Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Resort

We sure enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Ensenachos with our little family. Everybody had a great time. This is a very big resort therefore lots of walking to go everywhere but you can also take a cart to drive you around if needed. The gardeners are working very hard to keep the grounds meticulously clean. They are very friendly. We can't say enough about the staff working everywhere, they all tried their best to make sure everything was perfect for us. The beaches are beautiful with their whi [... read more]te sand and the pools (kids and adults) were kept very clean. The food at the buffet was good and they had a good variety to please everyone. The only complain we have is that the lighting along the path to return to your room at night is not very well lit so bring a flashlight if you think about it. All in all, this is a beautiful resort, we had an awesome vacation and we would definitely return.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Loved coming back!

Thank you Tripcentral for all the info updates re: travel\Covid/reviews. All were so helpful in our choice to return to the Iberstar Daiquiri. We (three 60something women) had a great flight to and from the island. Customs on both sides were no problem. My sister and I had been to this resort quite a few times and were not disappointed. Yes, we understood that the Cuban land and its peoples are in a difficult situation but they greeted us with such warmth and cheer. Rooms were a little ru [... read more]n down but spotless. The food was simple but ample....and the fish!!! OMG!!. Loved the pig roast; loved the beaches; loved the entertainment. This was the first time to Cuba for my friend who has travelled quite a bit and I had hoped she wasn't disappointed. Nope, she also fell in love with the people and place and will come back again. Yes, there were some issues: flies in the "Big House"; ran out of wine, both red and white; no door on the closet. But really? no complaints here. Thank you to all the staff ...LOL...especially the Bellman and Front desk. Thank you to the cleaning staff of the Trinadad building. Hope to see you next year!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great escape

Ground, pools, beach were all excellent. Staff was awesome. The only negative was the lack of certain foods but we were already aware of shortcomings across Cuba before we booked. Overall excellent vacation, would go again

Sol Palmeras: Great vacation!

We stayed at Sol Palmeras for a week at the end of March 2023. We travelled as a couple and brought our MIL as well. The resort itself is beautiful and quite large. We stayed in the main building and did not upgrade our rooms. They were nothing special but were clean. The pool was awesome and the beach was fabulous. The resort offers a variety of activities which we very much enjoyed, especially the basketball & volleyball. We were pleasantly surprised by the food selection and quality. Everythi [... read more]ng was fresh and no one got sick, there was something for everyone. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would return.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful time

Spent last two weeks of March here. The beach is awesome. It is the reason we go to Cuba. The hotel is a nice size, the beach is maybe a five minute walk from any of the buildings. The lobby is big with lots of sitting areas. The rooms are good and spacious and bright. The a la carts were repetitive - same food in the French and Mediterranean. The Cuban was the best. The food at the buffet was iffy, we were just after March break but it was pretty bad even for Cuba. Things did get bet [... read more]ter the second week, but you couldn’t rely on something being there the next day. If I was bringing kids here (or probably anywhere in Cuba) I would bring peanut butter, ketchup, Nutella, crackers, salad dressing, etc.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Punta Peninsula/ PGS Varadero

Despite new ownership, again, resort remains as before with the exception of food choices. Staff at all levels are exceptional. Nancy at reception was very helpful in sorting out an initial booking issue. Hola Sun rep Leidys also very friendly, professional and helpful. Special thanks to Cheylin and Alexander We were the only Canadians in the resort that week.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very nice resort

Entertainment team was great, Yaremin(I think that is how it is spelled) dis our pool activities, Yoga, stretching, cocktail classes. Dennis was a great teacher for the Dance lessons. A shout out to Ana and Rosa who also did some Drinks lessons and stretching. The nighty entertainment was great. Nahvi was a wonderful voice and very personable. Odennis at the Port Royal restaurant made the best drinks and was very helpful and always pleasant. Never had a problem finding food on the resort. Clean [... read more]ing staff kept washrooms very clean. The Havana tour was very good. Jo our tour guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about Cuba and the History. He gave us able time at each stop and was very accommodating to our questions.

Hotel Los Cactus: Fantastic time!

The resort was wonderful and we had a great time. I was mostly impressed that they fogged for mosquitoes which I am allergic to the very tiny ones called noseeum. We only wished that the hot tubs were a little bit warmer for at night and that the little coffee café would open in the morning. Overall everything was fantastic.

Villa Lindamar: Relax and recharge

We are not the kind of people who return to a place twice. However, this place will hold a special place in us. The wonderful beaches, gracious staff and peaceful setting of the resort was everything one wants when thinking of a retreat in paradise. Thank you to the entire staff at Lindamar. See you again.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great Vacation!!!

