Average Resort overal

The room and the grounds were very nice. Friendly staff. The food selection and quality would be at the bottom favorite of all the resorts (8) we visited in Cuba. We could not change our beach towels as that section was always closed. The bus to the market that is supposed to be at every half hour after 09:30 never showed up. We waited for 1:30 hours for it and we gave up. The bars were very good. Store at the resort is a big joke. One shelf against a wall in the lobby. Amazing Resort! Staff was amazing people incredibly Awesome!

No complaints would go again and again! Very friendly the service was great! Good food and great service. The best beach ever! 3 pools! Great entertainment every night. Cuban people are totally awesome!

Very good resort

Very nice place...great atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Food was good. Pools were fun. Entertainment was good. Rooms were nice. Easy to get around the resort. Catamaran excursion was worth the price. Beach was nice.

Beautifully awesome resort!

The nicest resort I've been to in Cuba of my four times there. The staff was so kind and helpful and the beaches were mind blowing. A very large resort, so the walking was great. Paths were clean of debris and groomed well to say nothing of the landscaping....breathtaking! The nightly entertainment, food, maid service was wonderful and the disco was a blast.... I hope to go back again one day. Thanks so much for having me...it really was a soothing vacation I needed.

Loved the beach!!!

We had a great time this last week. The service was slow at times at the lobby bar but other venues great. The place was clean and the beach was beautiful!!! The food was good. Found something on the buffet always and the A large carts were decent. The shows were great excepecially the Michael Jackson night!!! Our rooms were stocked and cleaned daily!! Would deffinatly stay there again

Not impressed

The hotel looked very clean; except for all public bathrooms. They were unbelievably dirty. Bedoing was never changed all week, we did get new towels ever day, but half the time they were full of holes. Food...let's not go there. The staff where wonderful, always pleasant and smiling. The trail to the beach was interesting. The beach itself they never clean it and there are lounge chairs everywhere. Solid 4.5!

Beautiful new resort with lots of variety! We were in the building close to the relaxation pool which was perfect. The beach was beautiful, excellent snorkeling by the rocky section just west of the hotel beach. Food is decent for Cuba, try the Spanish restaurant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants relaxation and sunshine.

Valentin-Cayo Santa Maria

Was there week of Jan 29th..had issues with hotel and room but was resolved next day...beach and pools are definitely 5 star .. two pools.. One activity, and one relaxing.. a la carte's and buffet are both hit and miss....its Cuba!!!

Vacation time in Cuba Valentin Perla Blanca

We had a great time the beach was very nice the motel is ok and the staff are awesome. The only draw back is the food not a lot of different and no gluten free section it was not hot unless you got something cook . We did manage to eat something was a little disappointed about the buffet. The restaurant a la carte was good did 3 restaurant.

Beautiful, picturesque - but not perfect.

This review had many, many positives. A variety of activities (a relaxing section, and a rowdy section - fun entertainment), great staff who we're dedicated to making you feel at home, a great selection of drinks, and most importantly, one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The only criticisms I have about Valentin are the beds (which are rock hard) and the food (I am a vegetarian and I don't feel there were enough options, and the overall quality of food was not great). Great time at Valentin

Overall everything was great and we were impressed with the resort overall. The service was the only thing we weren't thrilled with. It felt like they were always short staffed. But had a great time regaurdless! We would go back for sure.

Not so Perla after all

Beach is great however drinks at the beach no good at all. Food was ok, Service slow; avoid Snackbars unless you don't mind waiting an hour just to get a burger. Washrooms throughout the site dirty and not well kept. No beach towel change for a week and days without fresh towels in room. Rooms near pool really noisy from 9AM until 6PM. Cute walkway to the beach, Nice tennis courts with friendly trainer. drinks at the main bar lobby not so good too, try smaller bar next to Privilege lounge tha [... read more]t offers best drinks with friendly staff. Bring Can.or US $$ or get Pesos from the airport since line up at the bank lobby will take you many hours for exchange of currency. Also book VIP lounge package at the airport for the return...worth the price. will not return to this resort.

Save your Money and go elsewhere!

