Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great times at Paradisus
Another great visit to Paradisus Rio De Oro. The staff were awesome, always there when you need something and quick with a smile or a Spanish lesson! Not enough time to engage in all that the resort has to offer, but there is always next time.
Paradisus Varadero: Wonderful beach, plenty of lounges to enjoy sunshine or shade and not crowded !
Nice restaurants, friendly staff, food not always warm but plenty to chose from. The family Concierge is very modern and spacious. The old part is getting nicely renovated, could use updated furniture. Beds are comfortable and everything is very clean.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia Cayo Santa Maria
The first room given to us wasn't acceptable because of plenty of small ants and the smell of mildew. The second room was perfect. The food and entertainment were also very good. Staff very pleasant and fun to be around. Grounds very clean and taken care of. Lovely beach as well.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Less than expected
We (myself and girlfriend) usually go to Mexico but this time decided to try Cuba out for the beautiful beaches. I knew that a lot of aspects would not be up to par or even close to what is offered by majority of Riviera Mayan resorts, therefore decided to stay at Paradisus as it is rated 5 stars and is one of the priciest resorts in Cuba. I am going to break down our experience into several points: 1. Beach/Pools: Did not frequent the pool but the beach was amazing. There was a weird smell d [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: Rustic Retreat in Cuba
The staff of this resort were simply incredible; very friendly and anxious to solve any problem. The infrastructure itself however, was in sore need of refurbishment, painting and repair. The room was clean and everything worked. I did not like the insecticide fumigation performed most mornings at 6 am. and occasionally during dinner hour. It would have been nice to receive prior notification as I can understand the need for the fumigation. I also found there were limited things to do and som [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Excellent Resort
The Resort was very clean and met our expectations. The food was surprisingly good, Cuba is known for bland food but this hotel was good. The restaurants were disappointing but the Buffet was good. Nice Pool and beach.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very Relaxing Holiday
The Hotel was clean with great service and friendly staff. Beach was always clean and organized. Restaurants were great especially Sakura(Japanese themed restaurant) and the buffet was great. The pool was always kept clean and there was lots to do.
Paradisus Varadero: Amazing Experience
We stayed in the new Family Concierge section. Just opened Nov 1, modern, spa feel to the rooms. The grounds and resturants are beautiful. The staff are super friendly. Can't wait to come back next year.
Tryp Cayo Coco: Tired, seen better days
Hotel has seen better days. Tired, need repairs, 1/3 rooms are closed. Food is poor quality fit the price. No plates for meals, unless you are there when it opens. Same for food selection. Beach not been restored since the hurricane, lack of chairs, towels.
Hotel Vigia: Friendly resort
The resort as a whole is very nice. The staff are amazing, they are both friendly and helpful. This includes front desk, bars, housekeeping, gardeners, buffet staff and entertainment. The rooms were a really good size with lots of drawer space. You also had self controlled air condioning with controls that work. The visual effect of the resort is very relaxing and beautifully kept. The night time entertainment is really good. Lovely long clean beach with lots of chairs. The only thing mi [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: Sol Cayo Largo
This was a great vacation the rooms clean but the beds very hard, the food was as good as we have experienced in Cuban resorts, the staff was hard working and very attentive to our every need. The first day we had no water pressure but that was repair by the next day. the pools were clean and well taken care of and the ground were as well. We truly enjoyed the beaches and there was always chair and shade huts for us to use, the chairs were not covered with towels if nobody was there to use them. [... read more]
Sol Varadero Beach: Slightly above par
This is my third time at this resort, the staff are great, the property is clean and well kept, but in the past you could at least count on a couple of days of good food. Unfortunately in my opinion they dropped the ball this time, don't get me wrong I dident starve . But that would be the only complaint for this trip.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort
Very nice , comfortable , friendly , very good food , lots of delicious fish choices , tons of restaurants , endless bars , very good service , amazing snorkeling just couple of hundred feet away from a beach
Melia Varadero: Very nice resort. There was the second time for me and my husband.
The hotel newly decorated , the service exelent friendly atmosphere, the rooms are nice. The beach is butiful, and clean.Only thing they have to inpruve this is the food. The pr manager I have to said in the 4th floor Oscar is very nice and friendly helpful person.
Melia Marina Varadero: ok
The guide in the bus was impolite, saying to one client, if she wants to do her job, because she was commenting about the water. She tells that we should go to the information session, because the session guy is taking his time and it will disrespectfull, not to show up! And to tip the driver, because he stays late to drive us. The room smells humid. Food was good, beach and pool great, Be Carefull ! Rape drug???? Make sure you bring back the beach towel, they will charge you 32$.
Paradisus Varadero: Wonderful Stay!!
Large group of family and friends; we really enjoyed our stay with the highlights being the beautiful beach (nice white sand and no rocks) and the restaurant options and excellent food. The pool was very large so you had lots of opportunity to swim. Only issues were with limited wifi access (and you must pay) and constantly running out of hot water which can be a drag on vacation. Would still recommend this resort and it is very good value for the money.
Melia Marina Varadero: Good resort
Rooms needed some work. The sheets were dirty, the pillowcases were dirty, and the room would make loud banging noise whenever you ran the water in the shower or used the toilet. We got the level room so I expected something a little better. The front desk check in girl was not very friendly upon our arrival. Our key cards also did not work when we came back from dinner and we had to go back to the front desk 3 times. What made up for the initial disappointment was how amazing the service staff [... read more]
Sol Palmeras: Sol Palmeras
The bungalow was beautifully situated where we could see the water and hear the ocean's roar especially at night. also, a short walk to everything---- the beach, juice bar;icecream kiosk, several restaurants ; bars and buffet. The layout of the pools, sitting areas and grounds were colourful and and carefully manicured. Our bungalow was very private---spacious ---and comfortable. It was my first time at this resort and I will return and recommend it. The people who served us in [... read more]

Melia Las Dunas: Melia Las Duns
Excellent vacation, good food, great people, beautiful grounds. Will go there again. Highly Recommended. Rooms can use some updating, but are a good size. Bathroom had a high soaker tub, clean. Would concider taking my daughter and grandchildren there, I felt very safe.
