Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful Beach & Stunning resort.

We really enjoyed our first trip to the Valentin Perla Blanca, the beach is second to none, as well the resort itself beautifully designed, the lobby bar view to the ocean is amazing. Amenities, food and service were all good, not at the exceptional level you would expect from a 5* resort but this review is just a year past their opening date and they were making great strides to get things organized and in better order, it feels like they are still in the process of getting all their operationa [... read more]l kinks out. The lobby bar had one of the more extensive bars that i have ever experienced at an all inclusive. The onsite bank was extremely helpful and offered the same rates you will find elsewhere. Much of the landscape and gardens are new, very nice, but i am curious to see how beautiful they will be when they mature. Food is very good for Cuba standards, the menu does rotate often and things that are their one day are not there the next, shortages are always present, that said their is always something to eat and lots of it. Pools were nice, one was not operational and undergoing renovations. Entertainment was ok, some days the animation staff was really good, other days not so good. I would be very interested to see what this place will look like given another 5 years. I would not hesitate to return to this resort, it's big, modern and beautiful, and seriously the beach is amazing.

Second time to this resort,,,,, enjoyed it greatly,,, you don't go to Cuba for the food,, you go for the people,, beach,, and let me tell you there is no other beach that can compare ,,, been to Cuba , Mexico , Dominican ,,, and will go to memories again ,,, so don't hesitate go go go

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: ANOTHER AMAZING HOLIDAY AT MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

This was our 3rd time to this amazing resort and each time it gets better and better with one exception. I want to comment on the positives first. The staff, as always was incredibly warm, kind and accomodating. Seeing my friend David (lobby bartender) was like time had not passed since we were there 1 1/2 years ago! He's the main reason we keep going back to this resort! I would have loved to be able to spend some one on one time with David but being at the busiest bar in the resort does not le [... read more]nd itself to socializing! Be sure to look for him when you are there! He's the one who is ALWAYS smiling! We took along our 23 year old son, Nicholas, this time and my Husband and he rented motor scooters and off they went to do some fishing. Well, as luck may have it they caught 3 big red snappers (one was 8 lbs!!!). We had the VERY BEST fish dinner that evening when Lazaro (the chef at the seafood BBQ pit) prepared a delectable feast for the three of us! How incredible is this to have this made especially for us?! This chef knows how to cook his fish!!! Mucho Grazias Lazaro! Now to address the only negative experience. Unfortunaley we had very heavy rain for 2 1/2 days (we were actually very lucky as it was suposed to be raining for 5 days!!) and although my husband and I took advantage to get some much needed R&R, our son was bored out of his mind! There was an "entertainment Team" but they did NOTHING to engage this age group! Even if they just hung out with them it would have been nice. Thank goodness Nicholas is an outgoing and confident individual as he quickly made friends but they were still bored! For myself, it would have been nice to have some KARAOKE or something to get us engaged. When the rain stopped the Entertainment Team had a fashion show around the pool and they did some dancing for us but that did not help engage the 20+ age group of guests. It was my son, Nicholas, who took the bull by the horns and asked each and every person at the pool to participte in a game of water volleyball! He had two teams going in no time and we ALL (young and old) had a BLAST! We got to know people from various places, laughed, drank and just had a great time! Personally, I feel the Entertainment Team needs to improve significantly! A guest should not have had to initiate this! Even when there was a Karaoke evening it seems it was more for the staff to enjoy than the guests. Although the Entertainment Team left much to be desired, it was just a small thing in what was a TERRIFIC AND MEMORABLE vacation! How nice is it that Lazaro (the chef) the chef came to the lobby to say good bye? Why would anyone stay anywhere else in Cuba? We are already planning our 4th trip hopefully in January 2016!

Valentin Perla Blanca: quiet and,relaxing

Its a lovely hotel,the staff were wonderful. Sussy and Randy were great bartenders and,servers. The food is not the best but,there is something even for fussy ones. The rain came in during our week so ,we will travel later than October next time. Overall we enjoyed our time and,just relaxed.

Memories Paraiso: great for the money

best foods ive had in ten trips to cuba ,id go back there again .friendly staff even late at night when ppl are being dumb.clean rooms, well looked after grounds .great beach ,good entertainment lots of wild life if you look for it .

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort

Excellent hotel but some improvement is possible. The cook is maestro who prepares a very good food. I would say that I ate there probably the best stake ever. But when I asked for a fresh salad the response was we do not have it. No mango at all. Ok it was not a season for mangoes there but in Toronto every grocery store had it. No natural orange juice. Sand beaches and the ocean are wonderful but not paradise on Earth. It looks more like desert because there is no palms on the beach. The resort is full of wonderful vegetations but beach is not. It seams to me like beach belongs to the government who does not pay attention. Beautiful palms like I saw next to the catamaran marina would make these beaches real paradise on earth and bring significantly more tourists. At the end I would recommend you to check a weather forecast. Rain is no problem. If falls it brings a rescue from sun for one hour which is welcomed. Strong wind is a problem. It brings large waves which makes swimming less pleasant. It also brings jello fish. I got bitten three times. It is not a terrible experience but is not enjoyable either. Aleksandar

Memories Paraiso: Great beach

Beautiful beach, one of the best I've seen so far ;) food average for Cuba, people very friendly;) front desk not so helpful when call down to ask a question they would not answer the phone. Had to ask daily to have the fridge restocked. The pool party with the bubbles was great fun. And the market just up the walkway was great.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort.

