Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful Resort

We stayed here from December 20-27 and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed on the Royal side which was marvelous and had excellent service and food, but we also spent time on the other side which was also great. No shortages at all in terms of food or alcohol. We would definitely return again, thanks so much Tammy Beamish for helping us to arrange this much needed vacation!

Sol Cayo Coco: Fantastic resort

The resort is great. It’s not fancy, but very well maintained and clean.very quiet, not too busy. There was always plenty of places to sit and relax. The food was good, we could always find something we liked to eat. The most amazing part of our trip was the resort staff, from the front desk to the bar and restaurant staff to housekeepers to the groundskeepers and the amazing entertainment staff. Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Beautiful Resort

Clean and organized. Staff was friendly and amazing time. Bring snacks with you and maybe some hot sauce as the food some is very good, some bland but better than other resorts in Cuba. We had a lovely time during Christmas and new year. Bring bug spray for beach, lots of sand fleas.

Sol Palmeras: Fabulous time at Sol Palmeras!!!

Spent 14 days at this amazing resort mid December. Enjoyed everything, except the December weather. Resort satisfied all of our needs and wants when it came to the location, size, cleanliness, services, beach/pool and food. Location: conveniently located 30 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from Varadero. Size: resort appeared to be quite large, yet it did not feel overwhelming and was very accessible. Cleanliness: resort grounds inside and outside were always clean. Our room could be cleaned daily, but we made an arrangement with our lovely maid to have it cleaned every other day. Beach/pool: lots of space at the pool and the beach, with both shaded and open areas. Towel service worked great with an abundance of clean towels daily. Services: amazing staff at every section of the resort (reception, security, bars, entertainment, lifeguards, maids, etc.). Food: we were pleasantly surprised to the abundance, quality and variety of food at the buffets and restaurants. Fresh fruits, veggies, fish, meat, eggs other items daily. We miss ice cream and freshly squeezed pineapple juice. We would definitely recommend this resort to others and will be back for sure!

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Christmas Visit

Hello everyone The melia unfortunately for a new hotel as of January 2024 falls short in the service area. The bartenders and food buffet servers were less then satisfactory. We have been to Cuba many times mainly Varadero area . This hotel needs to train their staff about some simple customer service to smile and to at least appreciate our presence at your hotel. We do put food on your table and help give you a living .

Melia Internacional: Amazing resort

Great hotel great location could use a little bit more cleaning but overall it was good. Food was OK but plenty full location was amazing. So close to downtown Varadero you could walk or five dollar bus ride into town. Beach was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Sol Palmeras: Friendly place with great beach

The staff is great, the room is clean, and there are plenty of food options. The beach is great, as well as entertainment. Wifi works in all resort locations. We spend time during the Christmas and they had really nice dinner on 24th and 25th.

Paradisus Varadero: Paradisus Varadeto

Best settled resort with the view of the ocean from the inside of the resort. 5 star Beach! Cleaned every day! Water and sand spectacular Food- no one will starve. No one will gain or lose weight Actually for a vegan is the best place. Lots of options .

Melia Las Antillas: Older Resort in need of refurbishing, but clean, friendly and definetly client oriented.

The hotel is as advertised. Older and has a few bumps and bruises. It is clean and has all the convinces that I would expect from a resort. The check-in process was very efficient. My room was on the main floor in the hotel section. The main floor was on the 2nd level. With lobby and bar. The restaurants were on the 1st with the entrance to the pool and grounds. The rooms are great, the bathroom tired but clean and in working order, hot water for showering and the towels functionable but worn.  [... read more]I asked and received extra water and beer in the fridge as needed. The lobby bar and staff were wonderful, with nightly entertainment with a solo piano player, and solo singer with a guitar. The coffee's and rum were the best. The dining was adequate with the buffet having the best choice of food. I enjoyed the rice and beans with grilled fish. There was roast meat every day: pork, chicken or turkey. There were vegetables but the broccoli, carrots cauliflower were not fresh. Roast Pumkin and squash was the better choice. Eggs and omelettes, cereal, pancakes fresh bread and buns daily. Sorry no bacon. The ala cartes were not the best, food wise. The pool area was great with new loungers on the deck. The pool did have missing tiles, but was easy access and clean. The water was cool but comfortable. THE ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE DAILY LOUD AND HEAD BANGING PARTY MUSIC. After several attempts to have them play a better choice was useless. The beach was the best. Wide, clean and great for walking but it was red flag days when I was there. December 12-17, 2024

Sol Turquesa Beach: Unrealized potential !

