Hotel Los Cactus: Great staff

Well maintained grounds! Beach was fantastic! Food for price,great! The club was close to my room,I thought would have been good. But it wasn't promoted very well so there was never many people there. Lots of people I talked to had been before. The staff was exceptional. I would love to come back!

Melia Las Antillas: Awesome resort

The grounds were well maintained and beautiful. Variety of food. Shrimp, mussels, crab were a treat to have. If you like spicy food there were sauces to add. Room was large and very clean. Staff very friendly. Beach was the best. White sand and could walk long distance. Entertainment at night was good at the bar and outdoor terrace. Over all great vacatiion

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Piano Bar is a MUST!!

I travelled alone and felt completely safe! Wonderful staff and good selection of food! Within 5 min walking distance of 3 year old mini mall and marina! Everything was kept clean and fresh! Variety of entertainment was great! Sometimes singing, sometimes dancers, sometimes a rock band! I would definitely recommend this place!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Amazing resort!!

Had so much fun here. The staff is amazing and the resort is beautiful. They made my first time in cuba Amazing!! I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone travelling to Cuba alone or in a group.

Melia Marina Varadero: Big lie

We were so disappointed with the services room conditions with broken bed and table old stuff in the room and restaurants food they were a disaster this cooks they were very young with no experience and very ignored in the food industry everything was total upside down and worse than everything serving the food while they were supposed to discard it the girl restaurant was close and some parts of hotel have to pay and more more......... We were there in 7 of Jan to 14 and never ever go back Cuba

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: We Will Be Back

This was our first trip to Cuba. That being said, we had heard from many other people that the food in Cuba was very bland. This could not be further from the truth. The food at this resort was excellent! Our room was a suite, and was very spacious and clean. Some of the furniture was starting to show its age, but by Cuba standards, it was excellent. The resort grounds are very well kept, and have beautiful flowers and palms throughout the resort. Make sure you bring comfortable foot ware, as the resort is very large, but if you don’t feel like walking, stop by the Sanctuary lobby and hop on one of the carts, which are only for the Sanctuary guests, and they will take you wherever need to go in the resort. My wife and I are already really looking forward to going back next year!

Paradisus Varadero: Pretty good for Cuba standards.

Large resort, huge pools, nice grounds, nice large rooms with fridge and drinks. Right on the beach, which was shallow and very safe. Waters were calm or small waves. Great sunsets. Resort was very clean everywhere. Staff friendly and very courteous. Good entertainment with professional guest entertainers every night. Food was tasty and abundant, but quite repetitive. A word of caution. Avoid the beach early morning and late afternoon. My husband and a friend of ours returned home with mosquito-like bites. Apparently they are bites from "sand fleas". Never saw one, but the bites speak for themselves. Very itchy.

Melia Las Americas: Fantastic golf resort.

My first time at this resort and I would go again. Service was very friendly and great. No problem with the food as there was all kind of choices. The room was very clean and bottled water every day. GREAT GOLF COURSE !! Good entertainment every day.Would definitely recommend this resort to my friends.

Brisas Del Caribe: Scary rooms and many things need updating...

I was actual shocked by the room I was first given. Full of mosquitoes, mouldy, lights weren’t working etc. I was given another room after 2 hours of waiting. This resort should be taken off the Sunwing vacations as an option. What is Sunwing’s criteria? Has anyone from Sunwing actually looked at some of the rooms? I don’t care how inexpensive the resort is, it’s not up to Canadian standards. It’s a NO star resort. I would never ever book here again, even if it is upgraded. It is dis [... read more]gusting. I should have taken the reviews I read on Trip Advisor seriously. Run the other way was the one I should have listened too.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Not impressed

This was our second visit (first visit two years ago when it was called Naviti). Better services, food and drinks first time. Internet working much better this second time. Grounds are beautiful and beach is lovely. However, seaweed was a nuisance as it was not picked up and nobody seem to care. Most of guests were Germans & Russians. Almost no Canadians. Bread was scarce, some days only “rose” wine - probably diluted red wine - some days red wine, almost no white wine in the resort d [... read more]uring our stay. Last dinner they were completely out of wine. Staff working hard but no smiles - perhaps because tipping is a thing of the past. Most guest don’t tip at all, not even at the “a la carte” restaurants which I find very surprising. No hot water and no water pressure in the evening. Watch out at the currency exchange window as tellers will not hand over receipts and try to scam you a few CUC. We will not return unless there are some dramatic improvements.

