Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Family friendly resort - even good for babies!

We stayed in room 0810 - it was perfect, great location to the beach, pool, lobby and restaurants. I was happy to see that they accommodated us with two babies in hand. The baby care was fantastic - we dropped the girls off four afternoons for some r'n'r time. I have never left them anywhere before but they made me feel very comfortable leaving them in their care. The buffet could have used a bit more fresh veggies but the breakfast was great including bacon, and there was always fresh meat cook [... read more]ing on the grill in the evening so that was enjoyable as well. The beach is super. Do not expect communication to be consistent, some employees told me that you could go by catamaran to snorkel in the near by coral (they took some people but not others - frustrating). Staff said not to trust the taxi, and some said to trust the taxi. There was supposed to be a bus. Some drivers wanted 25 CUC but the fair price is 10 CUC there and back - be careful.

Memories Paraiso: Lovelier the second time around!!!

We just came back from this resort on Oct 10, 2015 for a week of fun filled memories... We came back to this resort after 5 years and was completely satisfied with the improvements of the services and entertainments. Food was great for us. No complained at all. So many choices if you are a kinda picky person. We enjoyed seafood specially the grilled fish at the restaurant closed to the beach. We also enjoyed Panini sandwiches station by the beach. We booked 4 a-la-carte's dinner to minimized the [... read more] portion of food we eat everyday...LOL! We arrived on a Sat morning and was pleasantly happy to see the atmosphere of the lobby. It's very clean and well-kept. It was a quick check-in. Very organized as they already prepared the envelopes with wrist bands and room passes for every guest. It was the quickest check-in we ever had in vacationing to South. We noticed that weekends are the best entertainments at night. We loved the fact that there's so much to see and watch before and after the nightly shows... There's band playing outdoor and it was just across the lobby. So even if you're lounging at the lobby, you will still hear the music playing and see people dancing. The weather was amazing. Sunshine for seven days. It did rained for two days, but only at night and didn't last for long. No jelly fish this time of the year compared to when we we're in Cuba this June. There's always something going on at the beach. Lively music, games, dancing, yoga and aqua fit classes. We we're at the adult section of the resort and enjoyed peacefulness of our room on the second floor with partly garden and ocean view. I emailed the resort ahead of time and was happy to be accomodated. I find tipping and giving little items as a gift makes them more nicer and provides you with their best services....Not that we're saying it's a must to tip, but we felt the workers in the resort deserved a little reward in returned for their hard work. Overall, we would recommend this resort to our friends and family. We are actually planning our vacation next year here. Thank you Melia Las Dunas. Hope you keep up the good job!

