Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort!
This is a beautiful resort, well maintained and very clean. The resort is large and despite where your room is located there is always a pool close by. That being said - Theresa runs a great bar at the Hilltop! The resort also offers a separate pool for families with children away from the main pools which is nice. The only thing this resort could use is more up beat entertainment at night. Thank you to all the staff at St.James Club -Morgan Bay, especially Nathan & Marcia from reception ! The resort was small
It needs some work to raise it's potential
The staff were excellent
The shower stall was small and made it difficult to maneuver
There were no bars to hang your wet bath towels or hand towels
Our room did not have a fridge to keep our water bottles cold
We could not swim in the sea as the waves were too high and a strong rip tide
There was a red flag for 3 out of 5 days

Stolen Time Saint Lucia: Amazing staff---but....
Can not say enough about the staff at the Rendezvous, we met some amazing people, who truly went out of their way to make our holiday a great one. From the check in, which is unique ( no belly up to the front desk here, seated , greeted, and your relaxation starts there ) to every person from the gardener to repair person to the wait staff and all through with a friendly " hi, how are you? enjoying yourself?". We have been to many all inclusive resorts from mid to upper levels and by far, the st[... read more]aff here rate the highest. The food as well, even though the Rendezvous has a limited amount of restaurant's, the food we rank as one of the best. The resort itself is in great condition, and includes 2 pools, one being a pool bar, the other quieter in front of the spa. They have 6 hidden spots for couples to hide out and relax, in front of a pool of running water. (nice touch for peace and quiet). There is a good selection of things to do during the day and almost all is included.
Unfortunately this is where things stop being amazing.
We could see why this is rated as a 4.5 star and not a 5, these things may not be a big deal to everyone, and truly do not make or break a holiday, but should be noted.
The resort is very close to the city of Castries and the airport.
We had a Premium Garden View room on the second floor, these rooms have their entrance to the room facing the city and the entrance to the resort, there is a sliding patio door facing the garden on the other side.. As much as they are clean and fairly well kept, they are small, very small, There is a mini fridge in the room, stocked only with a single decanter bottle of water, nothing else, no other drinks no snacks, not even sure whey the fridge was there. We noted that there was a large amount of city noise from these rooms, woken up at night to car alarms, sirens, beeping cars, at all times of night. Speaking to another couple, they were on the first floor, where there is only an entrance to the room via the sliding door, blocking out the city noise from the other side. Even on the resort, there is somewhere in the area of 10 planes flying over you each day, and in a few locations on the resort ,city sounds and sirens can be heard. It is possible that the higher end rooms were quieter and bigger.
There is a lack of "top shelf" alcohol here, once again giving it a lower rating than a 5 star resort.
Nightly entertainment, is usually a local band, and not much else to do here at night, but relax.
The beach is nothing great, the waters were not clear and while we were there, very ruff the entire week, but the beach and sand were clean. They had plenty of lounges on the beach and at both pools, so finding a spot to lay out was never a problem. ( an advantage to a smaller resort ).
Over all it was a great time there, with minor short comings.

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Awesome resort
St James club Morgan Bay St Lucia was an amazing resort . The staff were wonderful and always ready to help . The rooms were very clean as well were the grounds . There wasn't a very large beach but was clean and the water was worm and that's all that matters . The food was good . The al la carte were ok except for the Morgan Pier . That was very good . The only thing I thought that should have been was a stocked room fridge with at least a couple of beers . You could order drinks from housekeep[... read more]ing but you had to pay for it . Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Great Honeymoon..but Solicaited a lot
We stayed at Sandals Regency La Toc Spa Resort for our honeymoon and spent a little bit extra because it was our honeymoon and you don't honeymoon often...That being said Sandals is just another resort we didn't find it to be anything special the resort itself needs some upgrading as it was kind of worn looking.
The staff worked hard but they weren't the happiest and not always very friendly although they would always say hi in passing. I have never been solicaited so much by resort staff in[... read more] my life. List of things we were asked and asked and asked to come spend our hard earned dollars on
- Staff walking around the pool during the day to ask us to come into the jewelry shop to buy jewelry
- Staff walking about the pool asking if we had talked to anyone about excursions, handing out flyers
- Flyers in our door when we would come back at the end of the day letting us know we could have dinner on the beach for only 199$ USD we are Canadian so with the exchange would have been 300$ roughly
- Staff walking around the pool to see if we wanted to buy a Sandals T shirt to tie die for free but when I asked if I could just do my own T shirt I brought they said no
- The spa girls we a little out of hand writing out receipts and booking 270$ couple massages before we had agreed to even get the massage
- Someone was always selling something by the pool... always
The grounds were always clean we liked that, we dared to go in the hottub and glad we did because it was nice and our bathing suits didn't smell the next day
We were in room 243 the location was amazing very close to everything, the room was nice enough bed is super comfy! We made friends that were staying in 701 we found their room was kind of far as well as the elevator was broken for about 4 days so walking up the hill then up the stairs to the 7th floor may get a little annoying
Food was amazing pretty well everywhere you go the Steaks we my personal favorite and Kimonos was crazy good and entertaining.
Go on the Joe Knows tour and if you can try to get someone to take you to the St Lucian Street Party that happens every Friday night, it was by far the coolest thing we're done on vacation but you have to like to drink and dance! So neat to try the food from the different vendors!
We were disappointed in the lack of night life/entertainment at this resort the stage is so tiny and very rare that anything entertaining was going on there! Piano Bar near the Pitons restaurant was super entertaining and open until 11.
Overall a good vacation just not worth the 2500$ each to be there, could have saved about 1000$ and gone somewhere else.

