We stayed at the Riu Palace, it was nice and quiet during May. We were able to access the other Riu locations which was great. The food and service were also awesome. Love how close it was to the airport. Beach is small but still enjoyable. Rooms have some wear and tear but are still clean and modern. Make sure you download the app to get full access to all the amenities including making reservations for restaurants. Would recommend it to others!!

Riu Reggae: Entertainment Staff & Bartenders are the main highlight!
The hotel is nice, smaller than I thought. It draws a very interesting crowd as it's known as a party resort. The food was decent, but there's not much variety. The gym was small but had the necessary equipment - often busy in the morning, I recommend going after 4pm.
The highlight was the animation team, entertainment staff and bartenders. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. They work long hours in the hot sun all day, but they constantly have smiles on their faces [... read more]and greet you with excitement and enthusiasm. We would look forward to seeing them every day, they all deserve raises!!! They really went out of their way to check on us and make sure we were having a great time. They are some of the most amazing people I've ever met.
There's a decent amount of things to do, however there's an awkward period between dinner and the evening shows/entertainment where guests seem a bit unsure of what to do. Most typically end up at the bar or in their rooms.
Overall, it's a nice play to stay if you're looking for a party resort.

Ocean Eden Bay: Could have been better
The music was terrible. I'm from Toronto and I heard more drake at the resort than I have heard in my life. I also found the woman employees were not friendly and made me feel uncomfortable.
We had also requested a room closer to our friends, but instead we were really far apart. They also provided a room with 1 bed for my friend and I. When again, we specifically asked for 2 beds.
The food was also lacking taste, the fruits were watered down and the selection was bare.
We will not b[... read more]e coming back.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Good resort, Good staff, needs upgrading
This resort has some really bright spots and some things that really need improvement. I’ll start with the bad….
The rooms….. if you’re expecting a stunning room then you are going to be disappointed. The room we stayed in was very basic and kind of reminded us of a run of the mill 3 star hotel. The TV had cracks in it, the water pressure in the shower was awful, furniture was chipped and paint was peeling off the walls.
The pool….. the pool was big and the water was a nice temperature but[... read more] it is in serious need of some TLC. There were pieces of tile missing on the pool wall, paint was peeling on the big sandals tower and there were tons of bugs in the pool. We even noticed a cockroach dead on the pool deck.
The beach….. the beach is beautiful but there is no shade at all. No umbrellas, no trees to sit under. The beach is also quite small.
Now we move onto the good…..
The food…. The food was pretty decent, definitely a step above some of the all inclusives we’ve been to. Our favourites were Kelly’s dockside, the jerk shack and the pizza places.
The staff…. The staff for the most part were super friendly. They always made sure that we had everything we needed. They also put a lot of effort into getting people involved in playing games by the pool and having a good time.
The entertainment……. The entertainment was good…. Nothing spectacular but definitely not something to complain about either. The silent party on the beach was super fun and so was the couples game show.
The drinks….. the drinks were very good. Being able to get premium alcohol was a huge plus for us. The bartenders were extremely friendly and always made sure we had a cold drink. Some bartenders also got a bit creative when we felt like trying something new and we loved that. The bartenders at the pool bar and the beach bar were standouts for us.
The rabbit hole….. We went here almost every night. They had really cool drinks that you can’t get anywhere else on the resort and the decor inside is a nice touch. From about 10pm to 11pm it’s a pretty nice vibe as they have a live DJ but the place empties out pretty quick once he leaves.
Overall this hotel has a lot of good and a lot of bad. I think that if you go into a trip here knowing that everything isn’t going to be perfect then you’re going to have a good time.

