Paradisus Rio De Oro: Nice Resort-not a 5 star

We had a good time however, this is not a 5 star resort. We understand the crisis Cuba is going through but you did not feel spoiled. They couldn’t make a decent drink, only the Mediterranean ala carte was any good. Resort and beach itself was nice but no perks at all. Cigar shop was closed all week. We wouldn’t return to this resort at that price.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice beaches but it is Ok hotel.

We love the benches but hotel rooms rhar one of room' s mini fridge didn't work for 6 days, one of rooms air condition was making noises when it is running. We did notify customers service but no luck. Our second Ala carte restaurant' s reservations was canceled in last minute due to shortage of staff but didn't give us to book another reservation.The food was Ok and staff were Good.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Starving

There is very bad food shortages, no bread, butter, pasta, fries, pizza to name some. Lines for 30-40 min to get eggs or ice cream. No welcome drinks. The room was not clean properly, the balcony had birds poop all over, never cleaned.

Paradisus Los Cayos: A Cuban Resort

As usual with Cuba, AMAZING people/staff, and AMAZING beaches. ROOMS - We had a swim up suite in family block and a regular suite in the family block on the second floor. Swim up suite was disappointing, I think we got the only one without an outdoor shower and bali bed. It wasn't very clean when we arrived, even though we had to wait for it to be cleaned, whereas the other room smelled nice and was very clean every day. FOOD - It's Cuba, so little variety. But they did their best. It woul [... read more]d have been nice to see some fries, at least, somewhere. No kids corner at the buffet. Snack bar only had pizza and sandwiches, sometimes no pizza. Smoothie bar had no smoothies. Only ice cream. I rarely saw the a la carte restaurants open. And only one buffet was open - the no "Market Grill", though people eating at the buffet sat there. And the buffet opened for dinner at 7pm! I personally think it's a little late, especially with kids. KID-FRIENDLINESS - Nothing advertised was open... there was no kids section of the buffet, the kids water park was closed off with red tape, and the park was in disrepair (found glass several times in the sand at the park). So, the kids section was always deserted. One poor guy sitting day after day, with no kids because the entire kid zone was basically closed (and our room faced this "kids park") All in all, I expected more from the resort.

Melia Las Americas: Perfect Balance of Golf & Relaxation

Second time at this resort and enjoyed every minute of it. Booking the Golf Tee times online was perfect and we were out and playing without any issues. We would recommend paying the extra and booking "Level". We had a gorgeous first floor room overlooking the beach and it was literally 5 steps to the beach or the pool. Level Concierge Service: Great service and very attentive - Thank you Laura, David & Yohandra, you were all very helpful Room: HUGE, clean and comfortable. Great water p [... read more]ressure and hot water for your shower. Restaurants: Paying extra for the Level gets you a sit down Breakfast and Lunch at Limencello. Great food and amazing people. Shout out to Osgladys and her manager for the great service and they make the best Margarita Pizza's!!! Buffet: Food was Plentiful and delicious. Thank you for the great service Luis Beach: Amazing! Clean white sand and warm ocean water. Great service at the Level Private Beach with Bar Service to your Palapa. Thank you Guillermo for working your butt off and remembering everyone's order! Thank you to Raoul for the extra padded seats for the lounge chairs. Despite the issues Cuba is having with food shortages which everyone around the world is experiencing, they did a fantastic job with creativity, flavour and choice. We loved it here and will come again.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Meh

the hotel amenities were nice, our room and the buildings were decent and clean. the beach is stunning and the water beautiful. our major disappointment was in the food. We have been to Cuba before and while we did not have high expectations of the food but we have never been quite this disappointed. The buffet was the exact same food every night (which was lacking to say the least), there were hardly any non pork options to eat, and the service in the buffet was lacking (it took so long to get  [... read more]any food due to lines etc.) the buffet definitely could have been set up in a more useful way... the 24 hour snack bar was a disappointment as well as it was never 24 hours. We probably attempted to get a snack at least 8-10 times in our 7 day stay and only successfully got any food 2 or 3 times. we would often go to the snack bar mid afternoon / early evening and we were either told "no" with no explanation as to why we couldn't get a snack or we would be told "20 minutes" and regardless of how many times we went back after 20 minutes the food was never available. While the resort location itself was nice I will not be recommending this stay.

