Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Resort was fantastic!

Everything was great at this resort. The beach was nice and we never struggled for loungers. The food was exceptional and the room was very clean. The only issue we had was the non-stop pushing us to go to their meetings to sign up for whatever they were selling. We did not attend but it never stopped.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Good Times

Overall, we really enjoyed this resort. We stayed at Beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bar staff at Strickers were especially brave when dealing with the mass of students at the bar. Shout out to Alex, pool bar/Beach, and Jonathan wait staff/Captain Morgan's. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Repeat Customer

We have been returning to this resort for several years. After years of travelling to many islands and resorts we found this gem. Food, service, amenities are all top rate. Beautiful beach with lots of lounge chairs and huge pool. We book the swim up room for our own pool lounging terrace. Will be booking soon for next year.

NYX Hotel Cancun: Great Resort But....

It is small but well maintained. There are a lot of stairs but everything is easily accessible. Upon check in we were not told that there was an Air Canada Rep on level 2 until the last day when we inquired on our check out time. Also, on check in we occurred 3 x $32.00 for Environmental fees that we were not made aware of when booking the trip or when received the tickets. So that was an expense that took away from our excursions because we had three rooms to accommodate everyone. The food is also great and the beach is smaller now compared to our stay in 2008.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Resort!!

We had an amazing vacation. Resort offered a lot of activities. From morning till night we enjoyed the activities, great food and night entertainment. Cirque du Soleil was the best!! Food a la Carte was excellent.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Everything you hoped for in a family resort

There is something for everyone. It was absolutely fantastic! Room was terrific and clean. Many pools! Food was great! Beach was awful but that is not the resorts fault! Restaurants were terrific!

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Been to better

Overall the resort was fine, weather was good, service was great, people were great, accommodations were average, but fine, food and drink was good. My main grip is the waterfront, really no beach to speak of. Retaining wall, rock and were there is beach, can't walk out because of the stone under the surface. Weeds is another major issue, water area became clogged with weeds.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice resort but service left a lot to be desired

Resort is very nice but service and food left a lot to be desired. The best food we had was off of the resort. Housekeeping didn’t even clean the rooms, all they did was make the bed and empty garbage. Bathrooms and the rest of the room weren’t cleaned or wiped down the whole time we were there. They even re-folded dirty wet towels that had been left on the floor to be changed. Wait times for drinks at the bars was long and the caliber of the entertainment was terrible. Barcelo Maya Riviera: Amazing Time! Beautiful and Clean

My fiance and I had a wonderful time at Barcelo Maya Riviera. PROS: 1. Cleanliness: This resort was spotless and it was obvious how much care and effort went in to keeping it clean. Bathrooms, pools, and public areas were cleaned very often and room service was available to come daily. Was very impressed. 2. Food: The restaurants on site were amazing for dinner, offering your choice of 4 course meals or buffet style in most cases. During the day, we ate breakfast and lunch at the buffett, which was excellent; huge with tons of variety and options. You'll need to make reservations in advance for dinner FYI. 3. Staff: Staff were excellent, professional, and very attentive to our needs. Very wonderful people. CONS: 1. Noise We were fortunate that we were in a room far away from the Lobby bar, as it can get pretty noisy with music until midnight. The hotel is also so large with no sound absorbers on the walls or ground that sound echos in the hallways. I heard fellow guests complaining of the noise level at night, luckily, we were barely affected being near the oceanview suites.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: A piece of Paradise

Where to start. You have to do the Royal Level. The suites are amazing. the grounds, the staff, the food are all top notch. No need to leave the area, unless you have the Xcarat park usage included in your vacation. We did. What a great park. Beautiful exhibits and the wild life is amazing. This was an amazing and wonderfully relaxing vacation. I recommend this to everyone. Be prepared to walk as the hotel area is large as well as Xcarat.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Resort.

Everything was good except for the washroom of our room, the flush was broken we have to complain 3 times but not fixed completely and the Bathroom Exhaust Fan was also not working all 5 days after the shower it was completely foggy. Secrets Huatulco: Great Vacation!

For the most part we loved this resort. As every review mentions, the service is top shelf. Our only complaints are small things, which we only mention as constructive criticism. We were hoping to escape the "beach chair game" but alas, it was on in full force here, as is the case with other all inclusives. There were also little things that kept coming up, like no change to be had for tipping, good but underseasoned food, and lack of proper wine glasses. Catalonia Royal Tulum: 3rd time at this resort

As always, the food is exceptional and so is the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. However, we are not techy people and don't rely on cell phones on vacation so we found reservations difficult to navigate.