March 24-31, 2023 Beautiful resort, gorgeous beach, weather was hot and sunny. Ocean front room had amazing view. Check in and out was fast and easy. Transfer to and from resort was good as Air Transit rep was very informative and there was lots to see. Food was better then I thought it would be. Great vacation. Would I go again - ABSOLUTELY!!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Amazing Staff and Great Resort

In our experience, the staff was extremely helpful, attentive, and friendly! The resort was clean, the room was comfortable, and there was always a place to eat and grab a drink. It was beyond our expectations! We plan to return.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great hotel and service

We came back 2 days ago from Cuba We, me and my husband had a great time in this hotel Iberostar Bella Vista Varadero. The room was clean and with enough space to move around with all the necessary things. The entertainment at the beach and the swimming pool was fun The Lobby bar tenders guys was service minded and very Cham, the amazing coctel ready at anytime all around the hotel .I will recommended the hotel to others The food is an issue

Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Everything you need…

The staff of all ages worked diligently every day for long hours and provided excellent service to their guests. They are to be commended for their dedication and most of all for their patience in dealing with many demands and requests from their guests.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: For very picky people

Almost everything was very good and we got first class service from hotel's staff. It will be easier to list minuses, as there is only three. Buffet - Food was very good, fresh, choice of fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, excellent bread and a lot of annoying flies Room - renovated, clean, bed comfortable, fantastic view, but could not open the window for fresh air as there was no screen. Everything else I would say 10/10. I am really happy with our trip.

Grand Memories Varadero: Worth the money

Beautiful and clean beach and pool, food was good but not so much variety which is understandable because of all the global shortages. The only thing that needs to be changed is the Mattresses in the bedrooms. They are extremely old and uncomfortable to the point that I was better off sleeping on the floor

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort for a relaxing holiday!!!

The hotel is great. The buffet was good but shortage on some food supplies. The staff was great and friendly. The only issue we had was that the housekeeping was helping herself to our Canadian change we left on the television area. We left her the gift and tip money on our bed for her but we were really shocked the she helped herself to our change. We never ever had this happened before on our trips to Cuba.

Sol Varadero Beach: Absolutely Amazing

When we booked this originally. It was based on old pictures. They have recently updated the resort. We weren't sure what to expect when getting there. This resort was absolutely incredible. Beautiful updated rooms. Beach was one of a kind. There was quite a bit of selection for the buffet food. Also the 24 hour snack bar was on point. I don't think there was anything negative about this resort. Side note. 90% of the resort was French Canadian. Not that anything is wrong with that, just as a c [... read more]ouple that only speaks English it was limited in finding good conversations. Maybe just coincidence. Service was amazing as usual for Cuba.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great time!

I have been to Cuba several times and this was a great resort. All the staff are so friendly and accommodating and the beach is beautiful. The food is made very well despite all the restrictions. Would go again! The only thing - I wish the pools had more shade but the beach had plenty!

Paradisus Varadero: Opportunity for improvement

This hotel has good bones but has been allowed to get run down Beautiful water pools in the main lobby should be filled with water lilies and tropical plants. Not the case - one pool does have carp and a turtle but the others are polluted. Bad first impression The beach is beautiful as are the pools. Lots of seating and umbrellas The resort is hugh but they have a great golf cart transport for those who don't want to walk. Food is not what we have been used to at a 5 star resort but [... read more] for most people there is always something to eat. They still struggle with running out of some products. For example ran out of eggs, sliced bread for tart 2 days out of 14; no butter. At dinner they always served the same thing - para, chicken quesidiela or grilled chicken. Like I said however most people where able to find something to enjoy for dinner Disappointing that they closed 2 of the speciality restaurants with no compensation for the client. I have to question how they tach Taff to wash floors. On more than one occasion I witnessed he maids taking water to wash the floors from the polluted water in the pools. Then they threw the dirty water back in the same pool. You could see the bristles from the brush floating in the water. Rooms were basic but kept clean. Beds comfortable. Bathroom design was terrible in 3524 a wheelchair accessible room. There was no way to have a shower without flooding th floor - a disaster waiting to happen The outside lighting entering into our room was burned out. I reported the problem the first morning after we got there. It looked like the tried to fix it but were unsuccessful and didn't come back in the 14 days of our stay. It is dangerous to try and navigate a wheelchair ramp in the dark. I did trip a few times on the paver and almost fell. Good thing I had travel insurance. When we booked our trip, I requested wheelchair service at the airport - no issues, a great help. I also requested a room on the first floor as there are no elevators at the resort On arrival, they had my husband and I in a room on the third floor. It took the rest of the day to find us accommodations. House staff denied that I made a request and tried to blame TripCentral for not submitting my request. The next morning they admitted that they did have the request. There is a lot of potential to improve this resort. I understand that they have a new manager who just arrived from Spain so perhaps he will get things shipshape again. As far as COVID - good spacing in the main dining hall; some staff wore masks No restrictions in tour buses but tourists wore masks. Hope you find this review helpful.

Playa Pesquero: Our 6th Visit to this resort

We have been coming to Playa Pesquero over the last 19 years. I believe the resort is now 20 years old, and it is getting a bit tired. There are some repairs that should be done, that would require them to close sections of the resort. The place is massive, so it would be possible to do renovations and repairs in sections, I think. Food - we are accustomed to the fact that sometimes there are shortages, and they do the best they can with what is available. When we were there in 2022, there were no potatoes, so they did a lot of rice and yucca. This time, they didn't have butter for a couple of days. So, if you are willing to roll with it and not be bothered by shortages, the food is fine. Service - I did notice longer waits than we have experienced in past trips. I don't know if it's because of staff shortages, or training of more staff. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but I noticed a difference. The staff is courteous and helpful as always, and it's so worthwhile to just strike up conversations with them. They are amazing people and very interested in hearing about Canada. I would definitely return again, but I will not recommend it to anyone that hasn't been to Cuba, as some people's expectations are not aligned with mine.
