Very relaxing Vacation

The hotel was very nice. Well maintained. Rooms were pretty clean. Beds and pillows need to be upgraded. Pools were great and clean also. Could use a washroom around the swim up bar. Good food thru the entire resort. The resort is huge, but the trolleys come frequently. Over all great resort. Very nice staff

Great resort

I enjoyed our stay and the Bahia Pricincioe Coba, the grounds were beautiful, the food was great Andrew the entertainment was wonderful. A wide variety of things to do for all ages. The trams run often, the pools are kept up.

Very good

Service excellent guy in restaurant Antonio very nice get out his way to buy a tequila bottle outside the resort. Barbara the little girl in the bar make amazing tequila shots ask for the special very tasty overall good service. Beach no so great and the pool need more activities more entertainment and music louder lol. Had a good time with lovely friends.

Great food and friendly people!

The food was great and the people were very friendly. We went during the Christmas holidays and we were spoiled with magnificent feasts, great parties and great shows. The beach and the pool were great as well.

Amazing Resort

We had an amazing time at Bahia coba this Christmas with our two kids. The staff were outstanding, the food was great and grounds impeccable. Our kids enjoyed the water park and kids club and loved taking the golf carts throughout the resort. Needless to say they didn't want to leave. The only down side to our trip was the skin infection our daughters contracted.

Perfect Loacation

This resort is huge, to big for us. We prefer a smaller resort. The location was great and was close to all of the excursions we went on, tulum, snorkeling, cenotes and dolphins. The food at the buffet was great, lots of variety even for our picky eaters.

Disaster from the start

We arrived at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba on Dec. 24th around 12:00 noon. We had high hopes and expectations since so many good reviews posted on the website about the hotel. However, we were told at first that the room was not ready, the hotel staff told us to come back in one and a half hour later. So we got ourselves breakfast/lunch and went back to the front counter exactly one and a half hour later. We were told again the room was not ready, hotel staff again told us to come back in 45 [... read more] min. So we decided to tour around the facility and went back in 45 min. Third time we were told again the room was not ready, the hotel staff told us to come back at 3:00 o'clock. At that point, we raised our voice and suddenly the room was available, however the room was not what we reserved for. We requested for two double beds with 2nd floor balcony. The hotel staff told us that in two days a room will be available. At that point, we clearly draw the line and said no substitution, asked the hotel to book another room available now not in two days. The hotel staff was rude and arrogant. There was no manager available to plead our case. So for anyone wishes to book this hotel, you should know there is no early check-in. Looking over our shoulder, we saw several other guests having the same issue. We fought and fought and finally got our room. After that experience we told ourselves never to come back again to this hotel. My two children have gone through the same ordeal. For your info, there is a VIP system, for those who has the VIP membership with the hotel, we hear that the treatment is very different. For the regular guests like us, the hotel will treat you like a dirt. So if you decided to book a five star hotel, please go else where. Unless you wish to pay extra money to buy into their VIP membership which is around $20,000 and up. Only good beach in this big resort is the Akumal beach, if you have the blue Coba band around your wrist, the hotel will literally kick you out. The other two beaches are Coba and Tulum which are full of rocks and seaweed. If you wish to enjoy the beach, you should book with the Akumal hotel. If you have booked with Coba or Tulum, then you have no access to Akumal. The suite washroom has no exhaust fan!!! There is no way this is a five star hotel. The coffee tastes horrible. From our experience, this is not a five star hotel.

Excellent Resort

The service, security, food and overall place is just amazing. May be need to add more vegetarian choices in the food. A Le Carte Indian restaurant would be nice. I liked the pool, transportation to and from airport. Clean beaches and towel service

Super deluxe

This was a fantastic week..great foods..pools..ocean beaches turtles..have recommended it to a couple already they will call you..we did 1 extra trip to Xcaret worth every penny of the 150.00 approx..12 hours not enough to see this park..super show at 8 pm for 2 hours

Awesome with a catch

We just enjoyed our 10th visit to Coba which was great. The resort staff and the food are fantastic.Lots to do on the resort and an amazing variety of extra activities available nearby. Our disappointment this year was the fact that we were previously told as a 10 time guest we would qualify again for VIP extra perks and special considerations. Unknown to us their Head Office changed all VIP perks (effective Nov.1/16) for returning guests starting on their 11th visit, and it was very unclear j [... read more]ust what our status really was. The communication with the resort before we left was very poor as we were not told what we got as a 10 time returning guest and once we arrived we found out we didnt get much. We will consider going back but before we book again we will confirm what the Coba has to offer.

