Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Great resort

The resort overall was great. A few things that I wasnt happy. The music from the theater played too late as we usually had busy tiring days. The waiters at the buffet sometimes didn't ask us if we wanted a drink and took a very long time. The conceirage was not very knowledgable.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great resort!

Stayed at Sunscape in May 2018 with my 26 year old daughter. Well laid out resort easy walking distance to pool, restaurants and beach. 20 minutes from airport. Room check in not till 3 but they store your luggage, so pack your bathing suit and sunscreen in your carry on and start enjoying your vacation as soon as you are there. Buffet restaurant had lots of food choices and the 4 a la cartes were excellent and unlimited to return. Service was excellent. Beach is public so be prepared to have many locals coming up to you trying to sell you things. Only negative - our building #11 was noisy. mainly it was just the partiers coming back from the disco and continuing the party in their rooms or families returning late evening after the show and their kids running and screaming throughout the open concept hallways that was the problem. When you are on vacation, you don’t always consider your actions and how they affect others. Several people we met moved to another building and were very happy with their relocation. We stayed because we were happy with our room location on the 3rd floor and we happened to have wifi in our room. I would definitely go back to this resort. Not sure how or who determines hotel ratings but I think it is definitely 4/4+.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Fabulous resort - fantastic staff

We had a fabulous time. They treated us like royalty- put a banner on our door that said "celebrating an anniversary" on May 12 when we celebrated 40 years of marriage. It seemed like all the staff knew. It was special. We went on an island tour (very informative) at an extra cost and used the free shuttle to Willemstat for a half a day. We snorkeled the beaches, swam in the pools daily, ate at all five restaurants - the food was great. It was all excellent.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Good Resort

I would not advise Canadians to go to this resort, besides the seweed on the beach that they cannot do anything about , they will not take our Canadian dollar and there is nowhere to exchange it at the resort, the one bank machine they have will not accept Canadian cards because it does not have interact plus.

Sunscape Splash: Amazing resort

I returned a few days ago from Sunscape Splash with my Husband and two kids and can we say we are very much missing the resort! Amazing staff, helpful, polite and made you feel at home! Food was great since we love Jamaican food and they had great options for my picky kids! Always easy to find something to eat! Best part for my kids was the water park! The only thing they need to work on is cleaning the rooms and little earlier in the day which I understand is hard with such a large resort and we didn’t always have towels in our room! Had to request them a few times! I would highly recommend this resort for people with children but again it’s great for adults too!

Sunscape Cove: Pleasant stay at Sunscape Cove

The hotel staff were very accommodating and pleasant, they answered any questions I had and made me feel very safe and welcome. The beaches were quite rocky but there were an array of tropical fish that were amazing to see. The resort was very clean and quiet. We stayed only 4 days and did 3 excursions in which were all well organized. The tour guides went above and beyond to point out all the culture and heritage that the areas passing by had to offer. Overall I had a very pleasant stay at Sunscape Cove, Jamaica. I would return again.

Sunscape Cove: A jamazing time!!

Hotel room was beautiful and cleaned every day! Very impressed with the customer service we received while we were there! Hotel was organized and helpful with any questions we had. The views could not be beat! Ocean in front of us and the mountains behind us. Food was ok, buffet not the best but other restaurants were good! Room service was perfect! Friendly serving staff. Sunscape Puerto Plata: Fantastic Resort

Our whole experience from start to finish was superior. We would definitely do it again. The hotel staff were very warm and each and everyone of them always greeted us with a beautiful smile. This has got to be one of our best holidays we ever had.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Beware!

The resort food was terrible, over half of the travel party got sick. Also, the resort allows the locals into use the facility during the day and night. I’ll end this review with a quote from my wife “can we leave I don’t feel safe”... this was at the coffee shop..... Steer clear!

The resort was very clean. They even spent all day raking up the beach. The rooms were very nice. The food was fine. The service in the a la carte restaurants was very slow and the staff on the front desk weren't very friendly or helpful.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Vacation Spot

Enjoyed our stay at Sunscape. Rooms were clean.Service was great.Staff were super friendly.Espically appriciated that no reservations were required at the speciality restaurants. The beach was beautiful--restaurant and bar and bathroom conveniently located for easy access.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Not so Excellente

Resort conveniently located 20 minutes from the airport. Clean, well-kept, over-crowded with inhospitable locals. No shower for two days. No AC for two days. Sporadic power outages. No towel shortage +. Staff very scripted and robotic. Food was fair. Beer was good, cocktails bad. Staff no English. House keeping inconsistent. Pushy vendors at the beach and on resort. Felt like I was trying to be sold something everywhere I went. Loud and rowdy at night. Security non-exsistent. Not a p [... read more]lace for relaxation. Party resort for young adults and locals. Overpriced everything in shops on resort (28$ sunscreen) mall was a hidden gem 5 minutes away. Had issues with front desk. Not polite or courteous to guests. Cafe Coco was excellente. Went to Puerto Plata as a couple seeking a relaxing week away from stress, noise , and the hustle bustle of everyday life. And we endured more of all three in one week at Sunscape than we would at home. We are in our late twenties. Open-minded and dont normally complain. Felt the truth needed to be said. Too many good reviews. If it sounds too good, it probably is. Initially had high hopes for this resort, I will not be returning.

