Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Resort

Great Location and well kept grounds. The food was good and service was fantastic. Lovely beach. Nightly and daily activities keep you very entertained. Travelled to Veradero for a day and walked around in town. This is a very safe place and the locals are friendly.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Decent value with some caveats

The resort itself was in generally good repair. Hands down, the Royal service is the way to go. We were offered a very reasonable upgrade to poolside upon arrival. Unfortunately, the pool was very cold, as it isn’t heated. Staff was nice, but your service is dependent on tipping. We ended up tipping at least 30 CUC per day on average. The alcohol options in Royal Service was exceptional. Unfortunately, the food across the entirety of the resort was terrible. We ended up eating ham and cheese s [... read more]andwiches via room service to make up for wasted food at the restaurants. The entertainment was excellent. One final and very important point is the prolific incidence of insect bites. Virtually all guests that we interacted with were covered in bites, and about half of us ended up in need of medical attention. All in all, you can find good value here if you can handle these deficiencies. It is one of the top resorts in Varadero, judging from what we saw along the strip. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to Cuba.

Melia Las Americas: Good resort been here before

Good resort been here beforeHotel is always clean great service restaurants are good it's a nice adult only resort the beach is more private than most I would recommend it to other people it's definitely one of the better hotels in Varadero

Hotel Los Cactus: Extremely Dissapointing

I’m sorry to say I will never choose Sunwing for vacation again. From the airplane delays, the lack of response to my concerns, a very marginal hotel and a rip off on the tour. How does your company put an airplane on for the return trip without the capacity for enough fuel. I have flown over 200 flights in my life and yours was the worst. I sadly reiterate I would not choose Sunwing again

Melia Las Antillas: Not good value for the money

Overall there was nothing exceptionally wrong except for one thing. There are two hot tubs in the pool areas but neither was hot or even warm for that matter. And given that I have a bad back I was not impressed. The pool area was very nice, but the beach could have been cleaner. I had to change rooms because in the first one the safe and the patio door lock were both broken. I was not the only person during my stay to request a room change or even a resort change. The second room was must [... read more]y smelling but it didn't bother me. The food was better than I was told to expect in Cuba. Lots of variety. However, they don't seem to get the concept that a chaffing dish is supposed to keep food hot, not just lukewarm. On the plus side I was impressed by the local Sunwing rep and the tour guides.

Melia Varadero: Beautiful Resort

The Melia Varadero is a fabulous resort! The hotel is beautiful, the staff are very accommodating and the beach is lovely. The buffet has something for everyone, although they could take some lessons on how to cook pasta. We didn’t go to the specialty restaurants, so can’t comment on that. The entertainment in the piano bar after dinner was first rate, but the show at 10pm was too late for us to attend so I can’t comment on the shows. We would definitely go back.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Really enjoyed the customer Service !!!

The Hotel was well kept and taken care of. The location was great with a large beach and sea view. The food was better than expected as I have been before to other locations where quality was not as high. The price fit perfectly in our budget.

Hotel Bella Costa: Bella Costa is still a beautiful resort.

My recent Vacation trip to Bella Costa on Nov. 24th to Dec. 8th was not that pleasant as in previous years. I had booked this Trip a few weeks prior to departure.I received an E-mail 12 hours before departure from Tripcentral that there is Renovation being done which should be completed by Nov. 30th. I feel closing the Main-Buffet Restaurant at this time of the year was not such a good Idea. This should have been done in the Summer time. To have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in an open air is n [... read more]ot that pleasant. We had a few windy cold days to wear winter jackets. There a lot of other areas were Renovation work done. The 2nd and 3rd floor at the long wing was evacuated for repairs after 1 week. A lot of noise. was going on and dust flying around. If I would have been notified before I booked this trip than I would have not gone at this time. I still plan to go back to Bella Costa again next year.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great Resort

Very nice facility. Well designed with every suite near the main pool and close to the restaurants. The buffet food is good and the fare at the a la restaurants is excellent. The grounds are well groomed and the rooms and common areas show no signs of deferred maintenance. As expected, the beach is terrific and the facility has all the amenities you expect at a beach resort. The staff is very friendly and efficient. RWM

