Platinum Yucatan Princess: Average vacation and experience.

The location of the hotel is fine. Not too far from Playa. The hotel provides a cheap transfer to Playa, with no need to take an expensive taxi. This is the only plus to this hotel. The beach is awful. The sand part of the beach is short and narrow. The sea is warm, but no chance you can swim there. The sea bottom is shallow and very rocky. If you don't have swimming slippers, you can't get into deep water to swim. So disappointing! The hotel is hiding this information (of course). Room service  [... read more]is satisfactory. If you leave small tips, you will get the best possible cleaning. Service in restaurants... It doesn't matter if you give tips or not, you will not get any good service. The food variety is similar every day. The cooks in specialized restaurants have no idea what Italian food means or Asian. To be honest, the asking price is way too high for this resort. I won't go back. I know exactly that I can get a much better experience somewhere else in Riviera Maya.

Ocean Maya Royale: Great food, pool, and staff!

I chose this resort partly because of the numerous reviews by folks saying they had been multiple times. After a week at the Ocean Maya Royale, I can see why! It felt like a solid four star resort - we stayed in one of the villas and had a small balcony. Rooms were clean and modern. Food was great, especially at El Charro near the pool. Staff were very friendly and respectful. The beach isn't great but you can walk down the beach to a fresh water lagoon that's worth taking a look at. The perfect getaway to relax and restore.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Lots of Pools

Overall a nice resort, but I wouldn't go back. It has lots of pools scattered throughout, and very big with a nice boardwalk with gorgeous hammocks. Rooms are spacious too. They don't have a good restaurant system, entertainment is lacking for the size of the resort, and good luck finding anything to eat after 10 pm, unless you order the very limited options from room service. Most mornings it was hit and miss getting coffee poured at the buffet, but buffet food was good.

Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Very pleasant resort close to the airport

We stayed at Dreams Riviera at the end of Dec '22 and we liked the place. The double junior suite was clean and comfortable with the spacious balcony facing the ocean and the central courtyard. The courtyard was green, nicely lay-outed and perfectly maintained, the beach was spacious and seaweed was under control. We ate breakfasts and lunches at the big buffet, on the pleasant, sea-facing patio. The food was plentiful and mostly good (we loved the fresh breads). Can't comment on the room se [... read more]rvice because we much preferred the restaurants, especially the Bordeaux (the steak!), The Asian and the Italian places were also good. Less so the Mexican (too big servings) and the best located Grill but that's our opinion. Unlike some of the comments, we didn't notice any smell from decomposing swamp plants, there were zero mosquitoes, the service was helpful and friendly. Mind you, if you want to venture outside, this is not the place for you as it is cut off from the road by the vast swamps extending to the Hwy 307 and the access to this and the neighboring resort is surprisingly bad, along the narrow, busy road used by workers, delivery tracks and tour buses with cars parked along the way. On the other hand the proximity to the airport is a bonus considering the monstrous traffic jams around Cancun. Overall we would recommend it as a family place for 4-7 days visits.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Overall great

The staff are awesome! The location of the hotel was great. Certainly appreciated all the Christmas activities for kids. The food was good. The hotel was a little dated but clean. One downside is that there were often not enough pool chairs and loungers.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great resort

The grounds are beautiful. Service is amazing. Food great. Because it is on a hill, a lot of walking but they have a very fast shuttle service.Most staff wearing masks. Most people we talked to came back a few times. Also, lots of Mexicans travelling here

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Very Good Resort

Stayed at the Junior Suite Ocean Front Premium level for one week, Dec 24 - 31, 2022. Almost everything deserves excellent marks: resorts grounds, hotel room, restaurants, buffets, amenities, tennis courts etc. Probably just the beach is a bit rocky for your bare feet in the water. Though I have one complain but it goes to the transportation company BD Expirience or WestJet since it's the vacation provider. I had a round trip private transfer between the resort and Cancun airport. My WestJet re [... read more]turn flight was delayed for about 1 hour and BD Experience refused to move the pickup time which was already scheduled more than 5 hours before the flight. Way too earlier in my opinion. I called to BD Experience at 8am, two hours before the pickup. They said it's too late to change the time. But how could I call them earlier if WestJet announced the delay during the night at 3am? Also I would expect that BD Experience would know about the delay and rescheduled the pickup time by themselves accordingly since they knew about my flight. As the result the driver picked me up at 10am as scheduled, I was at the airport at 11am and the flight departed at 4:45pm (original time 3:25pm). I spent almost 6 hours at the airport. So the private transfer was just waste of money on the way back.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Fantastic Resort

We stayed at the colonial premium from December 25 - January 9th. (Currently day 10 of our stay) The resort is extremely well maintained and the staff are always busy keeping everything clean. The majority of staff are very friendly and helpful. The only area we felt ignored was the piano bar area. Always lots of staff but they tend to just act like you’re not there. Food selection at the buffet was good. The steak house was incredible! We did take a cup of milk back to the room each night which did help. With the premium your room is in a perfect location for the beach and pool and our view was fantastic. Here’s the but the premium lounge is way up in the far end of the lobby. Not convenient at all!

