Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Getaway

My husband and I just got back from a weeks vacation at the Riu Palace Paradise Island. It was our first time in an adults only resort and found that it was a nice change. The resort itself was smaller then other Riu's we have been to but on the plus side it was very easy to access Restaurants etc... We were on the 15th floor and we had a partial Ocean view which was beautiful to wake up to in the morning. I also enjoyed being able to hear the sound of the ocean from our room. The beach was beau [... read more]tiful but did have some rough water days where you could still enjoy the view and then cool off in the pools. The pool bar was a lot of fun and had a great view of the Ocean. We very much enjoyed the service at the beach where you could get an umbrella and chairs set up for you anywhere you like. This was a nice touch. The staff were very helpful and made an effort to make sure you enjoyed your stay with the exception of the Entertainment staff. I have been to many resorts and unfortunately have to say they were the worst. Considering that this is what they are paid for I couldn't help but get the impression that they did not want to socialize with the guests and showed no enthusiasm.The other cons would be the coffee shop needs to be open in the morning. Prime time when people want coffee. In closing we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this resort for it's beach, rooms, cleanliness and service.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Melina Nassau Beach

The resort itself was lovely. It was also huge. Too large for us, but perfect for people without ailments. Breakfast was great in the Buffet, lunch was good in the outside BBQ grill, but the dinner buffet was bad, the Italian restaurant was OK and the Mexican restaurant was good. I would recommend this hotel, but not again for us. Also, check-in time was 3:00pm, but we couldn’t get our room until after 4:00.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Best View Ever

The beach is stunning, the view from our room was the most beautiful I have ever had. However, the service at this resort is lacking and the rooms are very outdated. I don't go on vacation to spend time in my room so this really wasn't a huge deal to me. The rooms were cleaned daily and smelled very clean. The housekeeping staff were so friendly and welcoming. The wait staff in all of the restaurants and the bars were the exact opposite of friendly or welcoming. I was very disappointed in their  [... read more]attitude and lack of service. I also was annoyed at the fact that they kept running out of drinks during our stay. And not just specialty drinks, the pool bar ran out of beer and the restaurants ran out of coke and good luck if you wanted a mojito. I forget what dish we ordered at the Japanese restaurant but they ran out of that too. Also, there is no night life, we had to leave the resort for that. I had a wonderful time because of the people I was with, the weather and the gorgeous surroundings.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Would not go back

It was ok.... beach was beautiful!! Rooms where ok nothing special but clean. Hallways where dirty and smelled!!! There was NO service !!! It was horrible. We spoke to a few guests who stayed there and felt the same. Food is ok 👍🏼. Nothing fancy but nothing to complain about just if you asked for something you could tell they did not want to do it and they oftenly forgot about you ! Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Not good!

I was actually very disappointed. What I was most disappointed about was the lack of customer service and organization. Every single day the bars ran out of items early in the day; mint leaves, pre made pina colada, water, beer...who runs out of beer?!! The food was VERY limited, about 20 choices at the buffet. The a la cart restaurants can only be booked two days ahead, service was EXTREMELY slow and served without a smile, and the food was very very dry. Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: amazing resort for a 3 star

the grounds clean and beautiful the rooms are clean and comfort the people very friendly the food very good and lots of food to pick from i would go again back in a heartbeat the weather was beautiful very hot with little rain wow the beach is very white sand and clean great trip.

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Excellent Family Resort

Resort was simple, clean and well laid out. The rooms were dated (gardenview) but were clean and most importantly everything worked as expected. There were lots of activities for both kids and adults alike - you can be as active or laid back as you would like. The beach was gorgeous with a wide frontage before the water and the ability to walk in either direction for a while. Beach chairs were always available no matter what time of day you wanted to go to the beach - no towel games! The food in the buffet was of good quality and we enjoyed visiting both the Pizza and Gourmet restaurants as well. The snack bar at the beach was nice to visit for a quick lunch and was popular with the kids. Our only complaint was that the pool and beach bar could be very busy on the weekends when the cruise ship had people visiting the resort for a daily or overnight visit. We would recommend this resort for families with elementary aged children but not for couples looking for a week away in an exotic location. We felt that we received excellent value for the money spent (compared to 4 to 4.5 star resort in Cuba) and would return without hesitation!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Best Bang For Your Buck!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Riu Palace, Paradise Island from March 25th - April 1st. The hotel is modern and clean. We definitely enjoyed the food and the buffet had a ton of options. The wine was especially good but bring your own mug when it comes to the beer, since the cups are really small. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a situation one night where some guys were up late, partying and smoking weed. Once we approached the manager (Nicolas) he immediately switched us to a differ [... read more]ent floor without hesitation. He was extremely professional and we really appreciated his actions. The beach was amazing, but just ignore the locals who are constantly trying to sell you products/excursions. Location was amazing, since it is right beside the Atlantis hotel. We walked over almost everyday. Felt very safe walking into town, as well. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: quiet resort

