Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Overall awesome resort

My partner and I vacationed here for my birthday for the week. When we first arrived we were told we would get a room closer to the beach from our travel agent but when we arrived we were booked into a room right by the lobby. Not much we could do so we went to the lobby bar before heading to our room. On our way to collect our luggage the desk concierge came us and asked us if we had been there yet and as we had not he had told us that he switched our room for us, closer to the beach. When we a [... read more]rrived in our room it was nice, smelt a little musty but whatever. The Jacuzzi in our room however was not clean so we didn't use it. Our room overall was decent. Hot water and air conditioning was working :) We had no problems with getting new towels or our fridge being restocked. Our first morning there we were woken up with a call to our room at 7am..not impressed and 2 more every half an hour after that. Them wanting to give us a free hour massage for the trouble the day prior was the excuse. Of course it was a timeshare tour. So beware (they wear all white). I wasn't happy about that as it was almost 5 hours long and even though we kept saying no they kept pushing it. In the end we only ended up with a half hour massage so I was even more pissed. Normally you get more then that out of a timeshare tour. So half my day wasted. The resort is beautiful, it is large. I don't mind walking though so it didn't bother me. The grounds are extremely clean, they do an amazing job. The food....YUUMM!! We didn't visit the buffet to many times but it was pretty good when we did; breakfast and lunch. The snack bar was delicious. Just the right type of food for when your feeling just a little hungry. The a la cartes..wow! Amazing! We did have a little problem at one on my birthday dinner night. She forgot our apps and my partner had asked her to sing happy birthday to me but she never even bothered coming back after forgetting the appetizers. So that sucked. I mean it was my birthday. But overall great food. Service at the restaurants..awesome. Service at the bars everywhere other than the lobby was great. The lobby bar we stood there for 10 mins sometimes and they would serve others around us when we were clearly there first. Even sitting at the bar with empty drinks for awhile it happened. The pool was okay. A bit cold for water temperature but at least it was big so if it got busy it wasn't too crowded. The beach was fair. The bar was pretty far away and there were a lot of vendors. We didn't get bothered too much by them though. The water was nice once you got used to it after 2 mins and as long as you get to the beach before noon lots of chairs to choose from. Overall we had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this resort. I can't say anything was awful. Would book here again.

Melia Braco Village: Fantastic resort !!!!

This was our third time visiting this resort. A fantastic gem !! The staff and service are amazing. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel relaxed and at home . We will continue to return again and again.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great resort

We had a wonderful vacation at Paradisus Punta Cana, due largely to Argenis, who did a superb job of making sure that all of our wants were fulfilled at the pool. Drinks, towels, snacks and even lunch were delivered right to our decadent cabana bed. Argenis made sure that we wanted for nothing. Jose Durand and Yuleidi Rosa provided friendly service in The Gabi restaurant. We appreciated the cleanliness of all spaces, beautiful gardens and ponds. The flamingos and porch swings in the lobby w [... read more]ere a nice touch. We had almost flawless meals in all the restaurants we tried. Our bed and pillows were comfortable and we love the oversized fluffy towels. Attention to small details throughout made us feel welcome.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort and Fantastic Staff. Would recommend it.

I recently returned from a stay at the Melia Caribe Punta Cana. The Melia is a huge resort that offers many options to its guests. I chose to stay in the area closest to the beach and the pools. This gave me access to the many activities that are provided for guests. Also, the Merkado Restaurant is located right beside the pool. There are many positives to this Resort so I will start with the Restaurants. The Merkado offers International Buffet for all three meals plus snacks in between des [... read more]ignated meal times. The restaurant is well run with highly efficient, pleasant staff and is immaculate. The washroom adjoining the resturant is always spotless which is incredible considering the traffic that goes through there each day. The Casa Nostra Restaurant offers delicious Italian cuisine and extremely efficient service. Certainly worthwhile visiting. Although I didn't have an opportunity to go to Muoi, I heard from several people that it was great. Overall, I found the Resort extremely well kept. Everything was very clean and maintenance staff were constantly making sure the pool area and the beach area along with all the buildings were clean and safe. The cleaning staff for the rooms was excellent, pleasant and helpful with any questions. I had a minor problem with my air conditioner when I first arrived and a maintenance man was at my room within five minutes to resolve the problem. The Activities Staff are superb. I had the pleasure of having Wascar Perez as the instructor for aqua fit and zumba classes. Also, Wascar shows no end of patience while teaching the daily dance lessons and works well with Jaimie Manzuela in demonstrating and encouraging guests to learn or participate in Yoga classes. These are both wonderful young men who are so respectful to their guests. The level of talent in the dance troupe is unbelievable (there is so much local talent and I regret I don't remember all of the names of the dancers). The nightly shows should not be missed. The Artistic Director and Manager of Activities should be congratulated on both the variety and creativity in their choice of shows. Overall, although the grounds are well maintained and the Resort is extremely well run, it is the staff who really makes this a great place to spend a vacation.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: and it is indeed an amazing resort - in more ways than one - we would give it an A+ for everything except shade. As my husband has had a few melanomas and has been advised not to sit in the sun, it was very difficult to find shady spot on either the lower beach or the pool area- there are many palm trees but they are very tall and do not provide much shade, maybe some more palapas.