The staff at this resort are truly amazing—warm, attentive, and always ready to help. The property itself is beautiful and full of potential, but unfortunately, it falls short in delivering the kind of vacation experience most people are looking for. The main issue is the lack of guests, which has a domino effect on almost everything. The food options are very limited and repetitive. While I understand Cuban food can be simple, I’ve stayed at other resorts that offered much better variety, ev [... read more]en at similar price points. After a few days, meals became more of a chore than something to enjoy. The entertainment was also underwhelming. The disco was open but often empty because there just weren’t enough people. The theater was never operational, and while there were occasional live music performances, those were rare. Most evenings, you’re left sitting in the reception area, swatting away mosquitoes and hoping for something to happen. For anyone with mobility issues, this resort is not ideal. There are a lot of stairs, and while carts are available to transport guests, they’re not always the most convenient option. If you choose to walk, the alternative routes can be very long and tiring. That said, there are some positives. The beach is long and scenic, great for walks, and the water sports were excellent. With fewer guests, you get plenty of space to yourself, which can be nice if you’re looking for peace and quiet. However, swimming is a bit of a challenge due to rocks and seaweed—you have to search for clear spots to enjoy the water. In summary, this resort could be fantastic if it had more guests and a livelier atmosphere. Right now, everything feels scaled back, and it doesn’t deliver the full resort experience. For a similar price, there are better options nearby that offer more variety, entertainment, and overall value. I wouldn’t return to this resort anytime soon.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Wonderful experience as always

We have been coming to Tryp Cayo Coco resort for few times now and we are always satisfied. Staff are really respectful, kind and always have a smile on their faces. We always feel welcome and remember us from our previous visit. I never had an issue with food- there are soooo many selections. The best part is lobster in the buffet for dinner, the beef that is soooo tender which I indulge, fresh bake pizza for my children and it is actually good, so much type of pasta options, fish, pork, b [... read more]eef grill and lots more. I can eat crispy fried fish everyday ??. Try ice coffee- the way they make it is better than Starbucks.? The beach is paradise, went to Pilar beach as well and we can see fishes swimming. Crystal clear water and calm -My family and I had fun trying to catch them but faster than us, lol. Looking forward to go back next year. Thanks to all the staff!!!

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Service lacks.

The 2.5 hour bus ride to the hotel was good. The guide was very interactive and informative. Check in at the resort was basic. We were not given a map or general overview of the hotel to advise us of the amenities. We requested a crib and I confirmed during check in that it was in the room already. Room: we had 2 swimout rooms, in building A. The room itself was nice. The rainfall shower head was great, except that the shower itself sits on a platform above the floor, and there is no slan [... read more]t for the water to drain... therefore if you continuously stand under the shower head, water floods the room. Otherwise, always had hot water and strong pressure. I found the beds to be hard. The swimout would have been amazing if we were in ANY other building. In building A, there is no sun. It is shade 100% of the day which made it freezing and unusable. If you get a swimout in building A, request a switch immediately as it's a waste of money otherwise. The hotel knows this, as they came and removed all the sun umbrellas from these rooms during our stay. Food: The a la cartes are basic, Sasa (japanese) was probably the best of all. The a la carts fill up real quick by people in advance of their stay, but you are able to book the week of dinners at once rather than daily. Keep the paper for the bookings, as the lady who books them failed to actually schedule 2 of our dinners but luckily we had the paper to show we booked at the times. They do not fill the a la carts at all... most restaurants appear empty so they really limit seating. I didn't care for the food at Alma or Mosiac restaurants. The buffet is VERY small, and dishes are rarely rotated. They ran out of eggs during our stay, so we had 4 days of no eggs for breakfast. They do have a grilling section and for the first few days, they gave large portions and cooked the meat thoroughly. However, when the resort became busy our last 2 days, we saw this change drastically... meat was only being half cooked, and the cook was using the same Tongs to touch the food and garbage. So that was a real turnoff once we observed that happening. Beach: the sand is real rocky... as is the water. I recommend water shoes if you're going to try to enjoy the water at all. They have 2 swings in the water to take pictures on, which I was excited for... until I saw that they are LAYERED in algae. The hotel should be cleaning them regularly. There is a nicer beach 30 minutes away by walk, near the Memories hotel. You can rent sun loungers for $1. Entertainment: probably the worst I have ever experienced. There is no advertisement of what the entertainment will be at night, it rarely starts on time, there is no guest engagement. There is no stage. The hotel sets up small mats for the performers, and it just makes it look very uncomfortable. There are no chairs. Guests were using chairs at the bars or the Bali beds. However, if/when the hotel gets busy, I imagine this to be very uncomfortable. Service: was absolutely TERRIBLE. I ignored other reviews that complained but now I get it. I am still waiting for approximately 6 water, 4 pops, 2 coffee, and sugar to be sent to my tables. If you ask for a drink or something during the meal, the staff acknowledge you but you're lucky if you actually get it. I was baffled by this. Tables at the buffet were not reset once used. If they were, they were not reset completely... often missing glasses or Utensils, Napkins, etc. It is as if the staff is running around not knowing what their job is. There is no clear direction. Housekeeping was good. I have no complaints. The rooms come with only 2 towels and 2 hand towels... I asked for extra and she maintained this throughout the week. The crib we requested ended up being a playpen... it's base was broken. The staff tried to layer it with blankets... however i had to complain about this as that became a safety concern for my 5 month old suffocating. It was replaced but wasn't much better. Right now, since the hotel has only been open for 1 year, I understand why it's a 5 star. However the furniture is cheap and not maintained. The room furniture is already peeling. In just a matter of time it will be just like any other hotel in cuba. The resort is not set up to manage a lot of people. I think our experience would have been a lot worse if the resort had been full the entire time.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Build to be 5 Diamonds

