Brisas Del Caribe: Great to get away, Not 4* as per other sites

The good: I liked the food, never got sick. Beach was beautiful, some workers were friendly and entertainment was great, I especially liked the group of musicians that played during the evening in the lobby where everyone hung around. The Bad: My room was in the south part, old section, my first room had no shower pressure and broken phone, took an hour for a technician to come fix it (sent by the main desk ladies)to learn that we need a plumber. New ro [... read more]om had some water pressure, enough to shower, hot water took forever to come, my sister took 2 cold showers and I took warm showers, but temperature was good after the first 2 days - last 2 days there, there was no water all in the morning. Rooms very plain, bed headboards fall apart if your not careful. Grounds are nice and clean. The public bathroom need major work, some toilets have seats, some don't, toilet paper often missing and no soap. The bathroom by the pool is disgusting, very dirty and runs out of toilet very quickly, they only keep 1 little soap bar which runs out quickly as well. I went to one A-La-Carte restaurant, very nice and clean, its like it didn't belong there. Buffet area was soo busy, not enough tongs on the serving trays, people had to grab bread with their hands, one slow slow toaster that only toasted 2nd time around, one grill area that was filthy, equipment and floors very dirty, I can just imagine the kitchen but I never got sick. The grill by the beach food was ok but all the food was exposed for the flies. The women at the front desk were not very nice, I think its because everyone was asking for a new rooms. They had alot of water problems. Most bartenders and some buffet waiter/waitresses looked miserable. The main coffee area was so busy, all the coffee machines looked like they have never been cleaned and they don't use dish soap for washing the mugs, they use a dirty cloth and water - I never got sick. The coffee is very good, unfortunately it took for ever to get a cup - bartender wouldn't look at you until they were ready to take your order or you showed them a tip. I made the best of everything, You have to overlook the faults in order to enjoy yourself, there was good and bad about this place. I'd visit again if the price was super cheap, I heard the rooms in the main building are being renovated slowly and the water pressure is super strong. It could of been worse, this is definately a 3*.

all was great, uprated to ocean view which the 150 extra was worth it. food was OK too, but not great. nice weather and great ocean pool. they are using a wall to break the waves. the locals are nice, but if they ever leave you alone for a minute not trying to sell you stuff.

Be Live Turquesa: Akumal Bay and Wellness Resort

My wife and I spent 1 week from March 5th to 12th. This was our 2nd visit as we were here the previous year 2014. The resort has been totally renovated since our last visit. We enjoyed the improved dining experience as there are many more a-la cart restaurants with great food! The sushi bar was another hi-lite as we often didn't feel like a big lunch and would have a fresh assorted sushi plate with a few tall cold beers while overlooking the sea. There are no beach towel restrictions so guests took as many as they wanted. This caused problems since some people would place towels in the beach palapas and on sun beds around the pool. This made it difficult to find a free palapa unless you were diligent and hit the beach before 7 AM most mornings.This towel game although is common in many resorts. We were very impressed with all the changes from last year. It appears a lot of thought was put into the design of everything from walkways,restaurants and rooms to the great service by the staff. My wife and I will definitely consider returning next year as long as the prices don't jump dramatically now that this resort has been upgraded to a 5 star.

Grand Oasis Cancun: meh

Beach and pools were beautiful, party was good, but the food was horrible (I wouldn't feed it to my dog)... service was below par, and they did not have enough bar tenders to keep up with the demand... bed was uncomfortable, tv didn't work, and sliding doors didn't lock.. girl to guy ratio was 1:7... i would suggest staying at the Grand Oasis...

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Not the greatest resort

Rooms..not up to date, unless on the ocean view....not enough evening activities...disco and show, not enough. Respectfully, major language barrier. Food great! Beach bars close at six, no lobby bar. Too much walking for people with any disability. The ocean view only has one bar, for your buffet meals, you have to walk across the street to the garden view side.....even if it rains!

