Sol Varadero Beach: Paradise exists afterall
Hotel was comfortable, service second to none, beach was the best in the world, the pools are magnificent, wonderful bar pools. Great snorkeling. The Cuban people are friendly. Every day the chamber maids would not only do my bed, clean the room, ensure there was a fresh new supply of towels and bottled water but they would do magnificent elephants, birds, boats or other artistic designs with the towels. They truly treat you like Kings. All you have to do is enjoy life. I also made friends with [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Very good smaller resort with amazing beach
Travelled with our two kids aged 3 and 4. It was our second time and it still did not disappoint. Very family friendly, great staff (who basically live off and greatly appreciate tips as they earn about $20 a month). Appreciate all the updating they have done since last year. Not enough hot water pressure in the late afternoon, this may have been due to our room being on the first floor or some seasonal issue. Otherwise amazing beach, kids programs, very attentive staff and loads of Cu [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Nice Resort
We had the VIP Concierge service and stayed on the 5th floor of the main building. The view was beautiful. We could see the ocean from the front and back. The extras were a nice touch. Rooms are not fancy but they are very clean. There's plenty of room, with a sitting area, TV and a balcony. The cleaning staff and Concierge will ensure all your needs are met. The buffet is OK but the restaurants are very good. They also offer nice wines for a price. With our service, I had the lobster dinn [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Very Big
It was very nice. Grounds were well kept. Many pools.Rooms very nice clean plenty of towels. Beach was wonderful. Buffets was good .a la cart. We went to the Ialian resturant ordered tomato and meetball soup came with one meetball in the middle .that was a joke. Also went to the seafood ordered lobster. Received 1 teaspoon of lobster. All and all we were only there for 3 nights and 4 days .we did enjoy our trip. The staff at the hotel were wonderful.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Average Hotel but good price
The hotel was about average, nothing too exciting. The room was again OK.... the beds not the greatest. The beach was wider than I expected but it has a lot of shells and corals which makes it hard to walk in the shallow water. The food wasn't great but you can find something to eat if you really wanted to. I would not stay 2 weeks though. The reason we booked this resort was mainly for the low cost. For CUBA, I would give it a just about 4 stars...... not the 5 stars it claims to be.
Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort
The resort is great. We went there to relax and that's exactly what this resort is for. The room was amazing. King size bed with white fabric hanging over it. Very romantic and very comfortable. Very clean also. The ocean was right out our window. The maid came twice per day. At night when we were at dinner she made our bed again and put flowers all over it. Every night. The food was fabulous! 5 stars. In every restaurant. Even the snack bar. The food is definitely upto Canadian standards and be [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Best Beach! In Cayo Coco!
The resort was very large and clean. Gardeners every day cutting and watering and maintaining the landscape. Are room was modern looking, clean, and a quiet air conditioning! The beach was the best! shaded area was always available!
Melia Las Dunas: No Hot Water
We booked this trip for a nice quick 4day escape from the cold weather, unfortunately this resort had no hot water for the duration of our trip. The front desk kept informing us hot water would be on the evening/following day and it never came. Also beware of the cleanliness of the sheets and towels as we found blood on ours. Front desk did minimal to help us or compensate us. The resort itself was nice, The pools and grounds are well-kept. Food was average however waitresses and waiters [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Wonderful stay
The resort was very nice. The rooms were clean and more than adequate for our needs. The food was repetitious at the buffet and the hot dishes usually warmish at best. The presentation was good though. The three specialty restaurants were good and we especially enjoyed the oriental one. We went on the Havanna day tour and had an informative day. We also took the hop on and off bus to Veredaro for 5 cucs. Fun. The nightly entertainment was excellent, especially the singers and musicians in [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina Varadero
This hotel is very nice. Great view of the marina, nice rooms and lobby, great nightly entertainment in the lobby. Good drinks and service. Buffet food very repetitious and not hot enough. Rooms were very clean and maid service was prompt.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Good times and great weather
This was my first time at the resort but we were with a group that has been coming here for years which had some advantages. Meals were great. I found buffet better than the a la Carte restaurants. There was construction throughout the hotel that we were not told about prior to so would have been nice to have a little discount because of that since there were saws going off all day and early evening while trying to relax in the lobby. Some of our lights such as balcony didn't work and you could [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort!
Beautiful resort perfect for relaxation. The service was amazing....the people there are amazing. Luidmila at the lobby bar, Jujelany at the royal service bar, Carlos the driver and Luis from the royal service beach bar. .... just to name a few😊
Sol Cayo Coco: Great resort.
Just returned from a week at Sol Cayo Coco. Like almost all hotels in Cuba it's a little dated but the new GM, Guillermo, is constantly making improvements. They have the best beaches along this area. The main beach out front is huge but can be very rough water. There is a calmer beach on the other side of the resort in the cove. Great spot for young children. The food was just fine, especially breakfast at the buffet and lunch at the pool bar. Can't comment on the a la carte as we don't go to t [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Our fourth time at Melia Marina
Still as good the 4th visit. Our first visits did not include the upgrade to The Level , but our last two did. We like the spoils of the upgrade, no running for beach towels, no standing in line to book restaurants, room service, late check-out, etc. With some patience we found the upgrade available at the same price as a regular room, but we book last minute. Remember you are located the farthest from the town of Varadero, so if you like to visit or enjoy active nightlife I would suggest you s [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Favorite resort in Cuba!
We have stayed many times at Paradisus Rio De Oro and we always stay at the Royal Service section of this resort. As soon we arrive at the resort we get a feeling of coming home , all the employees at the resort are working hard to make it a great holiday. Everybody is very friendly and always a smile on their faces. The food is very good and if there is something not there they will do their best to find it or you. Right now the bungalows are being painted and the interior is being refresh [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: good resort
Grounds are beautiful ,the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food wasn't top notch but this wasn't a 5 star resort though. The internet was a big challenge to log onto and log out , as result losing your minutes you just purchased. The resort had a lot of renovations going on.I would say in a year this place will be a much different resort.Over all we did enjoy our trip.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Resort!
I liked the beach and pools. The rooms and service were not that great but the food was good and the staff were friendly. I recommend this resort to anyone who wants to relax as it's a good value for the money you pay and a good relaxation after few months hard work.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Relaxing getaway
We went for relaxation and we got it. Found beach a bit rocky but still nice. Pool area and bar were great! Recommend getting a renovated room! (New bathroom). Staff were very friendly. The aquatics show at night was great!
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: A Wonderful Experience
We just returned from a week's stay at Princesa Del Mar. It's a lovely resort, wide open, with a magnificent beach, and friendly staff. The food is very good, and the tables outside the main dining room make eating outside a pleasure. The recliners, which previously were crammed in by the pool, have been scattered on the grass among the palm trees, giving plenty of shade. I had a couple of minor complaints. One was that our room was cleaned after 3:30, which interrupts an afternoon rest. T [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: The resort was ok
The resort is really starting to show its age. The grounds and beach are beautiful but the building, rooms and the plumbing are really showing their age. It really should not be classified as a 4 star any longer. The staff was very friendly as always, thats why we keep coming back to Cuba because of the people. We have stayed at this resort a couple of years ago and this time we found the food was just not good at all this time. The ala carte's were a major disappointment except for the [... read more]