We found everything about the grounds interesting and so clean; it was great to be able to just sit on a bench in the lush gardens between the trees and watch the birds fly by, see the turtles among the gold fish, enjoy the various flowers. The pool was so clean at all times. The service from the staff was excellent, always very friendly and accommodating . The food was plentiful and well prepared, the a la carte restaurants had varied menus, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were p [... read more]lentiful. The room was more than adequate with a great view. The nightly entertainment was enjoyable and very professional. Due to health problems, this was our first southern trip in a few years and it was a very happy experience - we hopefully will return soon.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Wonderful resort

The resort is beautiful. We were in building 7, second floor, which is what I had mention Carol to ask for. It was a short walk to the pools and beach but about 7 minutes walk up to the restaurants, we walked up but the golf cart drivers would ask if we wanted a ride. The staff were very helpful and always smiling. The room was great always made up, left coffee and the fridge always stock. Food was great. We like having breakfast at the level adults only A La cart, great service and always [... read more] with a smile. They were always out cleaning the pool and the grounds. The only think was there was a lot of seaweed in the water and on the beach but they were outraking the beach every morning.

Paradisus Cancun: Great Resort for a Family Vacation

We travelled as a group of 10, 6 adults and 4 children. This resort was great and appealed to all age groups. The kids really enjoyed the kids club and activities plus it gave them a break from the sun during the hottest hours of the day. The most fun was when they brought out a huge inflatable water slide! What stands out to me most about the Paradisus Cancun is the service. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the pool service was constant, we were truly spoiled. I did find a huge dead cockroach in my room one night but I didn't see any others during my stay. I thought the food was average although some of our group loved it, the drinks were delicious, try a shot called 'mini beer', yum! The rooms were spacious enough although a little dated but the cleanliness made up for that. The beach was gorgeous and the pool was enormous, we loved both. The resort itself is really confusing as to which elevator to take to get where you need to go. It's divided in the middle so you can't get through. In short, I would recommend this resort as long as your expectations are realistic for a 4.5 star resort.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Excellent place for families with very young children!

Highly recommend for families with very young children. Our boys (1yr and 2yr) enjoyed clean rooms, wide and sandy beach, great splash with pools for small children of various ages, kids club (also for toddlers) good food, nice landscaping. We stayed at the family beach apartment, so it was 1 minute walk to all relevant facilities, except for dinner restaurants, which we didn't really have to use as the nearby buffer (mercado) also served dinners.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Paradisus Punta Cana Group Getaway

Found this property very big but quite nice. The walking was hard for some as the huge cobblestones made it uneven so the hips took a beating and anyone with leg problems would find it difficult. However they do have a trolley that goes around quite often which some of us took advantage of specially from lobby area back to buffet or pool area. The two buffets were side by side which seemed different and very, very small for such a big resort . Plus they both basically had same thing in the [... read more]m each day for food. Myself personally only got to one a la carte...The Grill. Rib eye steak would have fed both my husband and myself. It was huge. Some others in the group went to the Japanese and one of the others, so they will speak to those I am sure. Overall food wasn't bad but didn't find enough variety I guess. We seem to be hit and miss on the pasta station which is a usual go to for us. Pool was nice , beach was nice but red flag was up last few days as it was pretty windy and rough. Entertainment was good....I didn't go to see any theater shows as they usually all seem the same to me after awhile....word had it that Michael Jackson was extremely good though. They had the silent dance party with headphones for the first time at that resort while we were there. It was great fun. We have experienced this before and always loved it at other resorts. Of course the anticipated foam party is always a hit as well. Beach Party was great and the disco we took in one night on the beach. our last evening they had a violinist and she was really good...we really enjoyed her talents. Oscar was one of the first entertainment people we had met. Some of our great servers at Gabi Beach were Yuletide, Bethania, Tavares and Christiano. At the North Bar Lobby was Yesica Perez. not to leave out the most important was Willis and Argenis at the pool bar. All the people were great that worked there though. We had changed rooms actually after a couple of days as we were having trouble in first room with hot water for showering. But the bell boys were super helpful in taking our luggage and helping carry our clothes on hangers to hold on the trolley and change rooms. We were a party of 6 in our group but met friends that consisted of 8 then 2 more in that group showed up before we left . Plus we met a couple that is local to us and made a new friendship that we can carry on with hopefully. All in all it was not a bad resort but not sure if I will go there again anytime soon.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Almost a 5+ Star

