Staff 6 stars. Beach 6 stars! Ocean 6 stars!. Bars 5 stars. Rooms 4 stars (I had a renovated one). Activities 3 stars. Entertainment 3 stars. Don't come here to party: couples 60 to 80 year olds. Restaurants are the problem; the main buffet food is sketchy and irregular. Great omelettes for breakfast but no bacon. Lunch and dinner: no decent beef, lamb inedible, pork variable. Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: We had a wonderful time as a family

The facilities were top notch, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was better than expected and we always had more than enough to eat. The sports bar was a nice place to hang out in the evening. I would say I didn't enjoy some of the song choices that the dj's played in the afternoon... some songs had lyrics that were very inappropriate for a family resort but when I asked to change the song they obliged. There weren't any te [... read more]nnis rackets to play tennis.Our room for our family looked over the neighbouring adult only resort and they were very loud with their music, we probably should've asked for a quieter room but it didn't bother us enough to ask to change. Overall a wonderful relaxing time. I miss my morning coffee in the beautiful lobby bar and of course the most beautiful beach I have been too!

Sol Cayo Coco: All Is Well At The Sol

February 2025 First time to Sol Cayo Coco, We have been to other resorts on Cayo Coco but feel the Sol is the best, The staff are amazing, friendly and go above and beyond to help, too many to name and I do not want to miss anyone. We loved that it is a small resort with paved ramps for those with mobility issues and everything is close in proximity. There is also a path to a small beach past the rock cliff that is part of Sol. No shortages of food. We had lots to eat and a good variety. Buffet had grill station with beef, chicken, fish, mussels, sometimes pork chops and clams; also pasta station,on 2 different nights we had turkey also,salad fixings,cold cuts and hot trays of vegetables,beef stew ( delicious), etc. All the beef was tender( the first time we have experienced this in Cuba). For us lunch was at the pool snack bar which served pizza, hamburgers, fries and grilled ham and cheese. Ala carte's were Cuban and Mediterranean. Both were good. Our room was on ground floor with nice balcony. Was renovated, had walk in shower, comfortable bed ( new pillow top Mattress). Lots of hot water. the Cayos have their own power so no outages. Entertainment was good. Liked the outdoor covered stage area. Especially enjoyed the night the organ grinder provided the music in the lobby area and the young lady playing the saxophone . We didn't care for the nights that it was in the disco as the sound seemed distorted and loud. The guests from Canada and other countries were very friendly and always ready for a chat or to answer questions. Definitely will return to the Sol.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Best hotel ever!!

I was at the gran muthu imperial Cayo Guillermo for 2 months - January and February 2025 and am so impressed with this hotel - and really disappointed when I see bad reviews. Being there for so long I was able to see how hard this hotel worked to compensate for things outside of their control - food shortages for example. There were times that there were no potatoes but they subbed with banana chips - or bacon but subbed with sausage. Once there was a pork shortage but they upped the seafood [... read more] selection. Cuba is a beautiful country with beautiful people and beaches - the hotel was super clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The pools were beautiful but cold!! (Still swimmable). Understandable as this time of year is their winter as well - however toward the end of February, the pools were a lot warmer. The tourists, often, were disrespectful, condescending and rude - but this was never reciprocated by the staff - I will definitely be back for another 2 months next year. Definitely worth the money.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great Family Resort

Great family beach vacation! The beach is amazing, the most beautiful I have ever seen. Wonderful staff and very clean. The food was very good for Cuba. My kids who are very picky eaters ate all week and always found something they liked. We were at the resort during Quebec’s spring break so the resort was full and there seemed to be lacking staff at the buffet, snack bar and bars. So you needed to be patient often. Also unfortunately people reserve places at the pool and the beach early in th [... read more]e morning so if you go later than 7:30 am there are no more places available. The resort should really not allow people to reserve places they are not using. We saw places saved with not seeing a single person come during the whole day. Very frustrating. But I would go again, and suggest it to a friend.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Excellent resort

This is a very excellent resort , clean grounds great pools good food and drinks. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Very quiet surroundings beach was nice and easily accessible. Snack bar was good a la cart restaurants were very good

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Beautiful resort

This resort is very clean and well maintained. Lovely beach to swim and walk on. Pools crystal clear. Room was well appointed and bed very comfortable. Food was fine, the two BBQ nights the food was good and à la carte restaurants the two I tried were good. Hotel was not terribly busy the time we went it was only 33% full so the farther out restaurant was only serving drinks. We did have no hot water a few days but Air Canada compensated us for that.

