Palma Real: Amazing locationn
The staff were awesome ! The resort was in a perfect location to wonder around and explore. Make sure you get a massage while you are there.. she's awesome ! The food was very repetitive but it is very inexpensive to eat out at restaurants where the foot is great. We had a lobster dinner for my birthday for $15 pesos.. can't go wrong with that ! All in all good resort , staff were great, the only complaint is that I wish I was aware that the main pool was closed for renovations while we w [... read more]
Club Kawama: Great Time
There was lots of renovations/improvements going on but was not a inconvenience to our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach and location were excellent. Overall amazing place to stay and great value for the price.
Roc Barlovento: Roc Barlovento Hotel Snapshot
My husband and I stayed the week of October 7th to October 14, 2017 at Roc Barlovento, Varadero, Cuba. The city of Varadero had just been hit with Hurricane Irma. There was a lot of damage done. I believe the locals, hotel staff, army and university students shut down Varadero for two weeks in order to clean up the fallen trees, debris and try to work with damaged infrastructure. The hotel surprisingly was up and running without too much damage. The staff and locals were in good spirits desp [... read more]
Palma Real: Very bad
Disgusting hotel , disgusting service , disgusting pool , beach is far , dinning is just garbage , if you do not tip you get no service , there is no kids club as it say on the website . I will not recommemded to any concious people to go to this hotel.
Starfish Cayo Largo: pelicano resort at coyo largo my favorite resort
when you arived at resort latino music and dance i danced with the group latino club welcomed the guest at the beach the same every day , i enjoy dancing .i like that resort small everything is close frendly people very long beach, good service good food .it was my second time at pelicano and i will go again.thank you vera my email is; vera.jankov3@gmail.com
Palma Real: Very good hotel overall.
For the food, there is little choice but very good food. The beach is not in the hotel but a 3 minute walk and with a beach bar dedicated to Palma Real. The only downside is the road that passes close to some rooms makes a little noise even at night, but the stunning water views compensate. I easily give a 4/5.
Palma Real: Keeps on getting better!
I dont recall how many times I have been to Palma Real but during my many trips, I have gained a lot of friends from both staff and fellow vacationers. This trip my friends and I noticed the food seemed to have improved. I was much hotter and seemed to have more flavor. We were also faced with hurricane Irma half way through our stay. The employees reassured us we would be safe from catastrophes at Palma Real because the hotel had been used as a shelter for others in then past due to it's sligh [... read more]
Palma Real: 2e home
This resort is so friendly ..it like my 2 home ..it's not fancy but it's in town and we can walk ..the food is good and the room is ok ..the room are renovated and don't forget it's Cuba ...it's my 5 time and will be back ...
Palma Real: All the pillows had black mold
The negatives: we had three separate rooms and all 6 of our pillows (not the covers) had black mold spots on them. The sheets had a stench of dampness everyday. Some days there was no hot water at all. One day I was showering with cold water and it shut off on me mid shower so I had to rinse my whole body in the sink. Hint to hotel management: stop being so cheap and change your pillows for pete's sake. On the positive side: staff were very nice - restaurant servers only started being nice [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Awesome Resort
Amazing Resort and would definitely go back to this same place. Location perfect to starting of downtown to the market. Buses right next door to catch daily to go from one end of Varadero and back. Buses stop every 30 minutes and you pay $5 CUC and can ride and get off all day long until 9:00 pm. Resort staff friendly and helpful. Smaller resort with little under 400 rooms, but bigger not always better. No long waits or line ups. Not a lot of people running around in chaos. More low keyed [... read more]
Hotel Villa Cuba: Awesome experience!!!
Firstly I'd like to thank Janet Merrill at Tripcentral for hooking us up with a great deal for our first time in Cuba :-) . I highly recommend the Be Live Varadero Experience for a stay in Varadero . The staff wen't above and beyond to make our stay memorable and enjoyable . The food was absolutely delicious and the music was uplifting . The beach is a dream !!! I'm already planning to take my wife and kids there for Christmas 2017 and so is my friend who went with me on this last trip. Than [... read more]
Palma Real: Staff very cold who doesn't like foreign customers.
Starfish Cayo Largo: Belle semaine
[... read more]
Starfish Cayo Largo: Pelicano
Hello everyone.....this little run down of the resort will be short and sweet......the place itself is some what runned down....they have upgraded some of their rooms.....the older room s are really bad.....many thins are either broken or about to break.......the swimming pool is okay but beware of the water for they use ocean water inside.......never ever seen this concept before.......the ocean is okay but once again you have to be carefull with the huge waves in the water.....red flag is very [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Worse than advertised
We were prepared for a three star, as advertised, since we were only going to be there for a few days, we could have handled boring food, or smaller accommodations. But we were almost at the end of our rope after only just one day! If you were lucky enough to find a bartender that could mix a drink, they probably didn't have the ingredients required (e.g. - there was no wine at all). The husband loves authentic Cuban mojitos and only got one on the first night. After that when he asked, they jus [... read more]
Hotel Villa Cuba: Wonderful peoples but...
This hotel is 19 years old and in desperate need of love. The employees are very nice and will do a lot to accommodate you. The food is not the best but was very decent. This hotel should be a 2 stars in my opinion, i had to change rooms 3 times to find a correct one. The last room had everything working but one of the 2 beds was totally worned out. The shows at night are good and diversified the animation team are doing a good job. The beach is Varadero beach so they are superb :)
Starfish Cayo Largo: Older hotel but still nice
The rooms are older but clean. The grounds are very well maintained. The food was very good in all the restaurants. The staff are very very friendly. Beach lots of seaweed but cleaned everyday. Hotel just needs some upgrading that would make it a 4 star. Would I go back probably not but a place for a quiet vacation. Thank you O'Neil for your help in booking.
Hotel Villa Cuba: Love this resort!!
I have been going to Be Live Experience Varadero since 2011 and I've never had issues there. The staff are very friendly and the resort is clean. One of the nicest beach I've ever seen. The food at the a la carte restaurant was amazing, the buffet was oky. The food at the buffet is good just repetitive. Will go back again and again.
Starfish Cayo Largo: Really Surprised!
The hotel is older (like most Cuba hotels) but very clean, we had a beautiful ocean view with balcony doors. Our friends did have to move rooms due to the air conditioner not working but the staff made is stress free. Grounds we nice, entertainment ok but we had blast with the activity staff and all our new friends we met. If your looking for a quieter type of resort or have kids this would be a good place to go. Beach wasn't as smooth as beaches on the main land but the waves were awesome [... read more]