Rex Papillon: A three dressed up as a nine
A quaint resort, only 110 rooms.
The resort could use some serious improvement the pool deck has lots of ceramic tiles that are slippery when wet, and the surface surrounding it is very uneven.
The rooms are patch work updated with only some tiles renewed
None of the furniture matches but they are clean, and really how much time do you spend in the room?
The bathrooms are also only partly renovated, I think that they replace items on an as needed basis.
The buffet is small, but with a dece[... read more]nt amount of choices and everything is delicious. I recommend travelers bring a decent supply of snack items as there isn't an option on the resort for evening food once the buffet closes.
The grounds are well kept.
The beach is public but we weren't bothered by locals selling items at all.
There was not a lot of area of beach but it was clean and the surf shop staff are helpful with chairs and umbrellas.
Speaking of helpful, the staff at this resort are the absolute best!
We requested crab legs for dinner one day and that evening they provided our group with trays of delicious crab
What the resort lacked in glam, the staff do their utmost for all guests!

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Great resort if you like kite surfing.
I chose this resort for teen activities. They were none. However there were many positives: excellent food, drinks, service very helpful, polite and accommodating, good Wi-Fi in the lobby.
Could use improvement: entertainment, bathrooms had some mold in corners, teen activities.
Overall very good resort.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Great Resort
With Sandals the food the room and personnel service and spas is always great you can go wrong , done 8 of them and it the same thing. You get for what you paid.
La Toc on the 25 Dec 2016 for 7 days, Beach is missing a lot of sand due to the high waves and red flags nobody swing unless you are a very skill swimmer other wise is dangerous the under toe and the height of the waves. The only activity there was the pool and Sun. Most people and staff we talk said the sea is often rough the ho[... read more]tel staff told me they have to rebuild the beach with backhoe and sand truck when the sea calm down at time.
Toke the complimentary shuttle to the Grande everyday at 11 Am and return on 4 PM where the beach is very nice and swimmable . The trip take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. The wind come differently and for some reason it rain less then the Toc where the wind is directly on you.
Christmas and New years party at the toc was great and the food and dessert is awesome but bring your ear plugs because the musique is so loud you can't stay close to the band you could feel on you and in the room 75' away the pressure of the base speaker. They think we the tourism our deaf or hard earring.
If your budget is less and you are a pool person then the Toc is your choice. If you love the sea and beach ? you have two choice : pay more money and go to the Grand or Go to the Toc and use the complement shuttle to the Grand everyday.
For the other sandals in St-Lucia Halcyon it is smaller and the sea is a bit better than the Toc but also rough sea but never like the Grand in Rodney Bay where the beach the views the sea is awesome.

Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton: SOLID RESORT
A very good hotel but very slow service keeps this hotel far from being excellent. Hotel needs special training in keeping guests updated on services on a continual basis. After a major complaint on communication at the outset of our stay, staff did improve but only slightly. As a country were tourism is paramount St. Lucia is still falls short on providing excellent service.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Awesome week
We arrived and even though it rained a bit, we had a great time.
Resort is clean and staff are extremely friendly.
The ride to the resort wasn't as bad as some people say... it was nice to see a bit of the country, it's gorgeous!
It's the best holiday my husband and I have EVER had, and we went to Sandals Ochi in March, but this one was even better.
Thank you to the Sandals La Toc staff for making the week a paradise for us.

Anse Chastanet: Unique, excellent resort
Anse Chastenet is a gem in every regard. I credit the staff first and foremost. They made it easy to enjoy the amazing physical beauty, views of the Pitons from our room 6b, 5 star meals, Treehouse restaurant overlooking the forest canopy, stunning beaches and healthy reef right off the beaches.
The resort is built up the side of Jade mountain. This can be a long steep climb to your room which we stubbornly insisted on climbing even though shuttles are available from all points of the resort. [... read more]Our calf muscles seized up day 1 but were in fine shape the rest of the week (65 year old calf muscles). We were apprehensive about no AC in the room but found it very comfortable and it would be sacrilege to close up the room and miss the jungle symphony at night. Room 6b is an octagon with outstanding views of the Pitons from windows and the wrap around verandah. Granted, the bathroom gets a tad crowded with 2 people in it but we managed just fine. Maybe the next reno will open it up a bit.
All restaurants were a treat, fresh fish, lamb, vegetarian, Indian fusion and beach bar foods hit the mark every time. We were lucky to have lunch at the Jade Mountain Resort as well. Do it if at all possible. It's only a little farther up the mountain to it's peak!
I also wondered about weather when considering Anse Chastenet in December. Locals said the rainy season was hanging around longer this year. The result was torrential cloud bursts at night and beautiful 29C sunny days with occasional brief sun showers and the most incredible rainbows.
As I said, staff were incredible. Unobtrusive, welcoming and dedicated to making it all work seamlessly.
We are lazy vacationers (if you exclude running, snorkelling, kayaking) but there are lots of trips and excursions available in the vicinity, volcano mud bath, Piton climb, Jazzy sunset cruise.
And the nightly music was very good.
Shout out to Jungle, the water taxi captain and Melvin the dancing bartender. I wish I had written names down because so many people made our vacation wonderful.
We were on the AI plan which I would recommend.

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Better than expected resort
We booked a 7-day all-inclusive package to St. James Club in St. Lucia. It is a very beautiful resort built on hills by sea so we can enjoy beach, sea, as well as tropical plants and hills. The services provided by the resort were not just good, but should be recognized as excellent. The staff are all friendly and helpful. They let travelers like us to feel like in home. Sandals Grande St Lucian: Most excellent resort
This is probably the best resort i've ever stayed in. The grounds were immaculate, the restaurants were all good (and we did them all!), the rooms were a little dated but there was lots of rooms being redone so i would imagine anyone going there now will have a newly decorated room and the view was amazing (we had an oceanview).