small hotel.easy to navigate. unfortunately no lobby bar..only bar was in the disco. no gift shop in hotel, only one across the street which closed at 9ish.. food was really good and hotel was clean!

Breezes Bahamas: Great time in Bahamas!

Overall, we had a great time but there were some things that could be improved. The resort itself needs to be updated. The decor is old, roof needs to be done etc. We upgraded our room to oceanfront instead of the oceanview we originally had and it was definitely worth it. The no tipping policy was great but unfortunately the staff seemed less motivated and the service was not as good as other resorts where tipping is allowed. No surprise though. I wish they had a tea/coffee area for guests. The beach was amazing!!!!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great location and impeccable service

I was worried when I read the pre renovation reviews that this place may not have been for us. The service from the staff and people in general in the Bahamas was the best we have received in any of the Caribbean countries we have been to. From cleaning to wait staff and staff off site during our excursions and taxi drivers. The hotel is beautiful. Food was great. Pool and beach were great as well. This wasn’t an issue for us as there is often a wait at home for a specialty restaurant. That said they could simplify the process by taking reservations. The only thing we could fault was entertainment at night at the resort. Mind you you are next to Atlantis ( 1-2 min walk at most) so it may not be worth the investment as many people leave to take in the Atlantis. At Atlantis there is a comedy club and a casino. Also multiple restaurants,bars, and shops to see in the hotel and the marina village. We felt safe at night. Great water park and aquariums during the day Thanks to the Riu for a great visit.

Breezes Bahamas: Great resort if you are on a budget

Having been to multiple all-inclusive across the Caribbean this location gives you a lot of bang for your buck! We were looking for an inexpensive girls get away and that what we got! The location is close to the airport and the layout of the resort is great. Not a large property so convenient to get around and other than one very busy day chairs were available at beach every day and no line-ups in the buffet. No balcony was a disappointment Also there are no fridges in the room and a lack of easily accessible drinking water was a concern. You had to go to the bar for water and when it was closed there was no place to get water? This resort caters to March Break students and with the heat and the alcohol consumption I think this resort really needs to look at solution for this matter!

Breezes Bahamas: Value for what we paid !!! absolutely

Breezes is indeed an older resort The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable , very disappointed that there were no Balconies, nor fridges and water available in rooms. Beach and Pool were both wonderful . No issues with chairs being available even with the resort being full. The staff at the bars and beach BBQ work very hard for hours with no slow time . Managements needs to be made aware to staff up to accommodate when they are fully booked. Entertainment staff kept all busy that wanted to be involved from morning to evening . Excellent !!!! Now the only complaint I have is .The resort caters to spring breakers . The young people were honestly not a bother to me nor the group I was travelling with . On the last night we were there a young lady had too much to drink and pass out on the floor in the lobby bar . She was vomiting every where and all over herself. No one knew her name or room number . It took a few of us tourists to demand that management call an ambulance and have this young lady looked after . after putting her in a wheel chair and placing her in the front lobby for all to see , finally her room was found and she was taken to her room . But we still slept un easy as was this young lady alright ?? we do not know . If resorts are catering to spring breakers they need to have processes in place to handle such events . Would I recommend this resort ABSOLUTLY Would I book again with Kevin at Trip central Absolutely. Kevin has been booking our trip for several years now and I will continue to call him and I have recommended Him to several friends looking to travel . .

