Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great time at a great resort

We had been to this resort in 2009 so we knew the hotel, beach, etc. We did notice a bit of wear and tear in terms of the hotel grounds and rooms (for example, lights on paths to villas not all working, legs of patio chairs rusted) but nothing that affected our ability to have a great vacation! Hotel rooms were nice and spacious as we remembered, a bit musty so I might bring some kind of air freshener next time. We did have a little ant problem. There were a couple around the bathroom sink from  [... read more]the get go but then I made the mistake of emptying the rest of my fruity drink from the beach out of my travel mug into the sink. When we came back from supper, the sink was covered in ants! :( so I'd recommend rinsing any glasses, mugs, etc and the sink, and not leaving anything sweet out as I left a pack of opened mentos on the tv stand and the ants covered that as well. Other than must and the ants, we loved this resort. Great beach, pool, bars, restaurants and very friendly people! We liked to sit, drink, and listen to the live musical entertainment near the lobby at 830 then head to the show for 945. Overall, a great time!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: An average resort

The hotel was good,service was great.The room we had was clean and made up everyday.The grounds were well manicured.The resort is large and you needed transportation to get around if you were tired walking.The resort is spread out.The beach had sea weed all over and rocky areas so you had to be carefull going in.It was very windy the time we were there.The food was the same almost everyday.We went to 3 alacartes and enjoyed only one of them.We did not like that at lunch time the main buffet area [... read more] was closed and you had to go eat at the one near the beach.It was far from the main lobby.The staff is very friendly and helpful.We found the swimming pools were very cool to swim in.There is a lot of walking to get to the beach or to the lobby were the resteraunts are located.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Average resort but horrible bugs

We went in Dec 16-23, 2014. The resort was average. Pool was just OK, room was out dated. Food was not very good. But staff were friendly. The ocean was green but blue. I got at least 40 bites, from mosquitos, sand mites, and maybe bed bugs. I saw some people in the resort have lots of bites, too. So I will not return because of this.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Absolutely Amazing Resort

We had wonderful vacation at this beautiful resort. The food was enjoyable, as was the entertainment. The only drawback was that there was very limited wi-fi accessibility. The staff was pleasant and the resort was always neat and clean.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Resort

My husband, adult son and I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Iberostar Daiquiri from Dec. 21-28, 2014. The room we received was in the Baracoa unit and this was ideal as my son is an avid kite boarder. He had direct access to the path that lead to the beach area specifically for kite boarders. We we [... read more]re at Memories in December 2013. The room, beach, pool and eating were all within a comfortable walking distance. I also appreciated the little shops where you can buy some souvenirs to take back. The food was average and you had the choice of three restaurants; Cuban, Mexican and Italian. Reservations must be made ahead of time for these restaurants. There was a shortage of beach towels for 3 days so we didn't have any. We were also short of towels for one day in our hotel room. This was soon rectified however it is a reoccurring problem. Do take your own beach towel with you.Mosquitoes are quite fierce at night so do take insect repellent also. I used Deet 17% and the mosquitoes were still biting me so do take a higher per cent. The evening entertainment was limited although we did enjoy the first evening's performance of international dances. Water sports are included in the all inclusive price. We went paddle boating and on the Catamaran. Staff are all very polite and helpful. Dec. 22 was my birthday and a lovely bottle of sparkling wine was placed in our room. One area of contention was that the pool area was constantly blasting music from two loud speakers so there was really no peaceful place to go and just read a book or snooze. I would have appreciated a time when there was quiet or very gentle music playing. Blasting music does not mean that everyone enjoys it. I certainly didn't. My son will definitely go back as he loved the kite boarding. If I ever go back I will definitely take stronger insect repellent as this was the only part of the trip that made me uncomfortable. For the price I considered this a really good deal.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Better than expected

All aspects were great. The French restaurant was exceptional. The staff was very attentive to our needs for everything. We loved the long secluded beach and had fun in the surf. Being able to enjoy this resort that is just 1 year old was a real treat!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing stay

We stayed in this hotel from dec19-26/2014 and have to say it exceeded our expectations, we visited Cuba in the past but this was whole another experience, good weather, good food (and lots of it), nice drinks and most of all beautiful and friendly staff everywhere we went. The rooms might use a little reno but they still function, however part of the resort just reopened the day before we left after renovations and it seem to look very nice and fresh. We would recommend this resort to anyone.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: The best all inclusive ever!

Exceptional service, and outstanding food including the buffet. Clean, tasteful and although a large resort - all three of the hotels were located on the beach so nobody had more than a 5 minute walk to the beach. A short ride from the airport with no planes buzzing overhead. Fitness classes were great and the gym and spa were also amazing. Can't say enough about it, look forward to returning!

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Amazing

beautiful beach, amazing resort, clean spacious rooms. Lots of entertainment and restaurants. Amazing pool with a beach look out. Has something for every age. Can't wait to go back with my entire family.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: family fun

All was excellent. Lovely staff with good amenities. Some in disrepair but rectified upon notifying staff. Food was above average...recommend booking a la carte restaurant reservations immediately upon arrival so not to be disappointed. Tip well and you will receive five star service...otherwise...

