Melia Marina Varadero: Very Nice Property

We hadn't been back to Cuba in about 12 years because of the food, no improvement here. There were shortages of menu items and even Coke due to covid. The hotel itself was very nice, the rooms were as nice as any we've stayed in (4+ * in DR or Cancun). The beach was less than expected compared to Cayo Santa Maria. The service was pretty good but the hotel was only about 25% filled. The location is interesting with an empty marina and condos surrounding the property. Other issues WIFI not g [... read more]reat, we had no hot water for 3 days, it rained heavily 3 straight nights and there was a smell of sewage from the marina and swim up bar. We had a clogged drain in our room but it was attended to immediately. Beyond that better beer and rum than DR or Mexico. Basically was all we were expecting from post covid Cuba.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Resort

As first timers this was an amazing experience. The food was not great but we always found something to eat. Everything else was exceptional including the staff. Everyone was so welcoming. I will be back

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort

Amazing place to stay! Employees are very kind! Pool and beach are top tier! Only thing that wasn't at our taste was the food! Every thing else was perfect. We had a great time out here. If you are a foodies person it might be hard for you

Gran Muthu Imperial: Nice Quiet Vacation Spot

Staff was very nice and always willing to give a hand. For the price, this place is awesome! Only minus was the room needed a bit of cleaning; the bedspread was not clean and there was only one bed sheet. All good, after asking, we got a second bedsheet and we put away the bedspread. Weather was nice, turned out we didn’t need it. Food wise, we always found something we liked at the buffet. We brought our own hand sanitizer and used it whenever it was needed. We did a. one day trip of off the resort. The rhum, cigar and sugar tour was worth every penny of it!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Needs a lot of work

upon our arrival we had no top sheet or comforter on our bed we had to use our towels in place of sheets. Ernesto told us it was a delivery problem but the same thing happened the next night and we had to have a fight in order to get sheets and we made the bed ourselves. No spoons at the resort so if you were having soup or ice cream you were out of luck. I was disappointed that no wine was served with our meals except at the Portugal a la carte. Most of the staff were very pleasant but were really overworked and then others had no smiles or even a good morning. Definitely will not be returning to this resort.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Great resort AMAZING staff

Exterior could use some TLC but overall clean. Buffet could use a change from the repetitive food especially at the grill. The gentlemen that worked at the front were wonderful especially Marcos and Alex. The ladies in the buffet are amazing friendly

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very nice

Is beautiful very clean, people are very nice, one disappointed with no wine and no fault of theirs , other than that very good, food was ok bring your own condiments , we brought gifts which is nice for them

Club Kawama: Beautiful beach!

The staff are so friendly and welcoming at Kawama! The beach, pool and drinks were awesome! I loved my vacation and look forward to my next visit :) Within walking distance to markets and restaurants.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Relaxing holiday

The hotel was very clean and the grounds were well kept. We brought our own hot sauce and peanut butter .The food was good .Every day there was a choice of beef, chicken,pork and fish as well as desserts and fruit. The staff were very accommodating . I didn't realize how far we were from everything though. We also ran into wind and rain for 3 days. Therefore swimming at the beach was impossible. I know you can't do anything about the weather. This was my 4th trip to Cuba.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Our 2nd home

We’ve been here about 8 times now. Glad there was only a few people brainwashed enough to still wear a mask. That’s why I haven’t travelled in 3 years. Staff were amazing as always with what they have to work with. I don’t dwell on the lil things they might run out of 1st time ever in all of my Cuba trips there was no spearmint leaves at all for Mojitos. Tried all 5 alacart restaurants and enjoyed it. Sol Palmeras: Fantastic resort

My husband and I were there at the end of February for our second time together and my 4th time. Love this resort. Everything is fantastic food,drinks,beach and staff. Have made special friends over the years and special thanks Odarmis for all her special touches, Caridad from the lobby bar and yaqueline at the Italian restaurant. We’ve been to various resorts in Varadero and this is by far the best! Will be going back in May.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Experience

Resort accommodation was very modern and very clean. But there was a shortage of bath, hand and face towel. Also the grounds were well kept. As for service in the restaurant must be improved. There was a shortage of cutlery and napkins in the restaurants. Also no wine service either. Very unorganized in the main buffet area along with not enough food selections. The entertainment could be better and in a deferent area from the main lobby bar section. If there were to improve in these areas then yes I would highly recommend this resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

We just spent two weeks at this amazing resort and were impressed with everything about it. The facilities were excellent and well maintained. The beach was good, although there are some rocks in the water. The food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a good time while there.

