Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: clean resort

I found the Senator Resort very clean and staff very friendly. I did find though that the maintenance of issues in the hotel like toilet seat broke, tap not working some light issues and tub drain off tub broke to mention a few were never fixed during our stay. No key for the safe an extra charge. The air transat rep was very good spoke good english and very informative it was worth the welcome invitation visit. The food was ok but got boring after the 5th and 6th day so ate in the bar wa [... read more]s good food there. The beach was clean and the pool area kept very clean. I did wish however some english music would be played during the day. The entertainment at the pool area was good. I would go again if the price was right.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Expected more from this resort...

I had a lot of high-hopes for this resort as it's part of the Bahia chain. We stayed at the Aquamarine which is the adults only section and is supposed to be "Grand". The first thing that struck us was that the service was beyond poor. In speaking with others around us, they felt the exact same way. It took hours for someone to come and ask what we'd like to drink. There were days at breakfast where our coffee came after we finished eating. The second thing was that the food was super li [... read more]mited. There was no choice at the buffet. Breakfast was the only meal where you could get a decent variety of food as the eggs were freshly made to your liking. Lunch and dinner had the same stuff everyday and the fruits were not fresh. The rooms are okay. They do need some updating as it is a bit old school in terms of the decor and design. The rooms also need a fair bit of deep cleaning as the shower head did not look clean. Other than that, the rest of the room was decent. A huge shoutout to the staff and food at MEAT restaurant at Amber. This was the best experience we had all trip that we booked that for dinner twice. Another huge shoutout to the waiters at the Village area - their service was amazing. I would not return to this resort as I have had better experiences at other resorts in the past.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great resort - food ok

Resort grounds were great , lots to do staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I got very sick after eating at the Al la carte restaurant. We only visited the buffet after that which was fine but not overly remarkable. Overall I was disappointed with the food. The beach was very good lots of activity.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Majestic Mirage, Punta Cana

The hotel has been fairly well maintained and repairs are going on constantly. They try do this without inconveniencing the guests. We were in a smaller room than the last time we were at this hotel but no complaints with it. Our Butler, Elvis, did an excellent job. Some of the food was excellent and some not so. Over all I would give this hotel an A1 rating.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Fabulous resort!

The resort is beautiful. Loved our room both times we've been to the resort. Everything is so well kept, and the staff is great! The entertainment group is extremely energetic, loved them!! Things changed a little in the Sports bar , and missed the pizza joint by the casino. All in all awesome trip! Lots of family and friends along ❤

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good resort

We stayed in gran ventana 1-15 of November, 2022. We had upgraded package and enjoined vintage club and all privileges that it provided including late check out. Food was good in the buffet. Visited all three restaurants. We did not like service in the ocean grill. Italian restaurant was good. But octopus was the best. Great service, good food. Weather was good. Couple of rains that did not affect our stay. Walked 180 km in 15 days by the beaches. We had some problems with bathroom towels - ma [... read more]ny times came from the beach to take shower before lunch, and there were no towels. Had to use face towel.. Also very negative impression for sunwing rep. He did not leave any notes on when return bus is picking us for the airport. So ee ran around asking and collecting piecies of information. Sunning app did not help at all. It did not show current stay. When we entered reservation number, it said that this trip is already linked. But did not show information.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Grounds and Beach

The beach, pools and grounds were breathtaking! The room was clean, with a traditional tropical decor. I would say the room was more 3 star as it had some items needing repair. Bare minimum in towels and room cleaning was good but nothing extra provided, even the refill of the shampoos and soaps were not done. The food was not very good. Lots to choose from at the buffet but I had stomach cramps after eating there. The restaurant at the beach (Tequila) was much much better plus the view. [... read more] The service at the bars was quite frankly terrible. Warm drinks and grumpy bartenders. I speak Spanish AND we tipped them and that did not seem to change their moods. The service overall at this resort was not good, the people are not helpful but still expected tips. We had about 3-4 staff who were very friendly but the rest nope. We went for 4 days and that was perfect. We enjoyed the beach and an excursion and unlike many other vacations, I was not sad to leave. It was the perfect amount of time at this resort to enjoy the sun, beach and the country without getting too sick, annoyed or hungry. I would recommend it, if like us, you were focused on the beach part and the adventure. There is no luxury at all. A true 3 star should be the expectation.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Nice but not 5 star !