Palma Real: You get what you pay for?

If you are expecting a swanky room and a ton of nice amenities and good food... you should probably spend the money and get a 5 star. Because you will be at the front desk complaining about everything lol If you are going to party your butt off and drink yourself until you pickle your liver while not caring about sleeping in sub par living quarters... then you will have a blast. Starfish Jibacoa: Perfect space!

Marked as 3 star probably only due to lack of amenities compared to memories next door, we had a great time! The beach is amazing! The staff equally amazing and the proximity to Havana was a plus. A few tips - Private tours were way more affordable. Bring snack items like nuts and granola bars for sure. Food isn't overly great. Bring snorkeling gear. 5 star rating from me!

Starfish Jibacoa: Rustic, beautiful - la vida simple!

Genuinely had a fantastic stay at Villas Jibacoa with my friend (and new ones made while there!) 100% would come back. Perfect base to explore the Matanzas area and equidistant between Varadero and Havana. Easy snorkelling from the beach, free catamaran for each guest once per stay, hiking, birds, and super friendly staff. Bring a reusable straw and beer mug with a handle. Melia Varadero: Great resort

Postives: Grounds, beach, number of beach loungers, guy that works at the level beach area, a la cart restaurants, distance feom airport, level services, staff, distance to market, housekeeping staff Negatives: distance to havana, market stores, saw a few cockroaches, buffet food. Defintely pay the extra for the level upgrade. Extra $35 cuc pp

Melia Marina Varadero: Great Resort

Hotel looked amazing, good facilities with very friendly staff and service. Nice pool, easy walk to beach and great resturants for dining.Lots of selection for food. Great view to the Marina from the room, good clean rooms.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Will not be Returning

We were at this resort from December 27th 2018 to January 3rd 2019. Beach was beautiful, staff were friendly and overall we had a great trip. However since coming home 3 out of the 4 of us who went on this trip have all been very sick. We have all gone to doctors and been diagnosed with gut infections, parasites and Salmonella and are now all on antibiotics. Due to this we do not reccomend this resort and we will not be returning. Gran Caribe Sun Beach: ITS ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE

My wife and I have been to Cuba 11 times We've stayed at Sun Beach probably 5 of those times.its not a 5 star.hotel but the staff are.Genuine people make the difference.weve been to 5 star before people expect to much.we eat half our meals here the rest everywhere else.Lai L'ai. and FM17 corner bar are the 2 favorites to chill or dine.Maria Harris at trip central keeps us up to date with smokin deals and hotel or parking suggestions I'd rate her service at 5 Star!

Memories Jibacoa: Amazing Resort

Love Jibacoa! The people, the food, the room, the service. Everything was amazing and clean. I was disappointed in the hot tubs. There were 4-2 in the Spa and 2 in the pool area. Neither were functional in spa area. In the pool area one was cold and the other had no whirl to the pool! it was just standing hot water. Good thing the pool, beach...AMAZING Calendar of ongoing activities keep you busy..Hiking,walking,volleyball, learning how to speak Spanish! It is clear that this resort was a beauty ,when new,but naw it looks and feels very neglected,wich is a pity.Graunds are amasing,clean well kept,beautifully desined,beach second to none,rooms a dated and furniture is broken,but bathrooms are very large and comfy,food was very bad at the beginning,improved by the end of our stay,housecleaning not good at all,had to fight for clean towels every day,staff is friendly trying to please.overall good vocation for the money ,also weather was amasing the [... read more] whole time,that helped.but will look for something different next time.

Melia Marina Varadero: Decent resort

Service was poor compared with my last experience at another resort. There were so many servers serving you at same time. And they share the tips, which doesn’t make any sense to tip. There are 8 restaurants but you can only get in 4. And I was told that I only have one reservation ticket for 3 nights, which means I can only have one dinner at the restaurant the other 2 I have to eat at the buffet restaurant. And the “bank” in the resort give a bad rate to exchange money. Every day is the same $100CAD=70CUC and 69.5CUC=$85CAD SO DONT OVER EXCHANGE MONEY!!!
