Nice beach everything else not so much

The beach was the only good thing about the resort. The food was subpar, and the vast majority of the staff were not helpfull. The resort was always out of spoons and soda. The rooms were clean, but the Air conditioning did not work. To say the beds were uncomfortable is an understatement. You could not walk around the resort at night without getting eaten a live by mosquito.

Meh resort, brilliant beach

This was my 4th time in Cuba and I guess I must have stayed at some really nice resorts in the past because I was quite disappointed with this one. The room they put us in was disgusting. It had mold on the walls, smelt stale and beds were hard as a rock. The moved us to the 2nd level and the room was way better but the AC didn't work!! And in 42 degrees, you definitely need the cool break. Food was ok at the buffet. A la carte Restaurants were delicious. Beach was just stunning, super busy.  [... read more]Pool was nice. Service was ok...half the time they were out of something. One day it was ice, another it was pop, another it was pina coladas...etc. entertainment was...well interesting and Kind of lacking. Overall, I would not Come to this resort again. Spend the extra few dollars and pick a nicer place.

Avarage resort

We went to Memories Carbie resorts and spa. The beach is beautiful. We loved it. There is a lot of mosquitos and black Flys. In the rooms there is a king bed. Don't leave sweets open theres alot of sweet liking ants .

We went for the beach and we were in paradise

From Spain this trip was 4 times more $$. Why? I don't know. The resort itself is smaller then many others and we loved that. 5 nights and 6 full days and most stuff knew our names and were wonderful! We flew direct with Sunwing from Toronto to CCC at 6:30am and were on the beach by 10:40 am! The day we left, we stayed on the beach till 5pm and the free shuttle bus took us to close by airport at 5:30 pm. All the drinks were included! So add rum or something to it or ask the bartender to surprised and he will be happy to do it! OUR Superior Balcony balcony had a romantic and breathtaking away view of the lagoon, nice size balcony on 2nd floor and total privacy! We woke up to sunrise and it's reflection in the water.... total peace and tranquility despite the fact that we were in block 19 close to Theatre Stage and pool. The BEACH = was one of the BEST in the world for shallow clean peaceful water and view on both sides of shores without any hotels or construction! The sand was darker gold and at our hotel soft. We were able to wonder off into each side of the beach for a stretch of one to two hours. The hotel next to us, it's bigger, with construction, with corals and rocks ... but you can't see from the water as it's hidden by trees. That's another bonus that we always found (at times with some creativity) chairs in the shade. But the trees and 3 or so rows of chairs/beds is very helpful as the direct sun is HOT even for a beach lover like my friend from Ibiza! We walked and walked along the beach, nature and us... no other people around.... we were in paradise! In the early afternoon as others, we were able to put our chairs in the "biggest swimming pool" with a drink in one hand and holding each other's hands and trying to believe that a place like this still exists againts the greed of huge hotels and over crowded areas. The hotel was sold out, but not crowded, don't ask me why. It's NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel!!! And we did not go for that, we got what we went for and MORE! The food was average, and we dined at 3 restaurants and nothing to write much about, but we eat healthy and there were enough choices for that. Who goes to Cuba for food or fancy hotel rooms? Please go to another island so I don't listen to your complaints. My only complaint to the hotel management was the fact that NO ONE can do anything about beach towels as there aren't any to exchange. We washed ours in the ocean and sun dried and reused it. It was fun :) just had to plan and think ahead. The hotel grounds are kept clean and we did not find anything broken or worth complaining about. We would go back again and again.. Just bring DEED for misquitos (tiny ones that you can hardly see). I got few bites, my friend got more and I saw other people with a lot of bites! It's taking a week for them to go away from our bodies. Still scratching .... "Memories of Caribe Beach Resort" The best show was Michael Jackson, so please do NOT miss it. We took the bus for 5 CUCs to Playa Pilar and after 3 hours were happy to return to our Paradise beach for the reasons above. I had been to other places and hotels in Cuba, not to mention other places in the world, so has my partner who travels the world from Ibiza. Our values and appreciation for nature and privacy and peace and each other's company may be very different from other travellers. This is my personal experience. I must also thank the stuff at TripCentral for all the assistance and getting us ready for the trip.

Amazing!!

This resort is awesome. Ya sure it's a little dated but you are there for the beach...and when I say beach I mean WOW. Best beach in Cuba. Nothing compares. Food was good, room was good. Can't pass up that beach.

Faut voir

Hôtel bien et chambre confortable, très très belle plage sable blanc. La bouffe c'est Cuba mais il y avait de la très bonne pizza à la plage et au restaurant qui est ouvert 24 heures et on trouvait toujours des frites et les hot dog était bon. Je recommande cette pour le prix Hôtel $710.00 à la fin juin.