The grounds are beautiful, the best feature of the resort. The beach is terrible, brown water, difficult to enter, jellyfish bites daily, and view from beach is a oil refinery, which at times smells! Dinner reservations are frustrating as only 5 restaurants available. although Bahia website said 6 restaurants but when you get there La Gourmet is not available to Bouganville guests. Reservations very difficult to get yet when you go restaurant it’s not even half occupied. The safe in our r [... read more]oom wasn’t even bolted to the wall, just sitting there for anyone to walk in and take. Travelled with another couple their safe was the same. Rooms are outdated and need renovation, the bed is rock hard ! Pool towels were worn out and looked like they were very old and had to use towel cards or be charged $10 per towel at end of stay, not 5 star! Buffet for breakfast was good, lunch buffet at beach was low quality food, main buffet would not let you in at lunch if in a bathing suit regardless of the cover up being worn. Only option then was pool buffet Bar drinks were limited for example no flavoured vodka or gin, drinks were not made the same twice and many times the server did not understand what was being ordered. Glasses at pool bar not being washed just dipped in dirty water and then reused, so glad we had our own drinking mugs! Service overall very unprofessional, unpredictable and not comparable to the Bahia’s in Mexico and Punta Cana. Lobby shows in evening were terrible, it was the staff dancing to the Bahia theme song over and over or silly games, no professional show in the 11 nights we were there. I feel bad for the staff having to do it over and over ! Stayed for 11 nights and was ready to come after at night number five! Very disappointed

Dreams La Romana: Beautiful, quiet family resort

The resort is very picturesque with lovely landscaping and a long shoreline. The ocean is calm and is great for swimming and snorkelling. Rooms are small - they only allow cots in suites. Service is very attentive and food options are plentiful. There are even resident flamingos. We enjoyed it greatly and hope to be back one day.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults Only: Nice Layout But Poor Advertising

The Adults side of the Be Live experience provided access to both adult and family sides, yet they didn't advertise any of the daily activities - which made for a poor experience of a guessing game when things would be happening.

THE UPGRADES TO THE WALKWAYS AND THE HALLS IS EXCELLANT THE ROOMS ARE ALSO AIRY AND THE DECOR AND BEDS ARE GREAT WE WERE ON THE MAIN FLOOR WITH A WALKOUT PRIVATE SEATING AREA LOOKING ONTO THE POOL AND THE SWIM UP BAR THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY . Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice resort

Nice hotel with well maintained gardens, lounge area and clean rooms. Restaurant was clean (with few holes in the walls which I think it would cost lots of time and $$ to fix). Plenty of food, drinks and coffee. The customer service by the reception was very helpful, especially Diana, who I hope will soon be promoted, as she is smart, nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Entertainment team was great, dancing and singing all the time and making most people feel good and to enjoy their vacation. The only weird thing we encounterrd was at the Rodizio restaurant...Oh, boy, they need to change something there soon.. I have seen and heard soo many complaints...It is supposed to be an "à la carte, resto...well it is not. That would be ok, but the way they manage to explain the serving and how they serve 1 plate to 3 people...it was hilarious and pathetic. Pools were great, beach as well...just lots of algae. Overall, nice resort for the money.

