Las Brisas Huatulco: Seen better times

Make sure you have better than average Spanish skills. Less than average food. Friendly service that tries hard. Great beaches. WestJet rep was very helpful. Not a great deal to do other than the resort.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Amazing resort

Love the hotel. The grounds are beautiful, The beach is great as is the pool. Enjoyed the buffet, the Tokyo and the Italian restaurants. The drinks were superb. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This was my 5th time at this hotel and can't wait to go back. I have been to many other resorts but this is my favorite.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice place

We recently spent 9 days at this resort and had a great holiday. The resort was beautiful and the staff were exemplary. I hope this review is helpful to anyone else considering a vacation at the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal. Beach: The sand was a little rough and not comfortable to walk on with bare feet. There were hard-packed stretches of sand that were comfortable, as most of the sandy areas were quite deep. If you're looking to spend a lot of time at the beach on your vacation, Cozumel's sand/water is a lot friendlier. Pools: The pools were great...lots of pools to choose from, and very clean with lots of room to swim/float around. Swim-up bar is a little small for a resort of this size. Infiniti pool is beautiful, but water was really cold - much moreso than the other pools. Service: All of the staff were fantastic at this resort. Lots of staff available, and everyone was happy to answer any questions. Servers in restaurants were particularly friendly and attentive, and confirmed how much the Mexican people are the most hospitable in the world. Food: We ate at the buffet for breakfast and lunch, and occasionally for dinner, and we enjoyed it every time. Tables were always clean, and the food itself was nicely displayed. Most food tasted great at the buffet, although it was often a little on the cool side. The a la carte restaurants offered excellent food (especially the steak house) and fantastic service, as well as beautiful presentation of the food and great drinks. Rooms: Our room was large and comfortable, and we made good use of the balcony. The mini-fridge was stocked with water, beer and chips every day. Housekeeping was a little inconsistent. Some days, the room hadn't been cleaned by 3pm (when we returned from pool for a siesta), so we went without housekeeping on those days. Bathroom had rainfall showerhead and a glass half-door - not my favourite, but there was lots of space around the sink for our toiletries. Value: Although we had a fabulous time at this resort, I feel it was a bit overpriced. We stayed at a much more affordable resort in Cabo last year and that resort's room/food/amenities were just a little better. I wouldn't call this resort "luxury" although it is very nice. There were a few spots where repairs were visible and poorly done (in the shower, for example). I would stay here again if the price was lower, but wouldn't pay what we paid for this resort again. Location: Beautiful waterfront location and lots of lovely views. It's about 90 min from Cancun airport and an hour from Playa del Carmen. Excursions seem to run out of Playa, which made for some long days with the bus ride and picking up/dropping off at other resorts along the way. Other notes: I loved the design of this resort and thought it was well-planned. For example, the rooms are in small apartment complexes that are located away from the pools and common areas that can be noisy. They're also positioned so that from your balcony, you aren't facing anyone else on their balcony - nice for privacy. In front of the lobby, there are 3 levels for golf carts, buses, taxis to pick up and drop off - 1 for on-resort transportation (golf carts), 1 for transportation to other connected resorts, and 1 for outside resort. Smart, and very effective at keeping congestion to a minimum out front. Golf carts are everywhere and it's easy and comfortable to hop on/off without ever having to wait more than a few minutes. There's a central shopping area on the grounds (Hacienda) that has some bars and lots of places to buy souvenirs. Good selection of products, although a little pricey, as expected. The flooring throughout most of the resort is smooth tile. It looks really nice, but is very slippery, and we almost wiped out several times. It's a problem around the pools, mostly, where the tiles are wet, and also on stairs and ramps. I hope they replace this flooring with something more suitable around the pools, and across the entire resort. After a rainfall, just walking through the lobby in everyday flip flops was treacherous. HOWEVER, although I've brought up some less than favourable points, this is a lovely resort where we had a wonderful holiday, and I'm sure anyone who visits here will have a lovely holiday too. I hope this long-winded review is helpful!

