Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great vacation

Reception desk when we first arrived was not smooth. They did not have any arm bands and we had to wait. A lot of people were very angry. When we finally got our room it was beautiful. Room service was good. The people the filled the bar fridge was good. Maid service could use a lot of help. No special touches like towel art. It was our 30th anniversary and nothing at all. We heard other people at the pool talking about having rose petals balloons banners we had nothing. Very disappointed. Food  [... read more]was good but a lot of cold food that should be hot. The bar ran out of ice a lot. The sushi beside the pool was amazing. The pools were beautiful the grounds were beautiful beach was very small. They work very hard at keeping the pool clean and the beaches clean.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: No bad surprises, lives up to expectations

This resort is large, which has some advantages. If you aren't interested in leaving the resort, there is a casino, a beach and several lovely pools to keep you busy. The little shuttle trains are fun and fast. Very clean resort (even public restrooms!) and the people who work here are so polite and work so hard. I was surprised that so few people tip for the excellent service they receive. If you can't part with a dollar, please at least show sincere appreciation. Nice to see families enjoying the music and dancing with their children. A great resort for the reasonable price.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Not your usual all inclusive

We have been to many all inclusives and this one is unique. You actually get 4 resorts in one when you choose the adults-only Sian Ka'an. Sleeping at the hotel is wonderful. The only noise is the sound of birds. The beds are really comfortable and with the penthouse suites you have a butler that will set up the rooftop hot tub with bubbles and roses, aromatherapy in your room, and make dinner reservations for you. It is truly a wonderful experience and a must if you need to unwind. T [... read more]he private beach has wonderful service and it is an easy walk to Tulum and Akamal resorts for breakfast or lunch. We spent most days at the beach and took the tram back to the resort for a couple of hours at the pool. The tram was always quick and honestly we met and chatted with a lot of nice people on it. We really enjoyed the resort and will be back next year.

We stayed for 1 week. The Resort checked all the boxes for us...clean, modern, excellent pool area, pool bars, entertainment, excellent service, great food at the a la cartes and buffets. We would definitely return.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Jamaica vacation

Very nice resort, a little too big for me, lots of walking and stairs, don't like the daily fee for room safe. Buffet there is good and a la carte restaurants are very good,beach is good. Overall a good resort to go on vacation, lots to do for a cost, people very friendly.

Resort is beautiful and well maintained , Lots of pools and large wide beach, TOO MANY BEACH CHAIRS TOO CLOSE TOGETHER !!! Could hardy get out of chair without falling on person beside you. The place was infested with tiny flies that bite like crazy, My legs are still red, swollen and itchy, Not the resorts fault but inconvenience still exists. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Nice resort

This was my second time at this resort and the service was not as good as last year but better than other resorts I have been at. We never met the butler but did not really need one. We met up with some friends and we were not greeted the same which is not that big of a deal for us but the lack of consistency is a problem. We sat around the pools most of the times and sometimes we did not see any waiters and sometimes we did. Overall it is a very nice resort and friendly staff.

We loved everything about our fantastic holiday!!! We have stayed at this same resort a few times and have never been disappointed! The beach is spectacular!!! The food and drinks were fantastic! Can't wait to go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: First time at Bahia

The resort is very clean and well kept. Large area, good transportation to the beach (Building 72) and to pools and restaurants. Food at buffets was plentiful, sometimes too salty for my taste. It was hard to get reservations for 6 pm seating, even when restaurants were half empty. Japanese was the best. Most staff do not speak English, which is a little drawback. Evening shows. Ask for a good map at arrival. We did not get one, later a bad b/w copy and after few days, a good "fold-out" map. At the beach, only one restroom for men and one for women. Usually, two to three guest waiting. No towel service at the beach. Leaky toilet in room did not get fixed for two weeks, water being wasted. An at buffet restaurant, one toilet ha broken chain for three days, even I showed the manager with a clip board three times. Those are small concerns, that do not make this resort 5*

Luxury Bahia Principe Bougainville........I have nothing bad to say......Rooms were very spacious, luxurious, clean and welcoming. The food.......Oh My God, the food.......phenomenal is the word that best describes it for me. Regardless of your preferences, there was always an excellent selection for all tastes. The pools, grounds and beach were impeccably clean and kept. There was a pool for every choice......livelier or more relax. The grounds were very well kept and the flora was amazing [... read more]. The beach was lovely. I have to say that the staff are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. All in all a 10 Star for me!!!!!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Better than expected

We were really happy with the Esmeralda. The rooms were clean and spacious. The grounds were beautiful, covered in emmaculate gardens and greenery. We stayed mostly at the quiet pool, which was clean and the swim up bar staff were so friendly and funny. Always made us feel welcome, even when they were busy. The food and restaurants at this resort were very good. The good thing is , if you didn't really like your meal, you always had the appetizer buffet to fall back on. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great vacation

Excellent cuisine, by far the best food you'll eat. The resort is very large, so you'll do a lot of walking as we did. Which isn't so bad because you'll eat a lot here. We actually lost weight! Haha. The beach is beautiful but is on the other side of the highway, so u take a trolley which is only a ten minute ride.not a big deal. I was reading reviews and read they prefer Canadian currency-not true. Bring water shoes, snorkelling gear, a floatie for the ocean and walking shoes for excursions for sure. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Best Resort Ever!!!

