Hotel Los Cactus: Perfect getaway

If your looking for a quiet no kids place to go this is it. Rooms were perfect, close to everything but because of the mature grounds we never felt we were in a fully booked hotel. Food was the best of any Cuban hotel we ever stayed at. Drinks were top shelf and service was always with a smile. If you have time visit Havana, it's a beautiful city, tours are available from any tour rep in the hotel. We are coming back next year....!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: A REAL HIDDEN GEM TO BE EXPLORED!!!!

An absolutely great resort! The Sunscape Curacao and Air Canada Vacations have the best check in ever.NO WAITING. You don't touch your baggage and wait in line at all. They drop you off in a convention room where hostesses treat you to drinks, hors doevres and a cool hand cloth.Your room key card, info and baggage tags are already there. You simply identify your luggage and the porters put the room number tag with it and deliver it. Best check in ever! The food was excellent, well prepared and well presented. The resort is to be complimented on their culinary attributes. The large dining area which had the buffet was also great.We went to the St. James Club in Antigua last year and thought that their buffet was huge and delicious. I must admit that we were blown away by the buffet at the Sunscape. It was larger and had many more choices than you could imagine. Absolutely well done and delicious. The rooms were clean, the grounds were immaculate, the pool areas very nice.The beach was protected by a rock break which made snorkelling great.The staff was probably the best we have encountered on any trip so far. hey are friendly, helpful and always smiling. They had entertainment each night and even a small Carnival. My wife and I have travelled to numerous islands in the Caribbean. You should not overlook The Sunscape Curacao.You will be pleasantly surprised. And by the way, the Capital Willemstad is a must to visit!! An incredible experience and the best shopping in the Caribbean.Forget the larger islands and get to Curacao where smaller is better!!!

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful grounds

The grounds of this resort were beautiful.. There were lots of places to hang out, even on the day it rained we found a bar we had not yet visited and curled up with a book beside the hot tub. The coffee bar was our favourite. Superb service.

Memories Jibacoa: Relaxing and friendly

This was my third time at Memories Jibacoa and it won't be my last. Clean, comfortable and friendly. As an adults only, it's much quieter and relaxing. Great beach, nice pool, friendly staff. Nice piano bar.

Hotel Los Cactus: Fourth Visit!!!!!!!!!!

This trip I brought 6 girlfriends with me. We all had a fantastic time! Our rooms were great, the staff as always wonderful, the beach is the best ever'! The weekly Friday night lobster was the best yet. The girls didn't enjoy the food in the beginning, but after a couple of days, everybody figured out what they enjoyed and we were all happy! The liqueurs are not like ours, so I don't recommend them unless you are at the VIP lounge at the airport ($30 cuc)' well worth it as you are in an air conditioned space and can eat and drink as much as you like until boarding. I will go back again and my friends are talking about going back with their families. The Cuban people are lovely and it is very safe to travel outside the resort. Taxi, bus and motorbikes available at a decent price. Excellent value for your money. For the first time, because the U.S. Rate is so high, we lost a lot converting Canadian to Cuban dollars. (Cuc). Next time I will exchange here before I leave. I hear that this hotel is going to be bought out in the next couple of years. What a shame! Go while the rates are still low. $1000 Canadian for a week all in. My one friend said, we couldn't go to Hamilton for the weekend that cheap! HOLA!

Hotel Los Cactus: very good

just one problem with lower level rooms with serious mold issues. We were moved after one night.These rooms should be fixed. Otherwise the stay was great.This resort is very good but the issue with tho mold gives the resort a bad review. We were not the only people with this issue.

Hotel Los Cactus: Amazing resort for Cuba

Rooms were excellent, very clean lovely balconies. Grounds were well maintained. Lobby was very inviting good place to hang out around bar or watch TV. Lots of places to eat and drink. Lobster night was a hit, Italian restaurant great, Barbeque night was good. Buffet was good once you figured out what to eat. ( Omlettes, Pasta, Fish, Desserts.

Best vacation ever.... Beautiful resort wonderful food.... I will definitely be going back ... Not one bad thing to say... Beautiful beach rooms were very nice staff was excellent as were the drinks.... Perfect weather everyday

Hotel Bella Costa: The price was right

The food at the buffet was good,, The a la carts were terrible. The rooms were old but clean. We had no water pressure st all. The staff very friendly. The pool area was clean and well kept up all day. The resort is close to down town. Lots of dry beach towels. If you leave them laying around, they go missing

Memories Jibacoa: Heaven on a Beach

This hotel has it all. Well manicured beaches,ample lounge chairs,friendly staff members,and amazing food. Hotel Los Cactus: Great resort

First off this is cuba not Las Vegas. The star rating do not carry the same meaning as they would in north america. Having said that, this is an excellent vacation spot with large clean rooms and helpful and friendly staff. The beech is WOW, white sand and warm water with plenty of chairs. The food is good if you choose wisely. Select foods cooked freash on the grill and you will not go wrong. A great resort, been there 6 times,and 18 times in cuba overall.

