Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: We where very happy with our stay at the Grand Bahia Principe.

Very nice resort, clean & plenty of entertainment. The Grand Bahia side has more to offer than the Luxury side. Not worth spending the extra money. Good food. The employees are amazing. If you like long walks on the beach this one is beautiful but short lived, & about shoulder deep, very rocky. Has a private nude beach, great for snorkelling, lots of reefs.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort !!

This resort was well kept, all the staff were super friendly and always trying to make the best out of your stay, there was different activities going on each day. I Definitely recommend this resort and will be returning

Pros Beach is amazing but busy Food is fresh and lots of variety Transportation is great Lots of pool choices Rooms were clean (golden club) Cons If you like lots of people this is for you. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good Resort

Had a good time here. I found that the positives were that the rooms were nice and there were no problems with the maid service. The food at the buffets was good as well, had no problem getting things that I liked. Had 3 a la cartes, Japanese, Italian, and Garden Grill. Food was good at all 3, but the service at the Garden Grill was not great. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and the trolley system was great. Another positive was that we were checked in on our bus from the airport and we were taken directly to our rooms when we got there, saved us a lot of time. A couple of negatives were that the beach was very crowded and the sand fleas at the beach and mosquitos when we were outside at the lobbies were horrendous. Most people in our group were covered in bites and we saw many others on the resort covered in bites. Not sure if they do any spraying here, but they should consider it for sure.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful Vacation!

This was our first time to an adult-only resort and we loved it! We enjoyed the quieter less chaotic buffet restaurant (although service was inconsistent) as well as the lobby bar and lounge areas. The pools were also much quieter with the majority of people resting and reading. If we wanted more activity and energy, we hopped on the shuttle and visited the other three sister resorts to check out their evening entertainment. We skipped the Sian Ka'an private beach section and instead, took a second shuttle from the Akumal lobby to the infinity pool and adult only section at the far end of the beach. Excellent outdoor restaurant and bar service there as well. Nice lagoon to wade in or do a bit of basic snorkeling. Infinity pool was too cold but we prefer the beach and ocean anyways. Next time, we may not stay at Sian Ka'an and instead stay at in the adult-only building on the Akumal side and go over and enjoy the buffet at Sian Ka'an. The rooms featured on the hotel website look newer and nicer ie. double sinks. We weren't that impressed with the room decor for a 4.5-5 star hotel ie. tired looking couch, small bathroom and dreary colours. We had a penthouse suite and enjoyed the upper deck and tub although it's too hot to use it during the day. It also provided more privacy than the lower terraces.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Awesome resort!

This was our second time being at this resort and we love it!! We had a one bedroom suite which was fantastic! Clean, very spacious, two bathrooms and two balconies. The food is great and the people working hard here even better! We even met workers from three years ago and re-established bonds with them. What we loved about it is it's a quiet resort with its own beach. Never had to fight for a chair on the beach.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Good value for the price

This was a great hotel for a nice little getaway. Great crowd with a nice mix of younger and older folks, singles and couples. The karaoke bar was a blast! The beach was not all that nice (a little rocky), but I was just fine lounging by the pool. Rooms were decent and service was good. Overall, a great time!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Just okay resort

We had recently stayed at the GBP Punta Cana resort in the DR March 18th to the 25th 2017. The check in was actually on the bus to the resort so no line ups at the desk so this was great. The resort is very large but easy to navigate. The food was good with a great variety to choose from in the buffets and the Japanese was great. The room service was a little slow and at all times of the day! The beach space for our resort was very crowded and hard to walk around all the many loungers. The lobby bars were way to busy to get a drink unless you were tipping big or a pretty girl which I was neither! There was a lack of entertainment in the lobby's and common areas but the constant pool music was going if that was your hang out. Almost forgot the massive number of insect bites everyone received at night in the lobby's. They need some more insect control there for sure. The mini bar was always out of beer, 2 per day and they were of the mini type! We paid one of the guys who drove our bags to the room $10 us to get us some more as he said he could and he never showed up again( Edgar). I would give this resort 2.5 out of 5 stars. If you want a huge resort that's very busy and impersonal this is for you. I think we will opt for a smaller resort with a more personal touch were they will remember your the customer. We don't need the royal treatment but I think it's impossible to service that many people effectively and without being overwhelm. Thank you.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Fantastic resort

The grounds were beautifully manicured and the staff were available and friendly. The room had a king size bed with nice decor and a spa-like bathroom. The pools were alot of fun with bouncey castles for the kids and the beach fabulous!

