Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

Everything about this resort is pleasant. Very clean . What makes the resort are all the friendly staff. They remember their repeat customers. The beach always has enough chairs. The entertainment staff try a get people to participate in the games. Thank you to Mari and Francisco at the reception desk. The food is always excellent. Thank you to Robert our waiter in the buffet. The bar staff are amazing as they get to know all their customers and know what they drink after the first order. The ni [... read more]ghtly entertainment is very good also, especially the production of The Circle of Life. This was our 4th visit and we will be returning in the near future.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Spectacular Resort

We stayed at Iberostar Hotel and Resorts in Puerto Vallarta Dec 4th through to Dec 11th and really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was very new and was very well kept up! Staff were very friendly and always there to assist you with anything we needed. We were questioned by staff several times during our stay whether our stay and our room was meeting our expectations and they were open to any suggestions for making anything better.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great all-around resort

We liked everything about this resort. The buffet food was very good, while the taco restaurant and creperie in the mall area were fantastic and a daily treat. The pool is huge and always a shaded place to relax. It's a bit chilly but great for a cool off from the hot sun. The beach was the highlight, tons of shaded huts to sit under. Turquoise water, mostly sandy bottom (watch out for the few rocks), and nice big waves to play in. We spent most of our time here. Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: OK

Peoples are great, rooms very clean. My only negative points are; the buffet was to small, not enough choices (ex. only 1 fish, 1 chicken), and we couldn't sit in the lobby and get a Cappuccino before 8am. Beach was nice and clean.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Nice Resort

Excellent location, close to water, currently rooms under renovation. Service was good, friendly staff through out the resort. Windy conditions for the week I stayed which dumped a lot of sea weed on the beach, no big deal, better then snow.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing Resort

This resort was absolutely fabulous. The beach was beautiful, the rooms were clean, the food was great, and the staff were wonderful! The friendliest, kindest people we have ever met at an All Inclusive. There was always lots of things to do if you wanted to participate in any activities. Or just sit back and watch the daily entertainment. The entertainment crew and waitresses, Angel, Apple, Danika, Diandra, Smiley and Dwight (to name a few) went out of their way every day to make our stay a mem [... read more]orable one. And that they did. The evening shows were very enjoyable and well done. The jerk chicken at the beach barbecue was unbelievable. I can't believe that people post negative reviews about this resort. You must be very hard to please! We'll definitely be going back.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Average Resort

It is definitely not a 5 star. When driving up to the hotel from the street, the outer appearance and well groomed grounds look impressive. Pools and public washrooms were well maintained. Rooms were not kept very clean, no attention to detail. Apart from breakfast, the rest of the food at the buffet was just ' slop '. Deserts were great. Entertainment was good. ' Wait staff ' were absolutely fantastic! All night snack bar is a disaster. Burgers,hotdogs,fries etc. are preprepared and sitting in  [... read more]a tray for probably hours. When you arrive for a snack, burger is thrown on the grill to warm up, bun is microwaved and fries are thrown back into the fryer for a few seconds. The Japanese a la carte was absolutely fantastic! The Italian was terrible, we left most of the meal and the Cuban meal was so bad, that we had to return it and walked out of the restaurant. I told the waitress that I would not serve that to a dog. It was that bad. The meat could not be cut with a knife, it was so stale and charred from the the grill, the banana chips in batter, must have been 4 days old, could not even bite through it, disgusting experience. Lounge area was filled with smokers puffing in your face at all times, hence unable to enjoy the nightly beautiful musicians. ( the cigar lounge/bar is contained, so I can't understand why the same is not applied to regular smokers, after all, they are the minority) This problem should be addressed, it spoils the stay for all non-smokers, which are the majority. The furniture is old and tired, just worn out. The whole place needs a revamp. Not a 5 star rating for the reasons above.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good Resort but in need of room upgrades

We were in Unit 10. The rooms (close to the beach) in this unit were need of upgrade. We had to move out of our first (King size) room as it was stinking of a dead mouse/sewage...we moved and had to settle for two double beds- this room had a broken shower, and in need of painting and general maintenance ( the TV did not work well). The cleaning staff and maids were wonderful. The front desk staff are mediocre - slow service and unresponsive. The concierge service is poor. The food service was g [... read more]ood , the number of items were overwhelming but the food was bland. The food spread was the same everyday ( this is what you pay for in an inclusive)so it got a little boring. The Japanese restaurant is worth going to- good food and great service ; The Cuba and International restaurants have lousy food but good service. The ice cream parlour and activities at the resort are wonderful- the coconut cream was my favourite. There was no internet except in the lobby and expensive - 5 CUC ( $6.25 ) per hour-remember to cancel your internet session using http://1.1.1.1/ otherwise you will running down your internet while you are switched off. You have to ask for a kettle as it is not their policy to put one in the room despite the fact they supply the tea bags and coffee! It is a good resort but in need of room upgrades . Enjoy.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Best trip to Cuba ever!