Cozumel Palace: Great spot

Very nice hotel, great restaurants, snorkelling right out of hotel dock, great shopping near by. Housekeeping service was fantastic. But the best part are the people. Just to name a few - Bestabe, Allen, Juan, Perla and so many others. Service oriented, efficient, but first of all making us feel special. I can say that we found many, many friends out there. I am writing this review of the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I have been vacationing in Mexico for many years and this is my first stay at this resort. My travel agent advised me that she had a better experience at this resort than the one I have been going to for many years. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. Again, Barcelo Maya Beach Resort is a beautiful resort. My first disappointment was the food. Not the variety, but how almost all the food displayed in the buffets were cold. Even as they were brought out. I have never experienced that before on a Mayan Riviera resort. Almost all staff was amazing, although a few servers seemed like they gave some attitude (but that's understandable considering the amount of staff they have). I was very kind, thankful and left tips, so it definitely was not from any vibes I was sending to them. The second was the musky smell coming from our room as we entered for the first time. I expect those conditions because of where we are, however, it would make a great first impression if the room smelled better. The grounds were amazingly kept. Very clean. The front desk staff was always very helpful. Thanks Alan. And the pool bar staff was great as well. Shout out to the amazing Rosy. All in all, it was a great stay. My views about this resort are just to make some suggestions on where they could improve, that's all. If it's your first time to Mexico, you can't go wrong staying here. You will be impressed. Unfortunately I have been exposed to a better resort.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Catalonia resort

The grounds were well maintained as the staff were constantly grooming the bushes and grass Our room was adequate for 3 people , however there was a daily battle to get towels and face clothes for 3 people The bathroom was dark with the brown tiles it needed more light the buffet food was okay but became same thing every day the Japanese ala carte was very good it was the only one that we could get as you could only reserve it on line this procedure was not good for us who are n [... read more]ot tech savvy the beach was very poor as it was very rocky the one pool that we could access was very good

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing Place to go

5 stars the staff is extremely friendly especially Miguel in the buffet for breakfast/ Lunch had table ready before we even show up ... rest of all the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Very friendly entertainment staff had a blast with them all. Will definitely be returning again and again...

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Beautiful Resort

This resort is a beautiful resort. Tucked in close to the ocean it offers oceanside views, beaches, a variety of pools to lounge by & the restaurants are amazing & so many varieties to choose frome. The hotel staff were a pleasure to deal with. Always friendly, knowledgable & looking after your every need.

Riu Tequila: Beautiful Resort

This was our first trip to Mexico in 30 years.We didn’t know what to expect especially after COVID.The resort is well maintained ,extremely clean and well layed out.The fact it’s located in a secure gated community was an extra measure of comfort and it’s a 20 minute walk to main Shopping Area(5thAve). There are 3 restaurants with no reservations required as well as a buffet and all in all the food was good especially breakfast. Lunch was also available near the pool area serviced by a b [... read more]arbecue which was beyond fantastic.Best burgers around and the variety of barbecued meats,steak, chicken and pork was great.We pretty much ate there every day. Our favourite part was the 24 hour sports bar that had food available and we were able to watch most of our football,hockey and soccer games. My only criticism is the fact there was only 1 swim up bar.Being a popular location it became very crowded as the day went on . The beach which is located across the street was beautiful and well maintained as well.There is a shuttle every 10 minutes and also a lunch buffet/ bar available there too so you can easily spend the whole day down there.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very pretty resort

This is my 5th time at this resort. This was my first time back after Covid and things have changed quite a bit. We used to have access to the other resorts and now you don’t, house keeping was poor, and did not restock items. Friendly staff and food was still good. Grounds are beautiful and still very well kept. For the price i was just disappointed in the lack of access to other resorts and the lack of extra services we used to get. Beach access is horrible, rocky and small for Coba and the [... read more] bar access is a tiny shack. Very disappointed in the beach area especially since you don’t have access to the other resorts without paying!

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa: Beautiful setting

The resort is physically beautiful size properly for our taste. It is experiencing a learning curve in terms of service and English language skills. The food is the service restaurants was excellent quality and interestingly prepared.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very nice resort.

