Awesome!

We really enjoyed the resort, staff and cleanliness. The only disappointment was not being able to visit the other buffet's at the Ambar and Emerald. Other places we have been we have been able to mix our days up at different ones. Although the food was excellent just a change in scenery is always good!

Good resort but not great

Hotel is huge and attached to 4 others ! We stayed at the Punta Cana and it was near the beach and the pool bar but too far from main lobby despite the golf carts traveling regularly! Food pretty good, rooms were large and clean, beds ok, service good, but lack of communication often and better brands of liquor without paying extra! Great Resort!!

This resort is a very clean resort, staff was polite at all times, service when issues arose was taken care of quickly (issues were minor). Pools and beach were nicely taken care of. The Bahia's are a great choice for vacations as I stay with them frequently. Ill be back too!

Wonderful Resort

Although the resort is very big, it still has a cozy feel. The restaurants are great especially the ones by the ocean where there is always a breeze for lunch. The wait staff at the sit-down restaurants however are a bit on the rude side, we have been to many resorts all over and we found the Dominican not very friendly.. Rooms was very nice and spacious and cleaned daily. The night entertainment is hit or miss, the Michael Jackson night was amazing! Your only option after that is the Disco or the Casino. Overall it was a great week!

Beautiful!

The resort was beautiful, clean and so much fun. The staff was friendly and helpful, the evening shows were so cute! The whole resort was spotless! The buffet was fantastic and always different! Amazing time!

Beautiful

Fantastic rooms and great food options LOVED the choice in pools and the bartenders were Hot ! Great choice for a sweet vacation Gran bahia is consistently doing well at every resort I have stayed at highly recommend them

Great food, very welcoming

Got upgraded to the 5 star resort presumably because they were overbooked in the 4 star. Only minus was instead of our king we got 2 doubles..but with so much to do we weren't in our room long........

Great resort

Beautiful grounds very clean friendly staff great food great drinks rooms need a little more care and mattresses need to be updated as not very comfortable air conditioning needs to be much stronger as it was very hot

Fantastic Resort!

This resort exceeded our expectations. The transfer was via a very comfortable coach bus and only about 25 minutes. Check in went extremely smoothly. Our rooms were immaculate and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis often with diplays of hibiscus flowers on the beds and washroom. The grounds were maintained by a small army of people who always had a smile. The food at all the buffets and restaurant was well prepared and fresh daily. Overall this resort was 10 out of 10 and we would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Its alright

The resort itself is beautiful but people that work there are rude never listen to what you say they just get you what they want at the end of the day as in food. Food was not good in general i got my stuff stolen on the pool worth (300$) while i was swimming abd i never got them back. we also found cocraches walking on the table at the sea food restaurant after we finisehd eating it was disgusting we tried talking to the manager but he didnt care. Ok resort

I visited this hotel for a family reunion/celebration and even though we was determined to have a good time there are some stuff that I cannot let go. When we got there it took us about 2 hours to check in, then they gave us rooms 10812 10813.. the balcony faced a swamp area and it smelt like sewer. We had to be moved over to a building#7. I fridge did not work and there was cockroaches in my washroom. My brother-in-law fridge and TV did not work, his sister telephone did not work and the size o [... read more]f the hotel you need the phone to call the rest of your party to let them know where you were at. The web apps to book your a-la-carte did not work neither for your complaints. My brother-in-law went to the front desk to change his US money ( which he got from his bank in Toronto) turns out they did not have smaller bills but they changed his $20.00 US and gave him a counterfeit bill. Then the manager tried to claim my brother-in-law was lying... this was very infuriating. Then there was the occasion of the Caribbean night party which the hotel charged an additonal $15 US for adults and $5.00 for kids. I made friends with another mom who bought her tickets to attend. Turned out when my group went by to the event we all got in free. The manager opened up the door for all to get in since the attendance was very low. My friend then told the manager on check out time that she should not be charged at which time he told her I was lying we did not get in for free and still charged her card $20US. The staff was very friendly however I felt it a bit fustrating since most could not speak or understand basic English like gin and soda or crushed ice. However the loveliest people ever! During our stay one of the pools was fouled and they did not drain the pool just blocked it off and did whatever they did. As for the set up of the place they need a snack bar at one between the 2 pools.. both snack bars was at the beach which made it hard for getting something to eat if you were at the other 2 pools. Entertainment at the pool was poor and there was no floating devices at the pool you had to purchase everything for yourself. I am disappointed since I have been to 2 other Gran Bahia properties and was so happy with it. I will not recommend this location to anyone. Management really needs to get better at this location... Best thing of all was the food and the friendliness of the staff.

Punta cana-Bahia Principe

Well maintained , huge as all Bahia Resorts. Great food, clean big rooms with quiet A/C. Unfortunately, after 8 years in Bahia Resorts , I had to pay for safety box :-(. For so expensive vacation I expected that gratis as in Bahia Principe Coba .

Beautiful Resort

Hotel is big,beautiful and clean.The staff was attentive when you can get their attention cause the resort does have a high volume of tourist.We did have some issues with a really bad smell coming from a swampy area and had to request a different room.Also the bar in the main lobby area closed to early at night and it was such a nice place to hang out but closed way to early for people who did not want to go to the disco or casino.Another thing is that the shows clashed with dinner time so it wa [... read more]s hard fitting it in.All in all it I had a very good time and I love the ambiance of the resort

Nice Location for our Family Trip

The resort was very nice and maintained well during our stay. The service throughout the resort was very good; not exceptional but any issues we had were taken care of. The rooms are a little dated but good enough for a one week stay. The food options were very good but having said that, a fair number from our group did have stomach issues during and after our trip. Biggest disappointment was the beach in Punta Cana itself. Over the last 5 years with the change in tides and winds, the beach is o [... read more]verwhelmed with seaweed every day. The resort does clean it daily but it's a lost cause. 4 Star rating is fair for the resort.

Very nice resort

The things you most in a resort for all there. Rooms, hotels, pools and food were all very nice. I had expected the beaches to be slightly better from comments. The staff were nice but I have been treated to better in the past. The Grand Bahia in Mexico were friendlier. Overall a very nice time.

Top notch resort with friendly staff

We were fortunate enough to get upgraded for free (along with some other folks from our flight). I would go back to the Esmerelda the next time I head over to Grand Bahia. All in all, the resort is huge and fun with some friendly staff. They did a huge celebration for Canada Day which was great.

Great Resort - Amazing Experience!!!

My husband and I went this resort to celebrate our honeymoon in spring 2015. The resort is very well designed, and extremely well maintained. We had an amazing experience from the service provided, the rooms, the food, the pool /beach experience, the entertainment (the one we saw - Michael Jackson impersonation and evening beach party), the overall ambiance... Perfect getaway!!

Beautiful resort! Grounds were well kept. Room was beautiful! We upgraded to the Golden suites and found that it was definitely worth it. Our room was on the third floor. King sized bed. Balcony overlooking the garden. 2 min walk from the beach. Beach was clean, clear turquoise water. Service was great. Nightly entertainment was great, especially the Michael Jackson and the circus shows

Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana

everything was great. Grounds well maintained, staff friendly, food was good---more variety if you did a-la carte resturants, Rooms could have been a little cleaner ( dead cockroach in my room was never cleaned up, Was never picked up.

Amazing Resort

Very good resort, clean, friendly staff, good food, alot of activities, nice rooms and very good service. it was great experience. i would recommend this to friends and family and may visit again soon
