Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: The most beautiful beach resort I've visited!

Laguna Azul is a gorgeous resort with a fantastic beach. The ocean water is so clear for miles out! The resort staff is friendly, energetic and they really work hard to keep resort guests happy and entertained. If you're looking for a trip without a lot of kids, go during the school year. I loved the Catamaran tour, and the Havana city tour was eye opening as well (you have to see it for yourself). My only regret is not booking excursions in advance, certain excursions only go out certain days o [... read more]f the week, so book as soon as you get there. The same goes for the restaurants where you have to make reservations. The food at the buffet and snack bar was..... good enough if you stick to pizza and fries. I strongly reccommend booking dinner at the Japanese Tappanyaki and the Cuban restaurant- both were fantastic! Overall, if you're looking for a laidback trip in a beautiful location, I would reccommend Iberostar.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice resort! Very little mosquitoes!

Very good layout of resort! No worry when it rains as all buildings are connected to each other via bridges on each floors. Clean. Very little mosquitoes, not like on our previous stays at other resorts where we basically fed the mosquitoes. Ala carte restaurants really good...lobsters & lamb. They didn't have the red snapper on their menu :-( but they replaced it with tuna so still ok. Buffet is ok. They do repeat their menu but still ok, able to find something ones like due to big selection. E [... read more]njoyed their fresh cooked fish & shrimps! Some cons- not enough spots at the beach. By 6am almost all spots are reserved. By 7am only a few spots way at the back is available. No face towels during our first two days. We stayed in bldg 12-3rd floor facing the pools and is quiet. One of our rooms ac not cool at all. Complained..mechanic came but couldn't do anything about it...talked about water circulation powering the bldg blah blah...we didn't request to switch as we like to keep the adjoining rooms. Clean rooms, no uninvited pest which is good. Overall stay is very good!

Very clean, easy access to everything, we loved the location of our room,one think I missed was there was no clip hangers to hang your pant. The beach is amazing! The grounds are beautiful, we enjoyed the entertainment.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

This is a great resort, well worth the money. Food was great, room was great with ocean view, staff is great with the kids, everything was amazing . I would go back there for sure, highly recommended resort

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Best Service, Food and Atmosphere!!!

This was the best trip I have had South. The resort is beautiful and the people of Jamaica are exceptionally friendly. We were close to the airport so not a long drive getting there. Going again March 2015!!

The staff is very nice, and easy going the beach was amazing. There were great activities for everyone. We had a lot of fun ! The entertainment was great, they really like to involve the quests at the hotel.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great Family Vacation

We travelled in Feb 2014 with my family. There was 11 of us, 8 adults & 3 children. The food was great, the beach was fabulous. The resort was HUGE but had something for everyone! It was a great trip & would go back again.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Amazing People and Resort!

Iberostar Rose Hall Suites was fabulous! Beach service was the best that I have ever experienced!!! Rooms were clean and spacious. Food abundant and tasty. Beach lovely! I would go back in a Heartbeat!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: was a fair place

it was fine all around but food was fair ,had trouble when lost towel,long drive from airport,front desk had people who could not no or use inglish,food on grills was over cooked,do not order beef or pork ,could use beef on the sole of you shoes tuffand again over cooked

really impressed with the friendly staff,clean rooms,good food and fantastic beach. pool area is very clean. bars serve excellent drinks and they seem to remember what you are drinking. my rating is 97/100

Resort was extremely friendly, fun and easy to navigate, despite its size. Grounds and hotel itself was exceptionally clean. Staff from housekeeping, servers and entertainers were committed to your needs. Only complaint I may have had was the need for increased evening entertainment other than nightly shows. Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: A good resort

Overall it is a very good resort. The bad points are the pool is not heated,the food is just average plus. Warm rooms at night. Good points A great location. Some may argue because of the distance from Puerto Vallarta but that's what we wanted. Great location to go and explore the neighboring communities.Excellent staff. Morning walks on an empty beach.Good spa. Comfortable rooms.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Ok resort

The Resort grounds were beautiful. Rooms were nice. Had a room near the beach. The resort is very large and you have to do a lot of walking to get anywhere. The beach was nice but over crowded. They have carts to give you a ride around the resort but can be a long wait to get a ride. Quicker most time to walk. I was really disappointed in the food. I found the buffet not to have a lot of choice and was not really great. It was hard to find something to eat that had any flavor. The beach bar and snack bar was not so great. They didn't open by the time posted, always late to open which really upset me when the Lindo next door was open 2 hours before but we couldn't use it. Asked front desk for an upgrade bracelet to use services at the lindo but was told no. The pool was nice but did not use, because I prefer the beach. I would not return to this resort because of food and service. I had better food in Cuba.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Brand new resort with amazing view and staff

Everything was amazing. Food was great quality and staff all around the resort was superb. Lots of choices of restaurants. And decor I was going to steal cuz it was so cool. Not packed the week we went which was nice. Bit far away from town but it was fine with us. Taxi was expensive to the next town 15 mins away. Staff were excellent bringing drinks to the pool and beach. Recommend the bar at the beach and the burger and fries It was more money that we wanted to spend but so worth it. Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: Beautiful hotel.