The grounds were very clean. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. There was a variety of food at the buffet--too much to choose from-all delicious. Not being close to the beach was disappointing--It would have been nice to be walking distance. Overall, our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Being a 15 minute bus ride to Tulum was a bonus. We ventured out one day.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Good escape from Toronto

We overall had a really good time, but want to highlight some areas below that prevented this from being 5/5. The beach was unfortunately seaweedy and not clear as advertised. We thought we booked the swim out pool but got a garden view of smelly swamps instead. There were many kids running around the resort, especially in restaurants despite us thinking we booked an adult only experience at the Hideaway as advertised. Liqour offered was not premium as advertised. Food was great, service wa [... read more]s great, and weather was great. Resort design and size was also very upscale. For us the beach, food & service will make or break the experience. We had hoped to get all three considering we spent 2.3k per person.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Beautiful Resort

This resort is so beautiful both the family and adult side. This resort has a big sandy beach with pretty blue water. We stayed on the adult side. The foam parties were so much fun! Staff here is great and really humble. They really do try to go above and beyond. Disco was fun at night ! Two things: I would suggest is to put some entertainment in the adult side because the nightly entertainment/shows on the family side are almost so boring. We were not star class and really wanted to eat at the restaurants so we bought 2 bottles so we got 2 reservations . All the staff wore masks and there were sanitizer bottles and stations around the resort.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful resort!

Resort was clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, pools and beach were clean and beautiful, food was delicious at buffets and restaurants, some food was cold at the buffets, and we prefer hamburgers well done

NYX Hotel Cancun: BUDGET RESORT

It is an ok place, staff is trying hard. So many things that need to be improved though-not enough chairs around pool, beach; long wait for meals; too many stairs for people with mobility issues; shower and sinks not draining; entertainment lacking...many more to list. I would personally not return.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Nice resort

View of pool and beach from room was lovely. Hotel was very clean. Room well equipped. Grounds neat. Service was great in all areas. Food selection for evenings could be improved. Safety issues with wind and pool umbrellas. Umbrellas had to be put down several times thereby eliminating shade opportunity.

Riu Dunamar: January Stay

The Grounds were kept really well. The beach suffered from a lot of seaweed. The weather was windy, and as a result the beach had pretty high waves most of our trip (but that's not within the resort's control obviously). The loungers by the beach were always pretty readily accessible which was nice. The room was okay, the pillows were definitely really thin (if you require a good pillow, I recommend brining one with you). The in room bar was stocked every other day. The couches in the room showe [... read more]d signs of wear, and as other guests may have commented, if you are sharing rooms with children involved, you can see a silhouette of everyone showering. The bathroom included a a generic cleaner (shampoo/body wash combo) so I would recommend packing your own shampoo/conditioner especially if you are a little sensitive. The have pretty decent activities through the day (fitness activities, pool parties etc.) and you can walk for kms along the beach and across through other resorts (which was super nice). There's a couple pool tables in the sports bar (2 USD/Game). There are no reservations required for any of the restaurants, but it's almost impossible to get into the steak house, and the Asian restaurant. The food was good, the coffee was not my favorite!

Barcelo Huatulco: Struggling resort

Probably like most resorts there is a reduction in client's and cash. This hotel, this chain of hotels the Barcello had such a reputation for luxury. This resort in Huatulco does fall short of that mark it's not 4.5 stars a strong 3 star. The problem is not the staff they were all great. They are understaffed and over worked. The problem is corporate greed yes times are tough but it's a mistake to lower the staff's ability to offer a great experience. Riu Flamingos: I think we must have been here too many times - 3

This resort failed this time with the customer service at the meals. For breakfast I waited over 10 minutes to let the server know that I would like water. I also had to flag her down, she didn't come see me. Then another table asked her for something. After that she went to a table to clear the dishes and she was throwing the silverware on the plates and shoved a chair into the table with aggression. There were a couple of other incidents that made me less impressed with the resort. I am  [... read more]finding that the RIU chain serves the same food/desserts almost every day. They need more variety. Change things up at the salad bar. There was very little variety in the desserts. And it seemed they didn't make a large amount of the desserts that were good. I would get my main course. See a dessert that I wanted to take later and it was gone.