Sanctuary White Sands: Beyond Beautiful Resort

Everything about this resort was miracle. We were staying building #1 it was abit of a walk to the beach but we didn't mind it. More steps! Rooms were beautiful, food was amazing. Beach was paradise. 7 days of heaven. Guests were disrespectful by leaving the beach towels at the beach chairs for next day. Very selfish! Also FYI Noone asked us for proof of medical Insurance. It's a scam! Reisy at the beach was the best! We will definitely return back.

Hotel Playa Coco: Hotel Playa, Cayo Coco

Yet again, we have lived an excellent experience. From beautifully maintained grounds, to amazing people, more food than we could eat, all spirits available and exceptionally clean living quarters. As repeat guests we are also provided with a privileged supper which is as usual, an amazing evening.

Valentin Cayo Cruz: Valenti Cayo Cruz

Didn’t like the smoking in the lobby and not enough evening shows. The resort was beautiful and the staff was great. The rooms were nice and cleaning staff was lovely. Front desk and bar staff were great . Food was what I expected for Cuba.

Melia Costa Rey: Nice Resort and beach stay from Feb 26 to March 5th

The Melia group has done a lot of work to the grounds and the buildings. A lot of the staff are still there from the Pullman days. The beach area is amazing the seaweed is removed every morning. There's lots of shade on the beach. The lobby bar has good cappuccino and drinks. The bar staff are very pleasant and a lot of fun to be around. There's two beach bars for the family side. The day before we left they started to have grills for the lunch time. The food was very good.We spend our tim [... read more]e at the Sunrise beach bar it was a little more peaceful at this location. The buffet was very good with lots of variety and lots of eggs. They didn't have bacon at the family side or the adult side. The beef wasn't very good, very tough. The coffee wasn't very good rarther weak.The service was excellent at We went to the Cuban,Italian and Japanese restaurant all three where good. Thanks to Susan Sinder, our agent, she advised the hotel we were repeat guest. Our room had a beautiful ocean view. We where given a free bottle of rum and a invite to a five course dinner which was surprisingly good . We plan on returning next year again.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Definitely not a 3 or 4 star !

To start with. The people are amazing minus the girls at the front desk. We had a great welcome and check in. But then the trouble started. We had 3 rooms and ind room flooded out coming out of wall. We asked for another room as we couldn't sleep in 3 inches of water. It took us 2 hours to finally get another at midnight. Lots of eye rolling and negativity. Then next day customer service offered us 2 2 suites and the 2nd room had flooded throughout day. So again move. Finally got suites and a 3 [... read more]rd room flooded this time through air conditioner vent. Our safe didn't work. So carried money and passports on us. We never got the free rum promised as air canada has stated. The 2 suites were without any water for 2 full days along with all rooms in that building. Finally water came on but cold only. The last room we were moved into a ocean view basic but no hot water for 2 days in that other building. Everytimexwe went to desk it was promises of tomorrow and nothing. We watched many people complain. One guy was 4 days with no water in his room. The food was good and plenty of, the pool was good and quiet and beach beautiful. They do not chsnfe your bedding at all in the 8 days and you also do NOT get fresh towels ever. We used the same towel for 8 days. The coffee shop never ever opened when we were there and the one restaurant al la carte never opened either. They had wild boars running around at night. Entertainment was good and drinks were okay. I never complain about food or drink as you expect that as CUBA. We asked for all 3 rooms in same building but never ever got and we had requested thru trip central. We made do without buns, bread, or any rolls for 4 days as they didn't have but again cuba so it was fine. All in all we survived other than the 3 different rooms we had to change 3 times each. The girls at the desk need some coaching how to treat customers and quit with the attitude and broken promises.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Melia Jardines del Rey

Since Tryp needed to close to repair air conditioning issues, we ended up at Melia Jardines del Rey. The bright light there is the Air Transat rep, Yamin. She was fantastic, solving SO many problems and quickly. She deserves a raise and a commendation. The hotel staff are lovely, fun, and welcoming, typical of Cuban hospitality. Cuba may have issues but regardless of their problems, they are friendly, warm and decent human beings, who work long hours, six days a week. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Do your research

