Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful spot

The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was, for the most part, awesome. We had one server at the breakfast buffet that sighed when I asked for a mochaccino. Food, again, for the most part, was awesome. We were disappointed that when we were booking restaurants, the only time available was 8pm but when we walked by at 6:00 the tables were almost empty. The dessert was no better. The brownie was dry and if it weren't for the ice cream would have been totally inedible. The pools are not heated so when the temps were on the cool side, you could not get in the pool as it was freezing. So overall, it was decent. It was our second time going to the barcelo but it will probably be a while before we go back.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Adult All-Inclusive!

The Yucatan Princess made for a fun relaxing trip. The resort is lovely and clean and I can not say enough about the friendly staff- it truly felt like home there. The restaurant and food selection was great. We took our adult sons and wives and were hoping there was enough for them to do, being younger and more adventurous! From the shows to paddle boarding, wildlife, foam party and great beach - we all had a blast! Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: A little disappointing!

Regarding the Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa, there were good features and some not so good features. This resort is older and unfortunately it needs quite a bit of maintenance to upgrade it. Tiles are broken throughout the resort. Pools are stained yellow. Rooms are old designs. Water pressure in bathrooms very low. The good points are the restaurants. Buffet was good although not large enough to accommodate everyone for lunch when it rains. Choice of food was great! Only went to one of t [... read more]he à la carte restaurants which was very good. And I heard very good comments from other guests regarding some of the others. Staff mostly were great! Drinks very good depending on the bar. Pools were cold due to weather being on the colder side this year. My husband and I chose to upgrade our room due to the lack of niceness or newness to our room which was very pricey! Because of upgrade, we were Preferred guests which really didn’t give much. We were able to use a preferred beach section which didn’t even have a nice section of beach. Beach was very rocky! Also we were able to go to one of the à la carte restaurants for a catered breakfast. All in all, this resort was not 4 star or higher and pricey.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Very dissatisfied

The staff were not very friendly. I would usually get wine with dinner, but wouldn't relieve it until after dinner Supposed to be all inclusive, but the housekeeping wanted to charge me to fill up my mini bar. The beach was very tiny, and we had a Karen on the beach. She yelled at people that she owned her room on the beach and no one was allowed near her. The lifeguard was more interested in his phone then keeping an eye on guests, he also liked to pick his nose while sitting there. Lifeguard also blew his nose and spit in the shower outside that you use to wash off sand. A waitress blew her nose in a napkin, and then polished a cup with the used napkin. Also didn't even wash her hands. Very disgusted with this place. I feel like I lost my money and I really didn't want to stay the seven days I couldn't wait to get home. Dont waste your money here.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Very nice resort

Everything about this resort was great. The room was perfect and the grounds are beautiful. Staff was pleasant and efficient. The food wasn’t the best. I would go back again. The fact that this was all part of a gated community made it feel very safe

Definitely 5 star resort! Beautiful grounds, fantastic service, great staff, amazing food and entertainment. Only one consideration: the hotel has no policy regarding lounge appropriation at the pool. Consequently, some couples put their belonging on 4 chairs, 2 in the shade and 2 in the sun all day thus creating a lack of chairs if you don't go out by 7:30 in the morning and do likewise. This situation should be monitored and a policy devised to allow all to be accommodated.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Average All inclusive Resort

The hotel is a little dated but is generally in good condition. The buffet was reasonable but light on bacon, and they always had some stuff to make tacos, but never all in one place. The kids program was great. The beach access wasn't that good because we couldn't eat at the Akumal beach area so we couldn't stay there all day and the beach sand was a little rough. I was told that I had access from Coba to the Tequila restaurants, but we weren't able to access them. Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: Disappointed

Colonial - Disappointing The beach in front of the Colonial/Kantenah is beautiful as is the pool area. The rooms are dated, we had our room door left open by cleaning staff which was unacceptable; luckily our belongings were fine and the safe untouched. The buffet food was cold at times and the variety from day to day was lacking. They had two great a lacartes; the Japanese and the Steak House which we enjoyed. The beach bar was washing the plastic cups by spraying quickly putting them back into the rotation as the beach waiters quickly went around and picked up the empty cups from the guests. That doesn’t sit well especially at a time of viruses etc. Cleanliness was not always trustable. Overall it was a disappointing experience given it was a third visit based on more enjoyable shows and better food and overall service. The evening shows were few and far between; although they did have some kiddie shows at 8:00 a few Nights.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort and staff.

