Sonesta Maho Beach: great resort

Very nice place just 2 mins away from the airport. Great service. It's really friendly island. With 2 dollars per person you can get on the bus in front of the bus to go anywhere. Me and my family loved this place.

Sonesta Great Bay Beach & Casino: Wonderful Resort

Just spent a week at the Sonesta Great Bay. Had a fantastic time. While the rooms are older & can use updating the staff make up for it. Nicole, the beach hostess is a warm loving lady, always smiling & taking with the guests. Just loved her. Johnathan in the restraunt was a charming young man, always smiling. Looking forward to a return vacation.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Big Mess

Booked this resort for our second trip and upgraded to the premium ocean view room. We arrived to the hotel at 2:30 and our room wasn't ready they gave up our cards and wrist bands and said we should go to the front desk at 3pm. At 3pm we went to the front desk.... we waited in a long line of people for 50 mins! 50! Check in was EXTREMELY disorganized didn't make sense considering all we needed was to get our room number. Finally get to the front and find out we were booked in for the partial po [... read more]ol/ocean view room. We paid $250 way before our trip to upgrade our room to premier ocean view. The hotel of course did not have any of those rooms available. We were told we'd have to stay in the partial room for the first night and come see the manager the next day. Go to the desk at 11am the next day told to come back at 2pm as the manager was busy. Come back at 2pm still no manager. Finally talk to the front desk supervisor who was fantastic and set up a transfer to mahos sister hotel: The Ocean Point right next store. An adults only resort with 5 stars. Now this resort was FABULOUS! The staff are much nicer and we were treated like royalty the entire time! It was lucky they had a room available for us or our trip may not have turned out so great. Not sure who's fault this "mix up" was with the room we booked.. trip centrals or the hotels but I am extremely hesitant to book through trip central or at the maho again!

Renaissance Curacao: A great resort

The hotel and service was great, no problems. Food was great, something different every day. The pools and man made sandy beach was something to see. Over all, I have not a thing to say bad about this resort. Jim Wlker

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Wonderful vacation

Sunscape in Curacao, although dated and needing a few upgrades this resort is well kept, beautiful friendly staff who go out of their way to please their guests AND with genuine ease. Buffet small in variety but always fresh and you can always find something to satisfy your taste buds. A la carte restaurants were very good and loved the fact that you didn't need to make reservations. Beach nice but take water shoes as lots of little stones, can always find a lounger under cover. Never used the p [... read more]ool as we loved the Caribbean to swim and dip. Snorkelling one of the best ever. Curacao itself is a beautiful colourful Island, we will definitely revisit.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Problems

Major problems with room facilities. Shower control unable to get hot water for first 2 days. Washbasin drain pipe not secured, leakage onto wife's cosmetics. Safety box not taking certain numbers. Some problems were fixed but we were moved to much nicer room as compensation plus given special a la carte dinner on peninsular. Staff extremely courteous, no complaints there. However, our new suite, beautiful and spacious but no plug for hair dryer in bathroom or no light over vanity area,  [... read more]explanation - no bulb available at the time. We refused to move again and managed the deficiencies. The room was very nice and spacious. Food was OK. Resort is quite nice, not too big. Room facilities should be checked on a regular basis before admitting guests.

Kunuku Aqua Resort: family friendly & peaceful stay

lovely, small, tidy friendly resort in the middle of the country. family friendly with lots of pool slides. Shuttles to the beach and into town available. A car rental is a must in order to fully tour the island.

Sonesta Great Bay Beach & Casino: Great Bay - Sint Maarten

Room decor and furnishings were a bit dated but all very functional. Everything else was absolutely amazing! The servers were attentive and the food was great with just the right amount of variety and change.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Sunscape Hotel Resort,CURACAO

Fantastic,Fun,Family appropriate.Very warm,welcoming,eager to please,sociable staff.Answered our questions in honest fashion.No pressure to sell anything.Enjoyed the various foods in particular a la carte.Enjoyed beach side dinners and safe water to swim.Music and evening shows very entertaining.