Sunscape Cove: Great experience

I took my 2 kids with me . I'm a single mom. At no time did I feel scared or nervous. All the staff were amazing and the resort kept us busy without having to leave. We would definitely return to the resort and recommend it to others.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Amazing resort

It was perfect. We would not have changed a thing. Great food, great service, friendly staff. The grounds were meticulous. Loved not wearing a bracelet and unlimited a la carte. Our ocean view room was fabulous!!

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Another great vacation in Ixtapa

This was my second time staying at the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico. The food is great, drinks are amazing, staff are helpful/friendly and the place is clean and presentable. The beach at the resort is fantastic and I enjoy the shows they put on for entertainment. My only complaint would be add more seats to the swim up and outdoor bars.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Nice Place to stay!

Overall the stay at Sunscape was enjoyable, with in exception ( food was so-so ). Many had been visiting the resort on a repeat visit. Weather was beautiful, Warm with a soft wind that perfect. Resort was quaint and clean. Overall staff was friendly with a little less hustle than I am used to which is nice at times. except when you really need something (cutlery). Lots of activities and programs to keep children and teens busy and engaged. Food was below expectations at buffet. Not a very large variety and mediocre quality (for example: preparation of BACON and scrambled eggs at breakfast needs a revamp).. Selection at buffet is small and needs a larger variety of desserts. Food at A La Carter restaurants was great, however 2.5 hour wait for food once seated at the Seafood restaurant. View at seafood restaurant was beautiful however still too long of a wait for food. Steakhouse food delicious - a MUST!!! Downside of A La Cartes is no reservations (except Japanese) which results in EXTREMELY long waiting list - so get there EARLY. Sunscape should change this process to reduce disappointment and frustration for customers. However if food is not one of your top 3 "wants" in a resort this is the place to stay . One last great add is getting up early to sit on the beach to watch the cruise ships sail in while the sun rises drinking a latte from the 24 hour Cafe. Resort is welcoming, clean and safe.

Sunscape Cove: Great vacation

The grounds were beautiful and clean. The views and sunsets amazing! We had a couple of issues, but they were minor in the grand scheme of things. The maid didn't come to our room until 5:00 pm each day to clean. This is the time when we would always be heading back to our room to get washed up for dinner. On the first day we discovered our hair dryer in the room was broken. We asked the maid the next day to replace it and we had to ask every day for the next 3 days until we finally receiv [... read more]ed one. On the day we left, the maids were knocking on our door at 11:55 am (check out was noon) to get in the room to clean. We found this strange as, like I said earlier, our room wasn't cleaned until 5:00 pm each day and on the day we arrived, our room wasn't ready until almost 3:30 pm. If you are going with children, please have them be careful on the water slide. Our son took a chunk of skin off his toe going down the slide and we saw a girl being carried with a towel wrapped around her feet and her parents asking how she possibly hurt her feet on the slide.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Average resort it’s a 4-

Grounds beautiful, pools good, beaches are always clean, food average, good service was not consistent and no reservations at Al a carte painful for waiting. Upgrading to VIP at sun Club is a BIG JOKE and nowhere worth the money! Even though it’s not a resort we would go back to and things we didn’t like it was a great vacation. Nathaniel and Juan were excellent around the pool and very hard working. We met great guests, fantastic weather and had lots of fun and laughs!

Sunscape Splash: Wonderful Resort

This place was very clean. The staff were extremely friendly, very clean rooms.Air conditioning worked extremely well in the room. Television has lots of channels to choose from. The food that was offered in the dinning area was good with plenty of choices. The public restrooms were well stocked. Very happy with this resort and staff.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Happy Family Vacation

The resort is very attractive and clean with good staff. We opted for the Sunclub and have mixed feelings about doing that. The Sunclub beach area was nicer and lounges easier to get with shade which was good. My wife and I and my 2 sons and their wives along with my 4 year old granddaughter went on the trip. They first booked our one son, wife and granddaughter in a small room at the other end of the resort and moved them to our building in a larger nicer room late the next day as we had compla [... read more]ined. This was despite having booked 8 months in advance! We were in the same building but not close to each other which we wanted.supposedly we were to have our fridge stocked with beer and soft drinks each day, very inconsistent if not missed entirely...different in each room so no standards. I am not sure this was worth extra money! The restaurants had good food, 4 of them and we ate dinner in each and twice in the seafood restaurant. Because we had a young one we lined up at 6 for the 6:30 opening and easily got the first seating for dinners. The buffet was a large room under a palapa and lots of food with good selection but not great quality. Satisfied your hunger but not much more. Really nice beaches with a breakwall that was a must and it was natural enough and has been there long enough that the fish have inhabited so that it was like a reef so we could snorkel along it, very nice feature. My son went scuba diving about a 15 minute boat ride away right from the resort which he said was good for fish and there was a sunken ship. The pools were all very clean, warm and not crowded at all and lots of them.My granddaughter learned to swim! There was an Explorer's Club for kids that she went to one day and enjoyed it and then she went again and dressed up for the resort's Saturday evening Carnival parade and got to lead it, very exciting for her (and all of us) with the costumes, music and dancing. Over all a very happy family place.
