Melia Cayo Coco: Good but not close to a 5 star

The size of the resort is perfect. The food was great and the beach amazing BUT the rooms are very dated. Our air conditioning failed on more than one occasion and needed repairing..we were not able to have one shower without losing water and when it was on you were lucky to get the soap off.

Melia Marina Varadero: Good Resort, Not The Best Food.

Overall it was good trip, the hotel and rooms were nice and clean however the food was unsatisfactory and was with lack of seasoning and had poor variety especially for vegetarians. There was also a lack of things for kids to do. Another disadvantage is the fact that there is no free Wi-Fi. Also another unimpressive and underachieved area of the hotel was of their, "fine dining," restaurant, "Don Ernesto." The service was atrocious, horrible, bad and really really bad. We had ordered a certain  [... read more]

Melia Jardines del Rey: Very good resort.

Had fun, food was in a way typical Cuban all inclusive buffie, we did not bother with the alacart so can not comment on them. Only two bad things about our room. The maid did not replenish the mini fringe items, so on leaving all that there was in it was one can of beer. There was a coffe maker, coffee and sugar but no coffee whitener. The resort is also very big / spread out. So walking unless you are fit can be a problem. This was fixed by having golf cart type transport you can call to [... read more]

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful Resort

The resort was beautiful and clean. The lobby was elegant and inviting. The Marina landscape was picturesque. The food was great with lots of variety. The pool area was nicely landscaped with lawn chairs all around the pool. Great for couples and families. The beach was spectacular - a 5-minute walk but small shuttle offered frequent transport to the beach from the resort and vice versa. The nightly shows were always fun to watch and very entertaining.

Melia Las Dunas: Great value for the money!

I travelled to Cayo Santa Maria in early Sept '16 alone (young female) and I had a great time! The resort is nice and really big. I had great A/C in my room. The beaches were beautiful, clear water and white sands. The food was better than I last remember 8yrs ago. This resort has enough options to choose from. The island is secluded and quite, which is nice for couples and families. Not much in terms of off site parties. I would visit this resort again!

Sol Varadero Beach: The beach yes!

Food and hotel quality a 2.5 out of 5. Plus it was in the midst of renovation, not a pretty site. The beach was fabulous, fine sand and shallow shore. Hotel looked very old and in need of a big make over. Too many plastic glasses and other items thrown around..

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Not what was Expected

The hotel pictures and the description of our room was not what was given or what was told or by our travel agent. The photos showed a room with a separate sleeping area -- by way of a separate room.....referred to as a Jr. suite. We received a hotel like room with a sofa beside the bed. This is Not a suite but a room. Pictures showed the rooms with upgraded TVs - we had an ancient old TV - no dresser or drawers to put clothing but a desk and shelving. There was construction going on all day fo [... read more]

Melia Las Antillas: Not terrible

I've been to this resort this August and must say its not terrible. It's adult only, so it's nice and quiet. Food was well cooked, but not so many choices, which is to be expected in Cuba. The beach was beautiful, long and wide however they did not clean it everyday and this means we could find cigarettes buds, plastic glasses, small garbage on the beach. I believe this is not an issue with only this hotel, I just don't think they clean the beach often in Varadero. The rooms we big and spacious, [... read more]

Melia Marina Varadero: Very Nice Stay

We hd the best time with the family. Food was ok and the beach was amazing. not alot of mature three, takes away some of the beauty. Also animation is good for people who dont like too much noise, not enough for kids. Overall very nice experience.

Melia Las Dunas: A nice resort

We were transferred to Playa cayo santa maria due to a/c issues at Melia las Dunas. Overall the resort was clean and had a nice layout. The beach was lovely and there was a nice variety of excursion choices. Staff was fairly friendly. Next time I would probably select a resort closer to the airport. We basically had to be in the front lobby 6 hours before our flight. Makes for a long day especially when traveling with children. Overall our experience was great. And Lawrence our trav [... read more]

Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointing

Hotel was nice but the food was far below par. Everybody in our party became sick for at least 3 - 5 days as well as a number of other people we spoke with. Many items were missing from each menu in the specialty restaurants but I could expect this being in Cuba. The only thing edible for breakfast were the pastries. I was expecting a good cup of coffee at breakfast but this even came out of a push button machine. Everything about the hotel was OK except the food. This was my fifth trip to [... read more]

Melia Las Americas: Nice resort!

This' my fourth time to Cuba, this' by far the best resort that we have stayed, everything 's good except for the entertainment part. Best beach ever, it's really closed to the resort. Our room located on the first floor which was very convenient to the lobby and the restaurants as we can just walk to our room without waiting for the elevator. The young gentleman who was responsible for the grill section was fabulous, always asked if we needed more food. Fresh fish and shrimps everyday! Lounge a [... read more]

Melia Jardines del Rey: Average

The hotel itself was huge- the staff were friendly. The room was tidy and we were lucky to be in the second bungalow as other guests in bungalows 16 and further were not receiving towel replacements as they would run out after the first few bungalows. The beach was a disaster - you need water shoes to be able to walk into the water as it was filled with rocks. They also have their sewage system running right behind the beach area so If you decided you wanted to lay a bit further away to avoid he [... read more]

Melia Marina Varadero: Awesome Resort

The hotel was beautiful; lots to see and do. There was lots of space at the pool and at the beach. The shuttle to the beach was frequent. The staff were friendly, courteous and went out of their way to be helpful. It was unfortunate that the room didn't have an exhaust in the bathroom as everything felt damp all the time.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Week in Cuba!!!

We travelled as a family of 5 and the resort was a true delight. Friendly staff, lot's to do and amazing entertainment. Missed the internet at first but quickly "logged into" the experience of being in Cuba. Wonderful day trip to Havanna with Jennifer in a classic 56 chevy!!!

Memories Cayo Largo: Amazing resort

Everything was good, except every one from the stuff expects you to speak Spanish. No English just very annoying! The place is beautiful!!! The beach is beautiful! Food was good! And 24/7 bar, outstanding! I will go again, just I have to learn Spanish!

Memories Cayo Largo: Very nice vacation spot

I did really liked the resort although a bit outdated, but the amazing staff and the breathtaking view of the beach compensate for that 100%. The only thing that was mildly annoying was the lack of fresh towel due to the washing machine being broken. What I loved the most there was the beach, and the people. Definitely will go again if given the right price and timing is right

Melia Marina Varadero: Just so so

Room was generally clean, but there are a lot of ants around the room. Food was not that great. Restaurant was hard to book (need to book 2 days in advance), only 1 reservation allowed for a 4 night stay. Buffet restaurant had lots of flies around the food. They also have a $20 charge per day to use the beach canopy bed.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Melia Rules

The hotel was lovely. The best part of this resort were the meals. The buffet offered delicious food with exceptional service. We were very impressed every day and every night. The only downfall was the location of the beach. We had to walk to the right or to the left of the beach to get a spot that did not have rocks. All the staff were incredibly friendly. Thanks to all who made our vacation memorable. Melia Rules