- clean room - no hair dryer for 3 days, asked 3 times - insufficient bath soap - often no wash cloth - very poor waiter/waitress service in the buffet and the daily grill - often help ourselves with cups, water, spoon/fork, etc - staff often ignore request in buffet, especially at breakfast - seem understaff - many days no ice cream - coffee service was poor - hotel is very nice/grounds

Resort grounds are nicely laid out everything is within easy walking distance resort is clean beach is a lttle rocky with sandy and shady areas food and service in restautants was better than in buffet . Room was good size and bed was very comfortable walking distance to mambo beach and easy acces to town liked the guest entertainment like the trumpet player need more of that need to improve service in buffet

Zoetry Curacao Resort and Spa: Disappointing Hotel Experience Overshadowed Curacao

While this hotel is rated as a 4-Star resort it does not live up to a persons expectations of a 4-Star hotel experience. Firstly, upon arrival at 14:30 our room was not ready when we checked in. We waited in the lobby for roughly an hour being told consistently that the room would be ready in 5 minutes. Part of the reason we booked the Floris was because on the Air Canada vacations website it was indicated a breakfast buffet was included. We found out on arrival that breakfast was an added  [... read more]charge. This was not a good first impression. Secondly, the room originally assigned to us was on the lower floor overlooking the pool, all was fine with the room until we woke up the next morning. The floor and our luggage was covered in bugs that had crawled in from somewhere during the night. We tried sweeping the bugs outside but couldn't open our patio because that would have allowed the feral cat family living on our deck into our room. We asked to switch rooms which the hotel accommodated but took over 1.5 hours to confirm the room change causing us to change our scheduled plans for the day. Thirdly, the house keeping was spoty. We either got no towels some days or to many towls other days. One day during our stay we had left the hotel at 7:30 and returned at 16:00. During those 8.5 hours no one had cleaned our room. When house keeping did arrive at 16:45 they seemed annoyed with us that we still wanted our room cleaned and didn't refuse service. Fourthly, we partially chose the Floris Hotel based on the positive reviews we read about the friendliness of the staff. Overall we found staff (other than management) were annoyed to deal with our issues and we felt as though we were a burden to them. Finally, we had to go to the Hilton Resort across the street to book any excursions. In order to use the phones at the Floris to make local calls, the hotel was going to charge $30.00 USD to your final room bill. The Hilton staff were friendly and accommodating when we asked to make a quick call. They informed us it only cost $1.00 to make a local call but they agreed to waive the charge. Overall, my girlfriend and I felt we had been cheated. We were sold a modern and clean 4-Star resort with amenities. Instead we got an aged hotel with mosquitoes, cockroaches, wild cats and unfriendly service.

Palace St. Martin: Amazing!

This hotel was perfect! Great food, amazing beach and great service, perfect! It was the perfect place to take a young family. The beach was perfect for playing in the waves and sand. The variety and quality of food was perfect!

Sonesta Great Bay Beach & Casino: Worth your money

At Sonesta Great Bay May 7- May 14. The obvious - its an older building without the fancy decor. Staff are great - friendly and helpful. Food was good, buffet is smaller than expected, however, food was freshly prepared. Spa experience was excellent. Spa staff were professional, well prepared and on time. Location is best part - nice beach but deeper waters. Great if you love waves and to swim. Easy walking distance to Front Street and the shopping/restaurants. Sonesta Great Bay Beach & Casino: Great Resort

The food was excellent, we did have some trouble making reservations for the restaurants as neither of us had cell phones with us and this was where the confirmation was sent. Enjoyed the beach and the pools. Grounds were kept very clean and tidy. Staff excellent.