Melia Las Dunas: Awesome Resort Melia Las Dunas

My husband and I (and our 3 kids) have been travelling to Cuba for 15 years as we love the people, beaches and beauty of the untouched landscape and have been all over Cuba. In the past few years we have discovered Cayo Santa Maria which we love. This year we stayed at Melia Las Dunas for the first time. The  [... read more]Front lobby is amazing and comfortable equipped with a bar, store, a lot of lounging area and just a nice place to hang out. Great Ala Carte restaurants - Romantica has romantic sitting area outside for two and my husband and I were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and it was perfect place to celebrate (bring Off though mosquitos have a feast as well). The Rooms are clean and spacious but suggest that you do something about the front doors so lizards don't make their way into the rooms. If you could put screen doors on the balcony doors it would save on air conditioning because the night breeze would be lovely to sleep with the door open. Buffet you can get a variety of food and it was great contrary to what people say about food in Cuba (made to order pasta, pizza, made to order fish, meat, chicken, salads, fish stews etc - you will not go hungry) Yusinel, Frank, George and Martha were fantastic waiters who took great care of us the entire week at the buffet. Enjoyed the ice cream parlour every afternoon and of course the Beer Garden was a great place to hang out anytime and all the waiters there were awesome - thanks for a great time. The Beach bar and grill superb try their grilled sandwiches to die for ham, cheese, cucumber and a special sauce grilled. Of course the Pool Bar now that was a place to be in the afternoon - beware though sitting around the bar in the pool could be dangerous if you are not careful. Fun in the Sun with Javier and Yusieny (I am sorry if I didn't spell your name right) but she is the beautiful bar tender that works with Javier. Now I recommend you try the Javier special These 2 bartenders made our week they are fantastic, friendly and have a lot of fun with everyone- Big Big Thank you for making our vacation great. I bet you miss Billy Jo calling "Javey" need another special...lol miss you guys. Lots of bars Pool bar, beach bar, lobby bar, beer garden not only for alcohol but coffee, cappuccino, tea etc. nice sitting areas to relax. At night the Mojito bar was awesome - they did have a smoothie bar but it was not open while we were there. Grounds is very big but they do have golf carts to transport people around. Although one thing I was not happy with we had a gentleman who stayed in our building and he had a walker. A few times he called for a cart to transport him and he sat there for 45 mins. I had to call to the front and ask for them to come and get him even though he had already asked. This was not his first time at this hotel and he never had this issue before. - This was disappointing to me. Some suggestions I would like to make (this is not a put down just observations based on going to Cuba for 15 years). I feel the Entertainment staff needs to be more active with the guests, have more of a variety of activities on the beach/pool. The same things everyday get a little boring i.e. some more games like to get all ages involved. Same thing at the pool, there should be Cuban music playing in the back ground while activities are not going on we are on vacation want to feel the vibe of the Caribbean. The band each night was great and nice to listen to and see everyone dancing enjoyed that. The nightly shows however need to be greatly improved compared to what I have seen at other hotels. Although Carlos was great and his partner -sorry forgot his name but they were good in getting the crowd going. Other hotels the entertainers have been more engaged with the guests and had more fun I felt. I know that we went in low season (Oct 3-10) and not as much stuff may happen as in high season I felt there was enough people at the resort to be able to do more then what was done with the entertainment and some of the staff didn't make me feel like they wanted to be there. I was not impressed with some of the attitudes of the people who worked the front desk although one gentlemen (sorry can not remember your name either) shorter guy, with glasses, dark hair was very nice and extremely helpful thank you for everything. My Friend at customer relations helped and planned my anniversary dinner and my friend Billy Jo 40th birthday dinner and My friend Priscilla's birthday dinner and made our celebrations very special thank you. She is fantastic and very funny!!! Overall we had a fantastic time enjoyed everything, it was a relaxing, fun time for all of us and the resort was beautiful. I would recommend you go there you will not be disappointed.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Excellent Value

Pleasantly surprised with this resort. Food was better than expected, as Cuba doesn't have a very good reputation, but we found many things at the buffet that we really enjoyed for each meal. 1 1/2 hour bus ride from the airport goes quick and you get to see a few cities along the way and can buy beer for the ride. My husband and I really enjoyed our time here and most of the staff were very friendly. Internet/ phone service was the only thing we were disappointed with. Calling to Canada was ver [... read more]y expensive and the wifi in the lobby wasn't always reliable and staff working didn't know how to log in/out from our ipad.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach with wonderful staff

Grounds are very well kept and the gardeners work really hard. Our room is a little bit far but shuttle seems to be there whenever we need one. All the hotel staff are very accomodating and very nice. From cleaning staff to restaurant servers we admire them and thank them for all their wonderful service.

Melia Buenavista: One of the best Cuban Resorts we have been too!!

