Allegro Playacar: Relaxing escape
Wanted a break from the freezing cold and decided to return to Allegro. It has been over 30 years since our first trip and we were not disappointed. Things in the area have change a lot but that's no surprise. Check in was fast and efficient, had a couple of issues in the room which were resolved quickly. Beach is great. It's a short walk to a shopping market outside and about a half hour wank into Playa Del Carmen (which is now a lot lot bigger and busier than last time). Food was OK, [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Palace: Great Resort
It was a great time. Though our friends on a different floor seem to have the snacks refilled daily and special things on the bed when they came back. I wish there were face cloths also in the rooms. Very clean resort, lots of workers and all were friendly.
El Dorado Seaside Palms: Great resort
Grounds and rooms are very clean and nice. All the food was good. Beach was kept clean and free of debris thanks to the hard working staff. Pools were very chilly though probably due to the cool weather in the evenings. Overall great experience and would return.
Riu Palace Mexico: Best Resort Ever
The Rui Palace Mexico is an excellent resort. The beach is beautiful with loads of chairs. A little seaweed once in awhile but there were large areas where water was clear. The waiter brings a tray of drinks while you are lounging on the beach with alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. The food is terrific. Tons of selection. Love that the breakfast is open til 11 am. The a la cartes are great, no reservations required. The entertainment is very good. We loved the layout of the hotel. [... read more]
Allegro Playacar: Okay Resort.
Rooms need to to be updated. Staff has got to be able to communicate with customers better…very few of the staff spoke English, had a hard time communicating with staff. Very expensive for items on resort, can understand they need to be a bit higher but one does not have to mortgage their homes to buy a snack. Will not be returning to the resort anytime soon.Worst holiday ever.i

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Everything we asked for!!!
Second visit to Barceló, glad we went back. Only wish we would have signed up for the Barceló club to collect points for return visits. Steve langstaff has never let us down. His advice and recommendations were spot on!
Grand Oasis Riviera: Mixed thoughts
The resort itself is decent. Grounds are kept and neat. Exterior maintenance on the buildings you stay in is lacking. (Orange buildings) Broken screens, broken roof tiles, stucco broken, balcony rail broken. Needs a lot of work. Interior is ok at best. Buffet, coffee shop and seafood restaurant are all good. Stay away from the Italian restaurant. Website says there are tennis courts but there aren't any. Beach is small but thr snorkeling is good. There is a reef about 100m out which shelters [... read more]
Ocean Coral and Turquesa El Beso: Great Resort
We were a group of 8 and had a great time at this resort. Grounds: well kept and beautiful. Not too large, walkable. Rooms: really nice, bed comfortable, AC worked well with a ceiling fan in room. Fridge well stocked. Maid service great. À la cartes: only got into 2. Italian was below expectations on the food and service. Hibachi one was a great experience and lots of fun, food good. Booking system is a bit stressful as you need to be on your phone and ready for 10 every day: it’s too much fo [... read more]
Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Amazing resort
The room was amazing. The food was incredible. The resort itself unbelievable from the concierge to the staff. Top notch amazing experience all I have is good things to say amazing experience I’ll be back.
Grand Oasis Riviera: Beautiful Resort
The grounds & rooms are beautiful. Loved no reservations required for Ala carte restaurants. I was shocked to find that i had to pay resort environmental fee of $126 USD when I checked it. I was dissatisfied that they do not restock your mini fridge with pop & beer (only stocked for arrival day) after that they only restock water! I was disappointed with the entertainment as it was sorely lacking at the resort. While at the resort pools are freezing cold very uncomfortable & 1 pool [... read more]
Catalonia Yucatan: Well kept grounds and pools
Rooms were okay, we don't spend to much time in them. Buffet fkod was repetitive, never hot, just luke warm. If I rated this resort out of 5, the buffet would lower it to a 2. A La Cartes, even thu we sere booked for 2 weeks we were only able to book to restaurants. Meals in both were a nice break from warm/cold meals in the buffets. All but two staff that I met were exceptional
Moon Palace Cancun: Great Family Resort
We just returned from a week at the Moon Palace Sunrise and it was a great week! Rooms were clean, grounds were clean, LOTS of food options. It was easy to get reservations for dinner using their App. Water slides, mini golf, basketball, pickleball, tennis, FlowRider at Sunrise and at the Grand, which is no charge. Buffets were a bit smaller than I expected but there are so many à la cartes, it was never super busy.
Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great Resort
Positives: - Grounds: great set-up, nice environment (vegetation, wildlife, etc.), well kept; - Food: big variety for all tastes and requirements, fresh, clean eating places; - Beach: excellent: sandy, in a little gulf thus protected of big waves and warmer; - Service: Personnel very friendly and helpful. Negatives: - People allowed to sell (black market ?) pot and other drugs on the beach while smoking themselves those products, which is annoying for non drug consumers like me; - Conci [... read more]
Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Hyatt vivid playa del Carmen
I liked our room, ground floor, garden view. Resort seemed dated . We were at the same resort 15 years ago and loved it. Not much had changed but food was a lot worse. But hyatt food left a lot to be desired. The Mexican restaurant was inedible and the staff did little to fix it. The other restaurants we better, the staff was always helpful and friendly. There was a sewer smell that wafted through the resort most days. I don't think it is a five star at all. Maybe a 4 star. Small point but the [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Tropical: Fabulous Resort
I have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts over the years, and the Barcelo Maya Tropical was on of the best resorts (if not the best), that I have ever stayed at. The rooms were always kept clean and are all updated, the staff was pleasant and professional and the food was excellent. This resort keeps its grounds IMMACULATE! It was very impressive and I highly recommend giving it a try!
Ocean Coral and Turquesa El Beso: Enjoyable Resort
The hotel was well maintained, rooms clean and friendly service. Restaurants: Buffett was great lots of variety, Sensei (Japanese) was great entertaining show and food was delicious, Italian food was ok and service was questionable, Route 66 (dinner) was a mix review, waiter was very nice but forgetting things, my ribs were excellent but my wife's order was not what she wanted but was not told her meal was not available and was substituted. Overall, meals were generally good, service was a hit [... read more]
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing place
Went to the occidental excaret and had a great experience. Most of the workers were great friendly and a lot of fun. Went with my son and friend and can not say enough about the resort . So much wild life beautiful grounds the resort was massive . Beautiful trails . Its not perfect but for us it was pretty dam close.
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Winner
This is a YES, close to everything, beach, buffet, other hotels, casino, boutique. They have the cleanest grounds of all the hotels I’ve been. Beautiful rain forest! The rooms a bit outdated, would need new bathtubs! But will book here again ♥️
TRS Yucatan: Amazing resort!
One week stay here was not enough! Top notch resort. Easy and pleasant check-in, rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Even the bathrooms at the beach or in the resort are spa-like and very clean. Our room was cleaned daily, and always very well done. Food is absolutely delicious. We ate at five different restaurants and loved each one. Our butlers, Eric and Lisandra, were so helpful and pleasant. They took care of the restaurant reservations, and were always quick to respond to any questio [... read more]
