Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great weather but would not return to the resort

Iberostar Laguna Azul was a disappointment. While the weather and the people in Cuba are both wonderful, the resort's rooms were not very nice, often the public washrooms were out of toilet paper, and the food was middling at best. The Cubans are wonderful, but this resort is not.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Simply the the best!!

This resort is the best you'll find in Cuba. The staff work day and night to clean and give the best service. I would definitely stay there again. The beach was amazing, the food was fresh and there was something for everyone.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Relaxing vacation with a few issues

The hotel grounds were beautiful and even the food had good moments. We did have issues with the rooms (no towels, minibar fridge not working) but overall the stay was pleasant. The beach was a definite highlight and also the outdoor restaurant.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Beautiful grounds and beach.

Grounds were excellent, room was a disappointment, service was excellent and staff very friendly. Only thing that we did not care for was the food. It was the same thing day after day and we did not expect cold cuts.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Wet but Stress Free!

Just back from a week at Rose Hall Beach. The resort was great. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. Our room was simple but had everything you needed. We had a great view of the ocean and pool area. The only down side to the room was that you did not have any view while seated on your balcony due to the solid rail. The restaurants were good. You had to go early to get chairs. We went to the beach one day. Mainly because we had rain five of the 7 days :(. The beach isn't what I was expecting as it wasn't as broad and they worked on gathering the seaweed daily. The lobby bar was a hoot! Gregory, Andy and Kevin were the best! Overall I think the resort was great. Wish I could return when the sun is shining! I would recommend it!!

Hotel Mojito: Iberostar majito

Did not like the location of the lagoon & the fact it was between hotel & beach. The beach was great when tide was out but at high tide there was no beach. On the positive side staff all over the resort were the best I have ever seen. Service was great everywhere & this made up for other shortfalls.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Family Vacation

It was good overall. GOOD: - Food was awesome and they accommodated and cooked food without salt or oil for our baby. - Staffs were kind. - Pool was clean and well kept. - The games and small activities are going on throughout the day and that kept us busy and fun. - I loved the mini shows done by kids. We didn't get to see the night shows till the end because of our baby, but from what I have observed, I think they were okay. - The room was well cleaned. - wished that we had more towels becaus [... read more]e we had a baby. - Common areas are clean and well kept. BAD: - Beach was not very clear because they had a lot of seaweed and corals. But because of that, we were able to see some fish! - Swimming pool was cold. - We had a room facing poolside and we liked it, but it can get loud if something is going on at the pool. Two nights when we were there, there was a wedding and the music was SOOO loud. I think many people had issued with it too. - Our in-room fridge was not working properly, we had it replaced and the same thing happened again. I had to call 5 times before someone come by to fix it. That was frustrating. - Specialty dinner was hard to get the spot.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: First time but definitely not the last time

Our trip was amazing. It was a whole package ( beautiful and clean hotel, warm, friendly and fun staff, lot's of entertainment, Cuban music which makes your hips move even without realizing it, all the food to keep you full, the amazing beach and of course all the pina coladas with grenadine you can drink which was my favorite ). You and your kids can not be bored just not enough time to take advantage of it all. We will definitively do this again. I wonder why we did not do it sooner.

Hotel Mojito: Excellent family vacation

Clean rooms, good food, friendly employees with excellent service, lots of activities for kids, beautiful beach. Only downfall is, more attention needs to paid to public washrooms; the cleanliness and replentashing supplies

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Absolutely Amazing - The Best Holiday Ever!!

My husband and I have been going on cruises for years but after our experience at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall we will probably never cruise again. The hotel was magnificent, the staff were superb - highly professional yet very friendly and more than willing to take care of all of our needs. The food was five star in terms of quality, quantity and variety and our room was very large and very well appointed. I can't say enough about how fantastic this hotel is...We are already planning to return next year.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great Vacation

The hotel was good. Had the basic amenities, was clean, the property was always being cleaned by the staff, the entertainers were great and the people were friendly. The food was not good, only the Japanese restaurant was good. But if you go with the mind set knowing that the food isn't great, you'll be fine. We went on the Havana excursion, which was great but we felt rushed and the Cataraman excursion which is basically a day on the boat. I carried a bag full of clothes to give to the lady who cleaned our room and she was super happy. Overall, we had a great vacation because we had had read up on the place and did not let little things such as the quality of the mattress or the force of the shower ruin our vacation.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Not the 5 star we expected when it came to food.

