Melia Jardines del Rey: very bed resort .

this resort is to big and the personal work hard but is impossible to take care over 2500 people. very , very ,very long lines up every ware and the food is cold all the time. the workers are doing good job but the concept is; to please 1200 rooms you have to do magic and is not happening.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Perfect Size!

This hotel is on the newer side which is refreshing going to Cuba, you don't see the typical worn down damage you normally see.The grounds are nice, clean and well kept. The size of the resort was perfect for us. You were no more then 3-4 mins from anything including beach and lobby. We would definately return. Oh, and for once I'm not leaving Cuba thinking the food sucked. It was actually really good here! Also it was only about 20 mins from the airport!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: A Memorable Holiday

My wife and I along with our son stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri in Cayo Guillermo for 2 weeks from January 12 to 26. We had an ocean view unit on the second floor of Guadalavaca building. It is a quiet place with plenty of coconut trees and lush vegetation. The view of the ocean from our balcony was spectacular. The unit itself was quite spacious with a king sized bed and a roll-a-bed. It came with a good sized TV (about 30") and a fridge which was replenished with soft drinks and water on a dai [... read more]ly basis. The bus ride from the airport took only about half-hour, which is a welcome change from the one and a half hours we had to spend on the bus going to Cayo Santa Maria last year. An additional bonus associated with the bus ride this time is that we were able to see beautiful Flamingos at close range in a lagoon close to the causeway. Actually, the lagoon is within walking distance from our resort that we were able to go and see the Flamingos again. The check-in was pretty fast and hassle-free, thanks to an efficient and friendly front desk staff. The food in the buffet restaurant was fairly average, if not boring, during the first two days. But after my wife complained about it to the guest services manager, there was a dramatic improvement. In fact, the hotel was so obliging that we were treated to a free lobster dinner. The breakfast was very good and covered a wide range of items such as eggs, sausages, ham, fresh fruits and juices. For lunch, there was fish, chicken and other meat. The dinner was also very good with a wide variety of items. In addition to the buffet restaurant, guests could make reservations at 3 other restaurants-Mexican, Cuban, and Italian. We visited all of them and found the Mexican to be the best. On the whole, the quality of food in our resort was very good and we have no complaints. The beach is by far the main attraction. The water is so clear and shallow that one could see various kinds of fish without going too far into the ocean. One other point is that unlike in the past, the beach has now been expanded quite a bit thereby making it easy for people to walk several miles. We saw people flying kites, paddle boating, kayaking and fishing. Just a short distance from our hotel is Playa Pillar, which is believed to be even nicer than Guillermo. It can be reached by taking a ride on a double-decker bus for 5 CUCs. We did not go there but our son did. He was highly impressed and feels that it is one of the finest beaches he has ever seen. On balance, it was a great holiday and we have nothing but high praise for Daiquiri as well as for Cuba and its people. The country is extremely safe and relatively clean. This was our fourth visit to Cuba (although our first visit to Daiquiri) and we hope to go to the same resort next year too.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Relaxing

Grounds were very well kept... Beautiful plants and flowers everywhere. Gardeners and all workers were very friendly. Pool area was well maintained and very clean. Beach was stunning with lots of chairs available. Rooms were quite outdated and some bugs. Sheets and towels had quite a lot of stains. Overall for the price this resort was good value for the price.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great relaxing resort

Was at the Memories Flamenco Beach Cayo Coco from Jan 18-25th 2017. With a beautiful week of warm weather and 5 days of light winds, my wife and I have nothing but fine things to report on. Great size, very accessible, and a beach that made you want to walk on and swim in all day. Resort has everything an older couple needs and wants for to relax. If you want quiet and peaceful, then go here.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful resort

This resort was beautiful. This was everything that we wanted for our 10th anniversary trip. The grounds were beautiful, the staff attentive, the rooms clean. The nightly entertainment was amazing, as well as the daytime entertainment. The beach was great, sand fleas were a bother but we have them on beaches in Nova Scotia, not a deal breaker, great pool area. The only downside of the rooms was no door on the bathroom.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great place for a holiday

This resort exceeded our expectations in almost every area. We were told that Cuban resorts were somewhat behind other countries and and not to expect as much as Mexico or other warm spots. We were told the food is bland and of poorer quality and the lodging is older and not maintained well. Sol Cayo Coco: Great value