Great staff, ok food, snorkeling off the beach, far from excursions Food shortages mostly pork every day, restaurant 1km away that had great food although you had to pay for it ! Probably why they had a shortage... to encourage you to go spend money at the government owned restaurant. Snorkeling off the beach was amazing Far from excursions. First pick up and last drop off of jeep your, although close to nautical centre so catamaran excursion was only 20-30 mins away.

Playa Pesquero: Good trip Premium Service!

The hotel is very clean, and the staff are very nice. They make you feel welcome, and are always friendly. Food was very good for Cuba, but there are shortages that people have to understand. It is Cuba and they are doing their best. Fruits are a problem, and there is really not much seafood for be found. The rest of the food chain was great, no real shortage of anything else. But when they get seafood, there was no orange juice at all the whole trip. they make the best out of it. Bar drinks you [... read more] will see a shortage at times. When we were there for a week. There was no white wine for the last 4 days, which is hard when that’s all you drink. But you have to make do, they are trying hard to fulfill their guests needs. Bailey’s was another thing that didn’t really have, only 1 evening. In the Premium Service section, the butler service is not as good as it was before Covid. They made you feel very important and really looked after you. This trip I did not feel that way at all. Hopefully this will improve and get back to the great standard it once was.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Fantastic Resort

Not only was the hotel wonderful but the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing time. Easy access to beaches and markets along with nice food and drinks. Definitely returning again!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: This resort was rated a 5 star but is really a 2 star.

We have been going to all inclusive resorts for over 40 years and this is the worst resort we have ever been to. Grounds need maintenance (exposed wiring, closed hot tubs, closed restaurant and bar. First rooms we were given were a 3rd, floor walk up that was old and smelly. We were moved to newer rooms after complaining. Food was terrible best meal of the day was an omelet for breakfast or a hot dog for lunch. Everything was either chicken or pork and casserole dishes. Beach was great and you could see it was once a beautiful resort. But it has terrible management. Paradisus is supposed to be a higher end resort in the Melia Group but we would never come back.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Amazing resort

The hotel is a relaxing small hotel never a shortage of food its clean staff are helpful and friendly the beach is great it's home away from home for us we do plan on visiting again I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends

Tryp Cayo Coco: A great place to stay!

The rooms are a little dated but air works great very clean the grounds were kept very clean gardens were beautiful a la carts were fabulous staff was awesome all of them from the front desk to the gardeners waitresses and waiters bartenders maids entertainers all were friendly and helpful !

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Resort is pretty

Grounds,and beach was gorgeous. Unfortunately food and restaurants were unorganized and, under staffed certainly affected by many things covid etc. It made for long lines and food shortage. We literally had no bread or certain meats depending on the day.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: A definite update resort

The hotel was much much better than other places that i’ve gone to. I have no complaints in terms of the room except the shower when the water overflowed. I called the reception to send towels to wipe the water as it was very late I didn’t want anybody coming to fix it. The towels didn’t come, and the next night the shower stall wasn’t fix so it overflowed again. The third day I talked to the Sunwing staff and reported the situation and that day the stall was fixed. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: BEWARE!!!

