Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great Resort

We were in building 7, ground floor. Access to the pool, a bar and the ocean within feet of our door. Excellent location 😊 Small pool right off our patio, the bar beside was a ala carts at night. Noise was minimal / steak ala carted was great/ no reservation required 😊

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Place for the Price

I was very pleased with this resort. The ground were very clean and tidy and the beach was cleaned daily of seaweed. The theater was outside in the atrium of the resort by the pools. I had a room near the pool and every night I could hear very loudly the show from 0830 at night until 1000 and one night it went to midnight. This would not be an issue for adults, but I had a child who goes to bed at 800 and he found the noise very distracting. The food at the a la carte restaurants was amazing, the buffet was average; the deserts were tasteless. I was surprised that this resort does not have an ice cream bar, and the only time ice cream was offered was as a small desert at the a la carte restaurant. Also, trying to get a coffee at the breakfast buffet was trying to wrangle a horse. Most time I did not get a coffee until breakfast was finished as the staff who serve the coffee never seemed to be around. When you did see them and call them over you got a roll of the eye, but a coffee in your mug. However, the weather, the ground, the pool the beach were all pristine and my family had an amazing time at the resort. We did an excursion to ocean world and did the shark swim. This was an excellent place, and was definitely worth the money spent. DO NOT do the city tour with the cable car to the mountain excursion. Basically you are forced to stay in gift shops for 3 hours of the tour in which you pay for. They claim you visit a rum factory, an amber museum, and a cigar factory. These three spots are all gift shops which you are forced to stay in for half hour each place, then then take you to an actual gift shop, then another shop at the end to buy food (because it was 2 in the afternoon and food is not provided). The only parts of the city we saw was the cable car ride (rushed in and out), and a fort (we were given 10 minutes to visit). Basically you pay 45 dollars US to be trapped in gift shops.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: DISAPPOINTING!!

PROS. Very nice rooms, well kept beautiful grounds, rooms and resort kept very clean. CONS. Beach is NOT as pictured, has large breaker bags in water as to prevent erosion, however they were smelly and not pretty to look at if you had ocean view room!! Water was murky looking, not nice to go in. Pools were dirty and had many screaming kids. Grrr! FOOD was aweful!!! Same thing everyday and several restaurants closed for several days at a time! WTHeck! Towels were almost extinct everyday [... read more] even in Sun Club. SUN CLUB, well it was probably worth the extra $$ however they were always running out of premium liquor. The club pool was quite nice. They never told us about Club amenities when we arrived and put us in a room farthest from the Sun Club pool & lounge....took us a couple days to find that out. TIMESHARE GURUS.... they say its not time share but they are relentless! Spoils part of your vacation. It was one thing after another with this resort. I would not return nor recommend!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Wonderful Hotel & People

Everything was very neat and clean Hotel staff went above and beyond to help All staff were extremely polite and friendly Beach & Pools were always clean Steak, Italian and Japanese restaurants foods were perfect No reservations were needed for the a la carte's - except for the Japanese This was great idea as no long line ups! Sunscape Curacao Resort: Best vacation ever.

My husband and I have been travelling for over thirty five years and I must say this is the best vacation we have ever been on. From the time we booked until we arrived home it has been worry free. Heather Felice went above and beyond with her personal care. One couple we travelled with didn’t notice the misspelling of his name. Heather was notified and she sent new travel docs down to the resort to make sure we had no issues when leaving Curacao. Staff at the hotel were the most pleasant people we’ve met, always considerate and it was always “my pleasure” when serving us. The smiles and friendliness of everyone was unbelievable. Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Clean resort

The resort as a whole was nice. Very confusing to find your way around though. Not much of a beach, all washed away. The staff worked hard to remove the seaweed daily. Power went out daily. Spa coupons were NEVER available. Food was decent but bland. Rooms were always cleaned and resort was tidy. The entertainment was blah. Half of the staff were not very friendly. The other half great. Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Sunscape family vacation

We had a great family vacation (there were 10 of us all in junior suites). The area was amazing with the contrast of the ocean and the mountains. The thunderstorms at night was fun. Positives-the staff were great. -The view from our junior suite was amazing. -The food in the Italian restaurant and the Mexican restaurant was wonderful. -the activities were fun and kept our 5 children (ages 11 to almost 17) busy and entertained.  [... read more] -the location was good. You could walk to town/stores and it was close to the airport. -if the room would have storage, we would have loved it. There was lots of room and a separation from the sleep area and sitting area was great Negatives-there was nowhere to unpack (no dressers or shelves) although we were in a higher priced room -some of food in the buffet was marginal. The selection was limited. -the fridge was not restocked If you are on a budget this is a great option.

Our stay at this resort was nice but there are a few things I would like to say. First off it rates itself as a four star resort online and it is certainly not, I’d say it is a three star and going in knowing that would help people to manage their expectations. The food is hit and miss as is the service and quite honestly they could do with a better rotation or selection of foods. But I think all resorts face this challenge. Overall we did enjoy ourselves but I would only recommend the resort if you are ok with a three star and all that entails.

The hotel was very clean.The pools were awesome,fantastic variety of food and all the staff were awesome,The best time I have had so far at this resort and the improvements they have made are very nice!