This was my best trip to Cuba ever! Beautiful resort not too big not to small. The Cuban people working our trip! Everybody was so nice respectful and helpful! Shout out to Yurisan and the entire pool bar crew and every single person working at this resort!! Amazing. Beach is beautiful and a bar close by is always nice. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very nice resort

This resort is quite nice and the staff are excellent. My only complaint was that the locals were on the resort on the weekend. They kept to themselves and really weren't a problem, it just made the resort much busier - especially at the pool and restaurants. The beach is fantastic with plenty of trees for those who like a bit of shade. Lots of chairs at the large pool and at the beach. The food is excellent! Plenty of variety and everything is hot and fresh. The shows are great however they are [... read more] quite loud at night. We were in building 4 which has a nice view but is right beside the stage, so if you are someone who goes to bed early, you may want a building further away from the stage. Also, ask for a room on the second or third floor! There are no elevators but our room was on the ground level and was very, very damp The rooms are a bit dated - not 4.5 quality but clean. We paid $35 US for 7 days unlimited WiFi which worked everywhere on the resort, but they did have cheaper options available. There is a market off of the resort just down the beach a little that people may try to get you to go to. The people there are typically pushy, wanting you to come into their shop. I probably wouldn't go there alone. Overall, I would recommend this resort. It's very pretty with the tall palms, and it feels safe and clean. I just don't understand why locals are on this resort but not other resorts in the area.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Vacation

Resort was great although a little old and this showed in the rooms. Food selection was good although I wish they did not put pork meat in everything. Grounds and surroundings were very well maintained. Distance to the rooms not too long so that was good to walk back and forth from the reception and too far from the beach.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Best Vacation EVER!!

The resort was absolutely stunning. The rooms were very spacious, clean and the beds are super comfortable! The food, staff and atmosphere was more than we expected. Would go back in a heart beat!!!!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Nice resort

This is a nice resort. The food was very good, the grounds were well kept, the rooms were large but could use updating. The staff was great and the line-ups were small. Nice beach with lots of chairs. Pool area OK . Entertainment a little weak. Overall a nice resort and would have no problems going back here.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Paraiso del mar

We paid for the stay in Paraiso Beach ....but ....we were put in the Paraiso Del Mar side.....we were told the Beach side was full....not too happy about that at all...but the resort is a very good resort to stay at (Paraiso Beach side)

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Fabulous Alround - Exceeded Expectations

my husband and I were at the Punta Cana Iberostar from December 4-11 2014. Doris, took care of our room, Richard helped us at checkin, Marcos was amazing at the restaurants! Buffet and a la cart restaurants were some of the best we have ever had, and even the red wine was good! would go again and i rarely go back to the same place twice.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Fun, great food and wine

Only good things to say....we were very lucky with blue skies and great temperatures. l was surprised at the quality of good Spanish wine and premium brands alcohol....generally they are watered down, and not the case at all. Food was of well variety and taste. Beach, pool, staff and the Dominican people were all warm and friendly. Truly a great stay, especially with the fantastic price.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Great Resort

My husband and I stayed at this resort for 6 nights early December. We have travelled to many resorts in this area and thought the rooms were great. Upgraded and spacious -very comfy. The resort was also very clean. Staying at the Suites side you can visit the 2 adjacent resorts (really it's 1 resort with 2 separate hotel buildings sharing the same amenities.) which is great as you can try their nightly shows, shopping, restaurants. We thought the food was good but did not try all restaurants, we heard the Mexican was great from people we met and we really liked the Japanese. We found the staff were very friendly. Nightly theme shows were fun and we found the daily entertainment was fantastic. This truly is a a fun resort. We would recommend this to mostly everyone except those looking for an adult only pool/experience. We had a great time!

The grounds were beautiful. The staff was beyond excellent. Chocolate (entertainer) was so enthusiastic. Marlon went above and beyond the call of duty & the hotel dining area bar tender Gregory was amazing. He always had our drinks ready & waiting. All the service was done with class, style & a smile. My only complaint was not being informed of the daily hotel shuttle to the local clubs (Margarita Ville & Pier One). We found out by chance 4 days into our stay. The resort was very well taken care of and food was great!! It had very friendly staff who were very welcoming. There was always recreational activities to do if you were to stay there for the day. The shows at night were always very entertaining as well.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Great Holiday

Had a great holiday. Staff was great inviting everyone to join in the activities without being pushy. Food was wonderful. Variety on desserts could have been better. Need to learn what apple pie is (there idea and ours is very different. Evening entertainment was outstanding. The resort it self has a beautiful infinity pool and the ocean and beach is very clean. You can snorkel right at the resort seeing a large variety ocean life. They do a great job keeping the beach clean and free of seaweed. [... read more] The hotel is quite large and could use more signs directing people to the lobby/beach/restaurants and pool area as it is a bit confusing getting around. The Alacarte restaurants had good food but nothing special. Only the main course served to you. Salad and dessert was buffet style. Overall had a great time.