Excellent layout of resort, with beautiful view, I would think from every room as it was from ours. Magnificent hotel with 34 swimming pools, everything is close by, with just short beautiful pathways to one of the best beaches in the world. Aesthetically designed a la carte restaurants. Hotel is design is such a way that is never crowded. Would suggest, in winter days, for the show, to start earlier, for kids 22:00 the latest, and for adults, 21:00 even later, is way too late. Even so I use it only once, can't skip to mention the gym, neatly organized, on top of the roof with beautiful view of the ocean and another big lounge right next to it. Food, since it is important to mention at these times: Buffet restaurant had neatly served fresh food, with your choice to pick something different every meal every day. Spanish perssutto, cheese and wine. Wine/Vine and whiskey available at every restaurant. Electricity: since it is also IMPORTANT to mention at these times - whole island with it's 22 hotels has it own power plant, therefore it ALWAYS HAS ELECTRICITY. Even so everything was clean, one suggestion I would like to make, as for every hotel/resort in beautiful Cuba, is to have a dedicated person to look after every corner of these beautiful beaches. Because after storms or even windy days there are things to be taken care of, plastics around or other equipment or others things half covered is sand, to be checked for, along the whole length of the beach to the last corner. Really important is to find a person with elan, who would, not do this just as a job, but who would perform this with passion, being keen to keep every corner beautiful as it is. Afterall, this is in fact the most important of all, and a reason why we and millions of other people from around the globe come to Cuba.

Melia Internacional: Beautiful reaort

The resort is big, very clean and beautiful. I don’t have much bad things to say besides The tiles near the pool area should’ve been none slippery tiles. The tiles they have there are very slippery. There is no entertainment during the day, which is sad. But night time entertainment is well done. No one comes around at the pool to take any order for drinks which someone should. Food is not my type of food but I survived. You can’t get no French fries unless it’s with a sandwich. Lucky I bring my own bread which I shouldn't. Other wise nice resort.

Paradisus Varadero: Loved it

Staff were friendly, hotel clean, food ok never went hungry. Some hiccups but beach made up for everything. Yours sales lady super awesome and really helpful making our trip so special!! Cuba is struggling due to US restrictions!! Support CUBA

Paradisus Los Cayos: Great resort, amazing staff

This was a great resort. Clean and organized. The staff was amazing with us and my boys. The pool was a little cold but clean. The beach was amazing as well as the staff bringing drinks and taking guests out on the mini catamaran. The food was bountiful and great variety. The rooms were spacious & clean but hot water for the shower was tepid. The balcony was a great place to enjoy a beverage late afternoon. Would definitely return and recommend.

Sol Palmeras: Потрясающий курот

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Resort

Melia Cayo Santa Maria holds a 4 Star Went there 2 weeks ago, honestly everything was great. No shortage of food and drinks. There was beef, pork, fish, and even pasta. Snack bar was amazing. For drinks the variety is endless with a very nice selection of cocktails. It was way more than I even expected. The staff were super friendly. Some have worked with the Melia chain for over 30 yrs including one of the chef there. The place was very clean.Everything was up-kept. This resort should not have a 4.5 star. During our stay Dec 7-14 2024 repetative food and menus in restaurants which weren’t all open. Toilet paper often empty in lounge and rests rooms. Towels in room often not replaced. Rooms need upgrading. Fridge not restocked daily with water and beer. Resort itself is beautiful and workers are lovely and pleasant. Beach is beautiful but hard on feet getting in due to shells and coral. Would not return to this resort. Would try others since Cuba beaches ar [... read more]e beautiful.

Sol Palmeras: Great week in Cuba

After many years we decide to revisit Cuba. We chose Sol Palmeras because of the many great reviews, and we’re glad we did. The resort is clean, the staff is friendly and the beach is beautiful. The nightly entertainment in the lobby bar and around the pool is great. We never had any issues finding chairs about the pool or on the beach. Unlike some comments I’ve read in reviews from other resorts, we always had fresh towels in our room, and were able to change our beach towels daily.
