Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Great little resort.

We just returned from a week at sercotel , Dec 2016. Overall We thought the resort was great , the housekeepers did an amazing job of keeping our room clean and making something awesome out of the bedding etc .. My little girl loved going back to the room every day to see their creations. The beach is amazing , beautiful white sand and turquoise water. The only downfall I would say about this location is that the wind is relentless !! Amazing if your a kiteserfer (they were quite fun to watch ) but way way too windy for us.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Fantastic Vacation, Two Weeks Was not Long Enough

I stayed there from Dec 8/16 to Dec 22/16. One can't ask for anything more. The trip was great, short drive to the hotel not hours of driving. Clean, relaxing, fresh foods with great chefs and nice music. Ask as many plates as you want for the food you liked and drinks. -Buffet was fantastic with always chefs there to prepare for you on the grill sea food, beef, steaks,chicken, pasta etc.There are always four chefs there in different sections whether for breakfast, lunch or supper to please you and serve you. Buffet it self has great choices of foods and plus chefs are there to cook for you something you like it. - There is a bar opened for 24 hours snacks...good hamburgers with delicious tender meet. If you want some drinks or hungry at 3:00 AM, no problem, just get out of your room and go to 24 hours opened bar to eat and drinks. There are always people who are having fun there. You won't be the only one there. The problem is once you are there you won't go to your room soon because to much fun and you are meeting with too many nice tourists there like every where else at the hotel. - Front desk always offered the best service if you need anything. They are there to help and solve any issues you have. I had absolutly no issues except asked a few questions. People who serve you at the hotel, they all speak English, French of course Spanish. Don't be afraid of not speaking Spanish. I don't speak Spanish but I had no issues or you may practice your Spanish. - The beach was one of the best I have seen in Cuba (first time in Cayo Coco and six time in Cuba), clean, with white sand and some activities with a bar and a restaurant. - The pool is huge, it is impeccable with great service, relaxing, entertainment activities for kids and adults with a fantastic bar service. Pictures tells you all. The only problem I have now, I put 11 lbs on because the food was delicious I ate too much and too many drinks, lol. I could have stayed there an other two weeks. I will recommend this hotel to anyone. You are getting more value than what you are paying for. I have met several people who has been there 23 years. Some of them goes there 4 times a year. Why? Obviously, they are very happy there, feel at home, and secured. Enjoy your trip there.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Spacious hospitable resort

Large resort, lots of amenities, rooms were well equipped and cleaned daily. Staff were friendly and courteous. Meals and buffets offered great variety. Grounds were well attended. Enjoyed the evening entertainments.

Hotel Playa Coco: Caring staff and great resort!!

I spent three weeks at Hotel Playa Coco, from November 30 to December 21. This is the third year in a row that I've spent three weeks at this resort. Assuredly, I am happy to recommend Hotel Playa Coco. There are many positive features to consider: [1]The staff is very helpful, friendly and caring - more so than any other resort I have stayed at. [3]The 24 hour Beer Garden offers bottled and canned Cuban beer at no charge, and has very good food. The fish and chips and chicken fingers and fries are great. [4]The buffet is very well looked after, and offers a wide variety of items. I especially enjoy the fresh fruits, white cheeses, grilled fish and pizza. But there are many more selections, which are constantly replenished. [5]The pools are clean and both have bars. There is a BBQ by the large pool. [6]There are actually 5 places to eat lunch. [7]There is an ice cream parlour, which is open most of the day and evening. [8]The rooms are spacious and bright, and the chambermaids do an excellent job. [9]Many supervisors and managers circulate constantly, to ensure that everything is 'up to par.' [10]The staff at the Lobby Desk and Public Relations are friendly and helpful. Melia Costa Rey: Great Resort

This was our 5th time to Cuba and the Pullman was by far the best resort. The staff was great the food was fantastic and the resort is new. 10 minutes from the airport great beach nice pools. Some growing pains with a new resort but all in all the best we have been at. We will be returning and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort

This hotel has beautiful grounds and is kept very clean. The employees are knowledgeable and very friendly. Very good choices in food and decent room. Would definitely return. Plenty of lounge chairs both at the pools and the ocean.