Beautiful resort with great service!

When we arrived we were immediately upgraded from Gran Bahia Principe Coba to Gran Bahia Principe Tulum. This was great as Tulum is steps from the beach. Rooms were not spectacular but overall the resort was beautiful and the service was great as well. We travelled with our 22 month old son and our needs were always looked after.

Excellent Holiday

This is our 8th time here,Dec 11th to 18th. We had a very good week at the Coba Premier . A nice quiet junior suite close to the Buffet and Lobby. We had great hot weather, great service . We tried several A La Carte Restaurants and all made us feel like a somebody. This year the Japanese restaurant waiter Angel was the best. The best Filet Mignon goes to the Gourmet Coba . Very good resort.

This resort is very well run. We had the good fortune of spending half the time at Sian Ka'an and the other half at Coba. There is a reason why the former is an exclusive resort - smaller resort with more personable service. Coba has a good selection of buffets, pools and restaurants. You have to keep reminding yourself that it is a huge resort with a lot of guests. Our only gripe with all the resorts in the group is that as a non smoker we would find a convenient spot outdoors and within a few  [... read more]minutes there would be someone lighting up a cigarette nearby and their smoke would waft in our direction. This would occur first thing in the morning and continue throughout the day into the evening irrespective of the location. Non smoking outdoor areas would be a great option. Otherwise good value for money. Staff in general were very good.

Great holiday!!

The only problem we had all week was that our room wasn't ready for us until after 4:00 and we had arrived at the resort at 1:30...long hot wait. The staff was warm inviting and fun, the resort clean and accomodating..had a fabulous vacation over all.

Fun for all ages

Very large resort so be prepared for a lot of walking Friendly and accommodating staff. Great family vacation .We traveled in a group of 17 people ranging from 10 yrs old to 57 . There was Something to do for everyone

Fantasic first time

Thank you Grand Bahia Principe Coba! You made our first time staying at an all inclusive fantastic! We have been cruising the Caribbean for the last few years. We had never stayed at an all inclusive what a place to stay the first time. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and bright and cheerful. It was five star all the way! Food was absolutely great! Will absolutely visit you againThanks so much

Good Time & Sunshine

The hotel was very big and spread out. It was always clean and well maintained. The food was good, lots of selection in the buffet. The cooking show was awesome at the Japanese restaurant. Friendly staff. The beach was not very close but you can take the trolley which takes 5 minutes. Overall we enjoyed the resort and won't be strangers!

Perfect first time Family Mini Vacation

My husband and I vacation yearly at the Adult Only location of this resit the Sian Kaan. We took my parents, sister, her husband and their 2 boys on a 4 day family vacation to Coba in late October. The weather was perfect. Not to hot and pretty much no rain. The resort was not busy and this made things more relaxing. The rooms were clean, well kept and spacious. The attention that the servers gave to the kids was great. The kids loved the "kiddie area" at the buffet that allowed them easy access to the foods they were mostly likely to want. They could go and serve themselves. My favorite meal of the day was breakfast. The variety of food was awesome and I loved being able to have fresh eggs everyday made the way I liked them. It was my parents first time travelling anywhere and they had a great time. It more than met their expectations. They said they would definitely go back and do 7 days in the future. Even though the resort was not busy, the staff did not give less than 100%. We were entertained daily with fun things to do. Late October is a great time to visit this Resort if you don't like crowded.

Amazing resort

I just got back from an amazing vacation with my 16 year old daughter. I have been to Mexico before ( different resort) , cuba and dominican but this was the best resort I have stayed at. The food was delicious ( to good actually, I think I gained 10 lbs in 5 days) the staff were so welcoming and the place was very well maintained. This was the biggest resort I have stayed at and was happy to see they provided transportation around the resort including to the other resort on the property as [... read more] well. We staying at the Coba resort but the beach was a pleasant 10 min shuttle over Tulum resort where they had a great beach access. This would be a great resort for families with small children as most of the pools has a shallow area and a gradual walk in to the deeper end as well as a cool water park that was just beside the bigger pool area. I would go back to this resort for sure and would have already recommended it to some friends that are looking at booking a holiday .

Great time!!

The grounds are beautiful! There were always trams to get around the resort. Everyone was pleasant and happy to assist. Coba beach was small but nice not as rocky as Talums. Taking a tram to the beach was not a hassel at all, I was expecting it to be. Entertainment was okay of what we did see. At the Hacienda the band was great wish it could've been longer for those who do go to the night club. During the Fiesta Mexicana there was nothing for those who didn't go.