Dreams Huatulco: Nice Hotel

We all had a wonderful time. The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Golf course nearby was also excellent and convenient. We enjoyed the buffet restaurant the most but also the à la carte restaurants. Steven pools plus a nice beach. Would definitely visit again. Park and Fly voucher was an added bonus.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very disappointing

The resort was very run down and out dated. The room door could not be locked. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the mirror would stay fogged up all day. The beds were uncomfortable. The food was not good anywhere in the resort. It was cold and tasteless with little variety. We ate mostly of the resort. The entertainment was very unprofessional and not entertaining. The desk clerk told me that I was to come down at 11 to catch my ride to the airport and that there would be a Transat rep there to help us. We came down at 10:30 and there was no rep. The clerk told us to sit and wait and they would get us when the bus came. At 11:10 I asked where the bus was and was told that it had left at ,10:30. With our flight leaving at 12:30, we got a cab to take us to an ATM machine on the way to the airport. When we got there we were told that we would have to catch the next flight out on Thursday. After talking to the gate attendant, we were told that if we run all the way to the gate, we can board the plane. We then found out that there was no boarding pass issued for Gail. After we made it through the metal detectors, we got on board and realized that we were missing one passport. Once we arrived in Toronto, customs told me to go to the Transat desk and have them call PV to locate my passport. The girl at the desk was too busy texting on her phone and handed me a card with customer service number and told me to call them. So other than that. The trip was ok

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing reasirt

Absolutely loved the Wyndham alltra playa del carmen resort. The staff were super friendly, the room was excellent, the buffet and AL a carte restaurants were excellent. The public areas were very clean. Highly recommend

We returned Feb. 8th from the hideaway. This has been our fifth time to Mexico as well as 15 times to Cuba. I look for value in my vacations I thought i received what i paid for. I had researched my trip before we went reading the good bad and ugly. It was not bad like a lot of reviews in my opinion. The alcohol was good they had canned beer you can ask for extra in your fridge pen and paper on night stand. At first thought my dark rum was off or watered down but does taste different with pepsi. The food was good we went to ZEN we went in afternoon and booked on a cloudy day great show and food. We went to HUNTERS we did have to come back an hour later to get in. We to Dorado and Italian no wait at either sports bar twice no wait and dinner on beach on Wednesday night with no reservation. The towel game not as bad as expected lots of chairs on beach and yes was seaweed as expected. The pool does get crowded by 9am chairs are gone. The lady will give you towels and take your room number. They do run out of towels but some people ask for 5 or 6 towels for two people. The bartenders are great work very hard when its busy. Sometimes you have to wait takes time to make blender drinks and all those shooters. There is wait staff around the pool and at beach I did not feel i had to tip but i did. Our room was what we expected we did pay the room selection fee for Building one facing the pool. We could see in the morning when chairs were being taken we did not want to face the mangroves. We could hear a couple shows from our room. We did not have to deal with the front desk with and problems. We also did the couples massage with the hydotherapy was a good experience and my wife said good price. So yes i would go back again for the right price and I would book diamond club if I found a really good price otherwise we were fine without. I think some people want the high end resort perks for what you pay here

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing Accessible resort

I recently vacationed at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Riviera Maya. This was my 11th time visiting this resort. I have always return to this hotel mainly because it is accessible, but also for its great value, amenities, food and service. My one complaint is that as a returning guest, I was continually harassed to join the Iberostar Club and book directly with the hotel on future visits. Once I decline, the hotel concierge staff should not pursue the matter. Otherwise the trip was ver [... read more]y enjoyable. Travelers should be made aware that there is a new visitor tax to be paid at the airport or online, but the website was not functioning and the kiosks to pay at Air Transat in the terminal are not setup yet. Regarding the accessibility, it would be great if the hotel could add a few more wheelchair accessible spots on the beach in addition to the existing two. These spots are in high demand, so a couple more spots would be greatly appreciated. I wish the travel industry would make note of resorts that are accessible like they specify if a resort is adults only, golf, spa, etc.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great resort

Very well kept resort. Grounds are beautiful. Beach is nice and well maintained. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the food is excellent. Only qualm is entertainment. Not very exciting around pools during day and the bars could use more variety of mix.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Meh

Resort is nice however there are certainly things for them to work out. Beach is gross because there is swamp that runs right into the ocean along one side .. with all the garbage that's sitting in the swamp running down (along with who knows what else).Tons of seaweed that they can't keep up with (no fault of anyone but not a clean beach).... Flooding btw the beach and resort when rains.. Being beside the swamp creates and awful smell in the rooms in building 11 on that side, you cannot leave  [... read more]your sliding door open. Rooms are nice, nothing grand but clean and nice. Shower runs out into the bathroom after shower (doesn't drain well so floor is constantly wet (we had to leave a towel on the floor to soak up water - not a big deal tho)). We experienced theft out of a zipped backpack and staff said they'd do 'investigation' however, another member of the staff said nothing will transpire (they were being honest). Fridges were never stocked unless you called and asked them to come. Staff on beach were wonderful. Most other staff seemed as though we were HIGHLY INCONVIENCING them by asking them for food or drinks though. ONE bar is decent with great staff (cocktail bar in lobby across from cafe)... however, we did not feel impressed with any of the other bars or restaurant staff, in particular the Mexican bar beside the gift shop had horrible service (however, the VIBE team that entertained there were great!). Water park is cool but everyone in our party left 'injured', with major cuts and bruises from the slides. The gym is awesome and overall the food was 'good'. The bowling was fun and the 'play zone' activities look cool but for the amount of rooms the resort holds, there is definitely going to be a hard time gaining access to those activities, it's a very small space (which you do need a reservation for).
