Isla Natura Beach: Excellant

Spent one week with another couple and we are all over sixty. Room, staff, food all A1. Yes there are some minor issues, steps down to the beach and no handrail on steps into the pool but unless you have mobile difficulties it shouldn't deter a visit.

Dreams Huatulco: A beautiful resort in a beautiful area

We are 60 years old who have travelled to most of the Caribbean islands and several Central American countries, usually staying in 4 / 5 star all-inclusive resorts. We prefer smaller type resorts with a chance to visit the local area. We have been to this area once before and found the local people basically, polite, friendly and comfortable to be around whether at the resort or in town which is why we went back to the Huatulco area. We found the Dreams Huatulco resort to be one of the better experiences overall we have had at an all-inclusive resort. The meals and drinks were better than we have seen with good selections and no, to little waiting for seating in the restaurant’s or buffet. The resort, grounds and beach were very clean, plenty of seating and as always no matter where we go the early bird gets the best seats but I don’t think there are any bad seats at the Dreams Huatulco. The rooms were comfortable, clean and serviced twice a day which we found a little much, once a day is sufficient for the amount of time we spent in them. If you are people who like to sit by the pool, this resort offers what looked like to us two infinity pool for adults, a family pool and I’m going to call it a shady senior pool with lots of sunny or shady seating around them. With the resort being on the Pacific we found the waves not to be that strong with an optional place for easy access into the water where there was good snorkeling. There were many more items that impressed us with the Dreams Resort but overall the above are the basics we usually look for when choosing a place and a resort to go to. Based on our stay and talking to the many other people we met who were having the same experience as us at the resort we would have no problems recommending this resort and look forward to our return or checking out the other Dreams Resort locations. Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort

Excellent all around.Great staff, amazing grounds, rooms, pools, spa,beach, entertainment,restaurants.Great atmosphere. Great excursion, towns near by.They serve premium drinks, nothing to stress about.

Barcelo Huatulco: Sublime! What you see is what you get.

March 2017 was our 3rd visit to the Barcelo in Huatulco. On each return to this paradise, we have been accompanied by a greater number of friends & family. The superlative weather & location are matched by incredible staff, dining and recreational opportunities. The ambiance created through the warmth, integrity and industrious nature of the Mexican people is THE BEST.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great place

Resort is older but refurbished and very clean. Service was excellent. Food was very good. Great location, close to the airport, town and right on a great beach. Lots of beach activities. We enjoyed our vacation here and would return.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great Resort

My husband and I traveled with our 4 month old and we were very happy with this resort. The grounds were kept very clean and tidy - we constantly saw staff sweeping, trimming bushes, and doing maintenance. One evening after dinner several staff members were hand washing all of the loungers around the pools. The pools - adult only and children's - were both kept clean. The food was way better than I've experienced at any resort. There are 4 a la carte options - Mexican, Spanish, Italian, a [... read more]nd Japanese. There are no limits to the number of a la carte reservations you can make. We tried all of them and really enjoyed them all. The japanese (sushi) was really great and is a tiny place that won't take reservations and is first come first serve. There are two buffet options for breakfast and lunch and then one buffet option for dinner each night. Loads of options for everyone. I'm a vegetarian and found the buffets to be heavily stocked with meat but still found plenty of yummy options for myself. We didn't get in to the theatre for any of the shows that were put on each night because we had the baby with us (and most of our dinners were later) but there was also musical entertainment each evening outside in the pool/courtyard area. By the pool during the day they had lots of organized water sports/games going on. There also seemed to be lots of things for kids like face painting, the kids club, water slides, etc. There wasn't any rainy days so we didn't spend much time inside but there is also a games room with board games, pool table, ping pong, etc. The majority of the staff was really great but there were some that weren't as friendly and gave slower service. It was really either hit or miss and nothing in between. 90% of staff were amazing so it's too bad there was a handful that weren't. Our room was fine - comfortable clean beds, balcony overlooking the pool/beach, fridge stocked daily (we left a tip for the individual who filled our fridge each day with a note of what we wanted in our fridge ie. bottled water, beer, chips, etc), we were given a pack n play for our baby to sleep in, bathroom was fine. We did see some teeny tiny little bugs in the room either crawling on the bathroom wall or on the dresser for instance. Maybe only a handful and they seemed harmless but worth mentioning. We left a tip for the maid as well each day but some days our room was cleaned impeccably and we had towels and flowers shaped liked an animal left in the room and other days it was as if they half cleaned the room then just left without giving us fresh towels or finishing the cleaning job. So again, hit or miss. Overall I'd give the resort an 8 out of 10 and would recommend to others. My family definitely plans to return to Barcelo Huatulco and would likely book 2 weeks next time because 1 week was just to short!

