Starfish Jibacoa: Wonderful Vacation!

We just got back from a wonderful week at Villas Jibacoa. The hotel was great in so many ways and suited our plans perfectly. We enjoyed the spaciousness and small scale of the resort. The guided mountain hike and pool, lounge, beach access. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the hotel staff were so friendly and hard working and we felt very cared for our entire stay. Our day was fully enjoyed! We also enjoyed a tour to Mantanzas and the nearby caves with a regular taxi and our wonderful guide named Raymundo! Thanks to everyone who made our trip so special!

Hotel Los Cactus: A great stay!

The room was clean and quite spacious with great natural light, the staff were so helpful and very kind ! The food was decent and the amenities were good too, I particularly enjoyed the private beach.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Absolutely dismal resort; the worst family vacation we've ever been on!

This hotel was falsely advertised, and is well below the 4.5 star rating it was marketed as, and that we paid for. We've travelled to Cuba many times, but this last experience was beyond the pale! PLEASE do not book your vacation at this 'resort'. Food was inedible, lack of evening entertainment, virtually non existent towel service, rocky beach, lack of drinks choices... Hotel Playa Paraiso: Good bang for your buck!

First of it has a well maintained grounds, the gardeners work hard to keep it pretty and appreciate any little token...My sister and I gave them gardening gloves stuffed with gum and money. We were in room 2103 and it was close to the pool , snack bar, lobby and buffet. The buffet always had food....only thing missing was a Pasta station of which , lets be honest , a lot of us thats our go to . Drinks were run of the mill, only fancy ones at the lobby bar, but that had long line ups. Our room was cleaned every day, not always did you get fresh towels and we always got a large bottle water every day and toilet paper. I would suggest bringing a few of your own as there rolls are pretty small. The beach is just beautiful, the sand fleas can be a bother i would suggest spraying before you go down to bask in the sun.The A La`Cartes where pretty good, the Portuguesse was my fav.. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Not a 5 star resort

It was a beautiful resort. The rooms were great. The beach was beautiful but if you want for a walk there was some garbage. We found that the entertainment staff was lacking. Not alot of things to do as we are so far away. The service was lacking as well. We already new about food shortage but we were able to find food to eat

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach and resort, not enough food

Grand Sirenis has a stunning beach with calm water as it is situated in a bay. The resort is new and modern, the staff is friendly and service-oriented. There was a shortage of food and note we are experienced annual travellers to Cuba. We ate mostly pork/ham, cabbage, rice and tomato. I actually didn’t mind it but it became very repetitive. Pasta, bread, cheese, potato, beef and chicken started to show up later in the week. Perhaps the situation was worsened due to the March break crowds [... read more]? It felt like an episode of Walking Dead watching people rush the buffet. If the food supply is improved, I would return. Overall we enjoyed our trip.

Starfish Jibacoa: Nice resort (but no covid mesures!)

We stayed for 7 days and it was amazing. However, if covid19 worries you, there are basically no mesures over there. FOOD: The food was the same everyday, and they have salt and pepper and sometimes ketchup & mayo! There was a milk shortage on day 4-5 out of 7 so no pina colada or Spanish coffee! There is always enough food and they recharge the buffet. Deserts are ok, some are nicer! DRINKS: Next time, I will bring lime juice. They have 2 bars (lobby bar 24h, beach bar from 10 to 10). T [... read more]hey have all kinds of alcohol at the lobby and a blander at the pool/beach. RESTAURANTS: They have 1 buffet and 1 à la carte. We got fried fish n chips and chocolate cake which is served at the buffet. The fish was salty, crispy and fresh! ROOMS: We got room #7 which was a nice bungalow in front of the beach. The rooms are cleaned everyday, and the bed is changed almost daily or every 2-3rd day! The floors are wiped, and mopped and the toilet is cleaned everyday! On the last day, I found a bunch of mini ants in the bathroom - that may be the reason why I’m full of bites on the feet’s. Or I may had it from the sand. Beware that there is no bus for the tourists to go to Varadero or Havana, and a cab will be around 100$ USD. We decided to do a 1 day excursion in Havana for 120$ CAD about the same price. *No gift and rhum bottles were included with the room as the contract stated. Overall, we got a fair price around 1100$-1200$ each for 8 days and we would go again.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Be leisure

Be live Experience was amazing, Cuba is a fantastic, safe wonderful place. We did have some confusion on our flight, our visas for cuba where not handed out properly and information shared from flight crew was misleading. After waiting for documents we got in. I blame Covid and online vaccine misinformation for this. Great time anyway Cheers.