The grounds were kept up very nice and the pool area was really nice as well. The service was good overall. Our room was very nice, large, clean and quiet. We are beach people so we were very happy with the beautiful beaches, how long they were and how quiet and non crowded when we went for a walk during the morning. It didn't seem as busy as we are used to in most places so it was easy to find a quiet place up the beach away from the crowds. This is our third time to Cuba and stayed in 3.5 to 4 star resorts before and found the food better, so with this being ranked a 5, our expectations were higher and certainly let down. The food is mostly kept under heating lamps instead of chafing dishes in the main buffet that didn't help much at all, so most buffet food was barely above room temperature. If you wanted something hot, you had to wait in line to have fresh meat or pasta cooked. I am okay with waiting in line, but 20 minutes for hot pasta and then another 20 minutes for hot meat left the other one cold by the time I got them both. 30-40 minutes standing in line for hot food does not define a buffet. Two people cooking at both the meat and pasta stations during the peak hours would speed things up. We went to the Italian and Japanese restaurants. Both disappointing. Italian creamy tomato basil soup tasted like no name canned soup with a drizzle of cream and sprinkle of dried basil. I had the chicken and the sauce was just plain and milky and the chicken so dried out I couldn't chew it. How do you go wrong with chicken? Japanese had potential but STOP PLAYING WITH THE FOOD! They put the meat strips on to cook and should have served it within minutes of putting it on the grill. Instead they wrote words with the meat. Then finally they placed it on the plate and then wrote "Cuba" on my plate with the sauce. By the time the last people were served and the meat hit my fork, the meat had been cooking for 30-40 minutes. The beef was like leather and I couldn't chew it. The pork barely chewable and they were out of chicken so I couldn't order the dish I wanted. Shrimp was like rubber. All this meat should only have been cooked a few minutes and then served as quickly as possible. Then our chef left at least half the food on the grill and went away and did not return. After 20 minutes, we asked the waitress if she could ask the chef to come back and give us a little more rice and vegetables as they were not quite as overcooked. He offered my husband more and then left, not offering anyone else at the table of 16 more food. Why would you not ask anyone for seconds? Website says internet available but it was down the entire week. Internet is not a necessity but we do like to touch base with our family once or twice while away. We read there was a shuttle running between beaches. We ended up walking it each time and never did see a shuttle. It is a long walk between areas and the shuttle should be running regularly. The beach bathrooms are very run down. Often no toilet seat, no toilet paper, no paper towel and no soap to wash and dry your hands. A five star hotel should at the very least make their bathrooms a priority. We dreaded going to eat and going to the bathroom. Hopefully some of the great service we experienced in other areas of the resort can be put into serving hotter, fresh food and maintaining the beach bathrooms better. We still made the best of our vacation and enjoyed the amazing beaches and quietness of the area but will try somewhere else next time.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice Resort

The resort itself was beautiful with friendly staff. The rooms were clean but uncomfortable beds. The food was okay. The hotel public washrooms need more tending to - you shouldn't have to take your own toilet paper to a hotel washroom. Requests a few items to the room never arrived.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Breathtaking Family Christmas Vacation

Our christmas was amazing at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach resort in Jamaica. Our room was overlooking the pool and a great location. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food amazing (especially the christmas eve gala!), BBQ lunch on the beach, etc. Would highly recommend!!!

Hotel Mojito: wonderful holiday

We stayed at the Mojito from December 13 to 20, 2014. By far this is the cleanest, best resort we have stayed at in Cuba off the five times we have traveled there. The staff were simply amazing. Their customer service was top notch. The buffet food was good. The a la carte dinners were quite good. The cigar lounge was a great place to spend the evenings, and it the house band was a nice treat. We will definitely be going back!

Hotel Mojito: Good time, great people, hot sun, refreshing water

Friendly staff, rooms where clean, we had a great stay. Buffet food - lots of variety, not impressed with the a la Carte experience - tried them both. Other options on the resort makes for a full stomach all the time. I traveled with a vegetarian and a picky eater and there were very few complaints. Overall a Super value for your money.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: the resort.

I found that the people. We're very friendly and the food was very good. But found that there was a few things I noticed the door to our room was differcult to open with the card and the safe was broken but everyplace has its good and bad things.we went on one excursion and the kids enjoyed it I would go back to Cuba maybe to a different resort tho.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Wonderful vacation

The site was beautiful and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The activities were fun and easy to participate in- no long waits for anything. The towels in our room were very worn- one even had a hole in it. Otherwise, fun,relaxing, and gorgeous sceneries.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: People are lovely, but this is 2* resort...

Upkeep is lacking, our sheets had blood stains and holes everywhere (in the blanket, on the sheet itself). They were only changed once, after 5 days, when we requested it. When we got into the room, 75% of the lights weren't working and had to be changed by a handyman (he was very nice and came very quickly). Ground floor rooms are unbreathable as they're heavily sprayed. Food is really bad, I sustained myself on pizza and guavas for a week, but that's Cuba... Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Excellent all-inclusive resort!

The customer service here was top-notch. Every staff member that we interacted with was great and made us feel like they were truly there to make our stay carefree and fun. Bed was comfy, a/c was just right, oceanview room overlooking the golf course on the left side of the resort (third floor) was lovely and private. Food was overall great, except the steaks. We were there from Dec. 01 - 08, and the weather was perfect every day. The surf was perfect also. Massage on the beach to the left of the resort - walk along the gorgeous beach (very clean), - only $35 US for 60 mins and it was truly the BEST massage I've every had. Didn't try the spa at the resort, but of course prices at the resort spa were considerably higher. Overall, we were very happy with our time spent here.