This resort was very clean, the rooms were gorgeous and the Royal Service was the best we have ever had! I have been to Cuba several times and have always had a great time, I love the Cuban people, they are always very friendly. One of the only downfalls of Cuba has been the food, it has always been mediocre, however, the Melia Buenevista offered all a la carte restaurants and the food was great! Melia Las Dunas: Gorgeous

Spa was wonderful and relaxing. Every package included time to enjoy the sauna, steam bath and whirlpool. All the staff were super nice and caring. A lot of activities going on for all ages and types. Beach front was gorgeous, not a bad spot. Would go back for sure!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Not as good as our first visit

Stayed a the Royalton October 10th to 17th 2015.Grounds and common areas were immaculate and well cared for.We had a King Suite that was maintained on the plus side but the shower had missing tiles on the floor and really needed new caulking around the whole shower area as it was in poor condition.Menu selection was good and Senses providing excellent service as did all staff at the resort.My concern would have to be limited to the flavor of the food as I did not care for the taste of the cookin [... read more]g oil.Beach was excellent

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: great resort!

Grounds were very clean. Lots of places to socialize. Rooms were amazing. Never had any problems with food. Got married there october 14. Nabil was amazing. My day was perfect. Staff was so nice and helpful.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Best Food in Cuba!

Ive traveled to Cuba several times. I must say HPCSM had the best food and selection in all my travels. Resort clean and well kept. Rooms were decent size. Mini fridge stocked daily. Beach is beautiful but may be tricky if you have mobility issues due to rock ledge. Id return to this resort.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: No problems with the problems

Overall a nice relaxing vacation. No bells and whistles at this resort but no complaints either. Rooms were clean and they do the best with what they have. Water issues for one day were immediately acknowledged and worked on by the resort. Guests were given a bottle of rum for any inconvenience. No issues at all with food. Plenty of fresh food stations at the buffet. Think twice before booking air canada rouge; customer service is not their strong suit.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Very Nice Resort

The resort is very well kept, the grounds were beautiful. The pool and beach were both amazing. The room was very spacious and clean and the fridge was always well stocked. The food was ok, the guy who makes the eggs and pancakes, does and excellent job, he even offered to cook my bacon a little more, it's the little things that mean a lot. Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great resort

This was everything it said, great beaches, clean pool, the staff was excellent,the food was what you expect of Cuba but always find something to eat! Small market near by to do a little shopping, amazing ice coffee we drank every morning as I find coffee too strong. Bungalow 9 was the best close to pool, buffet, and ocean! The only thing wrong was seafood dinner didn't have anything for non seafood eaters. Will return to this resort!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort!

They are very accommodating. Well kept grounds, pools and rooms. We had really good dinners at the Royalton restaurants. The activities could be better communicated so you know what is going on and where, then they would probably get more participation.

Melia Las Dunas: Best resort in Cayo Santa Clara

This was my sixth visit to Melia las Dunas. I've walked through many other resorts in the area and spoken to many people and this resort is first class. A super holiday for family's , singles and couples. Safety was never a concern as the only people allowed across the causeway are workers and guests. All vehicles pass through a military check point. The staff are excellent as well as the food. Once you've been to the best you don't even want to to try anything else.

Trip was excellent. The staff was so nice and made sure that we where satisfied and was always polite and thankful. The hotel was beautiful always cleaned and tidy. Defenetly looking to go back. Beautiful beach!!!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach and pools

Resort overall nice. Beach beautiful. Pools nice/clean. Bungalow 7 is a perfect spot. Close to beach and pools. Nice walk to food area and main lobby. Food great in restaurants. Buffet okay but the same every day. Staff very nice. Tours for fishing/ scuba/ dolphin all were excellent. Would recommend going but know that it is a Cuba resort. Bring bug spray for early AM and PM.

Over all everything was great rooms were very nice food was great pool areas were very nice well worth the money I found every one that had worked for the hotel were very helpful with anything I needed, and the buffet for meals was very nice I found we had a large choice on food witch was great

Memories Paraiso: This resort was more than I imagined.

I arrived at 2 in the morning due to a delayed flight and bus drive from the airport was over an hour but I have no complaints. The people are welcoming, the food was fantastic, the hotel was fantastic and the beaches and activities were awesome. Saw dolphins early in the morning playing in the ocean from my ocean view balcony . The excursion to the mainland to interact with locals and enjoy the music and food and their history should be a must.