Hotel Castillo Huatulco: a gem in the middle of everything

we decided this year to break away from our usual beach resort vacation. we chose the Hotel Castillo that is in the heart of Santa Cruz. there was everything we would expect or need on our vacation. we took taxis just about everyday to experience new beaches and snorkeling spots. we walked around the town and even up to neighboring Cruciceta. we always felt safe. it was a joy to immerse in the culture. all in all it was a week that i would recommend to anybody.

Secrets Huatulco: very nice resort

resort has everything you need, all very good quality, from food, drinks,rooms, views, service,only bit of downfall is the beach, it is very big, brown sand gets very very hot to walk on. and water in this local always seems to be ruff

Las Brisas Huatulco: Pleasant Resort!

There are a lot of positives about this Pacific Beach Resort. We love to swim in the ocean and the three sheltered beaches enjoyed by this large resort are great for that. An added bonus is the reef / snorkeling which is the focus of one of the beaches. Also there is a pleasant paved walkway connecting all three beaches - the path itself is an interesting journey that meanders with changing vistas of rockface, vegetation and seawall & includes glimpses of exotic birds and sunning iguanas. The [... read more] resort itself is large and sprawling with 2-storey residential groupings sited on rocky hillsides and connected with a network of narrow winding roadways and integrated with treed green areas. There is plenty of opportunity for interesting walks or if you prefer there is a continuous "taxi service" which provides welcome walking relief while titillating with fun rides that are reminiscent of Disney theme parks. The resort is very clean and well kept. Rooms are large with ocean views and upscale bathrooms. Food is a notch above most "all inclusive" resorts we have visited in the past though we thought it was a shame that the main buffet restaurant was closed in and air-conditioned rather than open to the beautiful ocean frontage. We are retired seniors and were very comfortable with the low key pace of this resort but we expect that the lack of lively "night life" would discourage a younger demographic. Overall the staff was friendly and attentive and we were well served throughout our visit. The only sour note was the fact that they are a bit "anal" when it comes to currency exchange. I attempted to change a $20 bill at the front desk and was told that they needed my passport to do that ! (Give me a break! this would have involved about a half return trip to my room - just to make change for a registered guest! The bottom line is I didn't tip that night - a loss for the waiters). The lesson in that is make sure you prepare for your trip by ensuring you have enough low denomination currency in dollars or pesos before you arrive. There are no ABM's on the site and a bank visit requires a short trip to town.

Dreams Huatulco: Great holiday and resort.

We have travelled​ extensively through the Caribbean over many years and we this resort is the cleanest we have ever seen along with excellent service and great food. Highly recommend especially for beach lovers.

Hotel Castillo Huatulco: small but nice

returned for a 2nd visit after 3 years. same well run very easy going great staff. ask for a room on main floor opening up to pool for best experience. food is good the beach club buffet is great. they make fresh nacho chips and pico de gallo every day. very close to town if you want to go out for a nicer dinner than the usual buffet. marina right across the road for excursions and fishing.

Dreams Huatulco: Excellent Resort

Beautiful resort 25 minutes from the airport. Safe, clean and loads of fun. Loved the 24 hour cafe which served all types of coffee, smoothies, teas and pastries. Food was plentiful including a wide variety of drinks. Service was excellent and we received an upgraded room upon arrival. Enjoyed the infinity pools and also spent time relaxing at the adult only pool.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Huatulco - Las Brisas

The strength of this resort are its grounds and beaches which are exceptional. The hotel is laid out as a series of villages strung along a rocky coastline with central services. The service is very good and the food plentiful and favourable. The facilities are not fancy but well kept and transportation around the site is continuous. Sanitation is very good and there are no bugs or other crawly creatures. Lots of tours and family activities are available. Nine out of ten.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Couldn't be better!