Upon arrival we requested a closer room as they had us at the furthest point of the resort. They told us to come back the next day at 12 00 pm to see if the manager could do anything for us. I don't understand why they couldn't help us when we booked in at 1030. PM. Also the drive to the resort took over one hour and 45 mins to get there. It didn't say that upon booking our trip. For the first four days in a row our toilet was over flowing every time you used it. Can you imagine standing in you [... read more]r own urine and the toilet over flowing. At the same time our bath tub was backing up leaving horrible debri in the tub. Making it impossible to shower. We call six times in four days. They would show up with a plunger . clear toilet only to leave and go to use it again and it would over flow again .I'm sure you can see how frustrating it became. No apologies from the front desk. Seemed to be quiet a language barrier. Sand flee bits I am covered in them. Over a hundred bits. Terrible!!!!! Upon inquiring about golf when we were booking with you we punched in golf as a priority. When we went to book some tee off times. We were told there in no golf courses that we could play at. The representitive did call a coarse that was private. He informed us we couldn't play there because it was private. However I insisted he call and inquire. When he called they said we could play but it would cost 295.00 USD EACH PLUS 60.00 USD to rent a cart. Converting this to Canadian dollars it would have cost us around 1000.00 to play one round. Rediculous! !!! Upon checking out not even a thank you. The clerk handed us a piece of paper and pointed to a porter to give the paper to. We have been travelling to the Carribian and Dominican Punta Cana for over 30 years. It's not that we are not aware of some inconviences but this really left a bad taste for us. We filled out a survey from the Hotel customer service manager. Thanking us and an appolige then saying we hope to seeing you again soon. Come on people no explanations for poor service and putting up with all the inconveniences we experienced. What's that all about. In closing for the passed ten years we have taken two trips in a calendar year. We will be seriously thinking about staying in our own country and make the best of the winter time. I'm disappointed about even thinking about it however I would not want to experience another poor trip to a resort that lacks the service level that should be a priority.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Third time at Si'an Kaan

This was our third visit to the Luxury Bahia Principe Sian Kaan and we were a little disappointed. The level of attention to detail we had grown accustomed to in prior visits, was not quite the same. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and they did nothing to help us celebrate-in fact, my husband paid the waiter to decorate our dinner table with rose petals. One morning we took the trolley to the Sian Kaan beach and the driver dropped us off at the Akumal lobby and told us to walk the rest of the way. The next day the same driver hit a speed bump so hard the lady in the first section lost her bag off the cart and hit her head! The crash was so loud we thought the second cart had come unhitched! Thankfully he stopped and everyone was ok and the lady got off herself to retrieve her bag. We only got to 3 different a la cart restaurants as one was closed due to unforeseen circumstances and we couldn't make the time given for the reservation they offered in it's place, and we lost another because the reservation desk booked 2 for the same date and we didn't notice until dinner time! We are not ones to make a fuss and we never complained at the time but I was looking forward to sharing my feedback with the Front Desk Manager as we checked out (especially since we were the only ones at the desk at the time and wouldn't be over heard by other guests or hold up the line for service)- but the manager never even asked if we enjoyed our stay!! Like I said, it is a great resort and has lots to offer and if we hadn't of had such great service prior to this we probably wouldn't have known the difference but it was disappointing to be celebrating such a milestone in our marriage and it not even be acknowledged! We had been contemplating joining the premier club until this visit, we've put that decision on hold for now. Perhaps a visit back to the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar will restore our faith- we've always had great experiences there.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Absolutely Incredible Resort!!!

This accommodation has it all!! The beaches, the pool, the food, the service, hard to beat anywhere you go. We will go back in a heartbeat. The only negative i have is the entertainment at night ended to early. If your thinking of going to this resort you will not be disappointed!!!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Exceeded all expectations

We were very pleased to find a resort that accomodated a wide range of interests and she groups. We enjoyed the the night life in "the street" after 11 and the option of lots of activity around the main pool or quite serenity at a more private beach on on the beach. Great food options as well. We dined at all three speciality restaurants. Our advice is to book an early setting as you can enjoy the beach view and prompt service. The buffet also did not disappoint. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful Quiet Resort

We just got back from a very nice, relaxing vacation. Food and service were good, facilities were very very clean. Room was clean, fridge stocked nothing missing. The beach is very nice but as most other comments the water is not crystal clear, which is not very inviting... so if you like to swim in ocean this may not be the ideal place for you. The ambiance is cool, one pool for activities and the other for relaxing. It's unfortunate because we had dinner reservations for 9.30 and it would have been nice to have time for a night cap before bed. maybe midnight would be better.. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Fantastic resort!

The hotel was fabulous. Very large but they have a trolley train which was convenient. Food was amazing! Everything from the grounds, rooms, beach and food were top notch. I would come back to this resort in a heart beat!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Beach looks like dirty lake water

If the beach was nicer I would rate this hotel a 4 star. Very family friendly, wonderful staff, something for everyone at the buffet, clean suites. However, it's a shame they've set up that ugly wall of wave breakers.. looks like a bunch of dead whales along the beach. The ocean water is beautiful and blue in the distance and as soon as it reaches that man made wall the water turns brown. Lots of sand fleas too, we itched our ankles all week.

This Resort has everything a family on vacation needs! There are things however which could be improved: - room safe should be free of charge as it is almost everywhere else the case - Wifi should be free and hotelwide. This is basically standard these days. - cosmetics (shampoo/ shower gel) should be refilled on a regular basis

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Starter Resort

Grand Bahia Principe San Juan is a secluded resort with a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. I spent a week there. I think this resort is great for first time travelers. It provided quality accommodations and food. The beach is acceptable however there are nicer beaches and the entertainment can be hit or miss. There are excursions for a reasonable fee which can help you gauge if your a relaxer or and explorer and a town nearby enough to walk/cab to without encroaching on you. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Awsome Experience, must go again

Absolutely a gorgeous resort, rooms are very spacious and clean. Service was very good, food and beverages were very plentiful and delicious. Grounds and pool were very well kept up and clean, great weather, staff were very friendly and helpful.The only down fall is entertainment and bars closed at 11pm unless you go to the family side. Bahia Principe Explore Legend: What a holiday

The hotel was awesome! This was the best family vacation all because of this resort. It all started from the minute we got off the plane with the great service of the bus. As we got to the hotel the front desk was ready and organized. The service was fantastic all week and very good with the kids. Rooms were very very nice and very clean.