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Remarkable!

Only compliments to give this resort. 1. The food and restaurants were amazing. My personal favourite was the steakhouse for lunch and dinner. 2. The staff were constantly cleaning so the grounds and pools were spotless. 3. The Junior Suite was plenty - huge king bed, spacious washroom, Internet throughout resort. 4. The staff were always friendly. 5. The beach had more than enough tikki huts for all. Some pebbles on the beach, but not in all areas. Amazing itinerary of activities for all if interested - childrens beach party with marshmallow bonfire, water games, dance party, table tennis, volleyball, water exercises... And so on. A very short drive from airport with great organization of shuttle buses and staff who make sure people get the right bus. I will return!!!!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Trip to Mexico

We are lucky to got this trip,everything was perfect.Room was clear,food delicious ,beach nice,entertiment great.Stuff was very polite,always ready to help.We went with kids 2 and 8 years old,they were happy.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Iberostar Tucan Vacation

I went to the Iberostar Tucan December 15 for 1 week. Had a room closest to the beach and pool area. That was great. The pool is beautiful, beach amaizing and close to Playa des Carmen which is a must for shopping. If you g0 in the evening lots of nice restaurants and bars. The pool bar is gorgeous but set back and separate from the main pool area. The hotel is really set in a jungle type setting which isn't my style but the location of the room made up for it. Staff great and the food was great [... read more] too, even the desserts. Nice size, easy to walk back and fourth. Great for children because of the jungle. The room itself was perfect. The walkin shower great. Once again if your looking for a beautiful view from your balcony this hotel may not be for you. It is truly more of a jungle type view but the room was perfect.

Hotel Mojito: Great Resort

I enjoyed this resort a lot, the people were very friendly and would set out to make conversation with you. The pools were very nice and the food was great! I enjoyed the wide variety in activities that were available each day.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: No need to leave the resort.

We stayed for one week (during one of the busiest weeks of the year) and it did not feel crowded. Food was excellent. The only challenge (which is not unique to this resort) is trying to get a chair by the pool in a desired location as some people get up early and reserve them wit a towel or book and the chairs sit unused for half the day.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Excellent Choice

For a family of five, with three young adults, it was a great resort. It was very clean, lovely suites; the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful, and the food and beverages were very good.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Very good resort for families

Property is clean and well maintained; food is good; kids area is excellent; beach is wonderful; only complaint - dinner reservations at the restaurants are difficult - hard to get and yet the restaurants are empty (very curious??). They need big theme nights for dinners that are open to all - and more outdoor dining would be good. Overall - excellent.

Hotel Mojito: All we wanted, expected, and more!

The staff was absolutely amazing! Excellent service, good food, good entertainment, well kept grounds and installations. Weather was awesome in early November. Beach was the nicest we've seen ever! We would return to the Mojito any day!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing resort

Just return : 2 January 2015 Spend the New Years in Iberostar ...good choice. Check in: It was great, they had a room with tables & chairs, along with champagne for adults & juice for kids. They gave us a quick welcome greeting, scanned our passports & gave us our packages. Park Suite, 2nd floor, huge rooms. Minibar is restocked everyday and the HDTV was great. Lots of cartoons and HBO movies. The food was good, always plentiful selections and great service. Beaches are gorgeous, ..10.. 15 m [... read more]in waking, some sea life to see around, barracuda, starfish, clownfish, squirrelfish, stingray. The entertainment was great and the staff were always friendly . High recommended Flamingo show. Grounds: Very lush, lots of trees, bushes, plants, amazing flowers, cactus. Many birds, hummingbirds, butterflies. Nice pathways & walkways throughout resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Excellent Resort, Good Food and Great Beach

So, this is Cuba and if you haven't visited Cuba before then you need to understand that you are visiting a country that has been under a US embargo for > 60 years. They don't have a lot of anything. There are quite a few rough edges around the resort if you compare it to a country like DR or MEX. However, Cuba has a vibe about it that is infectious. I *love* Cuba, not because they run out of towels every day by 2pm or because they occasionally run out of lemon juice for the mojitos but because [... read more] the is an energy and strength in the Cuban people that is inspiring. This hotel has one of the nicer beaches from the water line out. Its pretty narrow on the dry side, but on the water side its wonderful. The white sand is clean and warm and just about perfect. Its also 10 minutes from Playa Pilar (look it up if you aren't familiar). Food is good and wholesome. Rice, beans, pork and chicken for the most part with some nice Fish and sometimes Shrimp. The food isn't fancy, but it is filling, flavourful and there is lots of it. This hotel has the best "Show" of any of the dozens of resorts I've visited. I am not a big "show" guy and I often skip but those shows I did watch were impressive. My wife and daughter agreed that they were the best. The music in the lobby was great, awesome atmosphere all round. We've been to a few different places in Cuba and the Iberostar's were my favourite. I like Iberstar Varadero because you can head into town easily, but if you would like a beach filled vacation there is no doubt that this resort is an excellent choice.