Did not get the room we paid for,had to wait 3 hours and still not happy with what the gave us. Many local harrass you when out walking. Pool was dirty and bad lighting on stairs. Not as advertised would not return

My boyfriend and I went to Be Live Hamaca Santo Domingo from March 6 to March 13 2015. Before arriving we were skeptical of the hotel due to the poor reviews. However, the hotel was not as bad as the reviews perceived it to be. The location of the hotel is different then most all inclusive resorts that I have been to due to the close proximity of the resort to the city. This hotel is directly located within the city. If staying on the garden side you must cross a public road in order to go to th [... read more]e ocean side. This was something that was not expected. This would not be a good resort at all for small children due to the fact you have to cross the road everyday and the lack of children's activities. Overall, our room was located in building 19. We were on the third floor with a king bed over looking the town's housing. This was not a very pretty site however there was not a lot of noise. The air conditioning never worked and we never received sheets that actually fit the bed. However, the room was cleaned daily and we were left a new water every day. The pool on the garden side was very nice. You could always get multiple chairs in a row. However, you could not get a chair in the shade ever. The pool was always cleaned. The bartenders at the pool bar were very nice and pleasant. The beach was nice, but very small. If you are familiar with large beaches like cuba. This is not the resort for you. Due to limited space the chairs and people were essentially on top of each other anywhere you were on the beach. The dock located on the hotel's property is the divider of the public beach from the hotel's beach. Along this line venders would reside there. Beach was way to small for the amount of chair and people. If you enjoy a nice walk on the beach this would not be the beach or hotel I would recommend. There are also a lot of people trying to sell tours (i.e., catamaran or four wheeler). They are allowed on the resort and beach and are very bothersome. We were asked atleast once a day if we wanted to go on a tour, if not more. The food was good. I use the word good as it was better then the food served in Cuba. Two added features of Dominican to Cuba is that this hotel had pepsi and ketchup. There was a variety of food at all times. A bundle of fresh fruit at every meal which was nice. In comparison, to the price we paid $900 each direct from Moncton to Dominican it was worth it. However, I will not go back to this hotel due to its location from the airport and the beach. The staff was very friendly and the food was fine for the week. Please be aware that if you fly into Punta Cana and you are staying at this resort it is a 3 hour bus ride. If arriving at night (after 10pm), please be aware that there is a public Disco at this hotel and that locals are welcomed and that locals do hang around the front entrances which is not that comfortable.

This place was disgusting! Mold on the walls and in the tub, rusty old locks on the safes, dirty and old. In the 50's, i'm sure it was a nice hotel but it hasn't been updated! Staff didn't speak english. Not even a resort!

Be Live Turquesa: HOME AWAY FROM HOME

We just returned from our 3rd visit to this fantastic adults only resort. We love the Melia Cayo Coco because of the staff. They welcome you as if you were family. From year to year, they recognize your face and are so happy to see you again. The food at the Melia Cayo Coco is outstanding. The chefs take pride in cooking the food to your liking and are always replenishing the trays with fresh food. The beach has beautiful white sand and you can walk for miles. The Animation staff offer activitie [... read more]s throughout the day. You can do Patank (Bocci ball), dancing lessons, painting lessons, crafts, archery, rifle shooting, bingo, aqua aerobics, volley ball and various other games. You'll hear Pepe yelling out "cocoooooonuts" every day. The Animation staff put a lot of hard work in the run of a day. The lobby is a great place to hang out before and after your supper. There's nightly entertainment at 9:30 and there's a disco that opens at 11:30. We like to hang out at the Billiards bar. Silva is the best bartender ever! We're looking forward to our 4th trip next year. Go…you won't be disappointed.

Grand Oasis Sens: Great Resort

This is a very nice resort. Very clean and well cared for. The food selection was good and the service was excellent by all staff. The pools were great! The only downside was the lack of nightlife besides going downtown to the bars and clubs and the lack of food for late night snacks.

This was my 1st time to DR, I have been to Cuba many times before and love it. We found that the customer service at this hotel was far from being great. When we arrived we were under the impression we were booked into the garden side but after standing in line for over an hour to check in we were told that we were on the oceanview side. We took our bags and crossed the street and stood at the counter there for another hour while the staff member took our passports and disappeared for about 20 m [... read more]inutes with them. When he returned we were told we had to go back to the other side. AT this point we were exhausted as it was very late and we were thirsty. No one was there to welcome us with a drink which would have made us feel a lot better at that point. We refused to go back to the other side of the road and paid to have our room upgraded. The grounds were pretty and well kept. The rooms were average but looked like the floors had not been swept or mopped in a long time. The door to our room was split and you could see right through to our room. Everyday we would go down to the pool and all the cups straws and garbage from the day before was usually still there. 2 of the A la carte restaurants were very good (Mexican & Brazilian). We enjoyed the sunshine but would not return to this hotel.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Amazing Staff/Employees!

