Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Very Nice Beach and Property!

This was our first vacation in Punta Cana. We have vacationed in DR in the past but we did not enjoy the vendors constantly intruding and interrupting our time on the beach. This time was quite different, they were regularly walking by offering their products but they were not annoying or intrusive. The beach and ocean were fabulous! We haven't been away in years due to the pandemic and that is all we wanted to do was spend time in the ocean and rest on the beach. Since the resort is older the grounds have mature trees and bushes and flower beds are exceptional. We ate at a la carte restaurants 13 out of 14 nights, they were all good to extremely good. This is the main reason we booked at this resort was for the many restaurant options and we were not disappointed. We would stay here again!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Luxury resort

There was a problem with getting the rooms we paid for. After our Air Canada rep spoke to the concierge and continued insistence it was kind of corrected. Language barriers. Getting around a problem. They really need to spend time with first time guests showing them around. We spent time helping other guests to find their way. Great food, safe, clean, great accommodations, everything was excellent! Beautiful place will definitely go back next year.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Could do better!

Check in was fast, but we were not given the room we booked - after a 2 hour delay our room was ready. Hotel was nearly empty so no idea why the wait. Restaurant by the beach we found to be the best, the food in the buffet was nearly always cold. Beach is very clean - loads of loungers but not too many with umbrellas and those loungers always had towels on them but no people! The staff though are fantastic - at least most of them and it was so sad to see some 'guests' being very rude to them. I think if I was to return, I would upgrade to a better package. I guess the issue is that we were spoiled by the Mexico resorts - Playa Dorada is showing its age!

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Beautiful Hotel

This being our 2nd visit to the Majestic Colonial, we had a point of reference for comparison. Some of the differences were clearly due to Covid-19. There was no Paella lunch on the beach. The daily beach BBQ was extremely streamlined in selection, but the burgers and fixings that were provided were delicious. The [... read more] buffet, while there was a great deal of selection, the signage was not very accurate and sometimes not there at all. For example, when making a salad for myself at the salad bar, I used what was labeled as Ranch dressing, but looked like French. It was, in fact, hot sauce making the salad inedible and my mouth burning. There wasn't any cohesion in the item selections, as far as themes so you knew you were eating Chinese food, for example. Of course, there were the tradition items that were offered daily. However, with the signage being non existent, and my experience with the salad dressing, I hesitated to try some of the newer items. I feel this probably led to a lot of food waste. The carving station had lovely meats daily. The breakfast buffet was really good. The desserts were absolutely AMAZING, works of art and almost too pretty to eat! The a la cart restaurants we went to (Steak House and Tapenyaki) were very good. I feel that during our last visit the Mexican restaurant was also the Italian restaurant on alternate nights. This would have been nice to have at the resort. The food service certainly tried to make sure there was something for everyone.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Great resort

This resort was amazing. A week in paradise. The food the drinks the beach the pool - all great. Would definitely come back. Amazing staff as well , nightly entertainment was excellent. Kids had so much fun.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Fabulous resort

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful white sandy beach, Fabulous pools with lots of cots to choose from at all times Many good restaurants, The Level is definitely worth it. Quimera a-la-carte restaurant is excellent. Great choices in restaurants. Good entertainment in the Lobby Bar. Excellent spa pool. Rooms are modern, spacious, and perfect. Bar fridge topped-up daily. Excellent service, butler very eager to please. We look forward to returning.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Amazing trip!

We stayed at the Royalton as a family of four with two kids ages 6 and 13. Overall our experience was wonderful from the moment of check-in to checkout. We stayed in a 1 bedroom diamond club room with swimout which was the best decision. Having the convenience of the swimout was a wonderful addition allowing us to spend more time together. Food, restaurants, service and shows were all great and catered to all ages. From a COVID perspective, not really any measures in place anymore but we felt s [... read more]afe. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Don’t stay here

Save your money and book elsewhere! To make a long story short here are just a few highlights… took us over two hours to check in our keys didn’t work which took another half an hour to get into our room finally at 1:30am. The next morning we had absolutely no running water, our toilet didn’t work. They offered a new downgraded room or pay an extra $250 to upgrade or stay in our room and hopefully everything gets fixed. The next day we only had hot water then the following 5 days we had ze [... read more]ro hot water only freezing cold. It’s no wonder there’s mold in the showers. The cleaning of the rooms was just making the beds and replacing the bathroom towels. Our floors got mopped once during the week. Not one day did we get the beach towels we were supposed to nor was our fridge restocked with water like it was supposed to be when we called the front desk as well as guest services they were rude and said they’d be sent to our room nothing ever came even though we called everyday. They try to rope you into a timeshare every time you turn around and won’t leave you alone no matter how many times you say no thank you I’m not interested. The beach was not raked and full of seaweed. I can go on and on but unfortunately I don’t have enough space. This is not a 4 star resort by far!

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: The resort was ok at best

Rooms were nice people were not the nicest very rude I though some people were awesome but they were over shadowed by the rude ones like we were inconveniencing them most of them were in the buffet. The locals being there for 2 days really sucked at no one paid attention to us at all just the locals. I wouldn’t have went there if I knew that . It was our 50th anniversary and we couldn’t be more pleased with our selection of this hotel especially the staff who were very friendly and helpful no matter how small the issues the ambiance cleanliness were all above board we would highly recommend this hotel to everyone thanks for the memories

Secrets Royal Beach: Great Resort

The hotel was very good, I was impressed by the staff, very accommodating, respectful and entertaining Juan Luis really made it a special stay for us The food had a well put together variety, very tasty. The entertainment group especially the guys on the floor mingling and dancing with people were special

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

Swim up rooms are fantastic! The beach is beautiful. The food, restaurant choices are great. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The coffee cafe is an added bonus for those who love their morning coffee or latte! So clean! Beautiful gardens.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