This was our 2nd time to this resort and it didn't disappoint. It has expanded and added more rooms, another pool, and a Gourmet and Japanese restaurants. The service at this resort is a 10star! We had the most amazing service all week, from our Butler(who was by far the best ever.. Fausto), our servers at the lobby bar, our breakfast, lunch, and dinners at the buffets, but the Gourmet restaurant is the cream of the crop. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Somewhat disappointing

This was our 7th vacation at this resort. This has been our destination of choice mainly because of the service staff who work there, the wait staff, the cleaners, guest services, etc. We have travelled quite extensively but very simply, this staff, are the best. Professional, friendly and very social! They can't do enough to make your time with them pleasurable. Too bad the same cannot be said of management. This trip we decided to treat ourselves and book a suite. Upon arriving we were put in [... read more]to a regular room. We went to the main desk and were immediately referred to the guest services staff. We were told that the suites were being renovated and we would be in the room by Monday, this being Saturday. Come Monday, no room. We were now told Tuesday. However, we were told by people we had met that they had been offered an upgrade to another resort because this resort was over booked. So, on Tuesday, back to guest services and again, no available suite. I asked to speak to the manager and was told, surprisingly, that the manager did not speak to guests and left it to staff to deal with complaints. That was not an option for me so I insisted in speaking to the manager and shortly thereafter he arrived. I told him that I expected better treatment and wanted to know the truth; were the suites being renovated or was the resort over booked? He admitted that the resort was over booked, but he guaranteed us that we would be in a suite by Friday. This was very disappointing but as we were staying for 2 weeks we, at least, would have one week in a suite. Then we discussed the issue of compensation and although they would not refund cash, we were able to negotiate an agreement for various services that more than compensated for the loss of a week in the suite. However, this was not the only disappointing aspect of our vacation. One reason we keep returning to the D.R. is the quality, quantity and variety of food at the resort. This time, on several occasions, the buffet ran out some food, particularly at breakfast. There were several mornings that they ran out of bacon, bread for toast and one morning, eggs. This is unacceptable! Lunch and dinner in the buffet was usually varied as they had theme nights and the food generally good. The al a carte restaurants were excellent, although on the recommendation of others we met we did not go to the Japanese restaurant. We did have the romantic dinner for 2, on the beach, and cannot recommend this highly enough. We have been married many years but this may have been one of the most romantic evenings we have ever had. The setting on the beach, 50ft from the water, the mood lighting and soft music only added to the excellent food and service. We had a server named Jose who catered only to us and it was wonderful. My wife and I are in somewhat of a quandary. This vacation did not live up to our past experiences at this resort and we are questioning whether we would return, despite our love for the place. Our 1st vacation there as about 18 years ago and every time we went was a pleasurable experience. We just don't know if we would take the chance and return again. Grand Bahia has spent some money and every room has a new air conditioning system. Some renovations have been made but it is getting tired looking. Bahia has expanded its operation recently, opening several new resorts in the D.R. and they make be neglecting some of its older properties. If this trip was an outlier compared to other trips we've made then I would recommend it for a mid priced vacation, if for no other reason than to experience what a resort staff should be. We will be considering our options as to whether we will return or not.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: LBP Sian Kaan

This is my 4th visit to Sian Kaan and met all my expectations. Rooms are cleaned and supplies restocked daily, grounds are immaculate, excellent variety of food and services. Nightly entertainment winds down at 11pm so you have to go to other areas of the complex for more entertainment. I prefer to turn in early so this didn't bother me at all as the grounds were quiet. Also, Sian Ka'an is located furthest away from the beach so you have to take a trolley. Sian Ka'an is adults only with exclusive area at the beach with plenty of chairs and palapyas. If you don't want to take the trolley back to Sian Ka'an for meals, you have exclusive access to Akumal resort facilities which is located at the beach.

All were nice but to far from the Beach.I was disappointed on housekeeping,On the last day ,the room was not clean till 6 pm after complain and was done poorly,they didn't stock the mini bar or bring all the towels.Resort employees English is very poor specially waiters

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Great Holiday

The food was great. Resort very clean! Staff friendly! Beach lovely. Slight musty smell when using a/c in the room but we used the ceiling fan most of the time. Second time to Grand Bahia Portillo and very pleased both times.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Amazing Week

Just came back from this amazing resort. We had a great time! The food was great and the service was fantastic especially Douglas and Junior. The staff keep everything so clean and make sure that you are comfortable. Can't wait to go back and see everyone again!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Acceptable Resort

Overall the resort is nice - clean, safe. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is okay overall - only downside were some of the specialty restaurants (the Garden Court was terrible). Biggest complaint - lack of beach size for the thousands of people staying at the resort. Packed in like sardines. The RIO next door had a far better guest to beach access (loungers and Beach Area)