My wife and I enjoyed this resort. The beach is beautiful. The food is above average for Cuba. Rooms were good, always cleaned. But it's the people that work there that make this place great. All in all a great value for what we paid.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Good time

We have stayed at this resort 3 times now. In the last yr they have updated the buffet and plan on updating some rooms..to make them more modern...plan to do 190 in the next year. Upon our arrival we did not get the room we had requested so had to opt for a top floor (which I specifically did not want as no elevator)...but management changed us to the room we requested the next day. Try to get building 6 or 7 if you want by the pool. Great time at the foam party! We had dinner a few times at [... read more] the International Ala cart and it was the best one. We got very poor service and food in the Italian one. Look up the dancing waiter from the International restaurant..he is the best! When getting into the pool it is a very high step down in and then there is another slanted step that is not identified and we saw a lot of people slip here so tried to warn as many as we could also pool is on a downward grade to pool bar and very slippery..so watch your step. Food in buffet was ok..not very hot and same most days. Eat at the beach grill for lunch it is good. If you want peanut butter take it as none there. Nightly entertainment is mostly dancing...but very good kids program. Overall it is an ok resort and I would return.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Excellent staff

As a repeat client, we were treated with exceptional care. We received a welcome bouquet of roses & a bottle of rum. Food was great and the staff at this resort go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. Will return once again in April.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Memories at Flamenco Beach Resort!

This was one of the best resorts we have stayed in, in Cuba. We have been to different parts of Cuba 11 times and we had the most beautiful room in this resort. The location was great, third floor overlooking the pools, close to the beach and lobby & buffet. The resort and grounds are very well-kept and clean, including public washrooms decorated with fresh-cut flowers every day. The food at the buffet and restaurants was very good and varied. The beach is long and beautiful but we were disappointed that there was not much off-beach snorkeling. Nevertheless we will certainly go back to this wonderful place!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Awesome resort!!!

Hotel was great! The staff was always super nice and helpful. A lot of them went above and beyond like saving tables for us at breakfast or making special drinks just for us. Room was always clean. Beach was amazing and clean! The ocean was super calm like a pool and saw lots of fish. If you love cats you'll love this resort because they have a bunch of kittens and young cats around the 24hr bar and they're very friendly and love to be fed the lunch meat. Melia Jardines del Rey: Above Expectations

This was a pleasant surprise for me and my wife. Nice room. Beach was fantastic,and on calm days we walked on the beach and on the sand bars for hours/kilometers through very clear water. Windy days were much different. Food was good but patience was needed for service and/or supply. Beer, wine and spirits were good.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Beach

I recently stayed at the Melia Jardines del Rey in Cayo Coco where the weather was great with lots of sun, and consistent warm temperatures. This is a large hotel so many things are a bit of a distance away but if you don't mind walking its ok. The Cuban staff seemed overworked but as usual very friendly and eager to please. I did find that although the hotel is new, it seems at least the rooms are a bit tired. Safe was not working in the room as well the shower only put out very hot water. Dini [... read more]ng was very crowded as expected with over 2000 people at the resort. Also each day there were odors coming from there septic system. On a positive note, I have not seen a beach like this before where the water was so clear and the sand so white and you could walk for long distances. If you are looking for something quiet this is probably not the place to go.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Second time at Pestana Cato Coco

This was my second time at the Pestana. My husband and I enjoyed the food between the buffet, the four a la carte restaurants, the fresh made pizza (located by the beach) and the panini bar which is also located near the beach. The beach was absolutely amazing as usual and you could walk down the beach both ways for a long time. If you want to use the kayaks, paddle boats or catamaran you had to book them so suggest you do that first thing in the morning as they were quite busy on the days when  [... read more]there was little wind. It is a great resort for families however we found there were too many kids for us which is not the resort issue it's just our preference. The gym was small but adequate as long as you don't need weight machines. There were two stationary bikes, a treadmill and free weights which was enough for me. Howvever, it did not open until 9am which again was ok for me. The lobby has a bit of entertainment in the evenings and it gets very loud so kind of hard to have a conversation. There is also entertainment at the pool and the Zumba class at the pool are amazing. There is also a market within walking distance and another market approximately 20 minutes by car which we liked better.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Excellent Trip

