebration. We didnt realize it was a time share. When we got to the buffet my Mom was not feeling well and we told the time share rep we had to leave. She was more than upset and we had difficulty getting a ride back to the room so she could rest. The reps in the Luxury Lobby snarled and gave us dirty looks each morning thereafter....what a warm Jamaican welcome. Nobody asked how my Mother was feeling. Seriously??? We went to the Air Canada Orientation which only promoted excursions and gave no mention of the amenities we were entitled to. We booked two private excursions both with the same guide......he didn't talk. The first excursion he did provide a history etc but the trip back and the second excursion he did not talk explaining he was having a hard life.....what the ????? How not impressed we were. We spent most of our time on the beach where we constantly had to serve ourselves. We tipped all of the staff generously and were always pleasant. I love sailing and approached one of the sailors on the beach who said I had to pay him 40 dollars. I told him it was free for me and he said only if I sailed alone. I gave him the money and he put it in his pocket. Should I not have filled out a waiver? Something? To protect the resort in the event something went wrong??? I talked to the Air Canada rep and he suggested I go back and explain that it was all included and he said he would give it back right away. I did that but he refused stating it was required to pay for his services. Needless to say I did not get to sail again. Would you trust someone like this??? The lifeguards were super friendly but most of the other staff were unapproachable. We did make our way into the village where the casino was and the bartender was super! Probably one of the nicest staff members on the resort. With no guidance at all in regards to the amenities etc we took it upon ourselves to have one of the bellhops take us for a tour of the resort. He willingly took us around explaining everything to us. His name was Shak? He was super. We had trouble getting facecloths, towels and bathmats everyday. We requested shower caps more than once and never got any. One day we were getting ready to go to the beach and a maid knocked on the door. I told her we would be gone in 5 minutes. She pushed her way in the room and said she only had our room to do on this floor and was doing it now. She grabbed the tip money off the bed and continued to make it up while we were there. I was completely stunned. I have never experienced anything like this at a 5 star. We found out on the last day when one of the staff members asked us if she could interview us that we should have had butler service and asked how it was. Butler? What Butler? We waited and waited but never did see or hear from one. We never got turndown service and the one time we got room service it was okay but I still cannot believe you can get nothing but toast with all inclusive room service. This is 5 star? I wish my Mom would have had a more memorable time but she was thoroughly disappointed. What a way to celebrate being cancer free. Life is short. I will not visit Jamaica again.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: An amazing week
The Ambar Green exceeded expectations. The resort was incredibly clean, staff were friendly and always available to help, rooms were beautiful. The pool was great, plenty of loungers and if they ran out of umbrellas they went and got more. You saw staff cleaning the pool daily. The animation team was a lot of fun but also didn't push to involve people of they wanted to relax. The beach is by far the best I've ever seen. Powdery sit sand and that perfect turquoise water. You could easily walk for[... read more] an hour in either direction. The food was beyond good. First time I've actually enjoyed resort food. If I had to find a negative it's that I only had 7 days

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort
Very large resort, beaches were beautiful, entertaining games in the pool during the day and awsome live entertainment at night. From magic to dancing. Large variety of food at the buffet resturants. I gained weight this trip. Only thing I think they could do better is the service in the resturants. They were understaffed took awhile to get a clean table and drinks during busy hours.
