Good Resort

Overall the resort was fine. The food selection was not the best. The service was very slow but everyone was nice. The rooms are old and outdated but very clean. I liked the beach and the size of the resort. The entertainment was great.

Thank goodness for the snorkeling

The hotel itself was very clean. Food was the worst. Standard room only have shower & pedestal sink...NOWHERE to put toiletries. Loungers on beach get unlocked at 8 & locked up at 4:30. Worst mattress.

CLUB NOT SO MUCHA

The best thing I can say about the resort was the weather and my villa room was a great location, across from the pool. It was my first trip to Cuba and I was warned by others that the food was not very good so I did not expect to be wowed and I wasn't. The people were friendly overall but if you did have a complaint about anything it would fall on deaf ears. For some reason it was difficult to get a good cup of coffee, confusing as they grow their own beans. I myself have no desire to go back there or to Cuba period.

Amazing resort

The rooms were basic,comfortable, and cleaned each morning by the staff. The resort was a happy place to be with friendly smiles and happy people. Lots of choices at the buffet for all your meals. Everyday we found lots to do at the resort,bikes,paddle boats,mini golf. This was my first vacation away,i loved every minute. Hope to see you next year ClubAmigo. The Davidsons.☺

A very spacious resort!

Once I upgraded to a bungalow I found the room to be comfortable,clean and the cost was reasonable. The staff was very friendly and the service was good with lots of options for food and drink! A large resort and easy to get turned around at first.

Beautiful beach

Club Amigo is a very large resort with lots to offer. Beautiful beach, nice pools with swim up bar, lots of restaurants. This being said made for large line ups at best buffets, no availability to 'a LA carte ' restaurants, no tables available and shortage of favorite foods. Food was very good, drinks cold and weather warm and sunny. Had to purchase water to drink and brush teeth, as water was treated but had a very strong chorine like taste which also came through in the drinks from the ice cub [... read more]es. Rooms in the standard area are small and musty with no balconies and twin beds.

Great trip

Overall I had an amazing week at this hotel. I stayed in the tropical section and the room was decent but had no fridge and was not the best, however I did not spend much time in the room. A friend stayed in the villas and they were a lot nicer and quieter. The resort was huge! Lots of walking to get anywhere so you don't get to know everyone. The hotel is right next to local beach parties and restaurants which was a highlight of the trip and would recommend this hotel just for that experience.  [... read more]Amazing snorkeling if you take a paddleboat as well. Beautiful beaches and a nice pool. Food wasn't great but I hear that's everywhere on cuba. I recommend coming to this hotel if don't mind the huge size and if you want an amazing experience with locals. The market is also right next to it and it's amazing as well. This was my first time to Cuba and it was overall an amazing experience and I'll be definitely coming back soon :)

Another great trip.

Had another great trip to our home away from home. This is our second time going to this resort and noticed alot more upkeep. The grounds were very tidy and clean. Will definatley be going back. The only thing that could of been better is to have poutine at the snack bar by the square pool more then just one day. lol.

Club Amigo Guardalavaca

Grounds well kept and all the palm trees and gardens were beautiful. The beaches and pools were great. Food ok. Rooms dated and old but who cares when most of my time was not in room. All in all a good deal. Would go back again.

Love this Resort

We love this resort because it is right in Guardalavaca. You can go and meet and party with all of the local Cubans. Can walk on a flat walk way all the way down the beach. The sit down breakfast at the 24 hr bar is amazing. If you don't like what is on the buffet there is lots of local Cuban restaurants to go to. This is our third time to this resort and will continue to go back

Nice resort

Travelled week of Feb 19-26, 2016. Large resort. 4 pools and several dining areas. Food was typical Cuba. Not a great selection but you won't starve. Very good a la cartes. Italian especially. Friendly staff. Resort & pools were clean, beach not so much. Had a great holiday, met lots of people who go back every year. Weather was perfect.

Beautiful beach

This was our first time in Cuba and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the beach was amazing, but the food - not so great. But they do the best they can! The service was a little slow as well so we did a lot of waiting.

Wake up !

There was a lot of good people and lots of potential at this resort. Some really good staff who treated you well . There was also many staff who could care less about us or our time. I have lots of examples , the main lobby store closed for 45 mins during the time buses were leaving for the airport because the two ladies working there decided they would go eat together. We were waiting in line to sign up for a la carte, the staff member stood up and said see you in an hour , and walked out, leav [... read more]ing a line up of amazed people. It seems the goal is to do the least as possible for many staff , and it's obviously a management issue. Like cooking eggs and pasta on low , what the heck is that all about , It is ridiculous and unnecessary and wasted so much of our time. So if you are used to service in Mexico and want to use your vacation minutes wisely and you get upset with long , unnecessary delays then avoid this place .

Good value for the price

This was our second visit to this property.It had changed a lot since we were there several years ago. The beach and grounds are lovely. The week we were there the weather was unusually cool, windy and wet so we we really appreciated the numerous coffee bars! The rooms are clean and maid service was great but there were no balconies so it felt confined when the weather was bad. The food was typical Cuban fare but there was plenty of it! When you can,t be in the pool or the ocean because of the weather there was not a lot to do.

Great resort

Food was acceptable at some restaurants; great at others. Grounds are nicely kept. Beach is fantastic! Staff, especially at the lobby bar is very friendly. Thanks, Eddie, for the great time! Rooms are a little small. We stayed in the tropical section. Would return to this resort in a heartbeat!

Great holiday.

Hotel/rooms were clean and comfortable. Liked all the different restaurants, pool areas, buffets. Good selection of tasty food, even the beef was tender here. Cloudy for a few days, but still hot enough.

Awesome beaches!

This was our third Club Amigo vacation. Great beaches. Good entertainment. The water ballet is always a highlight. Food and rooms are ok. Cuba isn't known for great food but there was always something there to enjoy. We would definitely go back. Great price and value.

Enloyable Resort

The hotel was good and staff was very good. Trip was very enjoyable. We did a carriage excursion and Robert our guide was very knowledgeable and a gracious host. This carriage excursion was the highlight of our trip.

Nice resort

It was our first trip to this resort. Food was not a highlight. Room was small but clean. Entertainment was great. Service was very good. The market was a great daily adventure. Lots of free fun things to do on resort.

Awesome time. great resort

We stayed in the garden section..rooms were amall but always super clean..our maid was amazing and kind and always made sure we were taken care of. The grounds were well kept and clean. The food was actaully really good.. Best we have had in 7 trips all over cuba . we cant wait to return.. The staff were awesome and always helpful.