Ocean Coral Spring: Not worth going back.
The grounds were very beautiful but the beach was the worst beach I've ever seen in Jamaica. The pool was very nice but not enough umbrellas. The water park had no shade for the children which is bad for kids being out in the hot sun and not enough water flowing down the slides so the kids didn't enjoy it as much, I was informed of all of that from friends that had children. The rooms were nice but the bar was not stocked as much as it should be. The male staff was very nice but only a handf[... read more]ul of the female staff was nice. A lot of the waitresses were not friendly and did not smile. And the hotel was under staffed. I was not impressed of the menus of the alacart restaurants and was shocked to find that I could not go into the restaurants and the beach on the Ocean Edan side. At least at Palladium I can go either on the Lady Hamilton or Palladium Jamaica side. And the air conditioning was off for 3 days. My wife and I are not going back, we would rather go back to Palladium.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Disappointing visit
The Royalton is a located in a beautiful part of Jamaica. This was our third visit and I have to say it was very disappointing. The hotel standards has definitely fallen. Having.paid for an ocean view, we were located next to the noisy hotel pool. We had to insist that we wanted another room. The service was slow, we had to make several calls to front desk to have our fridge refilled. Finally, we had to deal with a leaking AC, with water overflowing into our room. All in all not a good week. [... read more]I didn't feel the offer of a bottle of wine as an apology was sufficient for all the inconvenience we dealt with.

Riu Montego Bay: Good resort!
The hotel offers spacious rooms, clean facilities, good pools & a good fitness center. We felt that some of the facilities closed too early. The pools would close by 6 pm which we felt was too early. The pool towels would run out by middle of the day and would not get replenished. Overall, a good property. The Neon party was great entertainment.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Good Not Great
Staff were awesome. Room was really nice but our air conditioning wasn't working properly (26-27 degrees), they said it was resolved, it wasn't. Food was alright, beach was okay, pool was great. I think the reviews are skewed, they had people come around to scan a qr code to leave a review. I wouldn't return but all in all it was a nice resort.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Nice Resort
We stayed at the resort last week. The resort was very nice
Our room was amazing. The service was fantastic and the food was very good. I did not enjoy that there was not a dinner buffet. Restaurants were full every night. Very difficult to get in unless you ate very early. I did not appreciate the constant upsell at the resort. I will not return due to the amount of drugs being sold on the beach. The locals are literally standing around while you are tanning or in the water. They offer weed, [... read more]gummies and cocaine. This was the biggest turnoff. The security did nothing to deter it. They were very rude to the young girls on the beach. There were many couples that felt the same way and will not return.

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Repeat Guests
We have been to this hotel many times--- the staff are amazing and we always look forward to seeing them. The front desk manager is amazing and always ensures we get our favourite bungalow. The hotel is currently sharing a manager with the other 2 Decameron resorts in Montego Bay so never available to guests. The food selection and prepartaion was uch better this visit than our last two visits. The one major complaint is the entertainment- the entertainment crew are young and not particularly [... read more]talented. There is a lot of guest participation in the evenings and not much
Jamaican entertainment. Also the Columbian Dancers pertorm - imderstand the hotel is operated by Columbians, but not fond of the dancers
The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and the individual cottages are the big draw-- We have already booked for Christmas and look forward to seeing friends again Please note, our travel agent, Susan Snider does an amazing job for us and we adore her!!!