Pro:. - The food was surprisingly decent, and the beach was very nice. - beautiful weather - We played tennis a lot, and the coach was pretty good. Cons: - The room service was pretty bad. sometimes, they were knocking on our door at 4 pm while we were asleep. No water bottles given to refill our fridge , no clean towels (We literally had to ask). - A lot of Noise every afternoon, since our room was near the main pool. (Although we paid for an ocean front room), the main pool is pretty  [... read more]much at the center of the complex.... - The snack bar near the pool was extremely slow to serve the food. we had to wait one hour sometimes....(Really)... to receive our order. This is unacceptable. - Most of the lounge chairs around the pool and the beach are broken/Damaged. Good luck for your back guys... - Most of the time during our stay, we couldn't get a clean towel at the pool. - No WiFi/internet in the room. You can have internet access in the main lobby, and you need to pay 2 pesos for one hour....yep - To change our Canadian dollars into Pesos is a nightmare (the bank at the lobby was not available all the time.) - No toilet papers, no hand soap in the toilets............Really...... In resume, we enjoy our stay in this hotel as much as we could my girlfriend and I....We will never come back. Sometimes it is better to pay a bit more and enjoy your vacations. It is totally worth it

Excellent Vacation !!!

This hotel is very nice.. The rooms are clean and modern housekeeping is excellent.. The pools are spotless and the water shimmers, it's a little on the cool side but you soon get accustomed to it . After all it is their Winter season.. We only went to the Italian ala carte but it was excellent the waiter Michel was so funny.. Only drawback in my opinion is too far from the airport (2 hours).. I give it 4 1/2 stars..... PS amazing beach!!!!!

Amazing resort

The resort is quite new (2yrs old) and in perfect shape. The grounds are well maintained on a daily basis by a large number of gardeners. The buildings are easily accessible and low build. The rooms are very spacious with a huge bathroom and walk in shower. Plenty of room. I appreciated the private safe. All rooms have ocean view because of the way the buildings are situated. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food offered daily: it was plenty no matter what time of service, breakfas [... read more]t, lunch or diner. Too much to choose from and well prepared. They do need more toasters, there was a line up sometimes.A wide variety of A La Carte restaurants from French to Italian or Seafood. Plenty to choose from. Book as soon as you arrive though, space is limited. The bars are well situated on the property and the service is friendly and quick. The pools and lounge chairs are plenty and well maintained and clean. Variety of activities around the pool and at the beach. Beach is clean. Evening shows were really good, something for everyone. We certainly recommend booking the tour to Havana (by bus or plane), it was worth it. Internet available only in the lobby and payable (2 pesos/hour). We enjoyed a massage in open air, definitely a must do (charged separately).

Great resort

Very nice resort, the food was good compared to other resorts in Cuba surprisingly. The room was clean and nicely done. The beach was beautiful and clean. The entertainment was great especially at the party pool . Remember to bring bug spray , mosquito bites are plentiful and makes sleeping very uncomfortable. All in all I would return to this resort, very good value.

Very good resort!

As soon as you arrive a beautiful ocean view! Everything very clean! A few equipment did not work upon arrival but it was fixed (slow_ nothing immediately but fixed). The American LA Carter restaurants were amazing! Specially the French and Spanish! All employees were polite, serving and spoke good English! The beach? Breath taking!!!! We strongly recommend!!!

Great beach and modern hotel !

We requested the room away from pool..... they offer us a room facing pool! It took full day and visits to four different rooms to find what is OK ! PR staff helped resolved the issue Food was great; staff superb

Good Hotel for the price

One of the few negatives was that it was a 2 hour bus ride from the airport to the hotel. the hotel itself was nice, well maintained, however it is huge, there was an entire part of the resort that we didnt know about until half way through the week. the pool and beach were beautiful. the Michael Jackson show at night was fantastic - the guy really looked like a younger MJ. Beautiful Resort

The hotel was beautiful. It was clean, the pool area was fantastic with swim up bar, lounging areas in the middle of the pool accessed by a bridge. The beach was great with white sand and also rugged in some parts. The entertainment at night was very good with music at the Lobby bar. The people were very friendly and helpful. The only negative was the food was very average. we were expecting mosquito problems , however there was no issue.