Melia Buenavista: Great resort

Very clean, great beaches, friendly staff. Food is ok, not much variety. Not the staff’s fault in anyway. They really try and do the best they can. 3 different beaches, so depending on the wind, you can find a calm beach to relax.

Melia Costa Rey: Great service, beach, and overall food.

Although Hotel needed some Renos (as many Cuban resorts do), the rooms were very clean. Beaches were beautiful and maintained, great snacks and a la carte food (which says a lot because I am a huge critic for food). Buffet was alright, but we got slightly bored of it after a while. Beach BBQ was delicious!! Overall we had a lovely vacation for the price.

Melia Las Americas: Amazing!

We have been to MLA multiple times and it never disappoints. Exceptional on all levels accommodations (Level) amenities, beach, food/bar service. The people there are amazing, I wish I could name all that made an impact but there are too many to name. Sadly we had a day of rain, no one’s fault but the liveliness of the staff made the day wonderful.

Playa Vista Azul: So much fun!

We had a fantastic holiday! We had been to the same resort January 2020. Most of the same staff. They are fantastic! Lulu, Junior and Carlos make the trip one to remember.They keep you activated and having a fun time. Entertainment nights were amazing. My husband loved rock and roll night. Food was great and lots of it. Beaches are breathtaking. The change was how happy the staff was. Head of customer relations was very rude. Everyone else was amazing. Cleanliness of the hotel has gone down the [... read more] tubes. The rooms need updating already. Looks like a hurricane wrecked the wood in the main Floor rooms. We couldn’t shut any drawers. The maids clean to make it look clean but they don’t clean surfaces. Small amount of cockroaches but nothing to ruin the trip. We had an awesome time and would recommend this resort. I hope they change the customer relations agent. I had to go in there to confirm a repeat guest invitation to Neptune and was treated rudely. Other than that we loved our trip!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Not a good place

It seems that they have great issues securing basic supplies for cleaning and maintenance. The food at the buffet is full of flies, the cucarachas are running on the floor and the walls by the trays with the food. There is no awareness about dietary or ethnic restrictions. Unless you are at the buffet when it opens you don’t find some of the basic options or you can’t eat it anymore due to the bugs. The towels or bedsheets are not being changed the whole week. The hotel has no beach or ac [... read more]cess to the beach. It has a strip of sand behind a deck. The pools were decent but they had no products to clean the edge of the pool so that was yellowish. No pool service, no drinks other than rum. Everything is old and not maintained. More than this it is obvious that they have limited training or awareness of safety practices. They use glass even by the pool and a few times when things broke they picked what was visible and pushed with their foot the small pieces to the drain or side area.

Playa Pesquero: This was an amazing resort!

We had a wonderful time at this 5Star Resort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The accommodations were delightful and our time here was a true vacation. I would recommend this resort highly. This was our second trip here and we plan to come back next year.

Paradisus Varadero: Not Worth The Money

This hotel was not worth the price we paid. The staff for the most part were friendly and helpful. The sanitary standards are not like we’re used to in North America. If cutlery or pot spoon fell on the floor it would be picked up and placed back for use. They only washed the pot spoon they were cooking with when we commented on it. It took two hrs to get towels sent for us. The beach and property were in a nice location.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Resort was nice, Food was scarce

Overall, a great resort in terms of cleanliness, activities, amenities, beaches, etc. Staff were kind and gracious. Food was really scarce and lacked diversity - moreso than usual for a Cuban resort - and it was evident that the resort next door (which we visited on occasion) was not suffering from a similar shortage - so this is definitely an issue that is bigger than the ongoing political embargo against Cuba causing food shortages throughout the country.

Grand Memories Varadero: Good vacation

Even though food was okay and didn’t rise to a 4 star standard as well as the room booked, the ease of booking and induction available both online and at the resort was good. Transportation was provided with the price of the booking.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Good food

The resort was typical of most in Cuba.Outdated,old,in need of repair......all the usual things,hard beds,no hot water..broken run down things.BUT...THE FOOD WAS BEST IVE HAD IN CUBA IN APPROX.20 VISITS

Starfish Varadero: Lovely week away

Starfish Varadero was lovely. Having traveled to Cuba 6 times now this resort is a very topical 3.5/4 star resort. The main lobby is beautiful. An open concept 3 floors, lots of seating, great wifi everywhere. The room was nice. The grounds are very well kept. Food was pretty standard for Cuba. Staff are lovely. Entertainment was the best I’ve ever experienced. We would stay here again.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Don't recommend

Although the resort itself was fine, the food and drinks were not. No milk for cereal, no butter, usually no milk for coffee, no roasts, etc. Not many drinks available so usually drank beer even though normally it would be mojitos or pina coladas. An abundance of house flies as well. Staff were great though.