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: just okay

We had been watching different hotel prices for awhile, and the Melia dropped to 2200 per person, we thought this was a steal of a deal and jumped on it. We were wrong. In our opinion this is not a four star hotel. We had a basic room, which was fine, the balcony is small, But the beds were TERRIBLE!! The most uncomfortable bed I have been on in a long time. The buffet is not good, the food is cold, listen to the bad reviews. By the time you get to your seat the food is luke warm at best. I suggest gettting an omelette in the morning, cause thats the only hot food you get. The other food is good tho, the beach bar, and barbeque were amazing, and we went to the italian restaurant twice and loved it. The pools and beaches are very nice, and can usually find a chair. The staff is mostly really amazing aswell. All in all this resort is ok, but i would never pay that price again for it. for 1500 a person it would be more resonable.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Time Lovely Resort

this was our 3rd time at the Riu, first time since the Reno's, they have done a great job clean clean clean, food was very good, Steak house was not our favorite everything over cooked potato wedges were the best . Loved the India Restaurant , not to spicey so go for anyone just trying India for first time. Buffet had great assortment of food, Pools were little cold but Great pool bar, ALL STAFF WERE AMAZING

Breezes Bahamas: Great resort!

Breezes was a perfect resort to spend our five day vacation. The resort was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were super comfy. We were only a 20 minute bus ride to downtown Nassau for sightseeing and shopping, and a 5 minute walk to the casino next door. The beach was beautiful. We would definitely stay there again.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: A Wonderful Couples Resort

A very beautifully and clean resort to stay for our my wife and I second vacation since being married... I loved that the staff greeted us with sample drinks upon our arrival. The check in process was fast, friendly and received our room keys within 5 mins despite the long line. Lobby: clean brightly lit and spacious with a nice ambiance, to let you know this will be a very relaxing place to be off the bat. Elevator service was great at off peak hours meaning...after 10am and late nights...  [... read more]we had to decided to take the stairs to get downstairs at one point becuz it was too crowded. Within our 4 day stay... at least 1 elevator was down... this happened twice. It is clear the elevators give them alot of issue but it doesnt take away from the place at all. Room: Clean, no molds, 4 free liquor dispensary bottles located behind a cabinet will be at your disposal including beer and refrsshments in the lower fridge. All public areas, were kept clean, no birds tryna steal the food off the ground or table and no selling of products from locals on the grounds as well. Bar Staff: knows how to mix drinks and do not hold back on the liquor either...nothing is watered down... i loved the pina colada and miami vice with peach snapps(yuuuummmm). Dinning in main buffet area was amazing... if you dont want to sample other restaurants...trust!! The main one will do... The desserts were fresh and fruits fresh as well...no bugs in site. Waiting staff: are slow to come to the table!!! Save time by bringing your cup of juice or water to the table when you sit down to eat. Beach staff: they were seen putting out the chairs n putting them back at the end of the day...i thought that this was an extra nice thing though because people could get up early mornings and run in the beach without tripping over chairs. Riu Palace Paradise Island: The Best Time Ever!!!

We were so impressed with not just the hotel , but the food the Staff the grounds were amazing. This was the best time we have had on a trip yet, and are already planning our next years trip back. Nothing negative AT ALL to say. My Husband and I are truly thankful to have been able to visit and will be back.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Amazing stay

This resort is clean and the rooms as well(loved our room). We had amazing views. The food was “ok”. Service was excellent(Christine was the best, she took care of all of her guests with love and care). She went out of her way to make my birthday a special day. Also,the concierge sent a brithday cake and wine to our room. This made me feel so happy, special and at home. I loved it all and i will definitely go back.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great until food poisoning

My husband and I stayed at the Riu paradise Island in Bahamas last week - booked through Sunwing. The resort was lovely and we had fantastic service and no issues until our return home. We left the resort at 6:30 last night to go to the airport for our flight home at 10:45 pm I started feeling ill on the bus ride to the airport and vomited at the airport once every 1/2 hour for the next 4 hours. Our flight was delayed an hour. My husband talked with other passengers and found out that there wer [... read more]e at least 5 or 6 others on the plane that came from Riu who were also sick. When we landed in Toronto airport an hour late we quickly went through customs and then had to wait an 1 1/2 for our luggage. I am not normally one to complain but will not be returning