This was our first trip to the Dominican since 2003 and a lot has changed, mostly for the better. The Iberostar Hacienda is located about half an hour from La Romana near the villages of Bayahibe and Dominicus. This area had almost no resorts 11 years ago. The resort is beautiful with expansive gardens with lots of local birds and plants. The lobby area has a large assortment of great looking pieces of furniture, many of which appear to be antiques. Change #1, the language skills of the Dominicans in the tourist industry have improved immensely with most speaking English, French and German adequately or better, yes, all 3 languages. The service is prompt, polite, enthusiastic and cheerful. Nobody should be able to suggest this hotel provides poor service, it is flawless. Paulie on the activities desk was a huge help, a mine of information, speaks better English than a lot of the natural English speakers with whom he deals. Likewise, Cesar on the front desk was great. We usually used the buffets, 1 for breakfast, 2 for lunch and 1 for supper. The selection of food is huge although a lot of it was strange and, to me, not that palatable. I did always find something I liked and always had more than enough to eat. We tried two of the a la carte restaurants, Japanese and Steak, and the food was very good and more than plentiful. The room was always clean with the little extras we have come to expect in these resorts. The water sometimes takes a while to get hot so run it before you want to get in. The pool area(s) are spotless, the swim up bar is good, clean and well staffed. Likewise the beach is close and the bar there is well staffed. One waiter on the beach stood out. I never got his name but he walks up and down with a tray full of drinks calling out for people to get them. Up and down, over and over. Hard working and funny guy. The prices of goods in the resort stores is quite high. For example, a bottle of good rum was $32 in the store and 2/$34 in a store we stopped at on a tour. Another fun person was the animation guy, Nicola. Good for a laugh or three. The negatives, as such: The beach is not as nice as Punta Cana. The water isn't as clear and the reason for that is the reef off Punta Cana where all the waves break leaving the bays nice and calm. Not that the beach here is bad but it has more of a slope, the sand is less fine and there are a few rocks in the water. I've marked down the value, not because it isn't a good resort but because it's the most expensive in the area and I'm not sure if there is enough extra to warrant the cost. But, if you can afford it, it won't disappoint.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Excellent Resort

Food, drinks, rooms all excellent. Lots of wildlife and walking. Peacocks were a bit of a nuisance when they "crowed" early in the morning . Highly recommend this resort . Great pools, something for everyone.

Hotel Mojito: Great Beach and Food

This was a very nice hotel...beautiful rooms, and for the first time to Cuba I can say the food was amazing...no diet camp at this resort..lol The staff was very helpful and very friendly. Very good entertainment. I would go back to this resort.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very nice resort

Thought the hotel was very clean. Grounds were extremely well kept. Food was very good, lots of different variety's to choose from. Rooms were clean. Entertainment staff were excellent. Outside bar area, would have been better with stools around it, so as to interact better with people. The swim up bar, certainly wasn't the best I have been to, so definitely room for improvement. The location and size of the property was perfect.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful getaway

We visited in february of 2014 for an adults only week of fun in the sun. The grounds are striking, and this is obvious on arrival. Staff are constantly tending to public areas, but are inconspicuous and always pleasant. Our room was a little disappointing. It had a damp, musty, closed up smell, and although it was clean, it also faced the loading doc of the neighbouring resort where trucks come and go constantly, so there is a good deal of not so good noise. Since we are Canadian, and extra pol [... read more]ite to boot, we were inclined to stick it out, but decided, ultimately, that since we were here to have the best possible vacation, we would ask-just to see. Front desc staff were wonderful and invited us to come back on Sunday (we arrived thursday) to make a switch. We spent the last half looking at the ocean through palm trees-so sometimes it pays to ask! The food was wonderful, and plentiful. We ate at all a la cartes on site, and all were good, but none a standout. The buffet was excellent, and quite varied, and there was often something extra going on, so we would happily have eaten there every night. The lobby bar was a lovely place to relax at night, and to dance to the band if the mood strikes. On site stores were handy for picking up last minute souvenirs, but a walk down the beach also takes you to multiple markets where all manner of dominican craft can be purchased. Again, being canadian, and thus allergic to bargaining, we probably got taken for a ride, but whatever. Our favourite excursion by far was to the falls. We wish it had been longer! We also visited the teleferico which, if i remember rightly, was attached to a tour of the city, making for a bit of a long, but overall enjoyable day. Except for the fact that we generally try not to retrace our steps, we would gladly go back to the iberostar. We had just the unwinding time we were after, and came home rested, tanned, and happy for the experience.