The Hotel is pleasant, unfortunately for us, we were in the Garden View area of the resort, they section we were in - 800's were currently being renovated. so, both our neighboring rooms were busy with construction workers all day. Very nice, but loud, if you wanted to take a rest during the day. Also, our unit needed renovations, so it was old. And the balcony was full of pigeon poo, should be cleaned, at least weekly. Otherwise, a very fine establishment.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: DO not go there!!!

Garden view rooms are disgusting!! Worse than slum..be prepared to pay to upgrade! We saw a friend's ocean view suite and it was gorgeous but they paid an additional $600 to upgrade for two weeks. The resort certainly not the cleanest but the pool and pool area were nice. Food was good and beds comfy. You could not flush tissue in toilets...had to discard soiled tissue in wastebasket! Ugh!

Brisas Del Caribe: Good value for the money spent

Staff was amazing!!! Hotel could use some cleaning up by painting and upgrading the rooms. Need more kitchen grills for the cooks to work more efficiently - pancake and omelette line ups very long. The washrooms did not have any paper towels to wipe your hands.

cheap price for all inclusive resort. the rooms in the north section are best or near the lobby. people are very nice. dont expect amazing food its edible. you go to cuba for the weather and beach anyway

grounds: not always clean (plastic glasses & plates are not picked up for days) beach is nice but not cleaned on a regular basis some of the beach chairs are old with tears and should be changed we had to change rooms 3 times due to problems with a/c and water pressure in the shower was poor food: very repetitive not many choices lack of bagnos near beach or pool stayed at many different hotels in Cuba (Varadero,Holguin,Cayo CoCo,Cayo Guillermo,Cayo Santa Maria,and with another Brisas in Santa L [... read more]ucia it rates as the worst......

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Only a low 3 star resort

We traveled March 7 to 15 2015. The first room we were given was an absolute mess, door would not open fully due to rubbing on floor. No hot water in shower, and dead bugs in the picture frame. After some hassle, and being shown the presidential suite (only possible upgrade for 100.00 per person per night), we were given a new room that was in much better condition, but still very old and dated. The Nolitour site rates this resort as a 4 star resort, but I would rate it as a low 3 star, and I am [... read more] not a very picky person. Also the Nolitour site said that the Garden section rooms were Beach Front, but in actual fact the Garden section is across the street and through the Beach section building from the actual beach. However after saying this it was not that big a deal as the Garden section has the larger pool, buffet, and 2 of the 4 a la cartes. so we just stayed on our side of the street and didn't bother with the beach. Having paid under 800.00, taxes included, per person we were able to overlook the downfalls of this resort and enjoy the sun, but had we paid any more it would definitely not have been worth the money.

It was a realy nice vacation....me and my friend realy enjoy everythink......met realy nice peoples...we went on a tour that was called Sonana VIP......(y).......the food was good and the rooms was clean that was the important thing.....:)

Brisas Del Caribe: Very restful resort.

My husband and I and two other couples stayed at this resort for two weeks, the second and third week of February, 2015. We have been travelling for ten years and this was our third trip to Cuba. The grounds around the resort were very well kept up, as were the bridges around the bird ponds. Many, many perfect places to take pictures!! Breakfast buffet was very slow, not even a toaster! The one man that was making the eggs and omelettes worked with a smile and was very pleasant. You don't really mind waiting a bit because you were entertained with his bantering, jokes and noise effects. Our rooms served their purpose for sleeping, although our mattress was more tired than we were. They were very clean and the maids were very good, especially using their imagination in towel art! They always made us smile. The beach area was fantastic but mostly old chairs and many broken ones. It was very clean and the ocean great. Also many shade huts!! I realize that this is Cuba, but my one complaint is very few if any TOILET SEATS !!! For travelers in their 50's and older, many have knee and hip replacements or just feel the need to sit and do their business, not hang!! Lets face it, we go for the warm weather but some conveniences are a must!

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Our second home.

It was the fourth time we went to Las Morlas, once again we love it, the hotel is not fancy, clean, good food and super nice people, from the looby to the beach bar.We had a wonderful time. Regards. Luiz & Fernanda