Ocean Eden Bay: Will never go back! My husband and I had such high hopes
TLDR: This resort is NOT safe or secure! Do NOT trust the staff. Do NOT trust that the safe in your room is secure. If you are currently at, or going to this resort, keep ALL your valuables on you at all times and not in your room! Search these reviews for keyword "security"
Full story: We arrived on a Sat evening. The instant we arrived, staff were on us immediately about buying things. I was not even checked in yet and some lady was pressuring us with sales and demanding we attend a breakfa[... read more]st meeting the following morning so they could "make their commission". I politely declined the breakfast meeting, stating I was on vacation and not making appointments. The following morning the same woman called our room and woke us up before 8 am asking us to meet her in the lobby for the meeting. We declined again and were later forced to go to the lobby to tell her to leave us alone the rest of the trip.
On the Wednesday of our trip, while getting ready to go for lunch, two men knocked on our door saying "room service" and before we could even get to the door to answer, they let themselves into our room. Upon seeing my wife, one man was visibly startled and immediately stated they had the wrong room and left. I exited the room and took photos of these men. They were NOT in uniform and did NOT have any room service items with them. One man left as soon as I came out and took his picture, the other was photographed speaking/coordinating with our cleaning lady. Our room had already been cleaned, mini bar stocked and no room service was ordered.
After their departure, our keys no longer worked on our door. We had them reprogrammed TWICE and they still didn't work. We reported the incident and we were immediately getting the brush off from management saying they don't know how long it would take to get security to speak to and fill a report but it could be a long time. I demanded to speak to security and said I would wait. When security eventually walked us to our room, even THEIR keys would not open our room and they were forced to remove the access panel and bypass the lock. They stated several times that it was a "coincidence" that our lock was no longer working IMMEDIATELY after two strange men (who security admitted were not employees after seeing my photos) let themselves into our room.
The security officer told us that if we felt unsafe, we could change rooms and I asked what the point would be if they have access to any room they want? The security officer said we should put our belongings in the room safe and I asked her to check her resort's google reviews because we just had while waiting for her, and several of them state people have had items stolen from their safes. (This is beyond the fact that resort staff have the ability to open safes for guests who forget their codes) The security officer stated guest services would be in touch with us, but nobody ever said a word to us about this on a customer service level.
After this incident, we made sure to keep our valuables with us, to include our credit cards. We then began leaving the "do not disturb" sign on our door and discretely marking the door to know if it had been opened. Of course, we later found that people had again been in our rooms late in the evening on the Thursday!
Every single staff member we spoke to about this incident did not seem surprised by the intruders at all! Several other guests from our particular building that we spoke to also got locked out of their rooms ON THE SAME DAY! More "coincidences"?!
Beyond the security issues, the service from staff is hit or miss. Sales pressure is near constant as you walk around the resort.. from your standard excursions and meal upgrades etc, to all kinds of staff, including grounds keepers, trying to sell me drugs (one guy even followed me into the bathroom) and lifeguards trying to sell us a floaty.
I will NEVER come back to this resort. This whole experience makes me want to avoid the whole country moving forward. Vacation is supposed to be fun, not scary.
DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Changed
Iberostar continues to keep the hotel up to date and overall clean. The noise at night is too much. Outside entertainment starts at 9:30 beside the pool. Food is good still. Staff is excellent still. Used to have butler service for everyone. Too many beach sellers at waters edge. Selection of red and white wines could be a notch or two better. Scotch selection used to be better. Would we go back ???

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Resort exceeded expectatioms
First impression as I stepped into the Lady Hamilton Lobby "Wow". The colonial motif and grandeur of the lobby and resort blew me away. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The resort shuttle dropped me off at my villa and the driver escorted me to my room.
The resort buildings are showing a little wear and tear. Overall though they are very well maintained. The grounds are also very well kept. Gardners and maintenance staff were always present. I had to call maintenance once to assist with[... read more] the lock on my suite door. They came quickly to my suite and resolved the issue post haste.
Maps and signs are abundant and made navigating around the resort a snap. The Palladium app which was downloaded and set up for me at check-in was great. I used it often.
My first impression as I entered my Junior Suite - was " nice". The room was a very nice size and the ocean view from my balcony was a pleasure to view in the mornings as I drank the wonderful Blue Mountain coffee. My housekeeping person Melonie was wonderful. I had forgotten something (toothpaste) and asked her if she could help and she did.
The spa exceeded my expectations. The treatments I had and the hydrotherapy were wonderful. I was glad that I took advantage of the special.
The entertainment was excellent and varied. The night shows were top-notch. My favourites were: the Las Vagas, Bob Marley Tribute, and the Circus.
The staff was exceptional and friendly. They made my stay even more pleasurable.
Overall, I found the buffet and ala carte restaurants to have a pleasant atmosphere, good food, and great service. I enjoyed the Jamaican and Caribbean dishes served at the buffets. My favourite buffet place was the Blue Lagoon. Who would not want to eat on the patio overlooking the pool while listening to the live music? At the El Dorado ( steak) restaurant, I requested a coffee and my server went out of her way to get me what I had asked for - an americano. Now that is great service. I appreciated that they waited to find out if what I had ordered was cooked to my specifications - it was. The two Jerk huts beachside had wonderful Jerk Chicken and Pork. Very popular as the lines attested.
My favourite coffee place was Miss Lou's. Too bad the piano was broken at the time of my visit. I could easily see myself enjoying a late-night coffee there while listening to the piano.
Only two minor drawbaks tick out. None of the bars on the resort served the Jamaican Dragon Stout or Ginger Beer. I did find them in the gift store eventually. The first night at the bar I asked for a common cocktail called Dark and Stormy (made with Ginger Beer) and was told they could not make it for me. That did not detour me from partaking in the other wonderful cocktails they made. Every day was a new one to try.
Overall a wonderful experience.