The last time I was in Cuba, it was 17 years ago and it was not a positive experience. I decided that I wanted an inexpensive break and after doing research, booked a week vacation. Best decision, I had a wonderful time. Commute from Airport - Short, about 20 mins from Cayo Coco Airport. Room - Spotlessly clean and had all the amenities that I needed, all supplies were replenished daily and I liked having the mini fridge to keep my water cold. Bed was a little hard for me but I like a bed  [... read more]on the softer side. You should try to look at a map of the resort on line before you go. I was originally assigned to Bungalow 8 on a higher floor, this is a long walk to the main lobby and the beach for me as I have a knee problem. Upon request, they moved me to Bungalow 3 the next day on Floor 1 and it was a more central location. Food - This is where a huge improvement has taken place. Lots of variety, hot dishes, cold dishes, made to order fish, meat and omelettes. Pastas, breads, appetizers, fresh fruit, cheeses, salamis and cold meats, pastries, delicious yogurts, desserts and a variety of ice creams. There are 3 a la carte restaurants. I tried the Portuguese and the Cuban, both were nicely decorated and the food was good, a nice change from the buffet. One of the restaurants that I loved was the Beach Grill right beside the beach area Lunch Buffet. They do made to order pizzas which are very good and beside the pizza guy there is a man grilling burgers, chicken wings, hot dogs and pork. He also had a huge pan of paella, not much seafood in it but a delicious flavour. I loved to get either pizza or something from the grill and get a table in the buffet restaurant so that I had a break from the beach and could get a nice cold glass of wine. There is also a 24 hour Snack Bar beside the pool, I went there for breakfast a couple of days because I wanted something simple, I had good coffee, yogurt and a delicious cheese omelette. Bottom line is that there is lots of variety and I could always find something that I liked and I am fussy. Lots of condiments are also available at the buffets etc, I brought some with me due to prior experience but I did not need them. Beach and Ocean - AMAZING!!!!! I have been to Mexico, Mayan Riviera, Dominican Republic, St Thomas, the Bahamas, Jamaica, many areas in Florida, Cayman Islands and the Greek Islands. This is the best, wide beach of soft white sand and the colours and the clarity of that water, it does not get any better. I loved the natural shade by the mangrove trees and there are many palapas. I never had a problem getting shade no matter what time I went to the beach. There are attendants on the beach who will bring loungers to wherever you want to sit. There is a beach bar and occasional wait service or you can get off your butt and get a drink yourself. N.B Apparently the beach was widened significantly late last year. You can also walk for miles around the bay in either direction. Pool - Very nicely maintained and in great shape, it is absolutely huge with a shallow part for kids. Bars - All were good, the beach bar only serves Cuban drinks and beer, soft drinks and water. I think that the pool bar is the same. There are 2 bars in the lobby area and one is open 24 hours a day (can you believe that) and they serve everything that you could want. I found the drinks to be very good, they made a great margarita and if you were willing to pay a few extra pesos, premium drinks were available. The Lobby Bar also makes great made to order coffees. Resort - Modern in design with an open air lobby. I really thought that it was tasteful. Staff - The staff are so friendly and helpful and the majority seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. A special thank you goes to Solansh who cleaned and maintained my room and Roberto at the beach. They both made my vacation extra special with their kindness. Internet - You buy time - 2 pesos for a special card which gives you an hour. Needs to Improve - The lighting on the paths through the resort, some parts of each path are very poorly lit. This made me afraid that I would trip and fall at night coming from and going to my room, They seriously need to add more lighting and signs. They need markers indicating the way to the various bungalow numbers. You really need to take a flashlight with you. Bottom line a great vacation and I would not hesitate to go back. So do not listen to the negative reviews, just go!

The grounds immaculate. Beach incredible. Rooms very nice as well. The activity staff best I've seen. Great place for families with young children. The staff gets them involved in games. Had a great time here.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome!!!!!!

Our experience with Memories Caribe Beach Resort was most enjoyable. The food , the grounds, the beach and most surprisingly the nightly Entertainment was A-1. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice family resort

The staff are very friendly, they have expanded the beach so therefore nice large sandy beach, nice nice resort for families, good snorkeling at both ends of the beach at the points, building's 1-5 are the closest to the beach the other 6-10 are a little walk away from the main areas

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not happy!!!!

Very disappointed, paid for lake view rooms and they were in renovation,agent told us the only thing that is in renovation is the spa. Well that was a lie. Not happy,would rather spend our money on a better resort!!!!! Don't recommend.