Mother/daughter vacation. Airport arrival very smooth and quick. Comfortable air conditioned bus to the resort. Probably took an hour because we stopped at a few hotels before ours but not a problem. Check in was very fast. Front desk staff were always very helpful and quick. Room was very nice. Cleaning staff did a very good job. Excellent towel art! Lots of fish in the water right off the shore. Plenty of shade. Took Catamaran from resort out to reef for $20 CUC for a couple of hours. Very worth it. Food at resort was very good. Lots of variety. A la carte restaurants were the best yet. Specially the mexican and cuban. Ate off resort one night at Ranchon Cuba Libre. Just along the beach west of the hotel. $25 CUC for lobster dinner. EXCELLENT. $10 CUC for 1 hour horseback riding with Juan Carlos. Very good. $5 CUC for bus to Playa Pilar. Beach about 10 minutes away. Very beautiful and worth the adventure. I would definitely recommend the Daiquiri!!!!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Best beach in Cuba

The Memories Flamenco is one of the best kept secrets on the island of Cuba. If relaxing on a magnificent newly constructed sand beach is your thing, Cayo Coco is the place. Comparable to the beaches of Varadero, only with much less traffic. There are only three resorts on this miles long beach. Marine life abound in the warm turquious waters of the Atlantic Carribean. Manta rays leap from the ocean less than 100 meters from the shoreline. Tropical fish swim around you as you enjoy walking in th [... read more]e shallow warm waters of the Atlantic. Three pools with a swim up bar will keep you cool during the long hot days. Ice cold Mojitos are hand delivered as you relax on your lounger beside the pool. Entertainment is provided continually by the professional staff and a spectacular evening show is the highlight of the day. The Memories staff are polite and efficient. The buffet serves an excellent choice of freshly prepared food three times a day. Three a la carte restaurants offer up a delectable choice, and a 24 hour snack bar includes poutine, calamari, and pizza. We were allowed to eat lunch at the exclusive Diamond Club beach hut. The fare included freshly barbecued chicken, pork, and fish.The room was spotless, and the air conditioning ran flawlessly. Our house keeper would lay out our towels and bedding like figurines, including fresh flowers daily. The Memories is rated as a 4 plus hotel and certainly lives up to that standard. We flew Sunwing airlines for the first time and were impressed with their courtesy. Unlike some other Canadian airlines we have flown to Cuba with, Sunwing was virtually on time and on schedule, with just a 15 minute delay coming home. Our 11 days in Cuba cost us only $2330 Canadian, all inclusive, booked through Tripcentral. This was our fifth trip in four years to Cuba. We have been to Cayo Santa Marie, Hoguin Guadalavaca, and Varadero twice, Cuba is in my opinion, the best "bang for your buck" Carribean vacation spot Canadians can find. As a footnote, Cayo Coco is an island, with the closest town of Moron a twenty minute drive away.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great week at MJDR!

Got off to a bit of a rough start.. long check in process and dirty room, but quickly resolved and everything was great from there! Huge beach, multiple pools and always shade available. Its a big resort, but outstanding staff really make you feel taken care of. Loved the beach party and theme nights.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Let feeling unwelcomed

We just returned from a week vacation and this will be my 20th visit to cuba and 4 time to cayo coco. Unfortunately my impression is not a positive experience and that customer service was really lacking. At the Italian restaurant the waitress was rude and made the group feel less than welcomed. We were told immediately before ordering that we were only able to order one item from each list in the menu and getting wine was like pulling teeth. There was 16 of us dinning that night and they wo [... read more]uld not leave us a bottle and did not come to refill after multiple request. We were told that we would have to wait and wait we did for over 30 minutes. I felt like we were begging to be served. This was our first a la carte experience on the resort and first impressions are lasting. The bar was never able to handle the number of guest and drinks took a long time to get. Rooms: some of our rooms were good but that was in block 8 and 16. The rest of the group did not have toliet sets the entire week even though they called numerous times. Also one room the TV did not work and many calls later still not addresses just the run around (these rooms were in block 8) This was even reported to a manager and still not fixed. Boxed an extra meal for the Japanese at a cost of $35.00 pesos and when we arrived told a glass of wine would be $3.00 peso each. They only filled the glass a 1/3 of the way and if topped up charged again $3.00 pesos. I have paid at other resorts to have a special meal and never charged for the house wine. Feel that this resort was more about extra money and less about impressing the tourist. Went to book the cave night with the Sunwing rep and told that it was no longer running. We wanted to go as a group of 16 people. That night when we were in the lobby there was a cuban selling the tour we were told no longer running and closed to the public. I think that this is so it can be sold by cash and not as a trip through the operator. We were so discouraged at this point we decided to not go. We did take the tour bus to Pillar beach and had a great time and enjoyed the service we received on the beach and at the restaurant. Perhaps they should hire some of these people to work on the resort. The beach was beautiful the weather was hot and sunny and that was the only positive I can say about this trip. I would not return or would I recommend this resort to any of my friends. I think it may be time to look at other islands such as Dominican Republic for future trips.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Resort and Price!!