Punta Cana Princess: Decent resort

Small adult only resort. Staff are awesome. Food is great at buffet and alacartes. Nelson is fantastic personable swimup bartender who I can’t say enough positive things about. Other notable staff include Felix, Israel, Juana Iris, Christobalina, Ordalaina, Carlos among others who all took great care of us. Rooms are dated. We were given a room with a toilet that had to be plunged constantly from the start. Tried to get it fixed since it was a great location but asked for transfer to diffe [... read more]rent room which they did. Pool was disappointing because of algae present at walk in ramp. They were working on the pool before we left. It was refreshing however and we did use it. Bathroom is tight even for average size people. Staff really make this place work

Ocean El Faro: Nice family resort.

The overall experience was good! We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids (one of them is 7month old). The hotel amenities are just good for families with kids (Waterpark, lazy river, playground, kids club, all areas are equipped for strollers, high chairs). My kids loved lazy river and great number of pools, I also liked Waterpark as I was mostly there with an infant. The beach area is good, but it's always stormy at Punta Cana, so it was dangerous to swim in the ocean(red flag almost all of  [... read more]the time). Food was OK, but sometimes they run out of some meals and don't replenish (even if it was still 1 h before breakfast ends up). Also they often run out of dry beach towels at the pool changing stations. This happened twice to us. We were trying to get dry towels in early afternoon and they said they don't have any. Ala carte restaurants are good (we visited sacura (Japanese), Dolce vita (Italian) and Margarita ( Mexican ). Shows are average. I would still recommend this hotel. It's good.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: We had good vacation but won't be back to this resort

We enjoyed our vacation. Hotel was only half full and it obviously helped to our positive experience. Food was good, no line ups to omelet station in the morning :) Rooms need updates badly. The worse part for me was that hotel advertises itself like quite place where you can relax ... however in reality their beach boards marina with number of private boats belonging to different tourist companies. Each boat has music playing on the loudest possible settings. So imagine at least 15- 20 boa [... read more]ts waiting for tourist and playing 20 different melodies .... In front of the beach ( literally 100 meters off the shore) is a dolphinarium and snorkeling place, where these boats taking tourist still playing music as loud as they could possibly do. It was major to me and really annoying. I came to relax and spent time playing with the ocean and reading my book.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Changing times

Beautiful birds, fish, lush gardens all around, good service, kind and caring personnel all over the place , nice rooms , spacious beach but people flooded them after Covid , sea weeds like other beaches, average entertainment ,the loveliest given by our beautiful children dancing shuttle bus was great, security was noticed which gave sense of safety, they all made us to forgive the lack of food variety, quality known of Iberostar ? You pay 65$ a person at the restaura [... read more]nt ? no good beef, and Mexican restaurant foods were not great surely higher management trying to compensate for Covid losses , may be same for other resorts ? I wanted to book the big modern nearby riu palace at 1200$ pp rather than the 1750$ pp we paid , but my wife thought Iberostar had super foods , based on the good recommendation of martine from tripcentral we had been to Barcelona palace and the food was great that was before Covid . Airport a small mess , our plane was late 2 hours, they changed the departure gate without people informed , and they had to search for the bags of that rouge late passenger , may be he/she did not notice gate change, the screen changed so fast ? And the few transat personnel were only at the departure gate busy with long lines , the whole airport is not adequate for the huge traffic , I noticed buses loading people to jets almost pumping in with wings of planes like human traffic in crowded bazaars in less gifted places against all safety standards of dedicated lane design in airports

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Needing improvement

Air conditioning was not working in a entire section of hotel....very hot in rooms. Food was over salted and boring in buffet, no Covid restrictions. Check in was a night mare. We are several times repeat guests and nothing was done to recognize that. Overall sad to say failing grade from this repeat costumer.

Our opinion on this resort is as follows VERY clean VERY well laid out Handicap accessible VERY welcoming Beautiful beach Rooms are basic (needs a table) Food was fresh, nice selection Needs some work on entertainment Overall would DEFINITELY recommend!

This hotel is a 4 no where near a 5 rooms extremely dated broken drawers paint splatter all over outside pool tiles missing from swim up grounds are beautiful staff friendly was very disappointing with food