In my ninth time in Cuba, this Resort had the best food: fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, salads, selection of meats grilled in front of you – chicken, beef, pork, also teriyaki style and, of course, plenty of fish! Our compliments to the Pastry Chef for the fine selection of desserts and ice cream. Try the best fries in the world at the 24-hours snack bar and right next to it, made to order hot churros! à la carte Restaurants and many bars open: Lobby Bar, Beach Bar, 2 Pool Bars, Snack Bar and even Piano Bar. As a bonus, Colonial is the nearest Resort to the Airport – only 15 min away, so you don’t have to spend over an hour on the bus going to and from the airport, and also when picked up and dropped off from the excursions. We really recommend the catamaran Sun Cruise for the coral reef snorkeling, then a shallow sand bar in the ocean and the delphinarium. There is a shopping mall 15 min walk or $5 taxi ride. Come to the Colonial for the authenticity and beautiful colonial architecture, wonderful Cuban People, who take so much pride in their country and want to share it with the World, long walks on the beach, birdwatching - pelicans, seagulls, flamingoes, storks, among many other species, peace and quiet, and safety, as Cuba is the safest country by far compared to its neighbours. It’s not surprise that there are many repeat customers, with some people we’ve met coming back to Colonial for their 7th year. We too would love to come back! Please note, all the People working at the Resorts live in the nearest towns 120 Km away. Every day they take a rough 2-hour bus ride each way to come to the Resort (people serving you dinner would be home at 2 am). They all work 6 days a week. That’s why I try to tip them every chance I get. You can tip in Canadian Dollars (loonies and twonies too) as well as USD and EURO. Most of the People working at the Resort we talked to have small children and would appreciates gifts for kids – colour pencils, clothes, toys, etc. PS I would disregard older low rated reviews since Colonial had recently changed owners and undergone renovations. That's why if you are also reading the reviews on the Trip Advisor, look for MGM Muthu Colonial Cayo Coco.

Melia Costa Rey: Big Disappointment!!

First off, the people/staff were amazing and hats off to them for making the best with what they are given!!! The resort itself is in dire need of repairs and upkeep. There was no water at times, and very little hot water. NO ice for drinks etc. There were very limited food choices. Very disappointed with the resort, the beach was the only saving grace, it was beautiful, white sands, warm waters and endless walking. Valentin Perla Blanca: Absolutely amazing!

It was amazing! The rooms were great, they had a bit of a hiccup with key cards the first two days we were there because their system was down, but that can happen anywhere. We made the best of those two days by preplanning ahead of what we'll do for the day. The bell boys were outstanding driving everyone to their rooms and opening everyone's doors because of the key card situation. They worked very hard and were amazing. From the main bar, buffet, restaurants, to the night shows to the disco tech, it was amazing and the staff was outstanding. The best staff we could ever have. They were always in great spirits with everyone. It was amazing. I really enjoyed my week there.

Melia Costa Rey: Amazing resort with the kindest staff

The hotel was wonderful and we were greeted each day with smiles. The grounds were always clean and the staff attended to our needs if there was an issue. Wifi worked well in the lobby area and sometimes even further out of the wifi zone. There were always chairs available at the pool and beach area. The a la carts were good and the French was our favorite ( La Perla). I would go back and would recommend this resort to others. Everything was nice and clean except the washroom which needed some repairs Food was okay Drinks were phenomenal Service was exceptional Entertainment was very nice Pool was nice and clean Great activities

Hotel Camino del Mar: Worst resort food ever

We have been several times in Cuba and we always had good food. This resort eqs the worst food ever. No taste, no choices and we are not picky eaters. They did not had oil and vinegar for salad, bread was every third day. Cheese or salami every second or third day. Even the BBQ meat they were making was bad. Their excuse was recession and supply issues, but all surrounding resorts had food. Staff was friendly and helpful, resort is old but clean. Our room had no hot water for showers and even we [... read more] complained to the manager it was not fixed while we were there. Beach was nice but to much sea grass in the water. I would also mention that we are very disappointed from Tripcentral also, as we were booking with an agent and no one mention this to us. I have also send an email to the CEO, week ago and no response. Very disappointing and disrespectful towards customers. I don't recommend this resort to anyone and I will not be using Tripcentral in the future.