Great resort, landscaping and staff. After staying here at the Grand Coba at least 5 times over the last 20 years, the food quality has diminished with several food stations empty and the same food selections daily. Al Le carte restaurants are near impossible to book as members of the more expensive resorts on the property are allowed advanced bookings prior to arrival. We were only able to book 2 out of the less popular al le cartes out of 4 on our 10 day holiday visit. That said we still en [... read more]joyed the resort and staff during our stay.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great family resort

Great family resort with lots to do for kids. We were busy from morning until night. We stayed in the family section, which was further in the back offering more tree areas. This provided lots of entertainment from the monkeys in the trees. A truly unique experience and a highlight for us. Our accommodations were one of the renovated areas. We had a king bed and bunkbeds which were sufficient. The main buffet was standard resort food. The Mexican buffet was really good. The staff work extremely hard to keep it clean and it shows. The grounds were spotless, considering there was wildlife all around us. We really liked the fact that our room key was our bracelet. One less thing to worry about. The pools were ice cold. Literally felt like you were swimming in ice cubes. Overall, it was a wonderful family holiday for us. We would recommend this resort as a family resort not a party resort. Lots of kids.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Get what you pay for

It's warm in the sun, but for cheap. Resort is dated and rooms are musky, there are no umbrellas around the pools so be up at 7 am to save your pool spot under a cabana. Staff friendly, rooms are clean, food is good. Positive is its warmer than at home.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Super Resort

The check in was a bit chaotic and disorganized. The room was super spacious and clean. The resort itself, including all pools, is beautiful, clean, well maintained and people are very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent; buffet and restaurants. The beach was a bit rocky but some parts were fine. I would definitely go back.

Catalonia Yucatan: Great family resort

We went here on our first family vacation with my six-year-old and my 11 year-old and my husband. in terms of the room, they were kept clean and tidy daily but Definately dated it didn’t bother us at all. There was many swimming areas as the two hotels are attached. This ocean was super safe. My husband says that the Mexican was a three out of 10 and had small portions but he is a bigger guy so for the kids and I I found it fine. Porto Ventura is just a walk away. It’s a cute little area with many restaurants. Dolphins manatees and shops. A short drive to Playa Del Carmen, which is always a great visit. But a very safe, clean and fun hotel resorts, especially with the family all in all. I would Rate it 8/10

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Unique resort

Beautiful grounds, natural and well kept. Impeccable service everywhere. Exceptional food and we did not even enter the buffet once! Beach massage wonderful with Lolis. Never too busy. Jungle walk so lovely. Yoga in the mornings!

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Below expectations!

Very nice resort. Nice beach .Clean , quiet .Food was a huge disappointment,about as Mexican as Taco Bell on a bad day . Staff were below what I expected. Communication was a huge problem, language barriers.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Lovely Resort

Our building location was ideal. They put us in the adult only section of the resort, close to the infinity pool, overlooking the beautiful carribean sea, and only steps from the adult only restaurant Katook. Food - The food was not great. The buffet dishes were cold, some food items not fresh and dishes were not replenished in a timely fashion. Beautiful, laid back adults only experience, with fantastic food - and a stunning beach. Super friendly staff and gorgeous grounds in the jungle, animated by lively Coati (and other mammals, marsupials and even an occasional monkey!) Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: So terrible follow up

Hotel was good services sucj as cleaning, foods and so on except paymemt currency. they signed on us and mxn pesso but accept only mxn pesso. it is not clear. there's no mentioned mxn only. thw worst thing is not about hotel service. trip central didn't quick response about flight cancel due to snow storm. I understood the situation but I lost almost 2 days. my departue was jan 26 8:30 am. actual depatrue was jan 27 aroumd 1pm even 1 stop at Montreal. your agent suggested it might be extend on [... read more]e day, not my request. he said it could be accepted by hotel or denied. it took 2 to 3 business day.
