The hotel was very spacious, staff were generally friendly for the most part, food was delicious, and overall cleanliness/security was beyond my expectations! Felt safe, has an amazing time and will come back and bring family back too.

Subpar.

The resort itself is very nice. It’s large, nice aesthetic, good kids areas, beautiful beach and for the most part, clean. The staff were mostly friendly, and there were a lot of maintenance workers always working. The food was okay, usually it was cold. We didn’t find out until towards the end of our trip that one of the restaurants was actually open for breakfast and it was much better than the buffet, but still nothing special. I know of two of our group that were sharing a room but arrived to only one bed, and it took them 3 days to get them a room with two beds. They don’t give face towels, you have to order them apparently. My MIL waited 4 days for new bath towels after numerous calls begging for some. They apparently were always out of beach towels even at 9am. Some of us went on an excursion and they provided transportation there but made them all pay to come back. We had misplaced some personal ID paperwork and didn’t realize it until we were leaving and waiting for the bus to take us to the airport, so my husband went to the front desk asking if anyone turned them in and apparently they had been waiting there the whole time. It had our names and the resort and dates we were staying so why they didn’t call us and let us know, who knows. Nobody ever got any of their a la cartes because they were all ‘booked up’. Overall our own personal experience was OKAY, but our group had nothing but nightmares.

Loved the resort!

Everything was great the food, the people , cleanleness of the rooms, large selection from the buffet and also the restaurants. Highly recommend but keep in mind extremely large resort lots of walking.

Nice resort, good bang for your buck

This is a big resort, but for its size it was well kept and clean. The food and drinks were plenty full. our trip was reasonably priced and it met all our expectations and more. We would go back for sure.

So so Resort

Very poor service in dining areas on the whole except for a few individuals. Very poorly stocked bars. Absolutely no preferred drinks were available throughout our stay. Had food poisoning in the Micado Japanese restaurant. Had shrimps as the main meal in the menu. Suggest to keep away from seafood

Relaxing, Beautiful and Freindly

This was our second time returning back to Grand Bahia in Jamaica. This hotel has a long beautiful beach and a great pool for both adults and children. I can't say one bad word about any working staff members in any department. Every person working was very pleasant and friendly. The guys on the beach selling their hand made goods were very nice and also informative about the Island. We happened to be here through Halloween and we were amazed at the preparation and outcome to make it feel like a festive day/night. I would definitely recommend to friends and family to check this resort out. I would like to return again but with my two children as I know they would be safe and enjoy lots.

It is over rated hotel

Amazing Resort

I was very impressed with the ground, well kept. The staff was very friendly. The food 🍲 was very good, clean and clear beach. My group was overall impressed and will go again and will also recommend this hotel to anyone.

Poor customer service.

Our vacation was from October 16-26 2017 we had a great flight and the airport check in went very smooth. The transfer to the hotel was fine as well. We had been to this resort some years ago before the Adult only section was build so we kind of knew the resort.Also the safe is not free there is a cost of $6.00 US a day We didn't like the way the reception was when we got there. The resort is very huge and is well maintained. The things that we didn't like was that out of 10 days we received face clothes in our room only three days. There were a few days we didn't get coffee in the room and we had to call three times one day till we got some. The mini bar is to be stocked with beer and pop and water. This is an all inclusive resort and when we asked why were only received one or two beers in the room even with us leaving a note and money asking for more, my husband was told by the employee if he wanted more he could go to the store and buy more. This is not expectable in my books. The buffet the food was the same old same old everyday. I am not a picky eater but there was days I couldn't find anything I wanted. The beef was like eating shoe leather. Out of the 10 days there we only had one evening that we were asked if we wanted wine or tea or coffee with our evening meal. The Wi-Fi is only available free in the lobby and if you wanted it in your room or at the pool you had to buy a package that was $79.00 US The service was not there and for that reason alone we would not return to this resort.

Beautiful hotel

It’s very good place to go to vacation. There were some little issues, but almost others are ok. Food, people, entertainments are very good. There were some issues found in housekeeping and ala kart reservations. Basically air conditioning is not enough in the room( forget the day time, for night too) Some bar attendant were not treated properly. Airport transfers, co ordinations were good.