Hotel Los Cactus: Quite resort

the service was good, the food was OK if you are used to eat Cuban food if not you will have to dine out the grounds were fantastic, the beach are was probably the most cleaned beach I ever seen in Cuba.

Rooms on the Beach Negril: Great resort

Everything was great, Small quiet, clean, neat hotel. There were small things could be improve. There was no soap in the bathroom. The breakfast suffered some shortages. We took the trip recommended by the agent. The guide was knowledgeable and everything according to trip schedule.

Breezes Bahamas: A nice relaxing break

We returned to Breezes after many years and while it is showing a bit of age, the owners are keeping things running smoothly. The food was good, including the buffet. The portions were healthy so don't expect any 20oz steaks. However, the food was cooked properly and we felt satisfied after each meal. The rooms were basic but the bed was comfortable at that is the most important thing. Some people complained about dampness in the rooms but while there was some in wasn't any worse than the Riu  [... read more]in Jamaica or Aruba. Also considering the island had a full week of heavy rain from a hurricane just 3 weeks earlier, I can give them some leniency on dampness. The beach was great as was the spa. My wife enjoyed finding out that Shell was trained in proper Shiatsu techniques rather than the fake Shiatsu services at many resorts. The staff was friendly and helpfully, making the visit a success.

Memories Jibacoa: Disappointing

Unfortunately we will not return to Memories Jibacoa. There were many returnees there while we were there and they were disappointed as well.It was very hot and there are not enough fans in the buffet area There are fans in the main buffet area, but not in the surrounding buffet area. The 2 restaurants are air conditioned, but we were only able to eat there twice for a week's visit. Food was average, better than the buffet gor sure.Our room was air conditioned... Thank God, but on the last day i [... read more]t seemed to be wearing out. There was a huge influx of flies, they were everywhere, extremely annoying and could be a potential health risk. They said they were spraying, but to no avail. The lobby bar was out of glasses almost every night,( around dinner time). There were using cheap plastic glasses that are used at the pool bar.If you squeezed too hard, your drink spilt out. The food was not palatable. Fish and meat out in the heat. It was on ice, most of the time, but it melted very quickly. And the flies were all over the food.,The good part of the buffet was the omelet maker every am and the pasta bar every pm.The 2 chefs did a fabulous job, despite the awful heat. The staff are the best and the only positive comment we can make. They are wonderful. They work extremely hard. One waitress started at 6:30 am and worked until 1130 pm!! She said it was OK and that is what is done as they change shifts the next day. I do not know if this was her choice, but a very unsafe situation.I believe Sunwing is part owner of this resort and if true, they should be taken to task in a big way!! The impression among the guests is that mgmt appears to be cutting corners. This was relayed to us by guests who had visited the resort in the past. Changes for the worst. The pool is clean and nice but tiles are missing. If this continues it won't be so nice. The beach and grounds are lovely. The grounds appear to be well looked after. Some guests arriving for dinner had no place to sit, so there was a scramble to assemble tables. Apparently there were more tables with the previous owners. We had a trip to Havana for a day and that made the trip worthwhile. We will not recommend this resort to anyone.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Really Enjoyed

Customer service was amazing. No issues. Everyone friendly. First resort I have been to where members of management asked on a continual basis if all was good. Great for snorkelling. Room in Sunclub A+

Memories Jibacoa: It is a very nice place.

I wasn't impressed that there was no one to take our bags to the room or when we checked out. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were very nice. There was a good selection of food at the buffet.

Memories Jibacoa: Tropical Setting

Located between the mountain and the sea gives this resort a very lush tropical feel. It is very different than the outer cays.Every thing is done to make sure you have an enjoyable time, just ask and they will try to accomadate you.There are a few wrinkles, the buffet food is mediocre, but the grills are good. The beach is rocky so take beach shoes as this is a snorkellers paradise.No air in the dining area will bother some in 30 degree weather.Over all it is a lovely resort, with great staff.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful resort with some room for improvements

The hotel is gorgeous! Very well maintained. Great layout (building 7 was in the perfect central location). Nice rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is very good. A la cartel restaurants are amazing. Delicious food! The beach is nice but be aware there is a huge reef just off shore. Great for snorkelling/scuba but makes it hard to walk out. And people walking all over the reef is killing it. It's gorgeous and should be being protected. Wifi is still not available (but it's being hooke [... read more]d in now) and my Roam like Home didn't work there. You have to use the hotel computers. Not ideal. My biggest complaint was the beds. I found them unbelievably hard. I've heard they are getting new beds but that didn't help me. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat. My few issues are on their to do list. This resort could easily make itself a 5 star with a few small changes. Thankfully the people, location and scenery well outweigh the few issues.