The hotel was very nice & clean. Staff very friendly. Buffet areas were good with a variety of choices. A la Carte Restaurants are a good change from buffets. Bar areas are well stocked. Bring your bug spray and watch out for the sand fleas.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort!

This resort was really clean and had the most amazing staff! The rooms were very nice and the grounds were very well kept. This was our first trip to Cuba and we are already planning another trip back to this same resort.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort!

I was truly surprised to find this level of quality in a Cuban resort. The food was truly amazing. There are two restaurants, no buffets, and a 24 hour snack bar. All meals are sit down with good portion sizes. Grounds are maintained impeccably, the beach is clean and the pools have a stunning view of the ocean. The staff delivered excellent service and I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing adult giveaway.

Melia Buenavista: Better Than expected

It was a beautiful resort. Small but intimate. There were always lounges by the pool available, and the food was much better than we expected. The rooms were great, and the outdoor shower was icing on the cake!

Valentin Perla Blanca: We had a wonderful vacation

It is a very nice NEW resort. The food in the buffet was very good with lots of selection. The bartenders in the lobby are awesome and kept the drinks flowing. Katherine a waitress in the lobby bar is the sweetest person. We would love to go back when the other side is open for business.

Melia Las Dunas: Not a bad place

The hotel in general is ok. Nice green area. Good pool. Room are below average. No ac in many rooms or barely working. Very bad mattresses( worn out or piece of foam on top) lots of ants. Good restaurants and food, staff is very friendly.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Quite resort.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is great! The food menus list not exactly accurate and makes it difficult to order. What you read is not necessary what your gonna get! Overall is was a quite resort.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome Resort!

Excellent resort, excellent vacation! We had an ocean view junior suite and it was perfect. Lots of room and an awesome view. We used the lower pool most of the week and we wouldn't change a thing. There is no swim up bar but Alberto or Yidel came by every 20 minutes to bring us our drinks...no swim up bar needed! The Pina Colada's (and every other drink) at the lobby bar were sooooo good and Freddie that served them was great too! There was always someone available to drive you to the other res [... read more]orts if you needed them. The spa and gym were within walking distance. We walked both ways along the beach and what's in front of the Royalton is definitely the nicest...we even saw a stingray in the water our first day there! There is no buffet but we didn't miss it at all. The food was great and we never left a meal hungry. If I had one complaint if would be the mosquitos but that's not a complaint of the resort...just bring bug spray and bite cream

The resort was pretty clean but the food not so good rooms were average but have to say they didn't change our coffee cups all week and coffee machine not working in my or my sisters room washrooms on resort had toilet paper 10 percent of the time and ask for more they said sorry none left

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Highly Recommend

The grounds were beautiful. Hard working gardeners where busy maintaining, shrub's, flowers, grass and trees. Along with the pools and ocean this made the surroundings fell like paradise. Everything was always very clean. Public washrooms, the lobby, theater, night club, 24hr. snack bar, all four swimming pools well maintained. Staff, Elvis and Justin will help you get set up with any none motorized boat of your choice. They will make sure you are comfortable and can operate the water craft safely. My husband and I stayed in building 9 on the 3rd floor. It was an excellent location with a breath taking view. The first thing I noticed about the building was how clean everything was. The floors, stairways and room spotless. Our maid Yudito made sure we where comfortable. Our fridge stocked with bottled water and soda. The coffee machine had lots of supplies. He would doctorate our room using different materials on our bed and using the curtains across the sliding doors. There was always lots to eat. They even had peanut butter and ketchup. At breakfast the chief would cook and season anything of my choice , fresh as I watched. Lunch was always a fresh barbeque with lots of salads, rice and pasta. My favorite was the barbequed chicken, sausages and roasted potatoes. Again at dinner the chief would cook anything of my choice, fresh as I watched and seasoned to my liking. The deserts are among the best I have had. The cakes are so good, very light. Our servers, Manuel and Jari along with many others made sure we had all we needed to enjoy our meals. In the lobby Denise would attend to us as we relaxed and listened to the pianists. I would defiantly return to is resort and recommend it.

This is a beautiful resort with lots to do and we would highly recommend this resort to anyone that wants a memorable trip to Cuba. Resort was clean and well kept. No complaints about food, room, or the resort as a whole.

Memories Paraiso: Resort was beautiful

The grounds were lovely. The rooms were nice & maintained. Dining was nice too, lots to choose from. Staff were wonderful, very helpful & friendly. The only thing I really was disappointed in was the public washrooms, many times there was no toilet paper.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Nice resort, wonderful staff

We went as a couple in October over Canadian Thanksgiving - the resort was not full, so all of the amenities were easily available. The resort is nice and clean, a lot of walking is required; not recommended for persons who require accessibility. The beach was nice, the rooms adequate, the food could be better but nobody is going hungry, staff are friendly and top notch. We had a relaxing week, but would probably not return to this resort again because one week is enough to experience it all.