My 4 time at this resort. NEVER AGAIN. It is run down, it is dirty it is disgusting filthy, bugs in our beds, cockroaches EVERYWHERE. no water in our rooms, toilets did not work, tv did not work, cockroaches walking all over the food in dining area. No food!!! No drinks. My kids went home traumatized from All the bugs in the beds and our room, our bed sheets had brown/bloody stains which were not changed in 7 days even after we requested and begged them to change them. Snack bar had no food [... read more] they would cut a 3 inch burger in half and give two 1.5 inch halves to my two kids! DAILY. No juices no soft drinks. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE. 4 families that came to this resort on out flight left after one day. We met them on the way back to Toronto, they moved to Different resorts in the area due to bugs and filthy rooms🤢 Sunwing and tripcentral Should not sent Canadians to this nasty unsanitary resort that is a NIGHTMARE!! Beware…..

Melia Cayo Coco: Post COVID Review

My husband and I visited end of Feb 2023. We had a lovely visit and value for money, this is a great resort, despite some of the limitations already spoken about re: variety of food (before COVID food was plentiful and lots of variety) and variety of liquor (there was no gin or vodka so we drank scotch and soda). Airport arrival was smooth and organized. Air Transat had no delays (as opposed to the SunWing horror stories). Check in was smooth (as per usual). Beach and pool were beautiful (as pe [... read more]r usual). Lunch at the beach on Thursday was lobster (fabulous! Kudos to the chefs!). People were very friendly (as per usual). We met new friends and had fun playing pool every night. We had lunch at Lenny’s ($25CAN per seafood plate, $5CAN per beer). Location is beautiful and peaceful-spent an hour there just beach-combing. Taxi was $35CAN - this includes both ways. Did a private 1/2 day birdwatching tour which was Excellent, super interesting, highlight of our trip. Yes, we would love to go again, hoping that the supply chain issues get better and the prices stay relatively modest in comparison with other countries. Thank you Melia Cayo Coco for a lovely time- we are rejuvenated!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beaches!

Best snorkling off the beach we have ever had in Cuba. Wonderful beach, spent most of our days collecting seashells. Prepare for shortages with certain types of food as Cuba in general is lacking supplies. Staff mostly does not speak English so make sure to bring some of your own supplies for situations such as managing a bought of tourista.

Los Delfines: Amazing resort in the heart of Varadero!

Very nice 7 days spent in Los Delfines. Location is excellent, food is good for people who don't eat process food: simple, natural and tasty. We don't complain, much more variety than every day at home. Hotel is clean, staff friendly, right on the beautiful beach. It was our fourth time there and we will return. Cuban people are there too but we have to remember that is their country. If somebody have a higher expectation they should pay and go to 5 stars resort.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful Resort

We stayed here for a week the beginning of March with a group of 10 people and we all had a Fabulous time. The entire staff are really amazing from the awesome entertainment staff to the awesome pool bar staff and restaurant staff. The resort is very clean and the rooms are nice some rooms/buildings along with other areas of the resort are being upgraded but this all takes time. For only being open for a short time since Covid I was very impressed how well this resort is being ran and looked.  [... read more]The Beach is just gorgeous. The nightlife is fun but repetitive. The food is food and that’s what it is in Cuba, nobody starved on our vacation, breakfast was always delish, yes sometimes no bacon or bread for toast but when people throw mounds on their plates it will not last. The Pizza bar was exceptionally delish, we had that everyday for lunch, suppers were pretty much the same every night at the buffet, we didn’t try any of the specialty restaurants. Vacation is what you make of it period, if you want or need something that you think may not be there just take it with you (bagels, snacks, certain booze etc). The bugs or mosquitoes really attacked some people in our group but I personally didn’t get any bites so bring bug spray if your concerned with that. All in all it was a fabulous vacation where we made friends with staff and other vacationers. I really don’t have complaints on this resort and we are looking forward to going back ❤️

Melia Jardines del Rey: Affordable, friendly, and fun

Had a great time here, the staff was amazing, the resort was clean beaches were amazing. The entertainment was great and fun to participate in. We took our two children, and there was always P plenty for them to do. Excellent snorkelling. Recommend taking your own gear. The food was ok. Typical for Cuba. Always lots of options.