Paradisus Punta Cana is a lovely resort. The grounds and services are best on the island (been to DR 14 times). I have stayed at this resort 9 times over the years and watched the renovations and upgrades improve this resort greatly. However, the food has consistently gone downhill. The buffet is smaller, less options and and the restaurants just passable. The food service by the pool is excellent and menu items there are not found anywhere else so a must do.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana Feb 2019

Overall the hotel was good with no major deficiencies. Grounds of the hotel were well maintained as was the pool area. The beach was large with ample lounge chairs and cover. Rooms were dated and average but clean and the bed was comfortable. Food was fine, we like the choice of “a al carte” restaurants for dinner as break from the buffets for breakfast and lunch. Melia Braco Village: Quiet Resort

Unfortunately our vacation started on a very sour note with Sunwing delaying our flight from 9am until 4:30pm. When I originally booked the trip flight departure was 6am and return was 9:40pm, this changed two days after I booked our package with Tripcentral. Flight delay was due to "mechanical or technical" issues with the plane, which I find very hard to believe. I was very disappointed with the poor compensation from Sunwing for this delay. As for the resort, we have been to Jamaica 6-7 times, never to this resort. I enjoyed that it is very quiet. The layout and gardens of this resort is absolutely amazing. Rooms were ok, first given a room with two doubles and thankfully they were able to move us the following day to a room with a king. We had no problems with hot water which I was very happy about after reading previous reviews. Beach is rocky in parts, did bring water shoes but just ended up swimming in areas that we were ok without them. Food was good, enjoyed the Japanese restaurant and the steakhouse. Great service at both spots. Lunch we did the buffet and grill a few times both were fine. Ordered room service twice, nice to have the option as we had such a late arrival our first day there. Service was great at the bars as well. Do feel the drinks are watered down however we usually had wine in the evenings and felt it was good. Was very windy a few days, disappointed could not do any water sports. Overall resort is nice, enjoyed that it was quiet but again feel it was hard to enjoy it to its fullest due to the negative start by Sunwing.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Great resort

Excellent Food, clean resort, Beach was nice with crystal clear water and very few waves even on windy days. Pools were beautiful and service was great at bars and restaurants, you had to ask for most things like drinks or ketchup etc. but once asked for it came promptly. There are a few parts of resort that are showing some age but over all a great experience.

Melia Braco Village: Beautiful Resort

Awesome resort! The staff is friendly and always making sure you have want you want and need. Food is great with 24/7 room service available! WiFi works great around the entirety of the resort. Beach is nice however I would recommend water shoes when swimming as there are some rough spots in the water.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe Beach - Punta Cana February 2019

Just spent a week at the Melia Caribe Beach in Punta Cana. Chose the resort because it included free golf. Resort is big but lots of golf carts to shuttle around the site. Great food, beach and pools.

Melia Braco Village: Beautiful

The resort was beautiful the food was delicious and the staff was excellent. Only a couple of things. The shower would just go hot and when we showed up they did not have our reservation. Also they did not offer a place for people who were departing a place to shower and get ready. I have never been to a resort that didn’t have that as an option.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

I loved most of everything about this resort...Except...The main complaint by a lot of guests was the alcohool...We all agreed that it was either watered down or way below par...When we asked for name brand alcohool we were told we had to settle for the cheap brands...Just horrible...

Paradisus Punta Cana: Lovely resort and staff are wonderful

This is our fourth time at the resort, it is lovely, really lush and well lloked after. The staff are friendly and really helpful and there is a lovely spa onsite too. We had the most wonderful massages.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Too large and not consistent with service

Start with the positives: beautiful grounds, very clean, food quite tasty, large beach, and nice bartenders. Negatives: checking in at 10:30 pm took almost an hour and a half and we were the only ones there ( 6 in our group) that is one of the reason I wanted to fly in the pm rooms should have been ready, resort too large for us, were refused ala cartes they said they were all booked, but they weren’t, when our friends arrived the next day they had no problem booking the ala cartes ( fig [... read more]ure that out)only 2 buffets for such a huge resort, also one or the other was closed a closed a couple of nights because of large bookings so sometimes had to wait ( not impressed)reported to air transat rep the front desk had know knowledge we were coming he said he would take care of it and they didn’t even know we were even there when we checked out. First day no room cleaned, had to ask, no turn down service at all, no chocolates, no rum in our room asked 3 times (our 6 friends that arrived the next day and received it). Was refused once by the trolly for a drive to the lobby he said to me it was only a 2 minute walk and drove away. It was no 5 star too us, not enough chairs by the pool, a lot of chairs at the beach should be chucked out

Melia Braco Village: Amazing Staff, Amazing Hotel

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel and it's staff. The property is beautiful and the oceanfront rooms are really oceanfront. Sitting on the balcony was like watching a movie. It was so peaceful The food and service were superb and all the extra perks with the level are well worth staying there. We unfortunately had to leave a few days early to return home. The staff spent all morning on the phone trying to get us a flight and a ride to the airport.. Without all their h [... read more]elp, the situation would have been a lot harder to deal with. I can highly recommend staying at this beautiful place.