Great resort... Food was definitely acceptable... Everyone was friendly... Grounds were maintained well.. Only issues to note were the mosquitos were brutal, but the hotel did everything they could to eliminate that issue.. Definitely recommend bringing some form of bug spray.. We will definitely be coming back to this resort in the very near future..

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Absolutely Beautiful with the best Pina Coloda!

This resort is stunning. One of the nicest grounds I have seen. The workers from gardens, bars, buffet, room cleaners and front desk could not have been nicer. The beach was wonderful. We walked barefoot on the beach in both directions for about an hour and the sand was soft and smooth. The ocean floor was also clean and soft. Much nicer that in front of the next two resorts on the right side which were full of broken sea shells. I would recommend this resort to everyone

Melia Jardines del Rey: Incredible stay in Paradise

This was the most amazing resort with the most wonderful people! The beach was beautiful and clean and the pools were ideal with different depths and activities depending on the pool! I loved the stay overall, the only draw back was the food which was mediocre.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great staff

Overall, this was an awesome resort. The staff were so friendly and nice. The food was what ou would expect from a resort in Cuba. The only downfall were the subpar showers and the inconsistency in pool towel availability. But the friendly, over accoodating staff really made up for that. We'd go back for sure!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Everything we hoped for!

The hotel was in great shape, with lots of staff to keep it clean and neat. Grounds were constantly being worked on to keep it to a great standard. The buffet food was ok (typical Cuban standard) but the a la cartes were really tasty!! The beach was lovely! Lots of shade areas to read a book. Sol Cayo Coco: Relaxing

Great beach, dining and staff. Best place in Cuba! Warm weather for December. Little drizzle. Clean hotel rooms. Fun excursions. Crocodile excursion was fun. Went to another beach that was just as nice as ours too.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good Resort

The resort looked like it was recently updated. The grounds were well maintained, the rooms were nice, and the restaurants were clean. The pool didn't seem to be cleaned on a regular basis though. Also the public washrooms were hit and miss, often flooded and smelling horrible. Our room had a scenic view of a gravel pit which wasn't great but not the end of the world. We went to two alacart restaurants. The oriental was good however the service was very slow. The Cuban grill was amazing [... read more] and they even made a cake for our friend as it was his birthday. The buffet food was better than most Cuban resorts. Normally I find the meat fatty and dried out but not here. If was very tender and juicy. The buffet though seemed small for the size of the resort and it always seemed to be packed with people. We found a few times that some items in the hot buffet were stone cold when freshly restocked. As with most Cuban resorts the service was great and the staff are always friendly though they seemed to be short staffed.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Good Value

Our check-in was horrible not very informative we just got our keys and were brought to our room. We were not told anything about the resort. The room was amazing, we stayed in a wooden bungalow. The food was okay, but the buffet did not have much selection. A La Cartes were good. The beach was beautiful, but the resort was very quiet while we were there, there was not many other tourists which we found odd, it was almost like a ghost town walking through the resort. The overall service at the h [... read more]otel was poor. You are also only given 1 bottle of water for the week. This resort it very secluded so there are not malls or shops near by, not great for people who like to leave the resort.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Simply Perfect

The first time vacationing for Nicki and I, this resort was absolutely amazing! Very friendly staff, short walk to the beach and great food, perfect swim up bar with courteous and quick bar staff. The beach was beautiful and we were able to walk all around without fear of stepping on corals or rocks. If you are looking to travel somewhere RELAXING with no kids (16+ only) then this is exactly where you need to be. We will visit again for sure! 100%!

Melia Cayo Coco: Lots of construction

Pros:excellent entertainment and Jose gave an excellent massage. Cons: beach was closed for construction for 3 days. So no beach during the day and loud contruction right under our window at night. They offered us shuttle buses to other resorts, but it was still very inconvenient.