This was our third visit to this resort, we were married there last year. We love the atmosphere, the people and the food is always delicious. It is an older hotel but the friendliness of the staff and service make it a great vacation. Our big criticism this time was the new time share sales pitch. Sunscape Dominican Beach: Sunclub a MUST

The minute i arrived i told the clerk at the check-in counter that we were celebrating getting engaged and he proposed upgrading to sunclub for a unique VIP trip. I took the opportunity and i did not regret it one second. The high end booze and private pool/beach were AMAZING plus they gave us a room oceanview with a jaccuzi in the room. Will definetely reccomend and probably will be my choice in DR from now on !

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Pleasant

The resort overall was great! The rooms were nice however problem with the sliding door to the balcony (easily locks when closed). The beach was not as portrayed in the pictures. Seaweed was everywhere. A huge rock/shoal was in front of the resort. The staff were very friendly. Entertainment in the lobby was crowded, not much room to sit. Atmosphere was good. We made the best out of our vacation and met some great people.

The resort was beautiful however the beach was full of seaweed. The pictures of the beach prior to the trip did not capture the truth. I was very disappointed with this however the rest of the resort was amazing!

resort is 5 stars to us..checkin--checkout,smooth room was well kept and spotless maidservice was excellent;anything you needed wes gotten right away room fridge always stocked ground well maintained;pools very clean beach great staff super friendly;felt like family food was AMAZING!! would go back tomorrow

Sunscape Cove: Incredible Resort

We absolutely loved this resort. Both my Mom and I are extensive travelers and have been to many resorts on many different islands in the Caribbean. We both were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed by the Sunscape Cove. The resort is immaculate, the service is stellar, the rooms were lovely, clean and updated, the pools were clean and the ocean was breathtaking. Sunscape Splash: Staff are amazing

Enjoyed our stay here !! We have stayed at this hotel in the past and loved it!! My daughter loves the entertainment team and always seem to make many friends in the pool and at all the various activities they offer!! The staff is so friendly and always make you feel welcome and special like a part of the family!!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Average 3 star

Customer service lacking huge. Food variety is average. Rooms are dirty and outdated. Beach is not the greatest. Staff can be nice. Night time security has a lot of attitude, actually makes you feel unsafe. The island is beautiful. Spent more time and money off the resort due to the negative experience. Wouldnt go back nor recommend it to any friends or family.

Everything was good at this resort! Only thing we didn’t like was all the seaweed at the beach & in the ocean. We aren’t sure if it was the time of year or if it’s always like it, but we made the best of it & still swam in it.

Just came back from a nice family vacation In Punta Cana. Upon arriving we upgraded to sun club. It was around 380 for 10 days. The first few days we didn't think it was worth the upgrade but by the end of the trip we did think it was worth it. The room was very fresh and clean with a nice double shower. Everyone who worked there were super friendly! Especially a guy named Nathan who made sure everyone was taken care of. He was always there to help us with various things and made sure our stay was as good as possible. The pool was also very nice although it was a bit annoying that anyone could go there since there was no way of knowing if they were part of sun club or not. The grounds of the hotel where very beautiful and there were several pools and places to eat to choose from. Our favorite pools were the relaxed pool and the sun club pool and our favorite restaurants were chopsticks and Sunny side grill. The pizza place was also great for the kids. I also want to mention that the beach is not very pretty. The drinks at the resort were nice, but their orange juice was disgusting and we had a hard time finding milk for the kids. One time we got it from a nice bartender at Flip Flops and another from the cafe. But it was a milk hunt every other day haha. And it tasted strange.... I also tried the spa which was excellent! Overall the resort was great with lots to do and fun for kids. The negative are those annoying vacation club people who try to trick you into having a welcome breakfast when you get there. Trying to make you feel guilty that they would not get any points from their boss or whatever if you don't go and saying that the whole thing is only to celebrate the hotels whatever Birthday. Another negative experience we had was the guy who works for Amstar who convinced us to take an excursion called Marinarium. He said it was great for kids and also the only excursion they recommend to pregnant women. Well we had one 4 year old and one 22 month old with us while booking this trip. We thought it would be fun to see some fish, stingrays etc. I had a naiv idea in my head that it would be snorkeling in calm clear waters with colorful fish. The excursion was basically a party boat. The snorkeling area was in rough water where we had to be dragged out in the middle of the ocean to a closed up pen area while holding one kid in one arm and the life ring in the other. Luckily the kids had their puddle jumpers on. We were only given some floating yellow belt that you strapped around your waist. Even my husband felt unsafe during this swim in the ocean. The kids cried and we had to swim back to the boat. When we left the party boat continued with blasting music. Also the net around the deck on the boat had large holes in it so you had to hold on to your kids as much as possible, they could easily fall off the boat. I got so angry with the idiot who said that this was a very suitable excursion for us. I should have done more research myself but stupidly enough we trusted that guy. Even our west jet rep later said that the marinarium is definitely not good for small children. I am still so angry with that guy, sooooooo angry! Avoid Marinarium if you have young children, especially if they can't swim and avoid it if you yourself are not a comfortable swimmer.

My friend and I visited Sunscape Resort and Spa ending of May to the first week in June. The hospitality and service was exceptional. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your needs are met.
