Nice resort

The hotel and grounds were very clean and well maintained, buffet food was great lots of choices. Down side lots of young children very noisy and out all hours and in all areas of resort. Husband slipped on pool stairs seen several people slip and fall, mentioned it to hotel front desk staff. this has been my 3rd time to this resort and have mentioned the stairs and a railing needed.

Beautiful resort and something for everyone!

The resort is very well kept. Extremely beautiful grounds. The pools are clean and never seem too busy! the staff were so friendly and very helpful. The only issue we had was that we couldn't really get into any of the A la Carte dinner restaurants as they were all booked up. Late time slots (past 9:30pm) were available. Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends.

Amazing Resort

Everything that we expected and more! From the rooms to the Beach it was excellent! Food was tasty lots of variety at the buffet! The grounds were always being looked after, from glasses/cups to garbage colection, I was impressed how many people work at this Resort! The rooms where always cleaned and we never ran out of towels. I recomend this Resort hands down!

Magnificent......

The Fabulous well layed out resort. The best resort we have been to in the past 4 years The restaurant food was excellent as was the service by all staff maids, barmen, waiters & gardiners - they could *nt do enough for us--

Lovely resort

staff awesome,grounds spotless,food very good,room although at times damp (maybe a dehumidifier) was lovely. Could have used consistent room cleaning and stocking of mini bar,dirty sheets left on the floor one day near the end of the stay. Lovely towel animals in the first 3 days but none after that. An altercation between management and a guest took place in the lobby in front of the check in desk ,the guest was loud and rude. Fantastic resort!!

Stayed here 12 years ago on my honeymoon and the resort met all my expectations the second time around. Brought my mom on this trip and she couldn't have been happier.....absolutely loved the resort!! My husband and I are planning a two week vacation in Jan of 2016 and the Bahia Principe Club and Resorts are high on our list to return.

Very impressed

This was my first visit to Mexico and from getting off the plane to arriving at the lobby of the Akumel resort was very pleasant.(approx 1.5 hrs but worth it) We were given #71 villa and I would without hesitation say very clean ! After dropping off the luggage off to the buffet WOW. What to choose ... Took me by the end of the week to figure my menu likings.... I would recommend that you book your ala cartes when you arrive so you can get in.. Don Pablo was our favorite .. Spectacular 2nd place [... read more] was Harlequin. We had read before on blogs that you have to get up early and get a lounger by the pool we didnt do that we were at the beach close by the pool/pool bar - It worked well. Everything was in close proximity. The trolly system was good once you figured out getting you to the lobby and other resorts (not hard just have to ask) and by the way we were able to go to all of them enjoying the buffets. This year we went with two other couples next year we are hoping to go with more. Missing Mexico until next year....

Excellent Resort

My fears of Mexico are gone. We had a great time at the Akumal !! The food, the room , the Zumba classes , the beach, the butler,the entertainment and the service staff was all excellent. Well done Bahia Principal Akumal!!!!

Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal

This hotel gets a 5 tar or more fro me. I loved it there. The grounds, were done beautiful. My room was kept clean everyday. The food was great. One exception though. We went to the Italian resturant. There really was not alot of choosing on the menu. I found that there was only a buffet to get some pasta. When getting some, it was not cooked. Great Vacation... Would Definitely Return!

Overall it was a great vacation. Our travel agent Tracy Duffin recommended this resort to us and we are very happy she did. The grounds were beautiful and kept very clean. Our butler Andres was wonderful, he was very knowledgeable abut the hotel an surrounding areas. The beach was very nice, the unfortunate thing was there was quite a lot of seaweed washing up on shore, The hotel, although they worked very hard, could not keep up with the cleanup. Immaculate resort

The grounds were immaculate, the food was great, the service exceptional, other than the weeds (which is out of the hotel's hand), we enjoyed ourselves. Lots of room on the beach, and oh I forget, Beachfront room thanks To Stephanie at Trip Central.

5 Star Everything!

This was our first trip to the BP Akumal. The resort is breathtaking, from the arrival at the main lobby to the amazing views from the beach and the impeccable grounds. The entire property was spotless. A true luxury resort. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Everyone from the front desk to the wait staff in the restaurants to the grounds crew seemed to go out of their way to make our stay pleasant-even if it was just providing directions to an attraction. Fantasies came true to life

Our family had an outstanding and exceptional time at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal in Rivierra Mexico, the last week of February 2015. The food, service, cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff was bar none, the best vacation our family experienced together. We wiuld return there in a heartbeat.

Beautiful resort!

Our favorite part of the resort was our view from the room and the beach area. Not too busy where we were and lots of chairs to chose from. Variety and quality of the food and drinks in the buffet and a la carte restaurants were excellent. Service was pretty good but not outstanding. If I returned to this area I would stay at the Akumal.

Wow!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. The Room was spacious and beautiful, the food was absolutely incredible, the grounds were impeccably kept and the service was second to none. Will go back next year.

A great get away place

this was our return visit in 4 years. a great resort then a better one now . the food was outstanding service second to none,a beach for young and old the only issue we had was the room cleaning was not up to standard.garbage left on floor tub not cleaned bed improperly made.but overall come on down

Great service and excellent restaurants.

The staff are really trying to make sure they live up to the new Don Pablo brand. Great service at all restaurants with only one exception (one dinner at the Italian Restaurant where service was very slow and inattentive) Our rooms was overlooking the beach in Akumel area and couldn't have been nicer.

Great Family Resort

The resort, service was great. Amenities super clean. Rooms 3-4 star. Food 5-star. Only two pools at Akumal though. The beach is steps away and is nice and clean. Bring snorkels! Only annoying thing is the time share guys trying to get your attention everytime you pass them one the way to dining room.

Simply beautiful !!

Everything you could ever want, and more !! with the Don Paublo Collection we had use of amenities at all 4 resorts. Little trains to take you between places - very convenient ! So many a la carte choices and buffets had excellent variety daily. Staff were friendly and attentive to any of your needs or wants. Beach service was terrific. Whatever your choice - relaxing by the pool or beach activities - all there ! Yes, this is big resort and there is lots of walking but the grounds were beautiful [... read more]. Security personnel were discreet but present. Mayan Riviera never disappoints !!!