Beautiful Vacation

The staff is always willing to help make your stay the best possible. They are great with the kids. We really enjoyed the Japanese and the steak house a la carte. The service was amazing. This was my 3Rd time to this resort and I will continue to keep coming back again and again

Beautiful resort

The resort is very clean and staff was very friendly. Food was great. ...cons..charges $6us dollars a day for safe. .Internet in lobby only unless you want to pay 80 dollars. .They charge $6 extra for a shot of bailey's .The theater is outside so if raining nothing to do.

Will be recommending

Went with two of my adult children and wife. We had a good experience. I have requested two ocean view rooms beside in block 18 before I leave through my agent. Got it and had nice view. Food is very good - specially we like spicy food. They could have more sea foods like fish, crabs etc... . Nice music - as I like Bob Marley. Went to Caribbean islands earlier few times, same resort in Punta Cana. Went out for Donn river fall climbing, enjoyed. Will be recommending

A big disappointment

Our experience was a big disappointment, went we got to our hotel room not very long we see roaches crawling on the floor and in the bathroom,we went and ask for a room change, and our West jet rep karen, got us the room change the next day.went to the new room, only to find for the rest of our stayed the air condition didn't work properly,our jetted tub didn't work we had to bee asking for wash clothes every day seen we got to the hotel.some of the staff was not friendly. Terrific Resort!!

We stayed for a week at the Grand Bahia Princioe Jamaica!! It was amazing! The service was stellar! The food and beverages were great! We loved the restaurants. We had a really fantastic time!! We were taken very good care of by our travel Two and given really good information in the excursions that are available!

Excellent

Glad I went by recommendation of agent and friends and the Bahia good name. We had a very enjoyable stay. The grounds are immaculate. Food, something for everyone on the buffet. The dinner restaurants were excellent. The staff most hostsipable. Our air transat rep Simone was excellent and looked after us well. We especially enjoyed the steel drum band and our catamaran trip to dunn s river falls. Don't listen to the negative reviews. It is NOT over run with cats. Paradise in Jamaica

Stayed at this resort from October 7-12. I have zero complaints. Trip was absolutely perfect in every way. The guest rooms and resort grounds, food, staff and the constant sources of entertainment were all on point throughout the entire stay. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that you aren't lacking anything and are having a good time. I would recommend this resort to anyone (although most people I have talked to have already been and love it)!

Great Family Vacation

My 16 yr old Daughter and I spent a week at the Grand Bahia Principe in Jamaica. We didn't stay on the Plus side of the resort and the room was beautiful and very clean. The staff was excellent, restaurants were amazing, beach was safe for kids very calm and the snorkelling was so much fun off shore. The pool was beautiful and very clean. Fine, but won't be back

My friends and I stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica for 5 days in October. I'd say it's a 4 star hotel at best. The resort itself is beautiful, but huge - clean for the most part, rooms and bathrooms are spacious, nice beach areas. When we arrived, we had to check in through a messy system. Everyone from our bus was herded into a room like sheep, where we had to listen to a speech from hotel staff, fill out forms, and wait in a barely existent line to get our room keys. The buffet food wasn't fresh - a lot of the food seemed old. The beach bar buffet was the same. Garden Grill and Mikado were pretty good; we had great experiences at both. Don Pablo was a disaster. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was extremely disgusting. My friends and I all tried our best to eat the food without complaint, simply because the waiters were so kind and were making such an effort. Two of my friends actually went to the washroom to throw up during the meal. The alcohol, unless you purchase a premium package, was gross. All mixed drinks were syrupy (we were unable to stomach them after the first day), and they only offered one type of beer and one of each red and white wine. The staff in general were great. They were kind, courteous, and helpful. As we were three girls travelling, we weren't asked this of the staff, but we heard from male travellers that they couldn't go anywhere without being pressured to purchase marijuana or prostitutes. We did feel very safe, although as a female I probably wouldn't walk alone on the resort at night. All in all, I wouldn't go back to a Grand Bahia Principe hotel, however I would like to take the opportunity to thank the hardworking staff for doing their best to make our experience the best one possible.

Amazing resort!

Wonderful resort , clean , luxurious, very friendly staff , always eager to please ! Food was wonderful , pools very clean ! Crystal clear water at the beach . Never had to wait for food or drinks . Ala carte restaurants were outstanding !