What's not to like? Three separate and different beaches, 3 pools and beautifully maintained grounds. Twelve quality tennis courts, squash and pickle ball courts and a fully equipped modern gym. Modern room, balcony with ocean view, flat TV and wifi in the room. Nice buffet restaurant and 5 nice a la cartes. 10 straight days of sunshine and 31 degrees. The resort is built on the side of a cliff so there is no end of stairs. There are a number of golf cart style buggies to transport guests a [... read more]round and they are frequent. Still, this is not a place for people with mobility issues. Tourist mix was 45% Canadian, 45% Mexican nationals and 10% other. We truly enjoyed it and will be back.

Secrets Huatulco: The best of Mexico

This an all adult resort which is something we wanted. The hotel was very clean and staff as friendly as it gets. There are no wrist bands to deal with, no restaurant booking lines, no towel cards to lose, just a great relaxing stay. Rooms are all ocean view stocked with lots of goodies. The food was great, with 7 restaurants to choose from and a buffet. Breakfast can be had in the buffet or the more relaxed atmosphere of the Mexican restaurant. There are plenty of drinks of course, but you can also get the high end alcohol at no extra cost (just ask for it). Great free room service in a timely fashion. This our third time at this resort and we highly recommend it.

Secrets Huatulco: Awesome resort

The room, the food, the drinks and the whole place was great. We have been to many resorts and travelled a lot and this was by far one of the best resorts so far we have been to. But most importantly the service at the hotel was superb. The staff there aim to please and always went above and beyond for us.

Dreams Huatulco: Great resort.

This resort has it all: great beach, pools, rooms,staff and weather. The food is good with no dinning reservations required. Lots of A la carte dining. Not all restaurants were open every day and some of the English translation of the menus was poor, particularly in El Patio. We liked the Asian and Sea Side Grill the best. The buffet was great for breakfast and lunch. Good snorkelling right off the beach. Surf was yellow flag all week. If you use other than pesos or credit card in the shops you  [... read more]need to show a passport which I thought strange. Something about money laundering. We were here in 2010 and as a result our room was upgraded.

Secrets Huatulco: Wonderful resort.

We loved this resort. We booked a swim out suite and thought it was well worth the money. Will do it again. The resort was beautiful and very clean. The pools were beautiful but noticed that most chairs were taken with towels early in the morning. There has got to be some way to regulate that as people drape their towels on the chair and then leave them empty for hours. There was an active pool and a quiet pool which is awesome. Dreams Huatulco: Dreams was beyond our expectations!

From the moment we entered the resort our holiday was destined to be the "best one ever"! Our flight was 3 hours late from Victoria, BC and when we arrived in the evening we were greeted with a welcoming beverage and check-in was quick and efficient. We had a great dinner at the World Café, then explored the resort.. The rooms were so beautiful with our room attendants, Alma and Brenda, making sure everything was perfect; from the different flower petal design on our bed everyday to ensurin [... read more]g we had clean linens, lots of sunscreen and lotion.... I loved the pool volleyball, water aerobics, morning yoga and wild "Zumba"! I'm a swimmer, so the infinity pools so close to the ocean were absolutely a dream come true.....imagine swimming your lengths while watching the sun rise and listening to the ocean breaking on the sand...pinch me....I must be dreaming:) We had the best of both worlds at Dreams; pool for those who don't care for swimming in the salt water and the ocean for those that do... Lots of loungers to spend the lazy days; either on the beach or at the pool. Our weather was clear skies everyday except the last day which was cloudy; still warm though A special thankyou to Misael Boutista Lopez, our beach server, who looked after us so well we named a new drink....."Misael Sunset" after him.....Tequila shot, orange slice and lime slice squeezed in a highball glass The Rendevous Lounge is where our server Edie Acxel Martinez Cruz looked after us so well. Thankyou Edie:) Dreams is definitely one of the best resorts I have ever been to.

Secrets Huatulco: 5 Star resort

We just got back from a week at Secrets Hualtulco!! We had a great vacation, this resort is a 5 Star as is all the Staff that work there, groundskeepers, house keeping all the way up to Management. The Food is Top shelf as well as the Booze!! Do yourself a favour and try this place, you will be glad you did.