The resort was always clean and tidy, the staff were very professional and friendly. The food was really good, the animations and shows were great. We had a really nice time staying at Majestic Colonial!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great vacation

This hotel is very clean and the employees are very helpful. The check in staff for me were amazing as check in was easy and quick. The overall resort is very big but there is always trams running to get you to where you want to go. They sanitize all the time and when you get up from your seat at the buffets or restaurants there is someone right there sanitizing. The food was amazing and every a la carte we went were fantastic. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Chiq was really nice

We liked the resort. It's small and seems like 5 minutes walk to restaurants and beach (and we were at the back of the resort). We were there for 10 days and could have been there longer. Spent most of the time on the beach walking for 5-10km every day. Beach is windy constantly and when it was cooler we went to the pool. Restaurants are nice (Italian, Buffet and Indian were our preferred places) - did not have to book them ahead of time. Coffee at the coffee shop Insomnia was great -  [... read more]opens at 7am and great to grab a coffee and go to the beach. Service was good overall. Some of the waiter staff were not trained on the menu options. As a vegan, I was able to have options for breakfast, lunch and dinners every day. If there weren't options, the chef was helpful in preparing a veggie dish just for me.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana - Resort has changed since last year

This resort is beautiful, food is great and the workers are amazing. I have been here before and had an amazing time. This time I was disappointed. It has been converted to a serenity spa wellness centre. No music at the pool or beach. Very quiet and boring. At the beach buffet you are totured listening to rain drops keeps falling on my head and somewhere over the rainbow!!! Ocean El Faro: Amazing resort

We were there as a group of 8 & I personally don't have any complaints. We had the swim out rooms & they were fantastic, highly recommended. Service by all staff was very good & accommodating. All of the restraunts & spa/ gym, store are on the main strip as soon as you come out of the beautiful lobby area. You don't have to go searching for any of the restaurants or services, it's all right there. Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Nice resort - unsatisfactory service

From the minute we stepped off the bus at the resort on Sunday we were made to feel unwelcome. Our room category was Hideaway Diamond Club Butler Suite. We went to the check in desk and were told - you're Hideaway, they pointed to a group of buildings and we were told we had to go there and had to find it on our own. Once we found the other check in desk we were told to help ourselves to drinks and snacks in the other room while they got our paperwork ready, there were no employees in the oth [... read more]er room so we got our own drinks and then employees came in and told us we couldn't get our own drinks. We were introduced to our butler Fluery but our room wasn't ready so he took us to the buffet for lunch. We went to the Hideaway pool until our room was ready at 3pm - always lots of chairs around the pool and Greisy provided excellent service at the pool bar and around the pool all week. Fleury showed us to our room we exchanged contact information for What's App and we really didn't see Fleury again for the next 5 days. We were never offered a tour of the resort. Fleury did nothing to make us feel welcome and getting him to help with anything was a fight and we did not request anything extravagant or crazy. We had no bathrobes in our room and I had to ask for them 4 times - his response was always - are you sure they are not in your room? Once we finally got our robes they were not the upgraded robes that we were supposed to have. Our room included upgrade mini bar and I couldn't even get them to fill it with bottled water and diet Pepsi. I had to keep refilling it myself from the Hideaway Lounge. I had What's App confirmation of our dinner reservations from Fleury but when we got to dinner on 2 of the 3 nights they had no record of our reservation. Both restaurants said the same thing -'thats Fleury - he always does that'. He never came and picked up our bags for our return flight. He never checked in to see if we needed anything. I've been to other resorts some Royalton - with butler service and they check in once a day just to see if everything is okay - that did not happen here. Everyone with Fleury for a butler had the same complaints. Our room came with a bottle of alcohol - it took 5 days and a complaint to our Sunwing rep to finally get it 1.5 days before we left. Turndown service was included in our room category and never happened once and we did not have the do not disturb sign up. Escort to dinner was never offered, cold towels at the pool were non-existent. The service in the restaurants wasn't much better - with the exception of Edwin in the Mexican restaurant and a woman in the outside section of the breakfast buffet it was almost impossible to even have someone fill your water glass. The entertainment staff around the pool made it clear they didnt like thier jobs, needed tips but didn't do anything to earn them. There was lots to do at the resort or you could sit and relax but for the extra we paid for Diamond club Hideway it was a complete waste of our money.

Finest Punta Cana: Family vacation

We stayed at Finest with grandparents and kids and had a great time. The hotel was very new and clean, friendly staff. There was many restaurants to choose from which was great, and the food trucks and cafe had amazing snack options. (Hibachi options were not the best, order in the main restaurants) Our room was great, large bathroom and plenty of room. Unfortunately the other 2 rooms we booked as pool view, had a view of a largely empty lot and hotel next door. Beach and chairs are ab [... read more]solutely beautiful, and great for long walks. The Spa is not to be missed, absolutely amazing. Had a 2 hour scrub and massage treatment and I can't say enough about the Aqua treatment. Great shows at night, a club for later hours if you wish.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Not for the party people, but relaxing

I am going to be really honest. This was my 3rd time in Punta Cana and my first time going to a Royal Catalonia resort. We booked here because my family golfs but turns out this resort is more for older couples and doesn’t have much to do for younger people especially in the evening. The food was much better than any other resort I’ve been to but you MUST make a reservation for dinner or you can’t go in to any restaurant and there is no buffet option on the Royal side. Maria the housekeeper, Williams the towel person and Ashley and Anderson the servers were phenomenal! The rooms were outdated and the AC wasn’t nearly strong enough in any of the 5 rooms we booked. Overall, a place I would go for a quiet relaxing time, not a good time and the resort is very much a couples resort which I wish I had known beforehand.