Line ups for eggs -breakfast are too long 35-45 minutes waiting for an egg . That was not a pleasant way to start yhe morning. There was bread 4 days out of 7 and the toaster does not work properly, took about 7 minutes to toast a piece of bread after waiting 20 minutes for the toaster on a average , while you wait for the bread to toast you get the evil eye from the line ups … honestly that was a deal breaker. Staff was friendly specially the cleaning ladies . They work non stop will the managers get them some mops please!!! Unfortunately we witnessed this older gentleman screaming at the staff prior to opening the buffet at lunch time .. it made me wonder if the management needs improvement? Food was ok , but lacked in so many basic ways I get it that’s Cuba but I have had by far way better food in Cuba than at this resort. Entertainment was great . Beach stunning. Will I return to this resort? No.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Grand Aston

Beautiful grounds and beach is awesome . Waiters and waitresses are great. Food was a little lean for a couple days as they had no bread etc. but got better.this was our second time at this resort and if we go back again will book the club as it is adults only.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful beach but lines ups everywhere

Check in was suppose to be at 4pm however my room was not ready till 5pm. There was line ups everywhere for every food station and drinks also including the buffet. They need a better system absolutely ridiculous when you have to wait and hour in line ups for food. My towels were not changed only on day 6 after multiple complaints and we only had 2 towels for 3 people. I had made the front desk aware on 3 occasions until the 4th time when I became upset and finally got towels. My room was skippe [... read more]d for cleaning on 2 occasions and I was ok with this but wanted our 2 water bottles daily. When I asked the maid she said she had no water bottles left. I went and complained and sure enough I got my water bottles. Basically lied to me as i was there when she took them out of her cart. The entertainment is repetitive. No different theme for the kids disco also. Tip tip tip they will serve those who tip first. Also they need to be mindful of children and my children went several times to get drinks for themselves water and juice and told me they were always skipped and only serving adults. This is a family resort. Only 2 bathrooms that I have seen one near the lobby and the other near the towel station. Long walk when you are spending the day on the ocean to use the bathroom. Better be up at 6am to save a spot by the ocean for the shade spot or else you won’t get a spot ridiculous. People go out early AM put towels on chairs and take off for hours at a time. On a good note the beach was the most beautiful one I have ever been at. The room were nice and cool. The pools were amazing and large enough the infinity pool that it was never crowded. Fresh beach towels daily they always had some. Staff are so friendly to everyone. They always say hi acknowledge you and they are amazing with children.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort would return

The resort is new and modern , very clean , the ground are beautiful and will look even better as it grows. We stayed in the club section adults only . Only shortage was bread for 2 days . Food was good . drinks and coffee were good. beach and pool great.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Trip to Cayo Coco -- Memories of Caribe

The grounds were fine. The buffet was fine. Some days things were missing and back on the next day. Which was ok. Going to the grills and waiting for a few minutes to have something hot was amazing (beef, pork chicken, fish, pasta, rice and eggs). Not that the buffet was cod. A la cartes were good especially Asian that I was able to have a 4 course meal. The service was great in both buffet and a la carte. The rooms were spacious. We had 2 double beds in our first room and then a king b [... read more]ed in our second. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and would keep our rooms up to par. The down fall at this site was that our rooms were booked by one person and we were put in to different buildingds. Not close together. After one night and a day we were put in the same building on the ground floor. Which was good. Then when it was time to take a shower I found out that they did not have hot water in at least 4 towers and are working on it. They agreed to move us to another room in the resort but my wife said no that we moved once and she didn't want to move again . So they gave me a room I was able to go to once a day that I could have a shower. The day excursion to Moron and surrounding areas was awesome to see other parts of Cuba. Also picking up souvenirs and learning some of the history was great. At the resort the public washrooms were no always close by and some didn't have toilet

Melia Costa Rey: Absolutely beautiful resort compliment with fantastic beach location!

Hotel was very well kept thru out and very clean and beautifully relax decorated all around. All hotel personnels are exceptionally friendly and polite. All à la carte was super and presented with delightful dishes from start to finish. Nightly entertainment was well organized and all performances were awesome and nearly perfected.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Resort

The Hotel was good, clean and had good service. Grounds very clean and amazing landscaping. Staff very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was awesome, great shows with very talented performers. Beautiful beaches.