Sonesta Great Bay Beach & Casino: A Little Gem on a Beautiful Island

Our 11 day vacation at Sonesta Great Bay was pure enjoyment from the moment of arrival. We were upgraded from oceanview to a beautiful one bedroom suite overlooking the Bay where we enjoyed our morning coffees on our terrace sometimes with cruise ships in the port. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk along the beach to Phillipsburg with its high end shops, markets, beachside bars and restaurants. The food was excellent with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and delicious seafood. Staff are very [... read more] accommodating. Grounds and rooms are very clean with plenty of fresh towels and fridge stocked every day. No matter where you were on the resort the view of the beach and turqoise waters and the bay was ever present. The resort is quaint, not anything like the huge resorts in Mexico or Dominican but it has a true island charm with friendly people and is extremely safe. The only complaint would be that the lobby and beach washooms need to be totally renovated as are small, dark and smelly. Also there are not enough loungers around the pools. People get up before 7 am to reserve chairs. The towel game is never fun.

I think overall the Island was beautiful, as for the resort I find the website to be misleading. The hotel is partially renovated, in which we had a non renovated room partial Ocean View with machines running in back all day and night. We were unable to sit out on our balcony because of the noise. The beds were actually very comfy, so I was happy, the bathrooms on the other hand were awful. The service was slack, rude staff that ignored you when asking questions or cranky and standoffish.. The food was cold most of the time, but wasn't bad. The pizza and the Chinese restaurant were by far the best!! Our rooms were not ready at check-in time, so we're had to wait as well.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Awesome vacation

My husband & I traveled with 3 other couples during April 2 to April 9, 2017 and we all had an amazing time! The staff were extremely friendly, the room and the resort grounds were beautiful. My favorite was the beach., the turquoise water was stunning., so we spent a lot of time in the ocean as the water was so beautiful…I was first concerned about the break wall in pictures I seem, but once you are there, glad it was their because of the waves. Great Snorkeling as well. The food was very g [... read more]ood at the buffet, my favorite a la carte was the Blue Water Grill. The weekly Bar B Q on the beach was also fantastic and very organized. Every time I went to the CoCo Café, Yvonne always greeted me with her warm smile, and pleasant conversation, I already miss her. We did a private tour, and went to the Curacao Distillery, The Hato Caves and the Blow Hole as well as few private beaches which was breath taking. I tried Iguana soup ! It was not terrible, taste like chicken lol. We decided as a group that we wanted to experience the different parts of the island and had a blast with our tour guides who made the experience well worth it. We also enjoyed taking the city bus into Willemstad and did some shopping, and sightseeing the floating market and the swing bridge were nice to see. Overall I miss this place, and will definetly be back !! Best vacation

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Awsome snorkeling right off the beach!

We stayed at Sunscape April 21-28th. We enjoyed our stay but feel there is room for improvement at this resort. We stayed at the Sunclub and feel this was an afterthought with this resort. Sunclub is at the far end of the resort with a private pool and beach, yet everyone seamed to use it. There is no washroom at the pool so it's back to the room or there is a washroom half way back to the front desk. Kenneth the bar tender was the bright spot at the pool, always ready with a drink and friendly  [... read more]conversation. The down side is the poor man is set up at a makeshift bar, no blender. Our room was good and the air conditioning worked well. Maribel the maid did a fine job keeping the room neat and tidy. We found the staff very friendly. We would recommend the bluewater grill, we ate there a lot. There is a lunch BBQ at the bluewater Saturdays. Would like to see this a few more times during the week. The beach is good and there is a stone break wall the length of the beach which provides some awesome snorkeling. Coral is trying to establish it self on the breakwall but to many people standing on it and touching it is making it difficult. Some education for the visitors and this asset would be even better. We totally enjoyed willemstad and Mambo beach is a 5 minute walk from the resort. It has many shops, a bar, starbucks and rocks on Saturday nights.

We had a great experience at this place and recommend it to anyone. Very clean and the food was excellent .Also the service was very good the employees there were always pleasant and happy.the beach was very clean and the ocean view was superb .