Moon Palace Cancun: Nice Resort

The Moon Palace Sunrise is a lovely resort. The food is very good and the staff were amazing and very accommodating. It was difficult to get dinner reservations and the rooms are lovely but small for more than 3 people.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort experience

Very clean and fun filled place. Food is great and drinks are out of the world Would definitely recommend to my friends and family Loved the concept of resort accedes to 3 more resorts akumal was a great experience with the infinity pool

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Family trip

Thank you to all the stuff here at I love eat more resort you were all very accommodating and amazing everything was organized and fresh we had an amazing time. The only thing I would see is to make it more stroller accessible there were many stairs we had to carry the stroller up and down also going across the street to the other place was kind of a distance but overall everything was so much fun

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Good resort but not exceptional

Service and the landscape are the best part of this resort. The staff is very friendly and they really want to make your stay comfortable. The landscape is beautiful, you are practically in a tropical garden. A expansive variety of tropical plants, trees and flowers are everywhere, creating a feeling of privacy and comfort. The food is not the best. The quality of the ingredients are not the best and the vegan/ vegetarian/ gluten-free options are very limited. Not recommended for people who a [... read more]re on a specific diet or are interested in good organic food. The vegetables are not from the organic source. The best dinner restaurant is the Asian restaurant, but again, the vegetarian option is small. The service in the restaurants are very good. The worst aspect of this resort is the beach. Although the sea is very good for swim and snorkel, the beach is too small for the number of tourists in the resort, so it is crowded. Also, there are outside people using the beach, sometime the beach looks like a camping site, not like a five star hotel beach. I saw people with kids using the beach all day long, therefore the beach is not adult- only. Also, being crowded, you might end up inhaling smoke from the smoking people instead of the sea breeze. It is not the right place for a serene day next to the sea. There are some beds build on a part of the beach, just in front of the preferred section, but you have to pay an additional fee for each day when you rent them. There are 3 types of beds: 75$, 100$ and 175$, depending on the vision and distance of the sea. The rooms are outdated, but spacious and comfortable. The room service is excellent. Preferred club is giving you access to a special check-in service and a special bar.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Truly horrible.

First of all, I have never written a review for a vacation before, but for this experience it needs to be done. We waited almost 3 years to take our honeymoon trip (COVID cancellations ). To start off, we weren't on the Westjet transfer list when we landed in Cancun, so had to pay $75.00 US to take a 7 minute cab ride. We waited in line for over an hour to check in to the hotel and were advised we had to book the restaurants by our hotel room telephone in the morning (each morning). We later [... read more] discovered that this process takes approximately 1 - 2 hours to get through to anyone to book said restaurant (then of course all the pool chairs are taken). The restaurants had about 5 tables per seating??!!! We were truly shocked when we got to our VERY dated and smelly hotel room (2 double beds lol). The bathroom was ridiculous (small tub with moldy edges, and the shower head was so low you had to duck to get your hair wet). Our ocean view room was mostly the view of the next door vacant lot with the rubble left from the last resort - very disappointing. As we arrived too late to book a restaurant, we went to the buffet, thinking that it would be fine and not that bad. How wrong we were... we hunted for something to eat, circling several times and ended up with a couple of dinner rolls and margarine (seriously) it was so bad lol and the nights we had to eat there - we didn't. Luckily, there is a Subway across the street. Breakfasts in the buffet were a series of long line ups to simply get in , then more line ups for horrible food (pizza with black beans and no sauce lol). Line-ups for overdone eggs and empty bins of bacon and rubberized pancakes, and french fries? (although the fruit was good). The booze is clearly doctored, asking for Smirnoff vodka and watching them pour it didn't matter, it still tastes like crappy tequila. To top it all off. someone came to our door with extermination equipment?!! We asked at the front desk for clarification and were advised it was standard procedure... ugh, so disheartening. Overall, this was the worst Mexico trip I have experienced (8 times in total). It was a horrible, expensive experience. I will not be returning to Cancun again nor would I recommend this resort to anyone - EVER

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Lovely resort

This resort was well kept, very clean and run by friendly accommodating staff. Very comfortable and clean rooms.The ala carte restaurants were amazing..I loved blue moon the best, sensei was also very good, I must say they were all good and there was a variety of choice at the main buffet. We enjoyed the adults only section. The bistro bar was run efficiently and the food was delicious. I would recommend this resort to anyone. I highly recommend the hotel but I hate Sunwing..the worst customer [... read more] service and worst airline out there today.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Amazing time

The buildings are in need of repair everywhere. I believe all resorts are probably in need of the same. Hospitality was over the top The joices over the top Excursions over the top Price- fair, experience priceless Westjet over the top

Tropicana Hotel: Million dollar view

Upon arrival the staff were super helpful ensuring we were satisfied with our room after a minor issue. Cleaning staff and beach staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and we enjoyed lounging by the pool, on the beach, and in many of the lobby seating areas as we connected to wifi and downloaded movies. We will be returning next year for sure and highly recommend Hotel Tropicana for a reasonably priced experience right in the middle of the bustling romantic zone.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Very busy post Christmas

The rooms are okay, the entire vicinity is great, lots to do however very busy. Long waits, have to be very early for beach chairs. Food is good, very family friendly. Service was lacking but I think it's because of the volume people. If your going to pack a resort there should be efficient staff. No fireworks for new years, along with lack of communication regarding reservations left our one planned family dinner (23 people) to all being separated. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great trip

We love the Barcelona Maya Colonial, The place is beautiful, room was very clean . The food was good, and the staff were helpful and friendly . We could always find a place to sit by the pools or beach.

Hotel Xcaret Arte 16 Plus: Exceptional experience

Everything was amazing and they put care in having quality down to every last detail. The art is beautiful throughout the resort, even the dining chairs in every restaurant are beautiful and crafted to subtly match their different cuisine's theme. The service is exceptional and smiles don't feel forced. The food... is incomparable to other resorts. It's just on another level. I can't recommend enough.