Resonance Blu Varadero: Beautiful resort

The rooms need a few repairs but very clean.bath tub is high with a stool no problem. The grounds are well kept. Fantastic intertament. Dinning buffet needs the fans replaced badly.the food was either not cooked enough or to much was always cold.but you can see they try hard to please.beach was beautiful. The pools where beautiful. My big down fall was after 7 o'clock in the evening no toilet paper or paper towel to be had in any washroom you went too. Barcelo Solymar: Very nice resort

The resort grounds were kept up nicely. We enjoyed the food and dining opportunities. The coffee bar is a real treat. Some of the rooms are old and need updating of air conditioning and bathrooms. We were pleased to acquire an updated room in a bungalow. All of the staff were very pleasant and attentive!! Evening entertainment was good. The dancers are talented, energetic and dedicated. Location is excellent as you are able to enjoy the beautiful beach or take a stroll through town. Towels in r [... read more]oom were very small and unfortunately we were not able to change pool towels throughout the week as they were having difficulty with this service. This is a great resort for people of all ages both individual and family vacationers. We were somewhat disappointed with other guests who choose to blast their music on boom boxes while wandering throughout the resort or lounging by the pool. I’m sure they are aware of the purpose of headphones. I’m not sure what the resort could do to monitor this but it will be the one thing that may deter us from a return visit.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great resort

The resort was great. The rooms and the hotel were very clean. Washrooms always clean, in working order and stocked up with paper towels and toilet paper. A lot of drink selections at the bar. The stuff was amazing!! Very helpful and ready to deliver on any request. Food was delicious and great selection- lobster night was our favourite! The beach absolutely amazing!! Lots of space and chairs always available. Overall we loved it!!

Palma Real: Below average resort

My wife and I both thought the resort was older and in need of some renovations our room had mould in it but was kept very clean we know what to expect from Cuba food was poor at the resort but we ate out.for half our vacation there was no beer or vodka available at the hotel which meant I had to buy my own so much for all inclusive the staff was very friendly and service was good

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Awesome experience

Rooms were average and not the best, not enough hot water and beds were very unpleasant looking but you get what you pay for. Food was mostly repetitive but some of the grill options were amazing, a lot of variety and very healthy and yummy options to choose from as well as the location of the resort is amazing! Its close to everything there are free drinks anytime which are amazing. Staff is so sweet and friendly. Everything was close to perfect! Palma Real: Worst Customer Service at Reception desk

Worst Customer Service at Reception desk. Location of hotel is best Staff was very friendly and good service at bar and restaurant. Lady at reception had no idea what I booked and not even listened. Rooms were horrible with ants in room. Bed sheets and towels were very dirty.

Roc Barlovento: Fantastic

The resort is very well maintained and being upgraded inside and out. The pools were very clean and refreshing. The food was way better than I expected. Lots of entertainment and things to do throughout the day. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops and markets off the hotel grounds. Will definitely go back

Resonance Blu Varadero: Fantastic resort

The staff at this resort are so kind !! The food at the resort was very good (better than expected) ..the nightly entertainment was very good !... only real bad thing about the resort is it is very large and there is a wait for drinks

Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful Resort

Considering this is in Cuba, this is a very modern looking resort. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is great, and the room was spacious and clean. The staff are fantastic. The only 2 minor draw backs; 1 the beds were very hard and 2 the food was bland But there was always something to eat and there was salt on the tables. I would definitely go back and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Just be aware you are not getting Mexican, or even Dominican standards of food options. Hotel Villa Cuba: Good choice

We were happy with our choice of resorts this year. Be Live Experience (Villa Cuba) is a good size resort with a choice of hotel rooms and villas. We had chosen the villas as we like to be outside as soon as we open door of our room, but we were put in a hotel room when we got there around 9:30 in the evening. We protested that we had booked a villa but were told none available at the moment and that we were sure to like hotel much better. Next day, we went to reception to ask to be changed  [... read more]to a villa which they agreed they would do. We were shown a villa which was perfect for us but had to wait until maid had done the room. All in all, we lost more than half a day with this change! We thoroughly enjoyed this room but be aware that it might get noisy as you never know who is in the other rooms of the villa. As for the food, it is very satisfactory, as well as the service. And the beach is great! Thank you to the tall guy at reception, the bellman, and Angela at the buffet.

The beach was excellent (5)and the grounds were well kept (4) but the inside had many negatives that could easily be corrected yet they visibly have been neglected for some time. (3) Staff very friendly (5) Food (3) Rooms (3) Cleanliness (2)