Memories Caribe Cayo Coco

Our arrival on the first day was a bit disappointing as there was a huge thunderstorm with lightning and we were told to go to our room and wait for for the bellboy to deliver our luggage. The key didn't work so we stood there for over 20 minutes waiting. Finally we saw one of the workers and told him our problem. Was quite a first experience. However the staff was very friendly. The food could be better. The beach was the most beautiful out of all the resorts we have been in Cuba. We would definitely go back to Cayo Coco but not Memories Caribe.

Run down, not deep down clean

Beach was great, everything else very run down. Room run down, lock broke. Food ok. Air conditioning in bar good. The beds were very hard, lamp shades dirty, curtains ripped, poor paint job in the room.

Awesome beach

Had a fun time at the resort. Staff was friendly food was to me above average. To me the hotel is a little dated. Have to step up the cleanliness of the hotel especially the rooms. The mosquitoes are crazy at this resort. The beach was probably one of the best I've been too.

FUN & great staff

I am handicapped and i took my mom to Cuba for her 85th birthday.. Our rooms were great handicap rooms close to the lobby and pool ... Bell boys were excellant about taking us to and from locations in the golf carts.. the rooms were big and clean and great AC! The food was good, lots to choose from and they had SALT, PEPPER, BUTTER, Ketcup and Mustard!!! I was impressed! Never will return to this resort

This resort should not be rated a 4 star! When we arrived we had no air conditioning, the hair dryer did not work, the toilet would not stop running, the patio doors were hard to open and close, the screens on the doors were torn, and It took them 4 days before we were transferred into a different room. The room we were transferred into had no hot water. For the amount of money that I had spent on this vacation was not worth it at all. This resort only had 1 show per night at 9 o'clock every nig [... read more]ht, it was the same thing over and over, just music and dancers. The 24 hour bar only had a TV as there entertainment. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS RESORT TO ANYONE AT ALL.

Amazing reaort

This resort exceeded my expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Reaort size was perfect not to big but not to small. The staff are incredible! There truly is no reason to leave the reaort everything you need is all there. The beache is spectacular. The food was better than my previous trips. The only thing I can even speak negitivly on is that I wish they would change the sheets in our room. Excellent Resort

Excellent resort - Friendly staff. Entertainment was good. the only issue we had was no hot water or pressure at certain times of the day. When we timed it right, it was great. Rooms are beautiful and clean.

Great beach

a typical Cuban resort. Food was Ok, Service was great. Rooms were Ok but lacking hot water. Beach was the the best part. They did not have any local musicians playing which was very disappointing. No one in the piano bar. We did not have a pool ballet show as advertised.

Great for Families!

It's a smaller resort with mature landscaping and well maintained grounds. The rooms are dated but large and everything worked well (air conditioning, hot water etc.) The beach is stunning! At low tide the beach is wide and we never had to battle to get beach chairs or shade as the mature trees bordering the beachfront offered great shade all day. Great beach!

Great staff, beach and grounds but the rooms are very, very tired. The beds and furniture were very uncomfortable. The food was okay , we certainly never went hungry. We really enjoyed the Italian dinner on the beach.

Most beautiful beach I've ever seen

We enjoyed our stay here and more than likely will be back. The beach was the best part of this trip. The food was good and the staff were friendly. We did run into a few problems though. We went as a group of 7, my husband and I, Our two daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids (one year old and 3 year old). The first glitch was the suitcase with all of the baby items in it was last, medicine, food, etc.. Thank Goodness she was still breast feeding to smooth him. The stroller was stollen on day 2 of the trip at the beach so that another big issue. The hotel didn't put our rooms together as requested. We were oppposite sides of the hotel. They finally switched our rooms half way through trip. Overall we did enjoy ourselves-just a lot of inconveniences. a lot of the air conditioning wasn't working in some rooms as well as ours. I did. Hear many people complaining about that. My husband and I usually Lay go to smaller places in Cuba and tend to enjoy the, a bit more, but this beach was incredible. Amazing!

Old and lots of bugs

Place needs to be renovated.Buildings dirty water stained on the outside.Old beds a bedding .No hot water at the best of times.Lots of sand fleas on the beach at times and in the lobby area.Guest lobby washrooms are behond dirty with no paper towels.Food was mediocre.Would I return or recommend this hotel? No , pros nice beach and friendly staff.

Grounds and layout of resor very clean and groomed

the lock up system did not work while my girl friends travel bag was broken into and her Blanket, sweater, hat and name plate was stolen. This area requires some serious upgrading. Other than this situation very pleased with the tresort in general.

Couldn't ask for a better resort.

Had an amazing stay at Memories Caribe, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, pool was refreshing and the food was very tasty. I have zero complaints about my stay at this resort. Will definitely refer to friends to try it out.
